Rookie private lenders that have to sell in a downturn are a potential threat to credit markets, according to Citi. “If the cycle turns and these tourists, rather than working out loans, just start selling them at below the economic value — what happens to the rest of the market?” Mickey Bhatia, the firm’s head of spread products, tells Bloomberg News’ James Crombie and Bloomberg Intelligence’s Sam Geier in this episode of the Credit Edge podcast. “That’s a big worry,” says Bhatia. They also discuss global fund flows, investment in AI infrastructure and expansion of electronic trading to incorporate collateralized loan obligations.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this episode of Real Estate Breakthrough, host Christina Sudter sits down with Sanjiv B., founder and president of LME Investments, for a raw, on-the-ground conversation about what's really happening in the LA multifamily market right now. With 40 years of experience and 35+ properties under his belt, Sanjiv shares why this moment is different from any cycle he's lived through, and why the "extend and pretend" strategy is finally breaking. You'll discover his secret sauce for thriving in a supply-constrained, heavily regulated market: conservative underwriting that stress-tests every deal, in-house property management (the "thankless job" that separates real operators from tourists), and a long-term hold strategy that insulates investors from market timing risk. He also opens up about his niche focus on veterans and Section 8 housing, how he turns regulatory chaos into opportunity, and the hard lessons learned from decades of deals, including the ones that went wrong. If you've ever wondered whether Los Angeles still makes sense for multifamily investing, or if you're looking for a window into what real value-add looks like in a complex market, this conversation is your boots-on-the-ground intelligence. Sanjiv also announces his new LA Multifamily Value Add Fund, offering passive investors a chance to deploy capital into a market that's finally ripe for entry. Whether you're an LP investor, an aspiring syndicator, or just someone who loves hearing from operators who've seen it all, this episode delivers the kind of street-level insight you won't find in any newsletter. #LAMultifamily #RealEstateInvesting #ValueAddInvesting #MultifamilyFund #MarketCycle #PropertyManagement #PassiveInvesting
Andy and Brendan are just about ready to head down to Ponte Vedra for a "major" March event, but we've already missed out on one Players tradition! Andy can't believe that the yearly TPC Sawgrass arrival videos did not make it into Sunday's Arnold Palmer Invitational broadcast. NBC couldn't cut away from a duel between Daniel Berger and Akshay Bhatia on the back nine that ended with Akshay's third playoff win on the PGA Tour. The two break down Bhatia's comeback win and standing in the game as one of the premier players under the age of 25. The constant comparisons between Rickie Fowler and Arnold Palmer and some complaints from Justin Thomas regarding the setup at Bay Hill also feature prominently in this Arnold Palmer Invitational recap. The Players DID release their featured groups on Sunday afternoon, leaving a spot for an injured(?) Rory McIlroy and a struggling Justin Thomas to be on non-stop coverage for the first two rounds. Andy's "Event of the Week," the Puerto Rico Open, was "must see TV" with a leaderboard full of young talent including John Daly II, Blades Brown, and winner Ricky Castillo. Patrick Reed notched another DP World Tour top 10, but could not stop the blaze of Dan Bradbury at the Joburg Open. Brendan then shifts the conversation to Jon Rahm's win at LIV Hong Kong, his first individual win since 2024. Neither Brendan nor Andy are moved much by this win for Rahm and point out that maybe playing a LIV schedule is not the best preparation for a major championship, unlike the test presented by Bay Hill this week. Lastly on results, Zach Johnson is one-for-one in his Champs Tour career, taking down the James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational! Sorry to all Ben Crane bettors, as he finished outside of the top 30 in his Senior Tour debut. This Gambling Podcast regrets the error. Check back on Tuesday as Andy and Brendan go live(?) to preview the 2026 Players Championship! Thank you to Optum for their support of our Players Championship coverage.

