Why a Dexter Lawrence Trade Is Unlikely + Vikings Pick 18 TE Option and 7-Round Mock Draft — Tyler Forness and producer Dave discuss Dexter Lawrence's trade request from the Giants, driven by his desire for a raise in the $27M/year range, and why a Vikings trade is highly unlikely despite his elite pass-rushing nose tackle impact. They explain the steep acquisition cost (likely a first-plus) and major cap hurdles, noting Minnesota would need to clear over $15M to absorb his ~$20M cap hit before an extension, requiring big moves like a Jonathan Greenard trade and a Brian O'Neill extension. They also highlight Oregon TE Kenyon Sadiq as an intriguing 18th-overall option, citing his athletic testing and value in heavy personnel, plus future succession planning with T.J. Hockenson. The show ends with a seven-round mock draft featuring a trade down from 18 and selections including KC Concepcion, Christen Miller, AJ Haulcy, Jadarian Price, Ahmari Harvey, Deontae Lawson, John Michael Gyllenborg, Matt Gulbin, Eric Gentry, and Jalen Catalon. 00:00 Dexter Lawrence Trade Buzz 02:20 Contract Cost Breakdown 03:55 Vikings Fit and Impact 05:59 Cap Space Roadblocks 08:00 Draft Capital Opportunity Cost 10:27 Dave Weighs In 14:48 Why It's Unrealistic Now 18:14 Trade Value and Future Picks 21:48 Asset Management Explained 27:30 Show Updates and Draft Prep 28:43 Kenyon Sadiq TE Prospect 30:16 Kyler Murray Personnel Stats 31:49 Sadiq Role Vision 33:37 Draft Value Debate 34:42 Dave Weighs In 36:26 Vikings Tight End History 38:36 Mock Draft Kickoff 39:35 Round One Strategy 41:12 Caleb Downs Slide Talk 43:31 Trade Down And Pick 44:52 Round Two Defensive Tackle 47:04 Round Three Secondary Loadup 48:25 Running Back Surprise 51:26 Day Three Development Picks 52:07 Seventh Round Fliers 54:44 Simulator Grades Wrap 55:43 Show Closing Notes _____________________________________________________________ ⭐️ Subscribe to us here! - https://www.youtube.com/@vikings1stskol92 ⭐️ Our Twitter can be found at @Vikings1stSKOL ⭐️ Our Discord at https://discord.com/invite/493z6mQXcN ⭐️ Tyler Forness can be read at A to Z Sports - https://atozsports.com/nfl/minnesota-vikings-news/ ⭐️ Submit questions: forms.gle/7LJkCAern9kdUkuD8 ⭐️ On Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/vikings1standskol ⭐️ Watch the live show here: https://youtu.be/fPoRsY-QBUY Fan With Us!!! Vikings Draft Strategy: Identifying Talent Cliffs and Maximizing the Board — Tyler Forness and producer Dave discuss NFL Draft “talent cliffs” and how the Vikings can maximize value by anticipating position drop-offs and using consensus boards to check individual evaluations. Forness outlines perceived cliffs across positions: a thin quarterback class after Fernando Mendoza; a running back cliff after Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price; a deep wide receiver group into late round two; a tight end class led by Kenyon Sadiq with depth into day three; a sharp offensive tackle drop after the top seven; limited interior OL options once top centers/guards go; tiered edge and a weak defensive tackle class; and deep cornerback and safety groups that could allow waiting until day two. Using an A to Z Sports draft simulator, they run a seven-round Vikings mock emphasizing these cliffs, selecting Kenyon Sadiq, D'Angelo Ponds, Gracen Halton, Bud Clark, Kaleb Proctor, J. In this week's message from Romans 8:28–30, Eric helps us see that one of the most beloved promises in Scripture—“God works all things for good”—is even richer than we often realize. Rather than getting stuck on the word predestined, Eric shows how Paul is describing God's purpose for His people: to shape us into the image of His Son and draw us into a Jesus-shaped calling in the world. This passage isn't mainly about a debate over salvation but about a vocation—God forming His children into people whose suffering, prayers, and Spirit-filled lives help bring His healing to a broken creation. Eric reminds us that every struggle and every interceding prayer is gathered up by God into something meaningful and glorious. If you need encouragement that your life, your pain, and your purpose truly matter, this message will strengthen your faith and lift your eyes.

In this week's message from Romans 8, Eric reminds us that while the world is groaning and far from what it should be, Scripture names that reality honestly—and then gives us a hope big enough to hold it. Paul shows that our own longing for things to be made right is tied to something deeper: as God's adopted children and co-heirs with Christ, we are being pulled toward a future glory where suffering gives way to purpose, presence, and renewal. Eric unpacks how Christ's path from suffering to glory becomes our path too, and how creation itself is waiting for God's sons and daughters to receive their full inheritance. This message reframes struggle, restores hope, and reveals the surprising connection between our transformation and the healing of the world. If you need encouragement today, this sermon will lift your eyes and anchor your heart.

Through a powerful look at the cultural moment we're living in, he asks, “How is the Truth doing?” and shows how God is bringing a surprising comeback as people hunger again for something real, solid, and trustworthy. Eric shares why the Spirit of Truth will never be extinguished and how our support of missionaries allows us to join in what God is already doing in the world. This sermon is a call to invest in what the Spirit is investing in—and to rediscover the kind of truth that lets our hearts finally rest.

This week's message from Romans 8:12–17 invites us to see the Christian life through two powerful callings—aspiration and mortification. Eric reminds us that while God has made us more than conquerors through Christ, we still face a daily battle with the “kudzu” of sin that tries to reclaim the ground God has freed. But we do not fight alone: the Spirit empowers us to put sin to death and to become who God envisions us to be. And as adopted sons and daughters of God, we fight not out of fear but out of identity—heirs with Christ, led by the Spirit, crying “Abba, Father.” This sermon is a strong encouragement to step into your freedom and live as the child of God you truly are.

Through the words, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine,” we see a God whose love is constant—even when we fail to keep our promises, He keeps His. Eric reminded us that our identity isn't found in what we do or deserve, but in whose we are. God made us, saved us, and calls us by name, welcoming us into His covenant family with full rights and belonging. No matter how far we've wandered, there is always a “But now…” moment waiting for us—because He does not change. In this message, we see that humility isn't just a personality trait—it's a daily choice to trust God's strength, timing, and care. In Psalm 23:1–3, David makes a bold claim: “The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.” But how can that be true when we often feel empty, restless, or in need? In this message, Eric Gentry shows how the rest of the psalm explains this radical promise—our Shepherd feeds us until we can rest, protects us when predators circle, and leads us on right paths for His glory. Unlike lions, who are always hungry and vulnerable, sheep with a strong shepherd are fully provided for and secure. Eric reminds us that God's provision isn't just about meeting our needs, but about displaying His name to the world through His care for His people. But Eric helps us see that the comfort of this verse isn't in what we hold, but in who holds us. Behind the title “the LORD” is God's personal name, the great I AM—the One who is completely self-sufficient and unlimited in both resources and love. Unlike us, He never runs out, never tires, and never fails to provide. When Jesus says, “I am the Good Shepherd,” He is claiming Psalm 23 for Himself, and promising us the same truth: with Him, there is no lack.
