If we accept the invitation, every full moon can brings us wonderful insights and opportunities for change. With the Full Moon in Libra, She offers an ongoing time to understand your connections to yourself and other people. There's a lot of planetary knowledge, insights and awareness to be gained from this lunar cycle. In this episode, I talk about developing your "AstroVisioning" ability. In essence, its a way of being able to intuitively perceive the energetic expression that is held in your unique astrology chart. The full moon cycle is one of illumination. If we go out and look at the full moon, it has a striking appearance. On the level of inner awareness, this brightness and "moonlightness" are really steppingstones for recognizing how to see in the dark. This means being able to understand the inner guidance that is provided by each full moon. This powerful Libra Full Moon in cooperation with planet Venus, has and will continue to ask us to take an in depth look at how we connect and relate to ourselves and others. The key of course, is to have some understanding of what area of your astrology chart is being featured during a lunar cycle. Since it's in the air sign of Libra, this Moon is providing illumination for looking deeply at how we take care of one's self, while meeting the desires and wants of other people.Libra gives us keyword descriptions such as "harmony and balance" in the context of being in relationship with self and others. In many ways, Libra presents a question, what is the value exchange? For example, in a marital relationship, there's often the question of each individual's wants, needs and desires, in consideration of each partner feeling acknowledged and seen. In the sign of Libra relationships can sometimes be daunting because the planet Venus is align with the supreme value of "love". Libra on the other hand is an "intellectual mental reflecting" sign. Relationships of every type, requires a person to ask, "how well am I connecting to myself, in order to relate to another person? Am I over extended emotionally in order to please another person, just to keep the "peace?"Where in your chart is the Moon illuminating, urging and encouraging you to release old patterns of relating that are not serving your well being? How will you relate to yourself and others in a more heart-centered way? Let's have an Astrology Conversation. I look forward to seeing you. Some things in history are too important to leave buried. Ancient customs, forgotten artifacts, and misunderstood traditions hold the key to unlocking the full depth of biblical truth. From cryptic burial practices to cultural nuances hidden in plain sight, the past offers answers that challenge the way Scripture is read today. Today I'm chatting with Iris Hu from Light by Iris - She is an Award Winning Documentary and Lifestyle Photographer based In Portland, Oregon who is Ready to travel anywhere. Iris is also an educator - she teaches an online class with Illuminate and in person weekend retreat called Finding Heart. In this episode, Iris shares her unconventional approach to capturing authentic, meaningful images. She prioritizes spontaneity, shooting in dynamic environments and embracing the imperfections of real life—whether it's changing light, unpredictable weather, or everyday surroundings. Rather than relying on location scouting, styling, or golden hour perfection, she lets the environment and the natural light guide her creative process.Iris reflects on her introverted nature, favoring gentle direction and observation over staged, high-energy sessions. Her goal is to create images that evoke emotion and nostalgia, valuing subtle, quiet beauty over perfectly polished aesthetics. She celebrates the raw, unfiltered moments—like light streaming through dust or a neon fridge glow on a child's face—believing that these fleeting, imperfect details tell richer, more genuine stories. Throughout the conversation, she encourages fellow creatives to embrace flexibility, trust their instincts, and find inspiration in the ordinary. You can find all the information on her photography & workshops below! Passage: The Lord said to Moses, “Yet one plague more I will bring upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt. Afterward he will let you go from here. When he lets you go, he will drive you away completely. Speak now in the hearing of the people, that they ask, every man of his neighbor and every woman of her neighbor, for silver and gold jewelry.” And the Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover, the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants and in the sight of the people. So Moses said, “Thus says the Lord: About midnight I will go out in the midst of Egypt, and every firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the slave girl who is behind the handmill, and all the firstborn of the cattle. There shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there has never been, nor ever will be again. But not a dog shall growl against any of the people of Israel, either man or beast, that you may know that the Lord makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel. And all these your servants shall come down to me and bow down to me, saying, ‘Get out, you and all the people who follow you.' And after that I will go out.” And he went out from Pharaoh in hot anger. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Pharaoh will not listen to you, that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.” Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh, and the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the people of Israel go out of his land. (Exodus 11:1-10 ESV) Song: Illuminate the Shadows by Isaac Wardell and Paul Zach Lyrics: Illuminate the shadows Comfort those who are cast down Illuminate the shadows Be our refuge in the time of storm God our help in the time of trouble (God our help in the time of trouble) Illuminate the shadows Cast the evil ruler from His throne Illuminate the shadows Break oppression with your mighty arm Illuminate the shadows 'Til every idol has been trampled on Illuminate the shadows 'Til every statue comes tumbling down Bring hope to the hopeless Prayer: Your glorious Majesty surround me, the blessed Trinity protect me, and the eternal Godhead preserve me. Your unlimited mercy support me; your loving kindness encompass me; your favor make me to rejoice. The eternal truth of God be my delight, the saving knowledge of Christ strengthen me, and the all-prevailing grace of God be sufficient for me. May the grace of God the Father lead me, the wisdom of God the Son be my consolation, and the power of the Holy Spirit enlighten me. Lord my Creator, stand by me; my Redeemer, save me; and my Comforter, dwell with me. Amen. —Johann Habermann

Have you ever felt unheard in a conversation? Or wondered why society seems more divided than ever? Historian and podcast host Ramona Houston joins us to reveal how radical listening can bridge cultural divides, resolve conflicts, and reshape history. Ramona Houston is a U.S. historian specializing in African American and Mexican American history. As we celebrate Black History Month, Ramona shares her insights on the power of listening and its impact on understanding history and resolving conflicts. In this episode, she highlights the significance of radical listening—truly hearing what others say and what remains unspoken. Ramona discusses how listening can transform relationships, whether personal or professional, and how it plays a crucial role in addressing societal challenges. Through her experiences, Ramona emphasizes the importance of recognizing often-overlooked contributions to history, particularly from women and marginalized communities. By listening to diverse voices, we can reshape our understanding of history and foster a more inclusive narrative. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a leader seeking to improve communication, or someone passionate about social change, this conversation will inspire you to embrace the art of listening and its potential to create positive change. "In the U.S., we have Black History Month, Women's History Month, AAPI Heritage Month, and Hispanic Heritage Month—times dedicated to recognizing how different groups have contributed to American history. This is important because if you read American history books, you'll see how many groups have been marginalized. As historians, we work toward a future where these histories are included in all books and in all ways—not just separated out. History changes when we start adding different groups of people.”- Ramona Houston SUPERPOWER Notes: 00:01 – The Importance of Inclusive History. We just finished reading Wintering by Katherine May in the book club, and it has prompted me to reflect on the parallels between the book's themes and the foundational values underlying The Return to Serenity Island. https://youtu.be/NoGFVIuAPJk Katherine May describes Wintering as “a season in the cold. It is a fallow period in life when you're cut off from the world, feeling rejected, sidelined, blocked from progress, or cast into the role of an outsider.” We've all experienced these times in life, but wintering is a quiet act of defiance in a world that never stops. It is an example of gentle rebellion in the face of the perpetual demand to be productive and useful. It's choosing rest over empty hustle, care over competition, and creativity over endless productivity. May suggests that we often treat these winters as something to hide or ignore. However, embracing them is “a radical act—choosing to slow down, letting spare time expand, and getting enough rest. If you shed this skin, you'll expose all those painful nerve endings and feel raw. But if you don't, the old skin will harden around you.” This resonates deeply with what we do in The Return to Serenity Island. What Is Serenity Island? Serenity Island is a slow and immersive experience, and perfect for those navigating, preparing for, or healing from a season of wintering. Whether you're in the aftermath of a crisis, have identified a gradual drift in a part of your life, or you simply feel the burden of life's demands on your shoulders, the course offers a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the things that matter. You are invited to... Rest and listen: Discover tools to help you embrace stillness and notice the unexpected wisdom waiting in the spaces between. Illuminate the path: as the snow falls, it brightens the world engulfed in the darkness of short winter days. Serenity Island helps you find your footing more clearly and softens the harsh edges of life. Rediscover your voice: As May reminds us, despite beliefs entrenched by popular culture, to view singing as something for the talented is to misunderstand it as a natural and necessary part of human expression. On Serenity Island, you will reclaim your sound and find the courage to explore your voice, regardless of what anyone else thinks of it. Move with the seasons: Life isn't linear, and neither is healing. With maps and imagination, Serenity Island helps you embrace a cyclical and three-dimensional understanding of growth. What You'll Find on Serenity Island Wintering is not just about survival—it's about transformation and enduring growth. May writes, “Every time we winter, we develop a new knowledge about how to go back into the world.” On Serenity Island, you will: Gain clarity on what matters most and how YOU want to approach this next season of life. Identify