Do you ever feel overwhelmed no matter how much you accomplish? Many women assume stress comes from a busy schedule, work demands, family responsibilities, or an overflowing to-do list. In this episode, resilience coach Charlotte joins me for a conversation about what may actually be happening underneath the overwhelm. We discuss identity-based stress, people pleasing, perfectionism, performance, self-worth, and the pressure many women carry to meet everyone's expectations. Charlotte shares practical ways to recognize the hidden beliefs driving burnout and how building your identity in Christ creates resilience, confidence, and peace even during demanding seasons. If you've been struggling with stress, anxiety, burnout, work-life balance, or feeling like you're constantly carrying too much, I think this conversation will encourage you. In this episode: • Identity-based stress vs. identity-led resilience • People pleasing and performance-driven living • Why work-life balance often leaves women frustrated • Recognizing false identities and unhealthy expectations • Building resilience through your identity in Christ • Practical steps to break reactive stress patterns We hope this conversation encourages you to take a fresh look at the stories you've been telling yourself and draws you closer to the person God created you to be. Shine!LDS AND MEDIUM PODCAST BACKGROUND:I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or LDS for short. All my life I felt awkward and out of place, not because of my religion, but because of my spiritual gifts. It was hard to combine the idea of what first seemed like two separate worlds. So my whole life I have tried. I have learnt more about my gifts, and stayed faithful to my faith. But then I heard people left the church because it seems impossible to combine the two. So I am here, to try and mend the rift. To show that it is possible to be both LDS and to have, and use, our spiritual gifts. I am not alone on this journey, but my sister, who just is waking up to her spiritual gifts is by my side and she will also share her story.Jesus Christ, our older brother, was a healer. He asked us to love one another. So let´s follow in his footsteps. Please join me on this journey, let´s make a community of strong spiritual LDS, or whatever religion you belong to, and all work together to make this world a better place. If you like what I do, then you can find me here:https://linktr.ee/ldsandmediumIf you have words of support or stories that you anonymously want me to share please write me at ldsandmedium@gmail.com. Surrendering our plans to the Lord is rarely easy. Every step can be met with questions, doubts, and fears that press in on our decisions. And yet, as today's storyteller reminds us, it is in surrender that we discover true freedom. On today's podcast, Ashley Stockard, who shared at our Vestavia, Alabama live gathering, reflects on her faith journey and the ways the Lord faithfully pursued her heart—drawing her in, capturing her attention, and ultimately leading her to live with open hands. Through her story, Ashley gently reminds us that surrendering to the Lord, following His lead, and loving Him above all else is where our true identity is revealed and our purpose is found. VERSE OF THE WEEK: See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19 CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK: Surrender your plans to the Lord, follow His lead and watch Him move. _____________________________________________________________________ Listen to a similar story: Episode 282- Grace McKissick: "From the World to the Word" Download a phone background of the weekly verse HERE! What happens when the drive that built your firm starts costing you the life you wanted it to support? In this episode of The Game Changing Attorney Podcast, Michael and Jessica Mogill answer three questions from firm owners who built real success but then realized the business was taking a toll on their health, marriage, and personal lives. Michael Mogill shares how he thinks about separating who you are from what you run, how to stay demanding without becoming unapproachable, and how to stay motivated when the old underdog story stops working. Here's what you'll learn: How to rethink “starting over” when the business is consuming your time and attention How to keep high standards while creating a culture where your team is not afraid to challenge you How to find a new source of drive when you have already achieved what used to motivate you If you want a business that supports your life, you have to build it so it does not require you for everything. What happens when the things you trust most—your reputation, your effort, and your ability to perform—are stripped away? In this powerful message from CityRise Church, Dr. Roger Patterson explores the Apostle Paul's defense of the gospel in Galatians 1 and 2. Dr. Patterson shares a personal season of deep refinement and examines how God uses "stripping away" not to hurt us, but to free us from the exhaustion of performance-based living. Drawing from Paul's radical transformation from a persecutor to a preacher, we learn that the gospel isn't about improving your life—it's about replacing your self-made identity with a union in Jesus Christ. In this sermon, you will discover: Why the gospel is a divine revelation, not a human invention. The danger of "legalism" and "license" versus the "liberty" found in the Spirit. How to stand firm when the core truths of your faith are under attack. What it truly means to be "crucified with Christ". If you've been feeling the pressure to "do enough" to earn God's favor, this study of Galatians is a timely reminder that Christ's sacrifice is sufficient.

