Dear Stef I was recently having some fun with ChatGPT and I was asking it if various historical figures such as Kant, Schopenhauer and Churchill are sexist to which it replied ‘Yes'. I then asked it ‘Is Stefan Molyneux sexist?' to which it replied (quoting):‘Yes, Stefan Molyneux, a controversial figure known for his online videos and advocacy of various far-right and anti-feminist viewpoints, has been widely criticized for promoting sexist ideas. His views on gender are often seen as regressive and aligned with traditionalist, anti-feminist beliefs. Here are some ways in which Molyneux has expressed sexist views:1. Misogyny and Gender Essentialism: Molyneux often promotes a rigid view of gender roles, suggesting that men and women have inherently different, and complementary, roles in society. He believes that men are naturally suited to leadership, rational thinking, and public life, while women are biologically inclined toward nurturing, domesticity, and emotional roles. These views align with an essentialist understanding of gender, where biological differences are used to justify inequalities in power and opportunity.2. Criticism of Feminism: Molyneux has been an outspoken critic of feminism, frequently claiming that it has "ruined" society by promoting the idea of gender equality and undermining traditional family structures. He dismisses feminism as a harmful ideology, accusing it of promoting victimhood and entitlement among women, while downplaying issues like domestic violence against men.3. Views on Relationships and Marriage: Molyneux often espouses a controversial view of relationships between men and women, promoting the idea that women are hypergamous (i.e., they are primarily interested in marrying men of higher status or resources) and that men should be wary of women's desires for financial support and social status. He has also advocated for "alpha male" behavior, claiming that men should assert dominance in relationships to maintain control and avoid being exploited by women.4. Denial of Gender Equality: Molyneux rejects the idea that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities in many areas of society, often citing his belief in traditional gender roles. For example, he has suggested that women are not suited for leadership roles in politics or business because they are driven by emotionality rather than reason.Molyneux's views are deeply controversial and are considered by many to be deeply sexist and out of step with contemporary gender equality movements. His rhetoric has been widely criticized for promoting harmful stereotypes about both women and men and for encouraging a backlash against feminist progress.'There seems to be an acknowledgment of some of your beliefs & truthful statements you have made but there also seems to be an unusual framing of your philosophy around women. The world in Fable II is fully dynamic, interactive and mostly free roaming with no set quest path to take. Since the game takes place over a hero's lifetime, many things can change; Molyneux gave an example of a trade camp that the player could either help or destroy. Trading in such camps would increase their profit, resulting in a small town growing around them.

Welcome to the Molyneux-iverse. I wish I had made that joke in the episode itself but here we are. Phil and Kevin are taking on Fable: Edge of the World! It's written by Christie Golden, last seen on the show as the author of World of Warcraft: Rise of the Horde, which was... not great. Higher hopes for this one! Blue Sky: https://bsky.app/profile/pixellitpod.com Instagram: https://instagram.com/pixellitpod Book Synopsis It's been almost a decade since the events of Fable 3, when the Hero vanquished the threat across the sea and claimed his throne. As king he led Albion to an era of unprecedented peace and prosperity. But on the night of his wedding to his new queen, ominous word arrives: The darkness has returned. Beyond a harrowing mountain pass, the exotic desert country Samarkand has been overrun by shadowy forces. Within the walls of its capital city, a mysterious usurper known only as the Empress has seized control. To protect his realm, the king must lead his most trusted allies into a strange land unknown to outsiders. As they forge ahead along Samarkand's ancient Great Road, populated by undead terrors and fantastic creatures once believed to be the stuff of legend, the king is drawn ever closer to his greatest challenge yet. But soon Albion is engulfed in a war of its own. As the darkness spreads, town by town, a treacherous force has infiltrated the queen's circle. Now the fate of all that is good rests with a faint flicker of hope . . . that somewhere, somehow, heroes still do exist.

Welcome to another episode of Island Influencers! This week, I'm delighted to feature Damian Molyneux, Director/Advocate at M&P Legal. Damian stands as a notable presence in the Isle of Man's legal sphere. Originating from Kirkham, a town near Blackpool, he grew up in a devout Catholic household, with a familial link to the priesthood adding to his unique background. His journey began in the field of electronics, where he earned a BTech at British Aerospace, before successfully transitioning into the realm of law through his determined pursuit of a law degree at university. Beyond financial law, Damian's practice encompasses complex insolvency work, regulatory enforcement, medical negligence defense, personal injury claims (with a focus on motorcyclists and cyclists), and overseeing general commercial and civil litigation matters. Damian is also a distinguished Income Tax Commissioner. Outside his day job, Damian talks of enjoying a fulfilling family life on the island. His interests are as diverse as they are intriguing, spanning from rewilding and DIY projects to mechanics and engineering. He explains he finds solace and his own meditation in “pottering” and has a penchant for indulging his inner child by crafting whimsical projects. Island Influencer Damian Molyneux's life story is a unique blend of legal knowledge, expertise, and island life. I hope you enjoy listening to episode 101 as much as I enjoyed our conversation. Synesthesia! A weird thing experienced only by unusual people, or by ordinary people on unusual drugs, or – is it something everybody has all the time? Are very low musical notes literally “dark”? Can food sound like something, like hot peppers going “ping” on your tongue? Why does it make sense to call a fork a “zrickrick” and a pillow a “baobwab”? Or does it? In 1688 William Molyneux asked John Locke whether a blind person who regained her vision would be able to distinguish a square from a circle by sight. Locke said no. Leibniz said yes. Who was right? This week Eric and Taylor puzzle over Molyneux's question and a variety of other related and unrelated matters to do with musical temperament, linear perspective, and octopuses.