and gently release the things you no longer want to spend your finite resources (resilience, energy, time) on. Anchor in the present by embracing and enjoying life's imperfect and bittersweet endings, letting go of perfect hero's journeys and wishful thinking. Slow down, rest, and be yourself alongside others in the folded-page moments of our picnic sessions, where there is no pressure to perform or deliver. Build your toolkit for life by using the course templates and ideas. Develop your own practices, rituals, and metaphors to carry you through future seasons. Ready to Join Me on Serenity Island? Maybe you're in a Wintering season like this and would like some company as you navigate it. Or perhaps you want to be more prepared to embrace your next winter when it arrives. If so, I invite you to join The Return to Serenity Island. This course is designed to meet you where you are, offering a space to explore, reconnect, and grow from the inside-out. In this episode, we'll explore how receiving a diagnosis of MS can be a life changing event and invoke in us a state of crisis. We can become overwhelmed with anxiety, stagnant in our personal growth, withdraw into deep depression, or experience apathy, where accessing joy and moving forward with living a life we love feels unattainable. We can also experience a deterioration in our ability to maintain a growth mindset to remain oriented towards what's possible in terms of healing. We might give up and give in, and enter a spiral into lower frequency emotions and a cascade of ability losses. In this episode, we'll learn about a powerful tool from two UNC psychology experts called the Post-Traumatic Growth Inventory that we can use to better evaluate and celebrate the ways we've transformed post diagnosis, as well as illuminate potential pathways we might explore to achieve further growth, enlightenment, and healing. Take a listen and explore what's possible for you!! patreon.com/MSFlock
“Awakened consciousness is always deeply at ease. It's very open and fluid and flexible. And that's something we can sit down and practice. We don't have to focus on our breath or repeat a word, or try to be mindful of every little sensation. Instead, we can use our meditation as a dynamic, active experiment in consciousnesses where we are making space for spiritual awakening to happen, to reveal itself.”—Craig HamiltonWe've all had moments of deep clarity and peace—only to watch them slip away. We're often told these glimpses are fleeting, or that lasting awakening takes years—maybe even a lifetime—of dedicated practice. But what if that's not the whole story? In Direct Awakening: Four Meditations to Illuminate the Way, Craig invites you to explore a different way of approaching awakening. Instead of waiting for it to happen, what if we could practice being awake right now? This question led Craig to develop The Practice of Direct Awakening—a method that transforms meditation from a passive exercise into an active engagement with awakened consciousness.Rather than following traditional meditation techniques that focus on quieting the mind or observing thoughts, Craig shares four direct awakening practices—subtle yet powerful shifts that open the door to deeper awareness. These inner postures invite us to move beyond the idea that awakening is something distant and instead experience it as something we can cultivate moment by moment. This episode features a 25-minute guided meditation designed to take you beyond theory and into direct experience. If possible, find a quiet, comfortable space where you can fully immerse yourself in the meditation. If you're interested in exploring more of Craig's approach to meditation, you're invited to tune in to a 90-minute online workshop Craig will be hosting called Meditation 2.0 – The Miracle of Direct Awakening. In this episode of The Healers Café, Manon Bolliger, FCAH, RBHT (facilitator and retired naturopath with 30+ years of practice) speaks to Russell Sturgess, about healing with Bowen through the soul. For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/russell-sturgess2 Highlights from today's episode include: Russell Sturgess that's where our suffering happens, we're actually looking for in wealth and power, in love in success, we're looking for our happiness outside of ourselves, which is bizarre, because our intrinsic self is happiness. Our sole being is that it's in here, it's not out there. And then, once you understand and have grasped the whole notion that our happiness is within Russell Sturgess They're having a painful experience. So, what happens is we turn up and we apply this technique, and we try to fix people, and this is going to be one of the hardest things for me to get across to anybody is that you're not fixing anybody. All you're doing is opening windows of opportunity. This is what a Bowen therapist does. Manon Bolliger 19:30 when you're in connection with another person on the table, we know mechanically some of the impacts that you know that Bowen triggers, like the piezoelectric effect or all of that we know that there's you know, a frequency ABOUT: From his teens, Russell demonstrated an understanding of agape (unconditional love) that defied his age. His upbringing saw him channel his passion into complementary health, as well as religion. Russell now serves as a spiritual director, using the path of the Beatitudes as a way to help people sustainably remember to be kind to themselves, to others and to the planet. Healing is listening, which is being aware. Ignorance, avoidance and our attachments void our capacity to be aware, resulting in suffering. Russell specializes in a combination of Bowen Therapy (his interpretation called Fascial Kinetics), Osteopathic Massage, and Reflexology.
