Throughout history, kings have wielded absolute power, but God's design for Israel's monarchy was radically different. Dr. John examines Deuteronomy 17:14-20 and God's requirements for Israel's kings - they must be chosen by God and not acquire many horses or wives. Most importantly, kings must write out and study God's law daily to remain under God's authority rather than ruling however they please, with Solomon's failures serving as a warning.Living the Moral Life: A Practical Application for Every Generation: Morality cannot be reduced to a bumper sticker. This morning we discuss the Chatzotzrot (silver trumpets) Moshe was commanded to make and use to signal the encamped Jewish People to gather or prepare to travel, and later, to warm of war, and to gather for celebrations. But unlike all other holy objects in the sanctuary, these were not passed down from leader to leader. Each successive leader had to make their own, new trumpets. Staying Faithful in our lives
Susie Jones joins us for a conversation about new data that shows every generation of Americans, aside from Gen X women, is having less sex than in previous years.
Rabbi Yehoshua ben Levi - on the messiah, and when he will come, with regard to the people awaiting his arrival. Including Eliyahu (Elijah), of course. Also, the birthpangs of the messiah - how many sages want the messiah to come, but only after they themselves die, so they don't have to suffer through it. But won't the messianic era be worth it? And won't their Torah study and acts of kindness protect them? With parallels between the entrance to the land of Israel from the Exodus of Egypt, vs. the return after the Babylonian Exile.
What does it take to pass the torch without losing the fire? In this powerful multi-generational panel, six leaders—Carter Conlon, Gary Wilkerson, Evan Wilkerson, Alberto Bello, Ron Brown, and Jonathan Laurie—gather to answer the call that spans every era: to minister with courage, clarity, humility, and conviction. With a rich blend of wisdom and vulnerability, each panelist opens up about: • Recognizing God's call in their own lives • Communicating the Gospel in a biblically illiterate generation • Wrestling with loneliness and the cost of leadership • The urgency of discipleship and succession in ministry You'll hear stories of rebellion and redemption, the importance of vulnerability over image, and the sacred power of saying, “Yes, Lord—even when it costs.” “We don't own anything. We're stewards. The church belongs to Jesus.” “If we lose our awe and wonder, we start doing ministry in our own strength.” “It's not a baton you pass and lose—it's a torch that keeps burning.” This panel will inspire you to keep your heart soft, your hands open, and your fire burning. Whether you're new to ministry or decades in, this conversation will rekindle your call and reconnect you to the One who called you.

As Israel prepared to enter the Promised Land, God set before them a choice: obedience leading to blessing or disobedience bringing consequences. In this message, Dr. John unpacks Moses' call to faithfulness, showing how this ancient challenge still speaks to our walk with Christ today. Living in obedience to God's commands isn't about earning His favor but responding to His grace, trusting that His ways lead to life and joy.Living the Moral Law: A Guide for Every Generation: We begin a new series on Deuteronomy 5-11 entitled, "Living the Moral Law: A Guide for Every Generation." Before Israel entered the Promised Land, Moses reminded them of God's Covenant and instructed them to adhere to God's Law, which is absolute and perfect. The blessings of the land would only be fulfilled when Israel lived according to God's Word. The law does not supress life's joy; it releases it. It's a lesson for us today.
God's promises always exceed our expectations. Dr. John explores how Moses described the Promised Land, showing Israel that it was far better than anything they had known. More than just a place, it was a reminder of God's care and provision—one that required faith and obedience. Likewise, our future with Christ surpasses anything we can imagine.Living the Moral Law: A Guide for Every Generation: We begin a new series on Deuteronomy 5-11 entitled, "Living the Moral Law: A Guide for Every Generation." In this message, Dr. John explores Deuteronomy 11:1-9, where Moses reminds Israel of God's past actions and calls them to love, obey, and trust Him as they prepare to enter the Promised Land. His words carry timeless truths for us: obedience leads to blessing, and God's promises are sure.Living the Moral Law: A Guide for Every Generation: We begin a new series on Deuteronomy 5-11 entitled, "Living the Moral Law: A Guide for Every Generation." In today's message, Dr. John unpacks God's requirements for His people in Deuteronomy 10:12-22. Rather than a list of rigid rules, these five expectations—fearing God, walking in His ways, loving Him, serving wholeheartedly, and keeping His commands—flow from a right understanding of who He is.
