Jeffrey Goldberg has been a thorn in President Donald Trump's side since the real-estate developer–turned reality-show host first ran for office in 2016. Back then — ten months before he took over as editor-in-chief of The Atlantic — Goldberg wrote a piece headlined “A Brief Exercise Meant to Illuminate the Prejudices of Donald Trump.” The magazine has continued its unsparing criticism of Trump ever since, and Goldberg's recent Signalgate story was just the latest in a series of blockbuster scoops that have nominally embarrassed the president.  On Friday, Goldberg sat down with Kara for an on-stage interview at the WBUR Festival in Boston. They discussed Trump's corruption, the unserious people staffing his administration (as well as with the very serious Russell Vought, a Project 2025 architect who heads the OMB), the Democratic Party's travails, and the state of the news media.  Questions? Obscure shapes rise in the distance, a haze of smoke obscures all. Movements seem slow and time is but a figment of the imagination. The focus turns inward as a sense of calmness encompasses, letting the mind relax. Overhead the sky is black, but filled with stars, with brief flashes of light as celestial bodies march across the heavenly vista. This mental imagery springs to mind when listening through Pierre Nesi aka Owl's forthcoming LP, titled, ‘Fragments of Darkness' on the storied Korean imprint, Huinali Recordings. A wonderful pairing, and an instant listen whenever either name pops up. Fragments of Darkness will be Owl's second release, following 2022's ‘Forest Shadow'. Coincidentally not, another must listen if you've not heard already. Lanterns Illuminate The Infinite Space comes as the final, 7th track to the musical odyssey that Owl has crafted. Beautiful, soft pads lead off and establish a warm atmospheric vibe. The light to the darker moments in the release, the counter that Pierre is so adept at crafting. Ebbing and flowing, the track expands and soon a prominent melody emerges, accented by flashes of synths that give structure and development. Fragments of Darkness will be released on May 12th, off of Huinali Recordings, on all platforms. @owlfromdeepspace @huinalidub www.instagram.com/pete_owl/ Write up by @huedj Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc

Sixty-eight percent of students are below grade level, a staggering statistic Gary Surdam, Founder and CEO of Bright Start Ed-Tech Inc., refuses to accept. In this episode of the Superpowers for Good show, Gary shared how his company is addressing this challenge with an innovative AI-powered solution designed to create personalized learning experiences for every student.Gary explained that the idea for Bright Start Ed-Tech's flagship program, Illuminate, began while teaching a STEAM course in Thailand. He recalled giving students a problem to solve: “You could see the wheels in their mind turning, but you didn't see them finding the solution. Then, all of a sudden, this young man's face illuminated. Within seconds, he gave a solution to the problem.” That moment of discovery became the foundation for Illuminate, a program designed to spark these “illuminating moments” in students worldwide.Using AI, Bright Start Ed-Tech tailors lessons to individual learning styles, levels, and preferences. “AI really brings all of that together and individualizes the learning for our students,” Gary explained. The company's approach is a bold departure from the traditional one-size-fits-all education model.Bright Start's strategy unfolds in two phases. The first phase focuses on empowering parents as educators. “Parents are the first and most important teachers in the lives of their children,” Gary emphasized. The program equips parents to address the learning gaps many students experienced during the pandemic. The second phase targets school systems, delivering personalized learning apps to transform classrooms. “We're the answer to the problems that are happening in education,” Gary said. By using AI to provide targeted engagement, the program aims to re-engage students and help them succeed.Bright Start Ed-Tech is currently raising funds through a regulated crowdfunding campaign on Funding Hope to scale its transformative technology. “We're looking at raising our funds to take us a step further,” Gary said, inviting support from investors who share his vision of a brighter future for education.Bright Start Ed-Tech isn't just a company—it's a catalyst for change in an education system that desperately needs innovation. Gary's vision and determination are paving the way for a brighter future for students everywhere.tl;dr:Bright Start Ed-Tech uses AI to create personalized learning solutions tailored to each student's needs. The company's two-phase approach empowers parents and transforms schools with targeted educational tools.Gary Surdam's vision began with a moment of inspiration while teaching a STEAM course in Thailand. His superpower, tenacity, has driven him to overcome challenges and refine his innovative technology.Bright Start Ed-Tech is raising funds via crowdfunding to scale its transformative personalized learning platform. How to Develop Tenacity As a SuperpowerGary Surdam's superpower is tenacity—a relentless determination to overcome challenges and drive forward. As Gary explained, “Tenacity, never giving up. I had this vision…never be ashamed to dream big dreams, because what you dream, you will become.” He emphasized the importance of perseverance, even when progress feels slow, and shared how his unwavering commitment to his vision for Bright Start Ed-Tech has kept him moving forward despite obstacles.Illustrative Story:Gary shared a story illustrating his tenacity. In 2015, he had the idea for Bright Start Ed-Tech and launched a crowdfunding campaign. Despite raising just $95, he refused to abandon his vision. “Back in 2015, technology wasn't at the level we are now,” he said. Years of hard work and refinement led to the development of Illuminate, leveraging advancements in AI to create personalized learning experiences. His persistence through setbacks exemplifies his commitment to making a difference in education.Tips for