This Sunday at Resonate, Pastor Jeff Sparkman wraps up our journey through the book of Ruth! To conclude this series over life seasons, Pastor shares how to trust God with the outcome of a decision after you've stepped out in faith. It's often difficult to release control and surrender our expectations to God's plan, right? But His faithfulness extends far beyond what we can see, and His plans are always greater than our own.
When things go from bad to worsePastor Mike teaches from the Book of Ruth Chapter 1
This week in worship, Pastor David begins a new series on the Book of Ruth. The story of Ruth reminds us that God remains faithful even in seasons of grief, loss, and uncertainty. Naomi's bitterness and sorrow reveal the deep pain that hardship can bring, yet Ruth's steadfast loyalty becomes a sign of hope and grace. Long before anyone can see restoration coming, God is already at work through ordinary acts of faithfulness and love. This series invites us to trust that even when life feels empty, God's redeeming love has not left us.

How do you spell faith? R-I-S-K. Any leap of faith involves trusting God with everything! Continuing our series through the book of Ruth, this week Ruth takes a huge risk and asks Boaz to marry her. Following her example, Pastor Jeff speaks on taking the leap of faith into your next season, and how to be confident that you're hearing from God about your next season.
Ever wish you could skip to the last page of your story just to know it's going to be okay? In this final message from the Book of Ruth, we see how God was quietly writing something beautiful all along and why your faithfulness today matters more than you know.

Study of The Book of Ruth - The Feast of Shavuot (rebroadcast 2019) by Shawn Ozbun
This Sunday, Pastor Jeff continues our study of the book of Ruth with chapter 2, over the topic of waiting on the Lord. We all go through waiting seasons in life - it's not a matter of if, but when we'll encounter it! Being stuck in that holding pattern is never enjoyable, but the waiting always has a purpose! God has a lot to teach us and work in us during the waiting.
Join us for a powerful, motivating and convicting Shavuot day teaching! Holy Spirit, light us on fire! #holyspirit #bible #shavuot #pentecost #torah #biblestudy #messianic #christian
In this week's message from our Ruth series, we look at the moment Boaz meets with the other redeemer and chooses to handle a difficult situation with integrity and honor. Even when the process was uncomfortable, costly, and uncertain, Boaz remained faithful to do what was right. This message reminds us that honor still matters — especially when it costs us something. In a world that often looks for shortcuts, we're challenged to live with integrity, trust God in the process, and believe that obedience and honor always lead to something greater in the hands of God.

