In the much-anticipated follow-up to last week's discussion on Valentine's Day gift giving, Steve catches us up on the trials and tribulations of navigating Hallmark's most imaginary holiday. Revenge of the Ninja: It's a story you've probably heard before. A ninja name Cho Osaki has left his life of ninjacity behind is pulled back in after his family is killed in Japan. At the urging of a close friend, Braden, he moves to Los Angeles and opens a doll shop. For whatever reason, we never find out who killed Cho's wife, oldest son, and others present. *shrug emoji* But after he settles in Los Angeles, it turns out that Braden is actually smuggling heroin through the doll shop that he helped Cho establish. No backstory is given on how or why Braden became a drug dealer or why he though the dolls were the best method of transportation. *shrug emoji*Cho's son, Kane, accidentally uncovers the heroin, and Braden decides he has to kill Cho's mom. This all makes sense somehow. But then Kane witnesses Braden killing his grandmother, so now Braden's gotta kill him. This whole operation goes sideways like two days after it's established. Plus there's a mob guy that won't pay Braden for the drugs he's smuggled in. So then that guys gotta go too, I guess. But, Cho decides he has to kill Braden for killing his mom and abducting his son. He still isn't too worried about all the killings back in Japan.Revenge of the Ninja final grade: Steve: I liked this one. It's not up there with the all-time gut busters of intentional/unintentional comedy, but the story worked some of the time, hit all the 80s ninja themes. I love the Utah landscapes. 3.05/5.0Brandon: I liked it a little more after I thought about it. Lots weapons. The story was a little discombobulated, but it was a fun, above-average watch. Throwing stars. Nunchucks. She is a founder and the former Artistic Director of MOXIE Theatre, which she helmed for twelve acclaimed seasons. Delicia has directed plays for the Old Globe Theatre, San Diego REP, La Jolla Playhouse, Actors Theatre of Louisville Humana Festival, Cygnet Theatre, New Village Arts, and Diversionary Theatre, among others. Delicia has directed countless workshops and staged readings of new plays for National New Play Network, Old Globe, Bay Area Playwrights Festival, San Diego REP, and Arena Stage. Delicia was twice a recipient of the Van Lier Directing Fellowship through Second Stage Theatre in New York and is an alumna of the New York Drama League's Directors Program, as well as Theatre Communication Group's New Generations Program.

Difficilmente menzionerà il Canchanchara: eppure questo ottimo cocktail, fresco e strutturato, è uno dei più antichi rappresentanti della grande tradizione cubana in fatto di miscelazione, insieme con altri drink ormai dimenticati come il Saoco (rum e acqua di cocco), il Cuba Libre “prima maniera” (miele cotto e acqua, a volte aguardiente), il Drake (aguardiente, zucchero, limone e hierbabuena), il Champurrado (aguardiente, zucchero, chiodi di garofano e prugne secche) o l'Agualoja (acqua, zucchero o miele, cannella e altre spezie).

Cristian deepened his connection with the world of music at the age of 10, when he started studying percussions, making them shortly his art. Only a year later, for the first time, he had an incredible opportunity to perform in front of a real audience, performing on stages that led him to collaborate with great international artists. Since then, Cristian has traveled around the world spreading his talent in over 150 cities including Ibiza, Amsterdam, Milan, New York and Miami and some of the most famous clubs in the world such as Port Du Soleil in Gothenburg, Dybbuk in Athens, Le Monseigneur in Bordeaux, The Club in Milan, Ichu Rooftop in Hong Kong, Le Bain in New York, Riviera Club in Guadeloupe (Caribbean) and the Yuca in Miami. In 2011, Cristian completed an incredible summer tour in Rhodes performing for sold out shows honoring his musical preferences at venues such as Paradise Beach, Mojito Beach Bar, Boutique Club Amphitheater and Shimbas.
In 2013, Cristian released his first EP Dia De Luz, which was then followed by the success of his single Recuerdo, reaching first place in the Techhouse and Afrohouse charts. The following year, Cristian released Herencia Latina which immediately became a classic of Afro-Latin music during the famous Miami Music Week. He continued to release musical hits including Tambor y Plena, Son Sol, Masai, Cuba Libre, Que Pasa, All I need, Sonido de Calle, Conguero Y Rumbero and Caribena, the latter one of the hits of summer 2023, coming to the first places in numerous classifies.
With no signs of slowing down, he has been considered one of the 100 best Techouse and Afro house artists for years, continuing to delight with his performances around the world. To make it, you'll need: 2 ounces tequila (generally, a silver tequila is utilized, but you can feel free to substitute with any agave spirit of your choosing) 1/2 ounce lime juice 3 ounces Cola Salt for rimming the glass. Begin by slicing a fresh lime, squeezing it for juice, and rubbing a spent half around the rim of a highball glass. Next, rim the glass with salt and fill it with ice. Since this is a built drink in the style of a Cuba Libre, all you need to do is add your agave spirit, lime juice, and cola to top (in that order), and, important to the ritual of this drink, stir it with the knife you used to cut the lime. Garnish simply with a lime wheel or a nice lime twist and enjoy.

The highball is at the top of the cocktail family tree. It's simply carbonated water and spirit, and that inspired a lot of inventions (see Collins, Paloma, Cuba Libre, anything in a tall glass mixed with bubbles). The Japanese however, have taken this from just a 2 ingredient cocktail (technically 3 if you include ice) to an art form. Jules did the same, by infusing Cognac with Peach and adding a bit of basil syrup and lemon… geez it's good. Japanese Highball Before you begin: chill collins glass in freezer Be in the moment, and smile Now.. in your chilled glass: Add chunk(s) of clear ice (filling glass halfway) and stir for 30 seconds. Pour excess water out. Add 2 oz whiskey over ice, and ice - and stir 13.5 times EXACTLY. I used Nikka Coffey Malt (this is not coffee flavored - it is made in a Coffey style still), you can use Suntory Toki, or any spirit if you want.  Add 1 more piece of ice (if needed) and top of with 6 oz of carbonated water (can split with Ginergale if you like). The more carbonation the better. Nestle bars poon under ice and stir 3.5 times EXACTLY. When finished stirring, softly lift the spoon out of the glass WITHOUT disturbing the drink any further. Take thick lemon peel and express via match over drink, twist, and set peel in drink.
