This podcast is a part of a collection of podcasts recorded at ISC West 2025 and previously shared on social media. At ISC West 2025, BluebirdSales.io, an outsourced sales and marketing firm dedicated to the technology sector, showcased its deepening partnership with floLIVE, a global cellular MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) known for simplifying and scaling connectivity in security and IoT applications. Tom Dever, president and self-described “strategy guy” at BluebirdSales.io, explained the company's mission: “We're not just about sales—we're about helping technology companies build strategic paths to market. That means understanding the technical problems and delivering the right solutions to the right partners.” At ISC West, Dever and his team were onsite supporting floLIVE's booth, helping introduce the company's carrier-agnostic connectivity to a range of security-focused exhibitors and attendees. floLIVE enables OEMs and integrators to embed global, multi-carrier eSIMs into their products, providing automatic access to networks like AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular—with no need for separate SKUs or carrier contracts. “It's a game-changer for manufacturers,” said Dever. “One SIM, one integration, and you're connected nearly anywhere.” floLIVE's technology is especially useful for security and monitoring devices—such as IP cameras and smart sensors—that need to transmit critical data from remote or variable locations. Their local IMSI capabilities ensure compliance with global data sovereignty rules, converting devices into local nodes on the cellular network and avoiding roaming restrictions in regions like Brazil and Turkey. Dever also spotlighted floLIVE's channel-friendly approach. MSPs and MSSPs can white-label floLIVE's platform or refer it as a connectivity solution, offering new revenue streams while enhancing customer deployments. “Partners can resell the service or embed it in their offerings—either way, it's a win-win,” he said. In addition to floLIVE, BluebirdSales.io is also engaged with global tech brands like Arduino and Grin. The latter showcased an M.2 module at ISC West featuring floLIVE-enabled connectivity with both cellular and Skylo satellite support—ideal for rugged deployments in agriculture, energy, or isolated security locations. BluebirdSales.io continues to bridge the gap between innovative products and effective go-to-market execution. As connectivity becomes increasingly central to physical security solutions, partnerships like the one between BluebirdSales and floLIVE are helping integrators, manufacturers, and MSPs meet the moment—with confidence and scale. Can any brand become a mobile provider? That's the question Matthew Roberts explores at MWC Barcelona 2025, as he sits down with two industry leaders who are reshaping traditional telecom models through Amdocs' ConnectX—or as some might call it, “telco in a box.” First, Matt is joined by Stephanie Ormstron, Head of Commercial and Product at AT&T's MVNX Ecosystem. Together, they unpack what mobile virtual network experiences (MVNX) are, how they differ from traditional MVNOs, and why they're opening up powerful new partnership opportunities. Stephanie explains how non-telco brands can now tap into AT&T's network and embed connectivity directly into their customer experience. Next, Matt speaks with Zbigniew Pawlik, better known as Zibi, Founder & CEO of MVNE.PL. Inspired by a transatlantic sailing trip, Zibi shares how he launched his own mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) in Poland. He walks through the challenges of getting the venture off the ground, why the Polish market has lagged behind the rest of Europe, and how ConnectX is making telecom entrepreneurship more accessible than ever. Whether it's a fintech platform bundling data, or a retail brand offering loyalty-driven mobile plans, hear how connectivity is becoming less about infrastructure—and more about experience.

This week the team go back to their roots and talk about mobile networks: Ewan is deeply underwhelmed with the offerings of the UK's mobile network operators, having spent time living and working around Europe and the Middle East. He's especially unimpressed with network availability on major transport links, having had almost-ubiquitous access to 5G coverage in the places he worked and travelled. Rafe's got some OFCOM data (because of course) that suggests things aren't as bad as Ewan thinks. He also notes that there are some rural areas with good 5G coverage, so people's experience will be very dependent on location. He does, however, acknowledge that new legislation has been required to help network operators upgrading existing masts (where planning restrictions had previously blocked them). Ben is surprised that the perceivable-quality of mobile network service hasn't changed in the 2 years since we last covered it on 361, except for a price reduction. He's also frustrated that network 'quality' so frequently causes problems even where signal 'strength' is reportedly good. He's also surprised by Rafe's suggestion that mobile networks might prefer their own customers to other MVNO operator's customers. The team also discuss the growing market of app and eSIM-based providers that offer cheaper access to mobile operators when overseas. Get in touch! What can best be described as an “incestuous, co-dependent, and competitive” relationship, major US cellular and cable service providers have found themselves in an interesting competitive yet partnering dance. On one hand, cable companies offer mobile phone service plans to consumers through MVNO agreements with cellular service companies while making moves to keep their customers connected as much as possible without dependency on their cellular partners' networks. On the other hand, the cellular service companies are utilizing fiber backhaul from cable companies' extensive fiber networks to backhaul their massive 4G and 5G cell site traffic while simultaneously offering fixed wireless access from those same cell sites to directly compete with cable companies for residential internet service. In this episode, we dive into this fascinating relationship and what it means for these companies as well as their customers.
