In this episode of The Concordia Publishing House Podcast, Elizabeth Pittman is joined by Rev. Dr R. Lee Hagan, author of Faithful, Hopeful, and Bold: Encouragement for the Church. During the episode, Hagan reminds listeners that wherever God's Word is proclaimed, there is hope for His people. Get Hagan's new book at cph.org/hagan. Show NotesOur world is constantly shifting, changing, and moving away from Christianity. This post-Christian culture feels bleak and full of hopelessness for the next generation and the future of our congregations. Yet, the current generations are not the first to have faced this struggle. In his new book, Rev. Dr. R. Lee Hagan brings readers 12 different stories and reflections that address the hopelessness and struggle in today's churches. The book is perfect for church leaders to find spiritual encouragement and strengthen the faith in their own congregations. Hagan discusses the ins and outs of writing the book with host Elizabeth Pittman, as well as how church leaders should respond to the despair felt for the future of the church, how leadership is centered in discipleship, what it means to be bold as a church leader today, and more. QuestionsWhat inspired you to write Faithful, Hopeful, and Bold? Why is it important for us today? The book opens by acknowledging the despair many Christians feel about the future of the church. What do you think are the root causes of that despair, and how should church leaders respond? In the reflection “Small Church, Big Savior,” you highlight the strength that comes from Christ to even the smallest congregations. What encouragement would you give to pastors or leaders of small churches? You mention that even in the closing of congregations, God's Word has not failed. Can you share a story or moment that illustrates that truth? In “Living as Exiles,” you compare our current culture to the exile experience in Scripture. How can congregations faithfully live as exiles without retreating or becoming combative? You write that “leaders are followers first.” In a culture obsessed with leadership, how can the church cultivate a different vision of leadership grounded in discipleship? What does it mean to be “bold” as a church leader today—and how does boldness differ from brashness or arrogance? You discuss grief over the past in “For Such a Time as This.” How can churches move from nostalgia to opportunity without losing their history or identity? How do you define success in ministry today, especially when metrics like attendance or offerings may be declining? You describe hope as a “gift of God” and “antidote to despair.” What practices can help church leaders personally stay rooted in that hope?Your final chapter is titled Quo Vademus? or “Where do we go from here?” If a church leader finishes your book and asks that very question—what's one step you hope they take next? How do you envision this book being used in congregational settings or among pastors? What's your prayer for the Church today as we seek to be faithful, hopeful, and bold in Christ?About the GuestRev. Dr. R. Lee Hagan serves as president of the Missouri District-LCMS and as chairman of the LCMS Council of Presidents. He is a 1992 graduate of Concordia College (now University), Seward, Nebraska. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis with a Master of Divinity in 1996 and Doctor of Ministry in 2011.

On this Father's Day, we look at how frustration, failure, and disruption aren't the end of the story—they're often the setup for something greater. When life knocks you down, God's invitation is simple: Look up. What if your future is still wide open, even after the mess?

Unlocking the Future of Smart Home Technology: Insights from Hagan Kappler, CEO of DaisyIn this episode of The Thoughtful Entrepreneur, host Josh Elledge welcomes Hagan Kappler, the founder and CEO of Daisy, a company on a mission to redefine smart home and small business technology services. Hagan shares how Daisy is creating a national brand in an otherwise fragmented industry—one that offers not just installation, but also consistent, long-term support.Whether you're a consumer seeking a better smart home experience or an entrepreneur interested in franchise ownership, this conversation uncovers the technology trends, business models, and growth opportunities shaping the future of connected living.Redefining Smart Home Services Through Standardization and SupportAs the smart home market continues to expand—now exceeding $30 billion in the U.S. alone—it still faces serious fragmentation. Many technology contractors are small, local operators with deep product knowledge but limited business infrastructure. Hagan Kappler launched Daisy to solve this problem by offering a platform where talented installers can operate under one cohesive, national brand with the support they need to scale.Daisy provides solutions ranging from home audio and visual systems to smart lighting, security, motorized shades, and fully integrated control panels. But what truly sets Daisy apart is their ongoing commitment to service. Unlike typical one-off installations, Daisy ensures homeowners, builders, and property managers receive continual updates, maintenance, and training—maximizing the longevity and effectiveness of their smart systems. For small business owners, Daisy's franchise model opens doors. Entrepreneurs can either start a new operation, convert an existing business, or acquire a company, all while receiving centralized support in operations, marketing, customer service, and technology. It's a win-win: customers enjoy trusted expertise, and franchisees get to grow under a brand backed by national reach.About Hagan KapplerHagan Kappler is the founder and CEO of Daisy, the first national brand in smart space installation and services. Previously, she served as CEO of Threshold Brands, leading nine service businesses across 550+ locations. Hagan has held leadership roles with ServiceMaster Clean, Merry Maids, and Ingersoll Rand/Trane, and began her career at McKinsey & Company and Goldman Sachs.

In this special edition of RugPull Radio, GMoney welcomes Sean Hagan, Head of Media at Bitcoin Magazine, for a powerhouse conversation bridging the Bitcoin movement, American sovereignty, and the upcoming celebration of America's 250th birthday. Broadcasting from the front lines of the monetary revolution, Sean gives listeners an inside look at what to expect from this year's massive Bitcoin Conference in Las Vegasi, ncluding keynote speakers, all-night afterparties, and the first public appearance of Ross Ulbricht since his historic pardon. They dive into Sean's philosophical roots, his orange-pilled journey, and how he went from Robinhood investor to full-time Bitcoiner. The pair unpack the meme magic of Rare Pepes, the mythology of Buckazoids, and the deeper cultural movement driving Bitcoin's rise as the foundation of a new digital Constitution. They also explore tokenization, the future of lightning integration with stablecoins like Tether, and why Bitcoin's strategy is flipping Wall Street, politics, and even the presidency on its head. As talk of space-time manipulation and code-based governance swirls, one thing is clear, Bitcoin isn't just a currency; it's the backbone of a peaceful revolution. Vegas won't know what hit it. Use code PEPE.