It is a quiet crisis that almost no man wants to talk about out loud. You spend your twenties grinding, learning the ropes, and trying to establish yourself
Sermon Notes: The Firstfruit Resurrection Preacher: Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Okronipa Scripture Focus: 1 Corinthians 15:20-23 I. Introduction: The Uniqueness of Christ's Resurrection The Definitive Event: The resurrection is the single event that sets Jesus Christ above every historical or religious figure. Fulfilled Prophecy: Unlike other leaders who died and remained in the grave, Jesus predicted His death and His return to life, bringing salvation to humanity. The Consummation of Promises: Jesus is the fulfillment of every promise God ever made to man; He is the "one single heart desire" and vision of God. II. The Scriptural Basis (1 Corinthians 15:20-23) The Firstfruit: Christ has risen from the dead and become the "firstfruits" of those who have fallen asleep (died in faith). The Two Adams: * Through one man (Adam), death entered the world. Through another man (Christ), the resurrection from the dead came to all. Life in Him: "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive." III. Finding Your Identity in the Word Moving Beyond Application: Many Christians have weak faith because they try to apply the Word to their lives rather than seeing themselves in the Word. Living Expressions: We are called to be "living expressions" of the Word of God—Word in motion and power in action. Subjective Understanding: We must lose our "objectivity" toward life and subject our understanding entirely to what God has said. Breaking Lineages: When you find yourself in the Scriptures, you are no longer a victim of generational curses or bloodline patterns; your bloodline is now defined by Christ. IV. The Threefold Revelation of Jesus To have strong faith, one must understand Jesus in three specific roles: The King: The sovereign ruler. The Savior (Messiah): The one who delivers. The Lamb of God: The sacrifice who takes away the sins of the entire world (including the media and unbelievers), not just Christians. V. The Reality of the Resurrection The Scrutiny: As a "Lamb without blemish," Jesus' life was questioned and scrutinized by man, yet He died sinless for the sake of sinners. The Victory in Hell: After His physical death, Jesus' soul entered Hell to defeat Satan and take the keys of death and Hades (Revelation 1:18). The Power of an Endless Life: * Other resurrections (like Lazarus) were returns to a mortal life that would eventually end again. Christ's resurrection introduced a "new kind of life"—Zoe, which is eternal, incorruptible, and undying. VI. Practical Application: Living the Resurrection Life No Fear of Death: Because Jesus holds the keys, a Christian should not fear death. It is not an end, but a transition to being present with the Lord. Authority Over Sickness and Poverty: Resurrection life (immortality) is at work in our spirits now. We can use this "on-diability" to combat cancer, diabetes, and lack, as these are expressions of mortality and decay. The Witness of the Spirit: Even though we did not see the empty tomb physically, the Holy Spirit reveals the truth of the resurrection to our hearts, creating a transformation more powerful than physical sight. Core Message: "Everything that is supposed to be the foundation of our faith and the foundation of our hope is already outlined in the Bible... our story has already been written."

