She was part of Punjabi University, Patiala, where she was retired as Professor of Punjabi, and Dean, Faculty of Languages. Most of her stories expressed the rawness of the land of five rivers and 'Oh Sochdi' is also one of them. Dalip Shekhawat is a passionate educator, mountaineer, and ultra runner who grew up in the Himalayas and now calls Winnipeg home. Dalip has climbed over fifteen mountain peaks including Mt. Everest on May 16, 2019. He works at St. Amant school as a special education teacher and he is also a member of Royal Winnipeg Rifles, a primary reserve infantry regiment of the Canadian Forces. Dalip found his passion for running during his training for Mt. Everest but has continued racking up the miles ever since. As a way to give back, he has raised funds for multiple charitable organizations through his running including the St. Amant Foundation and Wounded Warriors. Last year he founded the Rising Runners running group. Particularly telling Dark stories, real stories of real life serial killer, trying to solve unsolved mystery of crime world in India.Chandrakant Jha is a serial killer and probable psychopath who befriended, then killed and dismembered 7 victims in west Delhi between 1998 and 2007. His first killing took place in 1998 for which he was arrested and held in jail until 2002, when he was released due to lack of evidence.[1] Following his release, he embarked upon a spate of killings. First Shekar and Umesh in 2003, Guddu in 2005, Amit in 2006 and Upender and Dalip in 2007. He would befriend migrant labourers from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and help them get small jobs. Later, petty disputes over things like smoking, lying or being non-vegetarian would lead him to murder them by strangulation.[2] Chandrakant took pleasure in taunting the police by leaving dismembered body parts around the city and outside the Tihar Jail with notes daring the police to catch him. He was found guilty on three counts of murder and received two death sentences and life imprisonment until death in February, 2013[3] His death sentences were commuted to life imprisonment without remission in January 2016.[4] Chandrakant worked as a hawker in Delhi weekly bazaars. He married twice, abandoning the first within one year. He has five daughters with his second wife. What was behind the drive to motivate you to actually summit Mount Everest and then run more than 500 km for your next challenge?Question 2: How did you prepare for Everest last May? I read that you have climbed more than 15 other mountains. Which ones have you hiked and where were they? The last time I looked, I only saw 2 mountains in Manitoba. Also, how are you training for your distance run? Question 3: When I read that 2/6 of those you were hiking with didn’t make it back down, I wondered how on the earth you could prepare yourself for something like this? What mental strength did you need to develop to handle the things that you saw? Was there any point that it crossed your mind to turn around knowing you have a family back home? Question 4: What physical toll did the hike take on your body? And is it true that it takes 2 months to hike to the summit? Take me through the hike from start to finish.Question 5: How did this experience change you? Dalip was a fun and energetic guest on Accelerate OC.  He is a super active and busy guy, with a full-time job as head of business development at Vincit, a contract software development firm, as well as a startup, Eva Smart Shower, and several other volunteer efforts at OC Tech Happy Hour, Tech Coast Venture Network, YEC and Forge 54.  Dalip is also involved with a new group here, Coded in OC, which is bringing together companies here who are developing software here in Orange County.  Dalip is getting more member companies involved.He sold his company, Devise Interactive, to Vincit last year, which he started while he was still finishing his degree at Cal State Fullerton.  And he only finished there about 5 years ago!Dalip is also a member of the Forbes Technology Council, sharing his insights globally on the Forbes platform.Dalip is big on technology and purpose, so we always have a lot to talk about when we're together.
