The opening ceremony of the 2012 Paralympic Games in London was heralded as one of the most spectacular and successful outdoor theatrical events in the world, watched by more than 3.8 billion people. Now in its 27th year, he tells Anna Bailey about the key elements that make for a great and accessible outdoor event. Follow Bradley as he puts together the line-up for this year's festival and coordinates the opening night. Peter Hudson speaks to Flash and Geevesy about the Hawthorn Legends guernsey, the state of the game, the art of goal kicking and the Tasmanian AFL licence push.
Peter Hudson is arguably the greatest goalkicker the game has ever seen. Hudson was a tall beanpole from Tassie who carved out the most amazing career in front of goal. He played 129 games for Hawthorn and kicked 727 goals with a career average of 5.64 goals per game. He would reach the 100 goal milestone on 5 occasions and shares the record of 150 goals in a single season with Bob Pratt in 1971. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Imagine flying in to play a game of footy in a helicopter? Well, Peter Hudson did just that, in the one and only match he played in the 1973 season, the Hawks came calling and the big forward delivered with eight goals, whilst not enough to secure the win and a push into the finals, the tall Tasmanian created some memories of a unique means of getting to a match.

But it wasn't. Here, as called by Harry Beitzel and Bill Jacobs, Peter kicks eight goals and three behinds against Collingwood at VFL Park Photo: FoxSports See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Peter Hudson reflects on life after sport and offers his words of wisdom for Jarryd Roughead following his retirement from the Hawthorn Hawks.
Goalkicking machine Simon Minton-Connell is the first guest on the Western Bulldogs' brand-new podcast, Glory Days. Following the success of the debut season of Freedom in a Cage, Bob Murphy is back behind the microphone for a series of podcasts for the NAB Trade and Draft hub on westernbulldogs.com.au, powered by Mercedes-Benz Vans. Weekly during the October and November player movement period, Bob will welcome a current or past great of the Club for a chat about their career, the influence the Bulldogs had on them, the characters they played with and against, and everything in between. Minton-Connell had a storied league career in the 1980s and 90s, which began at Carlton and saw him transfer to Sydney then Hawthorn, before playing out his final two years at Whitten Oval. Episode one of Glory Days explores his fearsome debut against Collingwood, the superstar team-mates he called his best mates, the opposition he respected and feared, his uncle Peter Hudson, and the momentum of Terry Wallace's Dogs in the 1997 season.
Peter Hudson, Assistant Professor of African American Studies at UCLA, discusses his new book, Bankers and Empire: How Wall Street Colonized the Caribbean, and uncovering a lost history of wealth in the Caribbean.

Currently, he oversees the development and quality of medical information and experience on all iTriage platforms, a technology that helps consumers answer the two most common medical questions: "What could be wrong?", "Where can I go for care?" and "Does my insurance cover my treatment?" Guerra is a serial healthcare entrepreneur with a deep commitment to helping consumers make better healthcare decisions. Along with his Co-founder, Dr. Peter Hudson, he was listed as a top innovator reinventing healthcare in CNN Money 2012. Int his interview, Dr. Guerra discusses becoming an entrepreneur and critical elements of health delivery like transparency and using information for empowerment.
On the Wednesday, November 13th 2013 broadcast at 10AM Pacific/1PM Eastern our special guests are two innovators and disruptors of the legacy healthcare economy Peter Hudson, MD and Wayne Guerra MD. Two enterprising emergency medicine physicians who saw opportunity in the convergence between the mobile 'smart' phone and the 'real time' or elective need to access local and appropriate healthcare resources. Via a revolutionary mobile appiTriage aka @iTriage on twitter both Peter and Wayne have delivered and in a big way. Both of these forward leaning docs can be found on twitter via @wayneguerra and peterhudsonMD respectively, which incidentally is where and how I fist met Wayne while Peter is a more recent convert to the medium. The iTriage and Healthagen unfolding story is both fascinating and ambitious, and via their collective thoughts we'll gain insight into the overall strategy they envision - at least from their seats in the glidepath. Join me and my partner Dr Pat Salber as we learn more about the Aetna fueled yet payor agnostic ecosystem Healthagen intends co-create. Program note: if you need more evidence than the fact that all three of these physicians including my partner Dr. Pat Salber are trained Emergency Physicians who have stepped into leadership and innovation in a big way, then I don't know what else to say. ER docs rule! Join us!

21 Jan 2013 Mark Dolan Nunhead American Radio with Lewis Schaffer. The only radio program for Americans living in Nunhead and for all Nunheaders, with a special focus on the increasingly in-demand area of Nunhead Heights. Download NAR_21st_January_2013.mp3 What a fantastic show! Thank you Mark Dolan, comedian, for coming in and being our solo guest. He made me feel amazing. I was wracked with guilt over saying something dirty on the Nick Ferrari LBC radio show Mark got me on back in 2001 or 2002. The Ukes gave us a new opening theme song for the New Year, and that made me giggle. Though I prefer lyrics about me, not just my name. I was pleased when Richard of the Ukes messed up their song, as it showed me some weakness and vulnerability. Peter Hudson and Anna Crockatt ably and loving played. Peter on the chimey bell thingy. Normally, it is me who adds the choas to a show. Laura Synthesis Ninetyninepercent gave the song a 9/10. She is our new Listener Representative. Lisa, of course, was funny, though she was asked to write three lines for the Weather of Nunhead and didn't do that. That will not hinder her popularity with audience, nothing does. Chris Dixon needs a microphone, or that may be too many voices. It is brilliant micro-broadcasting all about me, Nunhead, my guests and me! It's always an honor to help throw a party with the Space Cowboys. They are a hard-working, creative, organized, and crazy bunch who just LOVE to get down once everything is all set up. The week before Ghost Ship I volunteered to work on some of the big art, which was a lot of fun because the community around the party is just as fun as the party itself (maybe even more!). Unfortunately I had to leave town for a week, which meant I didn't get to see everything all put together until the night of the event. That night, I entered the hangar and was blown away! What a truly awesome, special thing we get to partake in here in the Bay Area. The art was amazing (from Peter Hudson's CHARON to the hanging, massive viking ship to the interactive puppets). It was a little slice of Burning Man in a 7 hour window. And since I didn't make it to the burn this year, it was just the thing I needed. I chose a set featuring a few classic house tracks to warm up the viking ship dance floor before midnight. The crowd was grooving, and I'm sure you will too. Enjoy! - Trav For more information on Trav visit http://p00p.org Photo courtesy of http://finzw8.photoshelter.com
It's scary to think that the pathogens responsible for some of the most terrifying epidemics in history are still around - they've just gone underground. In this extra portion of her interview with biologist Peter Hudson, Molly asks him about how these dormant diseases affect the way we approach and monitor emerging diseases worldwide.
In this episode, we'll hear parts of three talks from the recent symposium, Exploring the Dynamic Relationship Between Health and the Environment, organized by the American Museum of Natural History's Center for Biodiversity and Conservation. Speakers include Penn State's Peter Hudson, who talks about disease transmission; Oxford's Oliver Pybus, on how genome analysis exonerated health care workers accused of infecting children with HIV; and N.Y.U.'s Martin Blaser on our disappearing stomach flora. Plus, we'll test your knowlege of some recent science in the news. Web sites related to this episode include www.symposia.cbc.amnh.org/health