Developing Tenacity:Start each day by setting clear goals and focusing on your vision.Reflect nightly on your progress, identifying positives and areas for improvement.Embrace setbacks as learning opportunities rather than failures.Stay aware of potential challenges, keeping “your eyes open” to avoid pitfalls.Break large goals into small, measurable steps to maintain momentum.By following Gary's example and advice, you can make tenacity a skill. With practice and effort, you could make it a superpower that enables you to do more good in the world.Remember, however, that research into success suggests that building on your own superpowers is more important than creating new ones or overcoming weaknesses. Send us a textWhat happens when a medical professional becomes the primary caregiver for their own parent? Dr. Melissa Glass, a doctorate trained registered nurse and John Maxwell certified coach, takes us through her profound journey of caring for her mother during the pandemic's darkest days. The caregiver journey often begins unexpectedly. For Dr. Glass, it started with long-distance care as her fiercely independent mother battled health challenges in Louisiana. When COVID-19 changed everything in 2020, Dr. Glass brought her mother to live with her in Texas while simultaneously pursuing her doctorate and managing a household. Her mother's complex medical needs—end-stage renal disease requiring dialysis, uncontrolled diabetes, and complications leading to an amputation—created a perfect storm of caregiving intensity.Despite her medical expertise, Dr. Glass discovered that caring for family introduces emotional complexities professional training can't prepare you for. "Even working in healthcare... I never understood how do you even find time to take care of yourself?" she reflects candidly. Her story illuminates the universal struggle caregivers face: balancing expertise with familial relationships while maintaining boundaries and self-care.The most touching revelations come through Dr. Glass's description of their final holiday season together. Her mother, typically camera-shy, allowed precious photos and videos that now provide comfort in grief. "Sometimes when I just need a little comfort to want to hear my mother's voice... I don't mourn over them as much as I use it as a comfort," she shares, offering wisdom about documentation that every caregiver should hear. After her mother's peaceful transition in January 2021, Dr. Glass developed the powerful SHIFT framework (Scripture, Holy Spirit, Illuminate, Faith, Testimony) that guided her healing journey. Her story reminds us that caregiving, while tremendously challenging, often becomes the crucible where our deepest spiritual growth occurs.Join us for this moving conversation about medical caregiving, capturing memories, finding personalized self-care, and discovering God's presence even in our darkest moments. Welcome to Day 2619 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom Day 2619 – New Testament Orientation - What is the New Testament? Putnam Church Message – 04/27/2025 Sermon Series: New Testament Orientation Message 1: What Is the New Testament?   Last week was our third and final Easter message about The Road to Jerusalem. We asked and answered the question, Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? This week, we will begin our twelve-week New Testament Orientation series. Our first lesson will be: What Is the New Testament? The core verse is: 2 Timothy 3:15-16 What is the New Testament? A Story from Our World Shalom, friends, and grace to you from the one true God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who has revealed Himself in the face of Yeshua, our Messiah! Think of our journey together in the Old Testament Orientation as walking a long, dusty road stretching centuries. We saw the mighty acts of God, the covenant made on Sinai, the struggles and triumphs of our ancestors, and the longing for a Messiah who would set things right. As we begin this New Testament Orientation, it is as if we have turned a corner on that road, and the landscape, while familiar in some ways, is also breathtakingly new. This is not a separate journey entirely, but rather, as some have rightly said, it is like entering the next chapter of the most important story ever told: the story of God's relentless love and unfolding plan for humanity. Picture yourself as a Hebrew family when Yeshua, the Messiah, came. In our time, things are different than they were for Moses, David, or even the Prophet Malachi, whose voice was the last we heard before a long silence. We live under the watchful, often heavy, eye of Rome. Our world is connected in ways our ancestors could scarcely have imagined. Roman roads crisscross the land, and while they are built for legions and trade, they also carry whispers of a new movement, a new hope centered on Yeshua. Today, we ask a fundamental question: What is this “New Testament”? What are these new letters, these accounts of Yeshua's life and teachings, these writings from the apostles that are now being read in our homes and our gatherings? To understand this, we must first understand how we, the people of this time – those of us steeped in the traditions of Israel and those who have come to faith from among the Gentiles – think about sacred writings and the very words of God. Let us open our hearts and minds, and let us pray. Opening Prayer: Gracious Spirit, the very breath of God, Who hovered over the waters at creation, Who inspired the prophets of old to speak Your truth, We pray that You would open our minds and hearts now. Quiet the anxious thoughts and the distractions of our busy lives. Help us to listen not just with our ears but with our souls. Illuminate these words and bring them to life within us. May they teach, challenge, correct, and train us in righteousness. May they make us wise for salvation through faith in Yeshua, the Messiah. We are like children learning a new song; help us to catch the tune. We are like travelers on a road, wondering where it leads; show us the way. Use this time, this message, to deepen our understanding, To strengthen our faith, and to draw us closer to Your...

