Welcome to Freedom in Christ Ministries. Christians have a new heart and a new spirit, but we still struggle with many of the unhelpful ways of thinking and behaving that we grew up with (a primary characteristic of what the Bible calls “the flesh”). However, we don't have to give in to the flesh. We can choose day by day and moment by moment whether to live according to the flesh's urges or according to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Today's guest is Brian Westphalen. At a young age, Brian's mom was diagnosed with cancer, which led him to have a lot of questions about God and life. As a college student, someone introduced him to Jesus and he threw himself fully into ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ. While in ministry he met his now wife, Jewl. Together, he and Jewl served the ministry and even spent time overseas in Russia on missions. Now, Brain and Jewl serve at Freedom in Christ Ministries, helping others find freedom. Neil Anderson is the founder of Freedom in Christ Ministries and the best-selling author of books Victory Over the Darkness and The Bondage Breaker. Originally raised on a farm in Minnesota, Neil left a successful aerospace engineering job to go into ministry. As a pastor and later as a seminary professor, Neil noticed a common phenomenon among the people he was serving—even though they were Christians, they kept struggling with the same problems. This realization led Neil to spend years studying, learning and developing a step-by-step prayer and repentance process called The Steps to Freedom in Christ. It's designed to help people resolve the root issues in their lives by submitting to God and resisting the Devil. Today's Guest is Beverly Wilburn. Beverly grew up in a difficult home, but her Grandfather was a Baptist preacher who showed her the love of God. After his passing, she was looking for a Christian who showed the same kind of love as her grandfather. When she couldn't find it, she turned to Atheism and professed that there wasn't a God. Years later, a friend brought her to a bible study, where she accepted Jesus. She is now involved in Freedom in Christ Ministries and is passionate about sharing her story to encourage others. Two years ago we were at our lowest point in marriage and life, as we experienced the realities of spiritual warfare and mental health. In a multi part series we share our story of our experience and how we were able to come out the other side.

Welcome to The Grace Course, from Freedom in Christ Ministries. Many of God's people struggle with a low-grade fever of guilt which makes us “act like we think a Christian should act”. Understanding that we have been declared not guilty once and for all brings us back to a real relationship with God where we can be ourselves and do what we do purely out of love. In Christ we measure up in full to God's righteous demands! For more information, books and further resources, please see www.freedominchrist.org
Welcome to The Grace Course, from Freedom in Christ Ministries. Past experiences, what others say and seeming unable to break free of sin can leave us feeling that there is something fundamentally wrong with us. The truth is that we have become completely new people who can break the cycle of returning time and again to the same old sin issue. In Christ we have become completely new creations at the core of our being! For more information, books and further resources, please see www.freedominchrist.org
Welcome to The Grace Course, from Freedom in Christ Ministries. Our God is an awesome God. But His children can come boldly into His presence without a hint of fear – we are absolutely secure and safe. And if this God is for us, who can be against us? We need fear no one and nothing except God Himself, and the fear of God is not a cringing mistrust but a deep awe of His great majesty and holiness. For more information, books and further resources, please see www.freedominchrist.org
Welcome to The Grace Course, from Freedom in Christ Ministries. In the Old Testament, God gave His people His Laws. When Jesus came, He stated plainly that He had not come to do away with the Law but to fulfil it. If we understand how this works, we will resist the temptation to set ourselves up as nit-picking “guardians of the truth” but will be guided by the Law that is now written on our hearts. We will humble ourselves before God and before each other. For more information, books and further resources, please see www.freedominchrist.org
Welcome to The Grace Course, from Freedom in Christ Ministries. When we feel ground down and exhausted, Jesus makes us an astonishing offer: a light yoke and an easy burden. And He really means it! It seems a paradox but genuinely fruitful ministry that will have value for eternity comes only when we enter into that rest through a gateway of brokenness and learn to depend completely on Him. For more information, books and further resources, please see www.freedominchrist.org
Welcome to The Grace Course, from Freedom in Christ Ministries. We all know that we are saved by grace through faith alone. Yet the it comes to living out our Christian lives, it's easy to slip into thinking that it comes down to obeying a set of rules or living up to certain standards. But God is not looking for slaves who obey because they have to - instead, He wants to free us to rest in His grace so that we serve Him because we really want to. For more information, books and further resources, please see www.freedominchrist.org
John shares excerpts of an interview he did with Dr. Neil Anderson over 25 years ago.