Stefan Molyneux delves into the complexities of human interaction, focusing on reciprocal altruism and the question of humanity's true capability for selflessness. Drawing distinctions between selfishness and altruism, and egoism and self-sacrifice, he references the Kantian view of morality and provides various examples highlighting behaviors rooted in self-interest. Molyneux critiques moral arguments opposing self-interest and explores the challenges of altruistic endeavors, referencing themes from Plato and personal experiences. He elaborates on the methods of resource acquisition, the manipulative nature of sophistry, and the inherent risks in helping others. Furthermore, Molyneux discusses the dynamics of self-interest, morality, and societal values, critiquing the philosophy of altruism, examining the implications of acting against self-interest, and warning against the rise of societal cynicism. The episode offers a profound exploration of morality, altruism, and the intricate intricacies of human behavior.Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!Get access to StefBOT-AI, private livestreams, premium call in shows, my new book and the History of Philosophers series!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2022

In the latest episode of "Wednesday Night Live," hosted on the 4th of October, Stefan Molyneux dives deep into the intricacies of "Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs." He candidly shares his perspective on the current state of philosophical discussion, emphasizing the proliferation of superficial content designed to prop up mediocre intellects. Molyneux criticizes the misuse of academic knowledge, suggesting that many merely regurgitate university-taught concepts without genuine understanding or depth. He particularly points out the pretentiousness of certain individuals who employ these surface-level concepts to project an image of profundity.Highlighted Quotes:"There's an entire industry out there of cannon fodder nonsense that is designed to prop up midwit brains and make them seem deep.""And just all of this nonsense is put out there as cannon fodder for midwits to impress idiots with how deep they are.""It's just ways that people can pretend to be deep because they scraped a few things out of their university nonsense wagon, right? Social contract, man.""But it's all a bunch of stuff that just flows out like this slow, brain-deadening, soul-eating, tapioca crap syllable idiot fest."Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!Get access to StefBOT-AI, private livestreams, premium call in shows, my new book and the History of Philosophers series!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2022

Hey Stef I met you at the Freedom Fest back in…2018ish? You sat with me and gave me some kind words. I was very drunk…BUT I've recently become sober with the help of AA?Do you know about AA basic ideas? If so what do you think?I have an issue with emotional eating/binging any thoughts on why someone eats that way?Had a drinking problem before that I kickedHey Stef. After hearing you talk about fatal flaws recently, I've realized mine is Perfectionism. My perfectionism is crippling, because it causes me to do absolutely nothing if I can't do it "right"."Perfect is the enemy of the good" is a good description of my issue.Any thoughts?Do you increasingly support Christianity primarily because it's a bulwark against communism, even though you prefer that people reach virtue through philosophy instead of religion?Hi Stef, what are your thoughts on unchosen obligations, specifically the religious obligation to honor thy mother and father. More generally, are unchosen obligations a necessary good for society since that has been suggested in a video I just watched by Jordan PetersonHow do I deal with someone who is very sarcastic, but very humorous and the jokes are about me? I laugh because it's really. So it continues. Why do our parents have such an emotional hold over us as adults?I got drunk at a company event the other day and tried to discuss the non-aggression principle, and it went over like a lead balloon. Trying to figure out how to walk that one back even though I was being honest. They want to talk to me about it next week. I feel like I humiliated myself talking to a bunch of NPCs about libertarian philosophy. I avoid alcohol because it makes me a bit too honest when maybe I should hold back on certain topics or be a bit more careful introducing the ideas.Became a father in December, any advice for taking better care of infants?Stef, under what reasonable circumstances a man who broke up with a women, should take her back? The fact they broke up in the first place is bad enough but is there any reasonable way it can actually happen and work out? Thank you very much.Thank you very much for the clarification between love and honor. It's an important nuance that I didn't see. What about other unchosen obligations, such as our obligations to the state. How do we distinguish between unchosen obligations that are beneficial to society and those that aren't.Did any people in your extended family have a positive influence on your childhood? I'm an Aunt and I want to be a positive influence for my niece. When you fall of the tracks and get lost in chaos, do you have a way of pulling yourself back together? A good method of centering yourself?Do you have personal preferences to help create a universal safety net that encourages hard work that doesn't violate the NAP?My mother used to beat me frequently and my father was distant, 20 years later our relationship is kind of cold, i find it hard to smile around them and show happiness, they treat me good now but that past is still there, its hard for me to open up and tell them about it, why wont parents initiate such conversations? i see it is very common that the child always needs to initiate instead of the parents. How's the book editing going Stef? Some say we should forgive the COVIDIANS who pushed vax mandates and lockdowns. I say no forgiveness unless they seriously apologize, and then maybe.I feel like I have an obligation to help toward my mother, as she seems powerless/stucki in her relationship to my fahter. Def resonate with the current topic.Stef why did your father abandon you with mother? Was he afraid of your mother and just ran away?Do you think the trauma of World War 1 and World War 2 was the primary explanation but not justification for dysfunction in the boomer generation? How do we manage our instincts towards obligations? For example men feel obligated to protect women and women feel obligated to nurture life. Do positive obligations have an evolutionary root? Or are some of them branded into our psyche by our culture and these are the ones we should reject.I was baffled at the response to not go outside and exercise in order to quarantineWhy do you think anti homeschoolers use socialize in public schools as a con for homeschooling?Aren't mega corporations just proxy extensions of government power these days? And consequently we are left with essentially a new branded version of communism?