What if love was more than a feeling — what if love was a frequency that could heal, transform, and even perform miracles?   In this deeply moving episode of the HEAL with Kelly Podcast, I sit down with Danette Wolpert Holman, visionary filmmaker and founder of the ILLUMINATE Film Festival. She shares her extraordinary journey through not one, but two “one-in-a-million” health events — first her own, then her husband's — that forever shifted her understanding of healing, surrender, and the true nature of reality.   Danette opens up about preparing for brain surgery through a year of deep emotional release work, energy healing, and spiritual exploration. Rooted in the belief that illness carries a message, she leaned fully into the mind-body connection, releasing what no longer served her and stepping into her power with clarity and grace. When her husband Drew was later diagnosed with a different, rare, life-threatening brain tumor, Danette activated every healing resource she could — surrounding him with intention, prayer, and unwavering love. The result? A second 1% miracle. This episode is a powerful testament to the limitless potential of healing, the transformative force of conscious media, and what becomes possible when we remember who we truly are.  And Danette and her husband's stories just might give us the recipe to activating miracles in our own life. This episode is a must listen!!    Come see Danette and me at the ILLUMINATE Film Festival, where I'll be joining a panel discussion. If we accept the invitation, every full moon can brings us wonderful insights and opportunities for change.  With the Full Moon in Libra, She offers an ongoing time to understand your connections to yourself and other people. There's a lot of planetary knowledge, insights and awareness to be gained from this lunar cycle.  In this episode, I talk about developing your "AstroVisioning" ability.  In essence, its a way of being able to intuitively perceive the energetic expression that is held in your unique astrology chart. The full moon cycle is one of illumination.  If we go out and look at the full moon, it has a striking appearance.  On the level of inner awareness, this brightness and "moonlightness" are really steppingstones for recognizing how to see in the dark. This means being able to understand the inner guidance that is provided by each full moon. This powerful Libra Full Moon in cooperation with planet Venus, has and will continue to ask us to take an in depth look at how we connect and relate to ourselves and others.  The key of course, is to have some understanding of what area of your astrology chart is being featured during a lunar cycle.  Since it's in the air sign of Libra, this Moon is providing illumination for looking deeply at how we take care of one's self, while meeting the desires and wants of other people.Libra gives us keyword descriptions such as "harmony and balance" in the context of being in relationship with self and others. In many ways, Libra presents a question, what is the  value exchange?  For example, in a marital relationship,  there's often the question of each individual's wants, needs and desires, in consideration of each partner feeling acknowledged and seen.   In the sign of Libra relationships can sometimes be daunting because the planet Venus is align with the supreme value of "love".  Libra on the other hand is an "intellectual mental reflecting" sign.  Relationships of every type, requires a person to ask, "how well am I connecting to myself, in order to relate to another person?  Am I over extended emotionally in order to please another person, just to keep the "peace?"Where in your chart is the Moon illuminating, urging and encouraging you to release old patterns of relating that are not serving your well being?  How will you relate to yourself and others in a more heart-centered way? Let's have an Astrology Conversation. I look forward to seeing you. Today I'm chatting with Iris Hu from Light by Iris - She is an Award Winning Documentary and Lifestyle Photographer based In Portland, Oregon who is Ready to travel anywhere. Iris is also an educator - she teaches an online class with Illuminate and in person weekend retreat called Finding Heart. In this episode, Iris shares her unconventional approach to capturing authentic, meaningful images. She prioritizes spontaneity, shooting in dynamic environments and embracing the imperfections of real life—whether it's changing light, unpredictable weather, or everyday surroundings. Rather than relying on location scouting, styling, or golden hour perfection, she lets the environment and the natural light guide her creative process.Iris reflects on her introverted nature, favoring gentle direction and observation over staged, high-energy sessions. Her goal is to create images that evoke emotion and nostalgia, valuing subtle, quiet beauty over perfectly polished aesthetics. She celebrates the raw, unfiltered moments—like light streaming through dust or a neon fridge glow on a child's face—believing that these fleeting, imperfect details tell richer, more genuine stories. Throughout the conversation, she encourages fellow creatives to embrace flexibility, trust their instincts, and find inspiration in the ordinary. You can find all the information on her photography & workshops below!