Welcome to Freedom in Christ Ministries. Everyone lives by faith, even those who are not Christians. It's who or what we put our faith in that determines whether or not it will be effective. As Christians, it's essential that what we believe is in agreement with what God has revealed in His Word which shows us how things really are. If you want to know more, or to access course handbooks or other literature, please head over to www.freedominchrist.org
Welcome to Freedom in Christ Ministries. When Adam and Eve were created, they had life in all its fullness. They were perfectly accepted, secure, and significant. When Adam sinned, they lost their relationship with God. The result for us is that we were born physically alive but spiritually dead and with a huge need for acceptance, security, and significance. Jesus came to restore the very same life, acceptance, security, and significance that Adam and Eve had originally, and those who receive His free gift of life become brand new creations in Christ. Knowing that we are now “holy ones” who can come boldly into God's presence without condemnation changes everything. If you want to know more, or to access course handbooks or other literature, please head over to www.freedominchrist.org
Welcome to Freedom in Christ Ministries. We can't control our emotions directly but they are, in a general sense, the result of what we choose to believe. If we don't have a proper understanding of God and His Word, and who we are in Christ, or if we have developed faulty life-goals, it will be signalled to us through our emotions. Failure to handle emotions well may make us vulnerable to spiritual attack. The more we commit ourselves to the truth and choose to believe that what God says is true, the less our feelings will run away with us. If you want to know more, or to access course handbooks or other literature, please head over to www.freedominchrist.org
Welcome to Freedom in Christ Ministries. God's life-goal for us is that we become more and more like Jesus in character. Bringing our own goals into line with that will enable us to live a life of true freedom. If we want to be truly successful, fulfilled, and satisfied, we need to uncover and throw out false beliefs about what those things mean and commit ourselves to believing the truth in God's Word. In this session we will examine what we believe concerning eight aspects of our own personal lives in the light of God's Word. The purpose is to help participants understand how faith works in their daily lives, and to encourage them to stay on the path towards becoming more like Jesus. If you want to know more, or to access course handbooks or other literature, please head over to www.freedominchrist.org
Welcome to Freedom in Christ Ministries. The one thing that Jesus prayed for those who came after His first disciples — that's us — is that we would be one, so that the world would know that we are His disciples. His great commandment says we are to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, and minds, and to love our neighbour as ourselves. A right relationship with God should lead to a right relationship with our neighbours. In this session we will consider rights, responsibilities, judgment, discipline, and the needs of others. If you want to know more, or to access course handbooks or other literature, please head over to www.freedominchrist.org
Welcome to Freedom in Christ Ministries. Our relationship with others must have the same basis as our relationship with God. Nothing keeps you in bondage to the past more, or gives the enemy more entrance to your life, than an unwillingness to forgive. The crisis of forgiveness is not so much between you and the person who has offended you, but between you and God. Learning to forgive from the heart sets us free from our past and heals our emotional pain. It's really for your own sake that you do it. If you want to know more, or to access course handbooks or other literature, please head over to www.freedominchrist.org
Welcome to Freedom in Christ Ministries. The environment in which we grew up, traumatic experiences in the past, and giving in to temptation have led to the development of “strongholds” in our minds, which prevent us living according to the truth, and we probably became aware of some of these during The Steps To Freedom In Christ. We can demolish strongholds by choosing actively to renew our minds to the truth of God's Word and we will learn a strategy — stronghold-busting” — to help us do this. Walking in freedom now needs to become a way of life. If you want to know more, or to access course handbooks or other literature, please head over to www.freedominchrist.org
Welcome to Freedom in Christ Ministries. It's important to understand that we are in a spiritual battle, and that it is a battle between truth and lies with our minds as the battleground. Every day we face a battle for our minds. However, understanding how Satan works and our amazing position in Christ will equip us to win. If you want to know more, or to access course handbooks or other literature, please head over to www.freedominchrist.org

Welcome to Freedom in Christ Ministries. The world tries to make us look at reality in a way that is opposed to how God says it actually is. It makes its appeal to us through “the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life”. It also paints a complete but false picture of our reality — our worldview — that varies according to where and when we were brought up. When we become Christians we need to make a radical decision to stop looking at the world in the way we used to and start seeing it from God's perspective by adopting the Biblical worldview which is “how God says it is”. Working out how to reach and disciple the millennial generation is perhaps one of the most pressing challenges facing us today. Less than 7% of young adults go to church and 65% of them have never heard the gospel. Whereas we used to be seen as a missionary sending country Britain is now seen as a key mission field by other countries. This session will look at why young adults are struggling to find, keep and share their faith before opening a discussion on intentional discipleship to help them step into their calling as Disciples to their own generation. Jess Regnart is ‘Director of Every Generation' for Freedom in Christ Ministries. She co-wrote and co-presented ‘Disciple' their discipleship course for 18-30's. She is a sought-after speaker who travels extensively equipping church leaders to engage with the modern challenges of discipleship. She has a real passion to see every Christian get free from the shackles that hold them back so they can step into their personal mandate from God as Disciples that impact the communities around them. This seminar was recorded in January 2020 at the Vineyard National Leaders' Conference.
