Lets be honest here.. you see the title. You know what you're about get to get yourself wrapped up in. So buckle up, settle in, and get whisked away to the Far East. Shaq (yes, THAT Shaq) is in town for a big basketball tournament and winds up getting sidetracked. Find out by who and how by tuning in and taking a listen. -- Thank you for listening. We appreciate you sticking with us. If you could leave us a five-star review on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your podcast aggregator of choice, it would mean a lot to us! If you don't think we deserve it, you're probably right.. but we can still ask.
Way back on episode 26 we had a topic of disappointing games. Those were games that we thought were going to be really good but ended up just being OK or kinda bad. A little over 100 shows later and we are revisiting that topic, but this time around just focusing on flat out bad games. We never intended any of these games to be good, and in most cases they were not! To add to the fun, we also did a little Secret Santa type swap where we chose crappy games for each other to play. Some people got lucky with a decent game and others were stuck playing Lizard Lady vs The Cats. We also chose to play some terrible games by choice such as classic bad game Shaq Fu and more modern games like Control. Wait, Control is a bad game? Well to some of the less cultured members of the podcast... To balance things out, we did get some great game discussion mixed in with - new indie game hotness Animal Well, FromSoft classic Sekiro, Final Fantasy Theatrhythm, and more! Oh and if you stick around to the end...my apologies.

In this episode Greg and Joe look at another basketball themed game (at least on the surface) -- the infamous Shaq Fu! A fighting game which varies a lot on the SNES as opposed to the Genesis, and made by famous software developer Delphine, we examine this game and how it plays, and we tackle the question -- is the game REALLY as bad as the legend says? Any questions, comments, etc can be left on our FB page or e-mailed to thesnespodcast@yahoo.com and as always thanks for your support! The SNES Podcast is proud to be part of the Geekade network! This week on the podcast, the guys take a long look at the bafflingly ludicrous movie that is The Lawnmower Man! Everything about this movie is bananas, from the production story, to the effects, to the attempt at a plot, and discuss very little of that because Jack found a Shaq-Fu emulator. Grab some beers and join the fun!
In 1994, at the peak of the 90s NBA-mania, EA had a simple idea: take the most popular big man in the league and put him in a street fighting game. The game was met with confusion and criticism, but maybe it was before it's time? or maybe it's just garbage! We check it out this week.
On this episode of the Sofa King Podcast, we look at the towering career of the one and only Shaquille O'Neill. The man is a legend on the court. He was a four-time champion, multiple MVP, won an Olympic Gold metal, and had plenty of beefs with other sports personalities. He was dominant on the Lakers but won championships on other teams as well. But let's not forget the fun stuff, like is video game Shaq-Fu, his rap albums, his role as a genie named Kazaam, and his reality shows. This man is a sports and pop-culture legend and worthy of an hour of the three of us rambling. The Wizard of Oz for the SNES continues our parade of hard to play games. Does this deserve to be one those iconically horrible games ranking up there with Shaq Fu, Bebe’s Kids, Lester the Unlikely, Bill Laimbeer’s Combat Basketball, and Pit Fighter? We might tell you. Or we might even debate that amongst ourselves. … Continue reading → The post Ep. 686 – The Wizard of Oz appeared first on TADPOG: Tyler and Dave Play Old Games.
This season of Debate This! has braved the waters of some uncomfortable topics, but today we venture to truly uncharted seas. Lace up your shoes, strap on your pads, and do other sports related things because today we're talking IRL sports! Now we're not here for your Maddens or your 2s-K, we're here for Chaos and we want it in the Windy City. Today we embark on a journey which asks, "Which athlete should star in their own non-sports game?" We asked Kyle to talk about sports and he told us about donut history. Todd takes a page from the WKRP in Cincinnati book. Andrew, to no surprise, is bringing us to the year 20XX. Obviously we needed someone on this podcast who actually understands sports, so we drafted Young Deuces of the Geekset podcast (@Young_Deuces on Twitter) to lead our team to our franchise-first championship. This week we reveal all the dark secrets of the infamous game, Shaq Fu. Shaq Fu is a 2D fighting game released for the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo in 1994 and ported to Game Gear, Game Boy, and Commodore Amiga in 1995. The game was developed by Delphine Software International and published by Electronic Arts. It features former professional basketball player Shaquille O'Neal as a playable fighter and the main protagonist of the story mode. About us: Press Any Button hosts Nicky (a new gamer) and Eric (a lifetime gamer) are a married couple who both love video games. For every video game they will discuss its past (history of the game, developers story, and fun facts), present (game play, game review and strategy), and future (will there be a sequel?? A movie?) BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE… Every game also comes with a challenge presented by the host that chose the game. If the challenge is not completed then whoever failed has to do a video game rap! So if you want to learn more about video games, hear some nerdy video game raps, or just have a good time this is the podcast for you. We try to cover all types of video games including: Retro and New video games Playstation, Nintendo, Xbox, Sega, and PC games Any and all genres including RPG, Simulation, Beat em up, platforming, mystery, first person shooter, sandbox, puzzle, action adventure, etc. Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pressanybutton_podcast/ Credits: Nicky Smith Eric Luedtke Music by Mark Spurlock References: https://www.rollingstone.com/movies/movie-news/qa-shaquille-oneal-is-sorry-for-shaq-fu-raising-money-for-sequel-112988/ talkingames.com/paul-cuisset-chapter-ii/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaq_Fu https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delphine_Software_International https://shaqfu.fandom.com/wiki/Shaq-Fu https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Trivia/ShaqFu https://shaqfu.com https://saveshaqfu.com http://www.bozocircus.free.fr/e_shaqfu2.php

WHATS UP EVERYBODY??!!?? This week, John and Gregg talk about 3 classic games on the SNES. Pilotwings, F-Zero, and the infamous Shaq-Fu. All three games meant a lot to different people. Where as F-Zero is considered a stone cold classic, Shaq Fu is not as well regarded. We go over all the points, gameplay, and notes of interest. We discuss the uncessesary plot added to an overall good game in Pilotwings. We explain how it was “Template” game, and how it used the SNES' platform to full effect. We switch gears to talk about one of the most vilified games in history, and go over the plot, characters, and influence that dragged Shaq Fu into the ground. We then finish up with an explanation on what F-Zero was a wonderful game, a true SNES classic, and one of the best racing games of all time! Also John give more information on the Because Maybe 2020 charity event, an update on our Oddworld series, some notes about our current recording setup and the usual bits and nonsense. The Because Maybe Mustache and Mullet Drive 2020 is underway! Check out our Fundraiser Page for more information. All proceeds will go to the Movember Foundation! There's also some talk about Dark Souls II and (naturally) Titanfall, some getting grossed out at Chris' obscene texting (and also at the Shaq-Fu sequel), and then a look at what you'd do if you could turn any TV show into a game.
