In this conversation, the New Zealand–based landscape photographer shares oh-so-many valuable tips for nature photography. During our time together, he breaks down his Four Pillars of Landscape Photography (location, composition, light, and processing) into a field-ready mindset, how he uses balance for composition vs. solely following compositional rules, how he reliably shoots handheld at 1/8s without a tripod, and the simple local-dodge/burn workflow he uses to keep post-processing effective and artistic. We also get into topics like flow state when photographing, why he only edits on small screens, intentional motion blur, and the his sage advice to budding photographers.Lots of excellent pieces of advice in this fun conversation! Will Patino on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@WilliamPatinoPhotographyWill Patino on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/williampatino_photography/ Workshops & Gallery: https://williampatino.com/ || William Patino PhotographySponsors & PromosArtStorefronts.com — Mention The Wild Photographer for a free website build (approx. $2,000 value). Shawn and Janet Needham are “reformed pharmacists” who curiously try to stay away from medications. They made the switch from conventional medicine that views medications as the destination for any ailment to offering something that is much more effective at solving the problem. The Needhams share how they became disillusioned with the “pill for every ill” system after seeing countless patients grow sicker despite following medication protocols. They now focus on empowering people to reverse chronic diseases through lifestyle, nutrition, and carefully tailored hormone therapy. We dove into why and how they made such a drastic shift, and discussed hormone replacement therapy, including thyroid hormone and testosterone. We got into the science behind hormone imbalance, why it's often ignored in mainstream medicine, and how simple changes like getting sunlight and improving sleep can transform health. They also share firsthand stories from their patients, dispelling myths around sun exposure, iodine, and hormone-related surgeries. If you're ready to ditch the meds and take back control of your health, this episode is a must-listen.Key TakeawaysIntroduction (00:00)The Needhams' journey from retail pharmacy to holistic health (02:27)Challenges and reflections on traditional medical practices (05:53)The role of hormone replacement therapy in health and wellness (08:08)Natural methods vs. Hormone replacement therapy (16:20)The importance of balancing hormones (19:36)Concerns about hormone replacement therapy (38:18)The role of progesterone in health and wellness (43:43)The impact of synthetic hormones on women's health (48:47)Additional Resources:✨ Learn more about how to live a long and pain-free life: https://joykongmd.com/ ✨ Follow me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/stemcelldrjoy/ ✨ Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dr_joy_kong/ —Dr. Joy Kong is a regenerative medicine and anti-aging expert. Deedee has been a pastor for decades, preaching faith, healing, and God's love to her congregation. But behind closed doors, she was secretly struggling with a battle that didn't have anything to do with her sermons, but everything to do with food. For decades, food felt like her hidden demon—something she couldn't conquer no matter how much she prayed or tried to “willpower” her way through. Despite her deep-rooted faith and dedication to serving others, food seemed to have a stronghold on her life, leaving her feeling ashamed, defeated, and disconnected. Even though she was pouring herself out for everyone around her, she often felt empty and isolated—especially when it came to her own health and relationship with food. But everything changed when Deedee made the brave choice to invite God into this part of her life, too. She realized that her struggles with food were deeply intertwined with her relationship with God. As you'll hear in this powerful episode, healing her relationship with food not only freed her from decades of shame and pain—it also allowed her to experience a closeness with God that she'd been seeking for so long. Her faith deepened, her heart softened, and she became a more powerful vessel for God's love—both for herself and for those she leads. Today, Deedee is not only free from food's grip—she's living a life filled with peace, joy, and a renewed sense of purpose. If you've ever felt like your struggles are too insignificant or too shameful to bring to God, Deedee's story is proof that no area of your life is too small—or too big—for God's love and grace. In this episode, we're joined by Peter Sunna (ex-Contentful, Commercetools), now leading product at Kognic, an annotation platform that helps cars “see” via camera & LiDAR for ADAS and autonomous driving. Peter shares why he downplays traditional roadmaps in favor of a company-wide “How We Win” operating system, aligning teams on target segment, differentiation, and the strategic power to compound. We dive into the automotive software shift, safety-critical AI, and how to build defensibility when AI keeps redefining what's feasible, sometimes in months. Peter explains how to keep Sales, Product, Marketing, and CS selling and building the same thing so strategy drives the plan, not a feature laundry list. Here are some of the key questions we address: How do you replace feature roadmaps with a "How We Win" system that aligns every team and still tells customers what matters next? What does differentiation look like in practice and which power are you compounding (process, network effects, brand, switching costs, etc.)? When you're early and have no moat, how do you use counter-positioning and when do you evolve to a more durable power? Depth vs. breadth: should you go deeper on a few use cases or widen to adjacent ones, and how do you decide? How do you sell a new workflow into enterprises (crossing the chasm) when existing org structures resist change? With AI rapidly changing what's feasible, how do you plan, defend your margins, and avoid being automated away?