In this inspiring episode for Shavuot, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe presents a complete overview and deep dive into the Book of Ruth (Megillat Ruth). Written by the Prophet Samuel, it tells the story of Ruth the Moabite princess who converts to Judaism out of genuine love for Naomi and the Jewish people, ultimately becoming the great-grandmother of King David and an ancestor of Moshiach. The book emphasizes themes of kindness (Chesed), loyalty, modesty, second chances, and personal commitment to Torah.Rabbi Wolbe highlights why Ruth is read on Shavuot: it shows the Torah is acquired through difficulty and dedication (not luxury), Ruth's conversion mirrors our acceptance of the Torah at Sinai (“Na'aseh v'nishma”), the story occurs during the harvest season (Chag HaKatzir), and it underscores the centrality of Chesed — the very foundation of the Torah. He also explains key halachic concepts from the book (Leket, Pe'ah, Shikcha, Yibum, Chalitzah) and powerful lessons about not running from challenges, embracing one's unique journey, and understanding that apparent setbacks often pave the way for redemption and greatness. To Download the Book of Ruth Outline: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Z6J6Zcvl8EJ0R8s_nSGhzGxLV5uM81eb_____________This Podcast Series is Generously Underwritten by Peter & Becky BotvinRecorded at TORCH Centre in the Levin Family Studios (B) to a live audience on May 19, 2026, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on May 20, 2026_____________Listen, Subscribe & Share: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jewish-inspiration-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1476610783Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4r0KfjMzmCNQbiNaZBCSU7) to stay inspired! Portrait of a Faithful Follower (Mother's Day 2026) / The Book of Ruth Pastor Amos Chute / 05-10-26 Download
In week three of our Ruth series, Pastor Ryan walks through Ruth 3 in a message about surrender, faith, and obedience in uncomfortable places. As Ruth steps forward in trust, we see that following God often means loosening our grip on control and moving forward even when the full picture hasn't been revealed. This message reminds us that surrender requires movement, trusts God in the removing, and learns to wait on the Redeemer. When we truly know the character of God, we can trust Him with what we don't yet understand — believing that He is faithful even in the waiting.
In a world full of transactional relationships, what does true, redeeming love actually look like? In this episode, Pastor Derek Holmes delivers the third installment of our four-part series through the book of Ruth. Moving into one of the most pivotal moments of the story, we dive deep into the profound encounter between Ruth and Boaz at the threshing floor—a moment that is so much more than a ancient romance. Pastor Derek investigates how Boaz and Ruth’s unfolding love story serves as a breathtaking metaphorical depiction of the Gospel. Through Boaz’s fierce protection, intentional provision, and sacrificial love for Ruth, we get a tangible, beautiful picture of how Christ cares for us and desires to save and redeem us from our brokenness. But redemption isn't just about the Redeemer; it's also about our response. We look at Ruth’s bold, willing request to be taken under Boaz’s wing, uncovering what it teaches us about the posture of our own hearts. To experience the fullness of Christ’s saving grace, we must come to Him with that same willingness and vulnerability. Whether you feel hidden, broken, or undeserving of love, this episode is a powerful reminder that you have a Kinsman-Redeemer who has already declared His love for you. Key Takeaways From This Episode: - The Gospel in the Old Testament: How the historical accounts of Ruth and Boaz mirror Christ’s ultimate redemptive mission. - The Character of the Redeemer: Understanding Christ’s heart for you through Boaz’s protection and provision. - The Posture of Faith: What Ruth’s surrender teaches us about how we must approach Jesus for salvation.
After reviewing the first three parts, we see in part 4 how a poor, righteous convert with every possible social disadvantage becomes the matriarch of kings and the Messianic Dynasty. Ruth teaches that we all have the potential for greatness.

By John Kosmalski - Ruth's commitment, trust, faith, and virtue are qualities we need as the bride of Christ.
Nothing in Hollywood can match the suspense in Chapter 3 of the Book of Ruth. In case you've just joined our 4-part lesson, don't worry. We begin with a review of Chapters One and Two. This eye-opening lesson elaborates on a number of significant topics, such as Moshiach, shidduchim, the Laws of Conversion, levirate marriage, charity and the laws pertaining to the Land of Israel.
We know well the story of Ruth and her role in the line of David and Jesus, but what about Naomi?Without Naomi there is no Ruth, her bitter experience is the soil from which the love story of Ruth and Boaz growsGod turns a bitter testimony to a blessed testimony in the life of the unsung hero of the faith, NaomiRuth 4:13-18

Mother's Day At West Ridge 2026 | The Quiet Faithfulness of God | Brian & Amy Bloye
This week we walk through Ruth 2 and see the quiet, steady faithfulness that marked Ruth's life. Rather than waiting passively, Ruth trusted God by simply showing up each day, working hard, and doing what was in front of her while believing God would provide the rest.As Boaz notices, protects, and provides for Ruth, we begin to see a beautiful picture of Jesus — our Redeemer. This message reminds us that faith is often not just an idea or distant belief, but lived out in ordinary obedience, and hard work.
The Zohar teaches that where there is a lack of compassion, stern judgment takes over and spills the blood of Moshiach. When the Israelites entered the Land of Israel after 210 years of slavery in Egypt and another forty years of wandering in the desert, they were preoccupied with establishing their own estates. They forgot about compassion, one of Torah's principal requirements of them. Ruth's mission on earth was to bring Chesed, or compassion, back to Israel, and with it to bring Moshiach. Therefore, Ruth is not only the great-grandmother of Moshiach but the key to the rectification of the entire world.
Pastor Scott teaches from the book of Ruth.