Akshay Bhatia delivered one of the most electric Sundays of the PGA Tour season at Bay Hill, draining over 144 feet of putts and storming back to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational in a playoff. Smylie Kaufman and Charlie Hulme break down how Bhatia's short game carried him to victory on brutally firm, “crispy” greens that had the entire field on edge all week. The guys also dive into Daniel Berger's incredible comeback, analyzing the encouraging signs after nearly two years battling injuries and setbacks. Plus, they discuss strong performances from Ludvig Åberg, Cam Young, and Collin Morikawa, what it means heading into THE PLAYERS Championship, and why Bay Hill's setup produced one of the most entertaining tournaments of the season. And of course, things get chaotic when Judge Jaxon Brown enters the courtroom to rule on the Rory McIlroy withdrawal in the show's One-and-Done contest.Follow us on socials @thesmylieshow ⛳️ & don't forget to like, comment, & subscribe for more golf insight ✅CHAPTERS:0:00 – Bay Hill delivers2:06 – Golf season is officially back3:08 – Bay Hill's greens4:14 – Smylie's “Snap, Crackle, Pop” crispy greens rankings6:47 – Major championship courses with the craziest greens10:15 – Akshay Bhatia21:04 – The clutch putts that saved Bhatia's round23:40 – Daniel Berger29:13 – Bay Hill's intimidating visuals and pressure moments31:10 – Scottie Scheffler34:12 – Cam Young37:04 – Ludvig Åberg38:12 – Collin Morikawa38:48 – The Rory McIlroy One-and-Done controversy47:36 – Ryder Cup49:00 – Luke Donald's leadership and Europe's continuity50:30 – Could Tiger Woods captain the U.S.?55:30 - Jon Rahm1:10:00 – Closing thoughts and wrap-up#pgatour #golfpodcast #smylieshow #smyliekaufman #golfhighlights

AI is transforming the world—but is it transforming privacy for better or for risk? We trust our GP with our deepest secrets, but can we extend that same trust to AI-powered systems and cloud-based suppliers? And if AI can re-identify people even in anonymized research data, is “anonymous” still real anymore? In this episode, Punit Bhatia and Tania Palmariellodiviney reveals how AI tools reshape confidentiality, integrity, availability, cloud sprawl, supplier risk, clinical transcription accuracy, re-identification, and even personal fears like voice-based deepfakes. The voice of experience rings clear: digital trust isn't a checkbox…it's engineered early with transparency, responsible data use, privacy by design, and safety by design.
This podcast is an open-ended conversation with Dr (Captain) Bikram S. Bhatia about how he became interested in researching seafarers hours of rest and work. From family expectations to workplace realities, it is Bikram's search for meaning and purpose. It is a lesson in understanding that our questions and our curiosity cannot be separated from our research. The formal and the informal; the subjective and the objective; the researcher and the research are always in a dance. I always imagined this conversation to be a cafe chat between two ex-mariners - informal and replete with stories of past ships. I could have titled this podcast many things:
The Constitution promises freedom, but really, how free are we under its design? In 2025, India's Constitution turned seventy-five: a remarkable testament to endurance and adaptability. Yet, beneath its promise of liberty lies a constant negotiation of power. Gautam Bhatia examines the Constitution not just as a legal document, but as a dynamic terrain where visions of authority clash, intersect, and contend for supremacy. Central to this story is the drift toward centralisation: power increasingly concentrated in the union executive. While certain elements of this concentration are embedded in the Constitution's design, landmark Supreme Court judgments have, at key moments, accelerated the trend. This talk explores how these structures shape, channel, and sometimes constrain the possibilities for emancipation. Through a careful reading of the Constitution's text, history, and interpretations, Bhatia sheds light on the subtle (and often contested) mechanisms that govern India's democracy. A Q&A will follow, giving audiences a chance to engage with these questions of power, freedom, and the ongoing relevance of India's constitutional experiment. About Vijay Nambisan:One of the best poet-writers of his generation, Vijay Nambisan is known as much for his poetry and prose, as he is for his reclusiveness. He dropped out of IIT Madras in his fourth year of engineering to pursue his love for the written word. He won the first All India British Council Poetry Prize in 1988, worked for a number of years in the literary section of The Hindu and published collections of poetry and prose in his inimitable style. He was married to surgeon and novelist, Kavery Nambisan. In this episode of BIC Talks, Gautam Bhatia delivers a talk.