This week, Jake and Bob discuss identity: why it matters, how it is formed, and its role in the healing process. We live in a fallen world with an enemy who spreads lies that can send us down paths far from the truth of who we are. Through questions like "Who am I?", "Whose am I?", and "Do I belong?" Jake and Bob explore how to reclaim our God-given identity and rest in the freedom of living in that truth. Key Points: Finding your identity in Christ and living out of that truth is part of the healing process We begin the search for our identity in childhood and continue to deepen it (whether in truth or lies) throughout life Because we live in a fallen world, our identity can easily be influenced by the lies we believe about ourselves, others, and the world around us Healing is more than the relief from pain. Maturing in our God-given identity is actually a form of healing We become what we believe we are. We come to know ourselves and learn to love ourselves as we learn who we are in God There is value and healing to be found in the journey of finding our identity in God Resources: Jake's Identity Course (Use the code RESTORE10 at checkout for 10% your enrollment) The Chastity of Jesus and the "Refusal to Grasp" Connect with Restore the Glory: Instagram: @restoretheglorypodcast Twitter: @RestoreGloryPod Facebook: Restore the Glory Podcast Chapters: 00:00 Introduction 08:05 "What Am I?" and " Who Am I?" 21:58 The Struggle Against My God-given Identity 29:34 Do I Belong? 39:57 The Path to Finding Your Identity 48:12 Maturing Within Your Identity 55:23 The Purity of Love Never miss out on an episode by hitting the subscribe button right now! My guest today is a woman on a mission to preserve the language of her grandparents. Playwright, screenwriter and novelist Samantha Ellis is the author of one of my personal favourites How To Be A Heroine. Sam was in her early 40s and a new mum when it dawned on her that her mother tongue - or milk language - was on the verge of dying out. The daughter of Iraqi-Jewish refugees, Sam grew up surrounded by the noisy vivid hot sounds of Judeo-Iraqi Arabic, but when she tried to tell her son he was chopping onions on her heart, she realised she couldn't find the words - and even if she could, he wouldn't understand them. In her evocatively titled book of the same name, Sam goes back through the lives of her parents and grandparents, from Iraq to Israel to London and in so doing discovers far more about herself than she could ever have imagined. Sam takes us on a journey back to 1950s Baghdad to share what she discovered about herself and her family heritage and how it's shaped her as she heads towards 50. We also discussed intergenerational trauma, uses for coriander, cooking as a cure for overthinking, learning to belly dance and the unexpected joy of not being allowed to hold your stomach in! * You can buy all the books mentioned in this podcast at The Shift bookshop on Bookshop.org, including Chopping Onions on My Heart by Samantha Ellis as well as the book that inspired this podcast, The Shift: how I lost and found myself after 40 - and you can too, by me. * If you enjoyed this episode and you fancy buying me a coffee, pop over to my page on buymeacoffee.com. • And if you'd like to support the work that goes into making this podcast and get a weekly newsletter plus loads more content including exclusive transcripts of the podcast, why not join The Shift community, come and have a look around at www.theshiftwithsambaker.substack.com Learn more about your ad choices. Today, on Karl and Crew, we discussed the importance of knowing our identities in Christ. We turned to 1 Peter 2:9, where it reminds us that we are a chosen people called to show others the goodness of God. We then heard from Listeners as we asked them two questions: “What lie did you believe about yourself before you discovered who you are in Jesus?” and “What was something you used to worry about that God delivered you from?” Then we had Greg Dempster join us to discuss identifying and uprooting lies and spiritually unhealthy expectations, to find our true identity in Christ. Greg is the Founder and Director of ChristLife Ministries, equipping Christian leaders to bring God’s healing and life to others confidently. He is also a senior leader, elder, and ministry director. We were also joined by Dr. Winfred Neely, who shared his experience of how God gave him peace when he trusted in His sovereignty. The stress of working a corporate job sometimes makes it easy for us to lose sight of the joys in life...which is why it's so important to engage in creative acts and to not tie your identity so closely to your work. This week Natalie Marshall (AKA - Corporate Natalie) joins us on the podcast to explore these concepts and share some of her best practices on straddling the corporate vs. creative. We also discuss: How to make work work for you & other 'job crafting' techniquesLessons learned from Natalie's time at Deloitte as she transitioned into full-time entrepreneurshipHow Natalie learned to separate her identity from her outputs Why comparison is the ultimate trap...and why creating from a place of joy actually leads to greater successHow Natalie defines happiness & what brings her endorphins
Where are you finding your identity? And what do you actually value? Sadie is joined by her mom, Korie, and her husband, Christian, to talk about finding our identity. Christian shares his perspective on something we idolize versus something in which we find our identity — are they the same or different? Korie and Sadie explore the notion of identity and wonder if this is more a Western culture question; plus the bigger questions about our online identities versus what's true in our real lives. Then a biblical look at the danger of finding our identity in anything that is temporary, rather than knowing and trusting God and His Word as the ultimate identity for any believer. You'll learn why hobbies are essential for maintaining balance and how they can positively impact your mental and emotional health.