Those “soft life” influencer videos? The stay-at-home girlfriends making lattes, baking bread, and living in perpetual golden hour? Yeah… it's not the whole story. In this episode, I break down why the soft girl dream is often a trap — built on economic dependence and social media illusion — and what it actually takes to create a truly soft, sustainable life. You'll learn:Why the influencer version of “soft life” is a luxury built on privilegeThe real risks of financial dependenceHow to design your own “soft-ish” life through freedom, flexibility & financial controlThe practical path to becoming work-optional — no man or corporate job requiredIf you're craving less hustle and more ease, this episode shows you how to build softness on your own terms.Want to explore our Freedom Life Programs?Hop on a call with Katti No matter when you're ready to start, we'll help you find the right fit. Todd shares how shifting away from the exhausting “fix-it mindset” freed him to build trust, empower his peers, and create real transformation for students. You'll hear how frameworks like FFIRE Your Complaints™ and reflective listening didn't just help Todd navigate frustration, they raised student outcomes and strengthened the culture of his school. His story is a powerful reminder that leadership isn't about having all the answers. It's about creating space for others to rise, staying grounded through discomfort, and leading with purpose. If you've ever felt the weight of trying to do it all, this conversation will remind you that you don't have to lead alone, and that the real impact comes when you empower those around you.Download your FFIRE Your Complaints framework HERE!Let's Stay Connected!Website | Instagram | Twitter | Linkedin | Facebook | Contact Us

Maddy grew up in the perfect storm for developing an unhealthy relationship with food—a fitness instructor mom who equated health with eating only whole foods, a competitive dance culture obsessed with body size, and two households with completely opposite food rules. By 16, dieting felt like the obvious solution when her body changed. A six-week CrossFit challenge gave her abs and praise—but also set off years of binge-restrict cycles, chronic scale-stepping, body dysmorphia, and obsessive food thoughts. She couldn't stop checking her body in the mirror or thinking about what she'd eaten, what she “should” eat next, or how to undo the damage after a binge. In this episode, Maddy shares how she finally broke free from food obsession, stopped the constant body checking, and learned to feel in control around all foods—without relying on rigid meal plans or restriction. By adopting the mindset and eating habits of a “naturally thin” person, she not only lost weight but has maintained her results for over 3 years. If you've ever thought, I just want to be normal around food, Maddy's story will show you it's possible. From almost joining the Marines to wrenching on A-10s and recruiting for the 193rd Special Operations Wing, Derrick walks us through how the Air National Guard let him stay home, stack checks, and still deploy to undisclosed sandbox locations. Oh, and did we mention you start getting paid before basic? Yeah. This one's going to ruffle some feathers—and we love it.We talk Guard myths vs. facts, how student flight is the low-key cheat code, and why most people have no damn clue what the Guard even is. If you're trying to join TACP or EOD through the Guard and haven't hit up Derrick yet, what are you even doing?

One year. Two kids. 35 pounds lost.Ezra just turned one (!!), and today I'm pulling back the curtain on my 1-year postpartum weight loss journey. From healing physically and emotionally, to navigating breastfeeding, business, and mom life with two kids—this past year has been full of growth (not just the baby kind). If you've ever wondered what it really looks like to balance life with two kiddos, run a business, keep up with breastfeeding, AND lose the baby weight—this episode is for you. I'm sharing the not-so-glam postpartum truths, from losing 35 pounds (without tracking a single macro or going on any wild diets!) to learning to trust my hunger cues, finding joy in simple movement (hello, walking desk life), and kicking “bounce back” culture to the curb once and for all.Plus, I'm serving up allll the honesty around asking for help, setting boundaries, and forgiving myself when I just can't do it all. (Because, uh, who actually can?!)Whether you're in the trenches of postpartum or just love a little peek behind the curtain, this one's got it all—heart, mindset shifts, and that reminder you don't have to do it perfectly to be proud of your journey.Let me know on IG (@the.mindful.nutritionist) if you love these super real-life updates (or if you think I should have a third kid—jury's still out, lol). And remember: you DON'T have to “bounce back”—you get to rebuild, stronger than ever.xoxo,JackieMORE FROM JACKIE: >
What if the foods marketed as “healthy” are actually keeping you stuck? Tasha Rosales shares how years of gut issues, gestational diabetes, and chronic fatigue pushed her to reevaluate everything she thought she knew about health. What started as a quest to heal her body turned into a full family transformation. From raising informed eaters (not restricted ones) to finding real balance in a world of conflicting nutrition advice, Tasha walks us through how her family now eats 85–90% real, whole foods and why it's not about perfection or fear, but intention. She gets candid about the moment she realized being too restrictive backfired with her kids, the emotional impact of imagining life if they hadn’t made these changes, and the shocking truth about what’s really in our spices, snacks, and “health” foods. We're talking about the companies who were all rainbow logos last year but mysteriously went silent this Pride month. We chat about the statistic that 39% of Fortune 500 companies pulled back their Pride support this year, why Trump's election has made everyone scared of being "too woke," and how Pride feels more like the protest it started as rather than the party it became.Joel opens up about going back to therapy because of Keegan's heart condition, while Keegan gets passionate about why some gay people are distancing themselves from trans issues when we should be standing together. We also give massive props to the brands that actually showed up, from Boots smashing it to train companies wrapping entire trains in rainbow colours, and an exciting announcement about Leeds Pride!
