Welcome to episode 46 of Shack Together! Today's show features our first-ever Gaming Resolutions Draft, where we compete over a set of insane pre-defined gaming goals for 2025. It's a chaotic way to start the year, as we each try to draft the most achievable (or least ambitious) gaming goals for the many months ahead. In Story Time, we cover some exciting developments, including AGDQ 2025's ongoing charity marathon, Ubisoft's potential strategic changes, and NVIDIA's reveal of their RTX Blackwell 50-series GPUs at CES 2025. We also discuss LocalThunk's Golden Thunk GOTY award going to Animal Well, and Valve's interesting move to bring SteamOS to the Lenovo Legion Go S. And that's all for today's show! Thanks as always for listening and enjoy! PS This is Awesome: Episode 359Fred finally conquered Darkest Dungeon 2 and is diving back into Metro Awakening, while Jake is still deep in Metaphor: Refantazio. No new games for him this week—but big plans for next year. With 2025 just around the corner, we're setting some New Year's Gaming Resolutions! Fred is determined to finally beat Final Fantasy XVI, be more thorough with his playthroughs, and resist buying games just because they're on sale. He also wants to pick up more games at launch instead of waiting. Meanwhile, Jake wants to make better use of his PSVR2, finish Half-Life: Alyx, and dive into more indie games. He also plans to play Gran Turismo, Vertigo, and Metro Awakening—all in VR—plus Resident Evil 4 Remake for the full horror experience. On top of that, he's challenging himself to try more games without feeling the need to finish every single one.In news, PlayStation Plus Essentials for January have been announced, featuring Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered. Sony is reassuring gamers that home consoles aren't going anywhere, despite industry shifts. Meanwhile, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is still on track for 2025, though Kojima Productions is feeling the effects of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes. PlayStation's focus on live service games is growing, with Helldivers 2 proving to be a big success. It's a new year, new games, and new goals—let's talk about it all!By joining our Patreon community for ONLY $1.00 per month, you'll also enjoy these exclusive benefits:Early Access: Be the first to listen to our episodes as soon as they're ready. It's good to be back! The family was all in attendance today, and thank goodness they were because we did spend some time going over the family tree today — just exactly who is Papa Cartridge? You'll have to listen to find out. In between the family lineage discussion we do indeed chat about a few recent video game headlines before we hit the fun stuff. Exactly what do we want to accomplish this year in regard to gaming? Listen In! Gaming resolutions are one thing (no one ever sticks to those things) but pining for the future is quite another; we can do that with our eyes closed. After we pledge ourselves to 2018, the boys confess their most sought after releases of the year.
