The Adult Improver series returns to Perpetual Chess to welcome Omar Mills (aka ChessvonDoom) to the podcast. Omar fell in love with chess during the pandemic and has learned some unexpected lessons through the thousands of games he has played in subsequent years. He learned that chess improvement and maintaining a disciplined study routine  is much harder than he ever could have guessed, but that you can learn a lot about yourself through the game nonetheless. In a new Chessable course, Chess Destiny: Lessons from an Adult Improver and his Coach, Omar collaborates with popular YouTuber NM Robert Ramirez to share some of these unexpected chess and life lessons. These lessons include: What does Omar call “the rule of three?”  What has playing the bass taught Omar about chess improvement? Did you like this episode? Send us a text message and share your thoughts! In this episode of Cow-Side Conversations, Kendra Nissley of Jubilee Dairy in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania wraps up Women's History Month by sharing about her journey on the farm and trying to find a sense of balance in it all. While farming and family often go hand in hand, it can be challenging to prioritize your children, your marriage and your own needs when the day-to-day responsibilities on the farm are so demanding. Kendra reflects on some intentional decisions she and her husband, Jeff, have made in their journey to invest in employees, navigate the transition process between generations, and rely closely on outside experts – or as she says, “heroes” – to help them finetune the details and execute new plans. From sustainability projects and boosting pounds of butterfat to a value-added cheese business and grants that help them save money, Kendra opens up about lessons they've learned along the way. She says it's a neverending balancing act and an ongoing process of asking their family: How can we steward this farm so we farm it and it does not farm us?”

The Happy Hustle Podcast

Have you ever stopped to reflect on the lessons life has taught you so far? In this special episode of the Happy Hustle Podcast, I'll share my 35 life lessons broken down using our "S.O.U.L.M.A.P.P.I.N" system, which is all about harmonizing ambition and well-being. So whether you're looking to improve your personal growth, relationships, or health, this episode has something to guide you through it.These aren't just ideas; they're actionable truths that I've been my compass on this crazy journey. Selfless Service is amongst the greatest joy one can feel. Giving to others without reciprocation in mind breeds good karma. Empathy is a powerful gift you can give anyone. Optimized Health is the key piece to the puzzle of a beautiful life. Without ENERGY, Happy Hustlin' becomes irrelevant. Little habits breed big results. It's more about what you don't do than what you do. Unplugging Digitally is a requirement for holistic happiness. Discipline and barriers are amongst the swords to slay the digital dragon. When you fall victim to the viral vortex, go outside and be with nature. Loving Relationships are the fabric for a warm blanket in a winter storm. LOVE is effort multiplied intentionally. Put your partner's needs over your wants and you'll have peace and love. Fatherhood has single handedly provided the greatest emotional love peak of my human existence. Mindful Spirituality means knowing and trusting GOD. 5 minutes of daily affirmations and I AM statements will help manifest your dream reality. Do not purposefully suspend your critical thinking to blindly follow a religion, rather question everything to determine what you truly believe and why. Abundance Financially provides freedom. Money is a store of value, use your energy wisely to attain it and your intellect wisely when trading it. More money makes you more of who you really are. Money won't buy you sustained joy, only temporary happiness. Personal Development is the art of inner growth. Intentionally choose what enters your conscious and subconscious to ensure positive evolution, then find a mentor who can help expedite the journey. Take advice only from those who you would literally trade places with both personally and professionally. Passionate Hobbies are a breath of fresh air for entrepreneurs who have been underwater for too long. DO fun things that bring you pleasure, guilt-free. Creativity is sparked when you escape the invisible fence you've been caged in. Choose something that brings you joy, that will grow your skills, and involves others you want to be around.. Then do it regularly every week. Impactful Work is at the intersection of passion, purpose, and positive impact. The Happy Hustle has changed my life by proving that you can have personal and professional life balance. It is possible to systematically harmonize ambition & well-being, the Happy Hustle shows you how. Solve a problem that you care about with a solution you can profit from. Nature connection is mandatory for mental health. God designed us to be a part of nature, not just visit it. Happy Hustlin' means protecting those and that which we love, including nature. These are the 35 life lessons I've learned over the years so far. I hope these insights resonate with you and help guide you on your own journey to harmonizing