Learning the Book of Ruth is a superb preparation for the imminent coming of Moshiach. The monumental example of Ruth and her lineage show us the extreme efforts that the Almighty makes in order bring Moshiach. The forces of evil do everything in their power to prevent Moshiach's arrival. Today's lesson introduces us to the Book of Ruth and its background and covers Chapter One.
Ruth 1:1-18 // Nathan MillerIn this sermon, we walk through the first eighteen verses of Ruth, analyzing the move from Bethlehem to Moab and the subsequent return. We discuss the cultural weight of widowhood in the ancient world and the contrast between Orpah's logical departure and Ruth's sacrificial devotion. Ruth's confession of faith serves as the heart of this study, as she forsakes her past to follow Naomi and trust in the God of Israel. We see how even in the midst of bitterness and empty hands, God is quietly preparing a way for redemption that will eventually reach far beyond these two women to the rest of the world.SERMON NOTES (YouVersion): https://bible.com/events/49601033 PRAYER REQUESTS: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new26.05.03
In the opening message of our new series through Ruth, we look at the difficult decision Elimelech made to leave Bethlehem in search of something better — a choice that ultimately led his family into loss and hardship. Through Naomi and Ruth's story, we're faced with a powerful question: what do you do when the place God called you to feels empty, and somewhere else looks more promising? This message encourages us to stay rooted, move with wisdom, seek God in prayer, and lead with honor in every season. Even in the middle of loss, we see God's faithfulness as Ruth and Naomi return at the start of harvest — a reminder that God knows how to prepare a place of provision and blessing right when we need it most.

We are told in Romans 8:20-21 that God has woven **apparent** futility into the fabric of existence in the material universe. Yet, Scripturally, it exists in a kind of spiritually "quantum" state where futility both exists, and does not - at the same time.Concerning what *seems* futile to both King Solomon (see Ecclesiastes 1) and The Messiah, Himself (Isaiah 49:4) –– we are also told, "God has put all your tears in a bottle: none are forgotten" (Psalm 56:8) "even if you give a cup of cold water" to someone who needs it, "you will not lose your reward." (Mark 9:41). The tragedies that begin the Book Of Ruth end with the birth of line of King David and the Messiah. What is our Creator, our Father in Heaven, up to?

Ruth is one of my favorite Old Testament books in the Bible. Though small and unassuming, it not only parallels our own Christian journey from darkness and sin to light and salvation, but it also has incredible depth that helps our spiritual growth as believers. While many think of the book of Ruth as merely a love story (between Ruth and Boaz), the book actually is an incredible foreshadowing of Jesus Christ, the gospel, and His redemptive work on the cross. In this episode, we briefly look at how the book of Ruth parallels the Christian life, foreshadows Jesus Christ, enriches and deepens our spiritual growth, and highlights Nathan's new Christ-centered study/commentary on the Book of Ruth. The Book of Ruth - Pastor John Wilkerson - Wednesday Evening, April 8, 2026 by First Baptist Church of Hammond
Ruth chapter 1 unfolds during the dark and chaotic time of the Judges, when famine and instability gripped Israel. A man named Elimelek leaves Bethlehem with his wife Naomi and their two sons to seek survival in the land of Moab—but what begins as a search for provision quickly turns into tragedy. After the deaths of Elimelek and both sons, Naomi is left widowed and empty, forcing her to return to Bethlehem. In one of the most powerful moments in Scripture, Ruth refuses to leave Naomi, pledging loyalty to her, her people, and her God. This episode explores Ruth 1 in its historical and cultural context, revealing a story of loss, faithfulness, and redemption that ultimately connects to the lineage of King David.
