The content of the podcast is so incredible, it is such an inspiring episode.Today's guest is Emma Lewisham, founder of her namesake beauty brand. Hailing from New Zealand, the brand was born from Emma's personal desire for products that were truly clean and sustainable, but also delivered real, scientifically-validated results. Growing up, Emma was surrounded by strong female role models she was inspired by women who took risks and embraced challenges. Emma's grandmother was one of the first female CEOs in NZ, and her mother was a business owner and entrepreneur. Fearlessness and confidence was naturally wired into her. So she left her corporate career and after 5 years of research she launched with one product: the Skin Reset Serum, which is scientifically proven to prevent and reverse the signs of hyperpigmentation, dullness, age spots, and uneven skin tone.It saw immediate success, and the brand has been in high demand all over the world ever since. In our conversation we talk about Emma's commitment to sustainability. Her entire supply chain is fully traceable, every ingredient used is of the highest quality, and recently the brand announced its carbon positive status — an accolade that was incredibly supported by Jane Goodall. Emma truly believes that in life and work there are two options: either comfort or courage - her view is that you can't have both. Hearing about her amazing journey, her definition of the word clean and learning more about her science-backed formulation it is clear to see that Emma has achieved her goal of creating a new benchmark in beauty. And in the process Emma is inspiring the next generation of women including her young daughter to follow their dreams, step up to challenges and live a courageous life.Last product you purchased - Nars black eyeliner MeccaWhat's been your best beauty discovery this year - Meditation, Emma got back into it during lockdown - beauty comes from the insideYour desert island skincare product - Emma Lewisham Skin Shield SPF 30 Professional treatment you swear by - Acupuncture once a month.        Best piece of beauty or wellness advice you can share - Wear SPF, drink lots of water, plant based diet, exercise, smile, all the simple things, doing them consistently. You can follow Emma Lewisham on Instagram @emmalewisham For complete show notes for this episode and for links to products mentioned head to:www.thegreenedit.com.au/podcast  And if there's anything you want to hear on future episodes let us know on Instagram @thegreenedit_au  www.thegreenedit.com.au  And finally, if you love listening, please rate, review and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Thanks so much for listening and for being a part of our conscious community, we are thrilled to have you!

EPISODE 158./Hello pod family, and a very big hello to everyone who participated in our walk/run challenge over the weekend!! Your stickers are on their way, and please DM us if you have a profile on private because we may not have seen your participation. This week, Alex was blindsided by a launch from Glossier with the launch of their new Monochrome Eyeshadow trios. Speaking of eyeshadow palettes, Jaclyn Hill has collaborated with Morphe again to bring out an Autumnal delight of a neutral palette. The biggest beauty news this week, globally, is that Emma Lewisham has announced that they are the first beauty brand to become Carbon Positive. This means that they are not only carbon neutral… they're offsetting more carbon than they produce. But there's more, they've gone one step further to share the blueprint for how they did this with every other beauty company. Truly an amazing step forward for the beauty industry and our planet. Also in beauty news, Laneige have released a brand new essence like oil serum, ModiBodi have released (a few weeks ago) adaptive underwear and we're late but need to discuss it, and NetaPorter have TODAY released their advent calendar. To finish the ep, we're ending with beauty faves, some extensive non beauty faves and snaaaacks. The beauty industry currently produces 120 billion units of waste every year and the majority of it can't be recycled curbside and is going to landfill. Now, a Kiwi entrepreneur Emma Lewisham has managed to make her brand of the same name the world first carbon positive beauty brand. She says “we could see that this was a problem and a customer problem […] so we've designed our product so that it can be refilled and reused.” When the packaging is finished with Emma Lewisham will globally take the packaging back free of charge and either reuse it or pay to have it recycled. Packaging can be returned to retailers in New Zealand or online orders can get a free shipping label with the order. As a result of her efforts, Lewisham's earned the stamp of approval from famous environmentalist Dr Jane Goodall. Lewisham says she looked up to Goodall throughout her childhood and wanted to write to her to let her know of the they were doing. Lewisham says she didn't expect a response but Goodall wrote back with a testimonial, which Lewisham describes as a dream come true. Goodall says the brand has set a new benchmark not just for the beauty industry, but for all. “I sincerely hope that the beauty industry can follow Emma Lewisham's lead. I believe they're paving the way for the future.” Goodall says.

This week, we're talking about a rumoured Harry Styles romance that we can truly get behind; the question of whether we're all ageing right (or completely wrong); Lizzo's long-overdue Vogue cover - and the confused personal branding of post-Megxit Harry and Meghan. Then, it's onto dissecting the This Is Paris - Paris Hilton's equal parts compelling and confusing documentary/personal branding exercise. Some points made in the documentary are prescient. Hilton rightly forces the public to reframe the frankly gross perception to the release of the infamous 'sex tape'. And she shares a harrowing story of abuse from a reform school her parents sent her to as a teenager. But parts of the documentary feel... shallow. Paris wants us to see the 'real her' - but what is it? And how do we empathise with her, while still finding her lasting obsession with money and fame... uncomfortable? This episode of After Work Drinks was brought to you by Dan Murphy's and their brand spanking new Seltzers range.