ambition and well-being. If you're looking to take these lessons further, dive into the full episode of The Happy Hustle Podcast where I break them down in more detail.Connect with Cary!https://www.instagram.com/caryjack/https://www.facebook.com/SirCaryJackhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/cary-jack-kendzior/https://twitter.com/thehappyhustlehttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFDNsD59tLxv2JfEuSsNMOQ/featured Get a free copy of his new book, The Happy Hustle, 10 Alignments to Avoid Burnout & Achieve Blissful Balance https://www.thehappyhustle.com/bookSign up for The Journey: 10 Days To Become a Happy Hustler Online Coursehttps://thehappyhustle.com/thejourney/Apply to the Montana Mastermind Epic Camping Adventurehttps://thehappyhustle.com/mastermind/“It's time to Happy Hustle, a blissfully balanced life you love, full of passion, purpose, and positive impact!”Episode Sponsor: Magnesium Breakthrough from BiOptimizers (https://bioptimizers.com/happy)If you've been on a restricted diet lately or maybe even taken some meds to shed those pounds for the summer, I gotta warn ya—be careful! Hear about the epic journey of embracing pain for personal growth, as I recount my ultramarathon experience across the iconic Ravenel Bridge in Charleston, South Carolina. This wasn't just a test of physical endurance, but a powerful tribute to families battling cancer through Breaking Ribbons. Along the way, I faced the harsh realities of weather, relentless inclines, and the psychological warfare that comes with pushing beyond perceived boundaries, all while surrounded by a community that believed in the impossible.Join me as I unravel the layers of challenging limits and overcoming doubt. Imagine starting a monumental run at 3:30 a.m. amidst 86-degree temperatures and no cloud cover to shield you. Through the searing pain and mental battles, I discovered that the journey wasn't just about the destination, but the lessons learned along the way. Even as exhaustion loomed near mile 80, the strength found in brief moments of rest and community support illuminated the path to not just finishing but thriving.Discover how extraordinary goals demand a powerful support system and the resilience that comes from teamwork. Interior Design for the Soul: 5 Life Lessons to Elevate Your Self-Image One crucial aspect of embracing contrast in life is recognizing and integrating all facets of oneself, including the shadow side. Tonya Leigh explores the significance of embracing contrast in interior design and how it can be applied to life. Just as in design, where contrasting elements can add depth and richness, embracing the diverse aspects of our personalities enables us to explore neglected or denied facets of ourselves, fostering personal growth and self-acceptance. Tonya stresses the concept of the shadow side, a term introduced by psychologist Carl Jung, which refers to the darker, less desirable aspects of our personalities that we often try to conceal or suppress. She underscores the importance of not only showcasing our positive traits but also acknowledging and accepting the parts of ourselves that may not always be bright and cheerful. Known for his spot-on celebrity impressions and his role in MTV's Wild 'N Out, Brent's comedic genius offers a unique lens through which we can view and laugh at ourselves and the world around us. Brent's humor isn't just about punchlines – it's about sparking joy, thought, and conversation – by poking fun at relatable and relevant issues. We also explore Brent's personal journey with plant medicine and psychedelics, and how these experiences have shaped his consciousness and creativity. From microdosing psilocybin to his deep dives with ayahuasca, Brent shares candidly about the challenges and insights gained from these practices and the advice he'd offer to future voyagers.Along the way, we tackle topics like the importance of humor for mental health, the impact of government propaganda, and the erosion of trust in mainstream media – plus, his thoughts on whether anything should be off-limits in comedy. We completed the LA Marathon on March 17, 2024 and learned so much throughout the process that I know can be applied to many different areas of life.    Rather than give you tips for how to remain dedicated or consistent, I am sharing with you 4 “When you Embrace…” statements learned through the past 6 months that carried us through the training and helped us stay focused on our why.    Don't get me wrong, dedication, consistency & accountability are all important and necessary AND I believe after this episode you will be able to take a deep breath and have a fresh & peaceful perspective on how you can continue to live with vision and reach your goals in life!    Scriptures referenced:  Hebrews 12:11 NIV Hebrews 12:6 NIV   I pray this blesses you,  Xoxo Coach Joy    Ready to do the work?!  Join the Joyful Fit Life Community: https://joyful-fit-life.mn.co   Get your Gifts:  Check out the “30 Days to Becoming” email: https://www.thejoyfulfitlife.com/39581/30-day-email-landing-page/ Join our FREE FB group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2486808534941816   Connect with me here: IG: https://www.instagram.com/joyfulfit_life/ Email: joy@thejoyfulfitlife.com
