You will learn: · The ALG's research results · How valid Western models and tools are when coaching African clients · What can coaches learn from the philosophies from Africa “What we're saying is coaching is a Western terminology, but the practice of it has probably been going on in African communities anyway. Reports indicate that the newly enstooled Queen of Nungua West, part of the Ga-Adangbe Muslim Union (GAMU), was shot and killed by unknown assailants during the installation of the GAMU Mantse and GAMU Manye. The tragic incident took place in Nungua, near Tema, in the Greater Accra region
“I look good and no-one else has it”. In Zimbabwe the trade in second hand clothing is booming. Sold in markets or just out of the back of cars or from homes, the clothes are popular with those struggling with the cost of living, but also with those who just want good quality affordable fashion. But the clothes are imported illegally and no tax is paid. Many shops also sell cheap, but poorly made, imports from China. Manufacturers in the country say they just can't compete and recently one firm, Truworths, went into corporate rescue to protect it from bankruptcy, while other firms have also closed their doors. So is it time to ban the import of second hand clothes from the west? And could that be enforced? Presenter: Alan @Kasujja Reporter: Ish Mafundikwa Guests: CEO of Truworths, Bekithemba Ndebele, market stall holder Winnie, and shoppers Kimberley and Gamu.

Today, we're discussing the BET college drama, The Quad! The Quad chronicles the growth and growing responsibilities of a newly-elected president at a financially struggling university. Dr. Eva Fletcher, the first female president of GAMU, must manage her students, her faculty, and her not-so-stable love life, all while trying to manage a healthy relationship with her rebellious daughter. This was only the second series to attempt an HBCU perspective, and one of the first to center the head of the university rather than its students, so how did The Quad fare? Stay tuned!
I know you too have a story where you look back and cringe real hard! I could feel Gamu cringe as she detailed her story but I must say, I am proud of her for releasing that energy. PRE-ORDER: My Dads Advice At 5:04 AM www.mydadsadvicebook.com My guest Jide Gamu, is the founder of the app IFOURcore. We will talk about not just the origin of the app but how it could save your marriage. My question to you is, who taught you how to date? Think about this. As a parent, what is our role to help our kids? Jide began his career while working for the Colorado Alliance for Reform in Education (C.A.R.E.); on behalf of school choice, Jide helped develop the Alliance for Equal Opportunity in Education to promote school choice for students. Shortly after that, he started his first business, C.O.R.E. (Colorado youth – Overcoming adversity – Recognizing their potential – Empowering one another). Through his work with C.O.R.E. Jide developed a community program called BarberShop Talk, an introspective gathering of men from 8 to 80 who met in a barbershop to discuss community issues. BarberShop Talk grew to include a television broadcast hosted by Jide and later produced a spin-off for women called “A Woman’s Worth.” In 2005, Jide started “Youth Tree,” a community redevelopment organization comprised of young individuals whose potential for excellence exceeded their age. He also co-hosted a radio show on KLDC 800 called “Anointed Word on the Street.” Topics included the impact of growing up in a fatherless home. In 2006, after more than 700 hours of training, Jide helped open the first Educo Gym in America. His practice has taken him as far as Sardinia, Italy, Paradise Island, Bahamas, and Belize. In early 2008 Jide was elected as the 2nd Vice-Chair of the Aurora Human Relations Commission and was also awarded the “2007 Activist Award” by the City of Aurora. April 29th of 2008, Jide joined the U.S. Army. He conquered a 12-month deployment with the 2nd Brigade 4th Infantry Division to Mosul & Kirkuk, Iraq, in the fall of 2008. In the summer of 2010, he committed to the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), achieving one of his many “adventurous goals” by becoming an Airborne Trooper. Shortly after that, Jide was selected to work in Washington DC, where he currently resides. With his daughter Leilani, Jide is endeavoring to bring about positive change in his new community.
