The Executive PA Summit takes place September 7th and 8th at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Dublin. Full agenda here. For more information and to register, visit www.executivepaforum.com When and where is it on? The Radisson Blu Royal Hotel Dublin How many years has it been going? Since 2010! We had called it the Executive PA Forum for many years and just this year have re-branded to the Executive PA Summit. The Executive PA Forum is now our new Membership platform. Executive PA Summit comes to Dublin September 7th and 8th What was the inspiration to start it? I founded Zoom In Conferences & Events in 2009 when I returned from working at a conference production company in Sydney. I recognised there were so many conferences in Ireland for every function of the business – HR, IT, Finance, Sales, C-Suite – but there was nothing for EAs and PAs. From speaking to many Irish business and executive support professionals during those early days, it was evident that this group of professionals felt undervalued and overlooked when it came to training – and so myself and my sister Aisling were compelled on a mission to change that – our 2 x day conference was born! The Executive PA Summit is Ireland's only conference and training event for this group of professional. What exciting things can people look forward to? This is the first time since 2019 that we'll all be in a room together for the conference – it's the shared learning experience and camaraderie which sets up the optimum learning environment for our PA and EA community. The role can be very solitary so having the opportunity to get in a room with like-minded professionals and discuss challenges together, swap contacts, while sharing and soaking up knowledge, it's priceless! What opportunities are on offer for those attending? We will be launching Ireland's first Executive PA Diploma at the Summit in partnership with Adam Fidler Academy – you've heard it exclusively here first! Those attending the Summit will have first refusal on enrolling for 2023. We'll also have a careers clinic hosted by Siobhan Kelly who is a career consultant and founder of Mosaic Consultancy. Siobhan is excellent at giving advice from both the perspective of the employer and the EA or PA when it comes to crafting a successful career path as a business support professional. We'll have some great prizes and giveaways on the day thanks to our sponsors and partners and we'll have a few surprise guests! Through our new partnership with Miss Jones Ireland we'll be giving away some free Premium Memberships to a number of lucky delegates. Miss Jones is a club and directory with a concierge service that acts as the ‘PA to the PA' who needs assistance booking venues and suppliers. Who will be speaking? Speakers and topics on Wednesday September 7th include: -Siobhain Danaher, Lean Business Strategist – Decision Fatigue -Derek Kearney, Senior EA & Comms Lead, LinkedIn – Stepping out of your comfort zone as an EA -Siobhan Kelly – Careers clinic and advice on crafting your career as an EA in 2022 and beyond -Renowned international coach and trainer Adam Fidler – Demonstrating added value and maximising your contribution as an EA -Paula Brady, Performance Improver, former Executive Assistant and FIFA Referee will discuss performance improvement as your opportunity for growth -Fiona Flynn, EI and Executive Coach on Building Your Ambition with Confidence -Simon Cocking, Chief Editor, Irish Tech News hosts Tech Talk: 2022 Advances in technology and what they mean for the Support role -Lisa Mitten, Vision & Leadership Coach & Mentor will lead a reflective but motivational session to plan your next steps in your professional development journey. Workshop Facilitators and Topics on September 8th include: -Understanding Human Performance – The 6 Universal Human Needs and Success Patterns every smart EA should know, with Therese Phipps, Personal Development Strategist -Eileen Blishen, Conflict & Dispute Resolution speciali...

Overnight success usually comes from an awful lot of hard work and for Fiona Flynn and her students that's certainly the case. It may seem like everything the talented soprano touches turns to gold, but behind the scenes at her music school, Flynn Performing Arts, it takes time as well as talent to bring out the best in her students. The waiting list is long to get into the school that Fiona established six years ago – but that's no real surprise. Scrolling through its Facebook page brings up post after post on the terrific achievements by her students, from Feis to TV shows, to stage performances for the school and even some children performing across the water in the West End. For this week's podcast, Fiona tells us all about her journey from the Ulster orchestra to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, as she built the career that she loves. She speaks about the hard work that goes into any performance, the pride she feels for her students achievements – big or small, and tells us whether she believes anyone can carry a tune -or not!
