They understand how to grow churches in a rapidly changing culture without burning out staff and lay leaders. Every major church denomination in the U.S. has experienced a decline since the 1960s, a trend the pandemic didn't initiate but rather accelerated. What are we, as people who love the local church, to do about this reality?FiveTwo has spent the last four years identifying the four key cultural trends thriving churches address. They've helped countless churches address these trends and thrive. They've put all their learnings, along with case studies, into a free resource that you can download at fivetwo.com today. Discover how well your congregation is managing these forces and what you can do to grow. Also, check out my webinar this past June with Founder of FiveTwo Bill Woolsey. The world encourages us to have a "mine" mentality, where we think everything— our time, our talent, our finances—belongs to us. However, true riches comes from living a life of contagious generosity. In the second part of our Be Rich series, guest speaker Tim DeTellis shares how to live generously with the resources that God has given us.

Mk 6Any text is produced in a particular time, place, and context. In the case of the Bible, that context is always very different from ours as readers. “White North American Christians, especially those of us from the privileged strata of society, must come to terms with the fact that our reading site for the Gospel of Mark is empire, locus imperium” (Ched Meyers, Binding The Strong Man). This location means that we have to do the work, as best we can, to separate ourselves from our assumptions to hear what the text is saying to its intended audience.Lent provides an opportune moment to do just that. To let go of our privileged assumptions and to read from the place of surrender. This Lent, we will pick up where we left off in the fall to work through the second half of Mark's Gospel. ★ Support this podcast ★

Life Group Pastor, Jeremiah Carswell, wrapped up our series on Contagious Generosity with a powerful message on what it means to trust God fully with our time, resources, and what exactly it means to live with contagious generosity. If you missed any from this sermon series, we encourage you to go back and listen to this incredible series.
This Sunday, Lead Pastor Mike Mozingo, continued our series on Contagious Generosity by sharing with us to the blessing we are to and through God's good grace. The story of the Feeding of the Five Thousand helps us see how Jesus can use our offering to multiply and bless those around us as long as we are willing to be His vessels. Pastor Mike asks the pertinent question of "what seems insurmountable in your life?" challenging us to let God overcome all that stands in His way in our lives. Join us as we listen to the challenge and blessing of God's provisional care in our lives.
This Sunday, Lead Pastor Mike Mozingo, continued our series on Contagious Generosity by challenging us to follow the example of the 'good Samaritan.' The good Samaritan was generous with his time and his resources. Pastor Mike asked the question, is your heart tender and compassionate? Where are you generous, with your time, your money, your mercy? Listen to this message on how we are NOT spiritual consumers, but spiritual contributors.

My guest for this episode is Wendy Steele. Wendy is the founder and CEO of Impact100, a global nonprofit organization dedicated to uniting and empowering women to create a transformational impact in their communities. Since launching Impact100 in 2001, Wendy has dedicated her life to encouraging women to see themselves as both activists and philanthropists, bringing them together in order to unite their efforts, support one another, and enrich their communities as a team. What began as a grassroots effort in Cincinnati has today collectively granted more than $105 million to worthy nonprofits across more than 60 local chapters and four countries. The importance of giving back with the intent to leave the world a little better than she found it was instilled in her from a young age, leading her to see that all of us have something important to give. Wendy believes that, in giving to others, we gain in incalculable ways, and we can encourage others to do the same. Wendy's debut book, Invitation to Impact: Lighting the Path to Community Transformation, shares her personal journey building one of today's most powerful grassroots organizations and invites women to become part of the solution by impacting their very own communities. Part business book, part memoir, Invitation to Impact provides insights for catalyzing meaningful change by giving women a seat at the table and a chance to join the movement—or spark one within themselves. In recognition of her work with Impact100, Wendy was selected by Forbes for the July 2021 50 over 50 Impact list recognizing women changing communities through social entrepreneurship, law, advocacy, and education. She was also featured as a guest speaker on TEDxBocaRaton in 2014 where she discussed what contagious generosity means and why we should all get involved. In 2020, Wendy was named a Distinguished Honoree of the Jones Prize in Philanthropy from the Institute of Private Investors, and she was also awarded the 2014 Jefferson Award for Public Service for her work with Impact100. Wendy resides in Tampa Bay, Florida, and enjoys reading, writing, traveling, walking the beach, and spending time with her husband, Rick, her five adult children, and as well as her dog, Gracie. Here's what to expect during the episode: How does women's empowerment help the community? Why do some donors stop giving? What does contagious generosity mean? How can you encourage people to give back to society? What makes people more likely to donate? What are the health benefits of donating? Connect with Wendy Steele! Generosity is not about giving. It's about living. Jesus taught us to not store up treasures for ourselves on earth but rather to store up treasures in heaven. For where our treasure is, there our heart will be also. There are many ways for us to be generous — through our time, our talents, and our treasure. But generosity is not based on an amount we give; you don't have to be rich to be generous. Generosity is an attitude.

How can we be frugal when we have a God who is so generous.
Every one of us will leave a legacy behind when we die. So the question is not "Will I leave a legacy?" But rather, "What kind of legacy will I leave?" In his letter to the new believers in 1 Corinthians 13, Paul reveals three characteristics that produce a long lasting spiritual legacy: faith, hope […] Related posts: Tomorrow’s Legacy Today Legacy is more than the Pursuit of Happiness Creating a Culture of Contagious Generosity

In this Exponential 2012 podcast, Jim Sheppard and Chris Willard speak about creating a culture of giving. Churches that are getting it when it comes generosity can be a source of learning. How can we apply those lessons in our own church and move the generosity needle? Jim and Chris are keen observers of church trends in the area of generosity and they will introduce you to lessons some churches have learned. This is not about a formula for success, but rather a "what can we learn from others."
