July 25, 2021 sermon from Providence Reformed Church Las Vegas by Pastor Travis Peterson
God asked David to seek his face. David's Heart responded with obedience. How are you and I responding to the commands of God? Let's look further into this as we continue to explore the topic of God's Mercy when we cry, using Psalms 27 as our basis.
Psalm 95 (English Standard Version) Let Us Sing Songs of Praise 95 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! 2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! 3 For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. 4 In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. 5 The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. 6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker! 7 For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Today, if you hear his voice, 8 do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness, 9 when your fathers put me to the test and put me to the proof, though they had seen my work. 10 For forty years I loathed that generation and said, “They are a people who go astray in their heart, and they have not known my ways.” 11 Therefore I swore in my wrath, “They shall not enter my rest.”
4 To him who alone has wrought great wonders: for his mercy endures for ever. 5 To him who made the heavens by understanding; for his mercy endures for ever. 6 To him who established the earth on the waters; for his mercy endures for ever. 7 To him who alone made great lights; for his mercy endures for ever. 8 The sun to rule the day; for his mercy endures for ever. 9 The moon and the stars to rule the night; for his mercy endures for ever.10 To him who smote Egypt with their first-born; for his mercy endures for ever. 11 And brought Israel out of the midst of them; for his mercy endures for ever. 12 with a strong hand, and a high arm: for his mercy endures for ever. 13 To him who divided the Red Sea into parts: for his mercy endures for ever. 14 and brought Israel through the midst of it: for his mercy endures for ever: 15 and overthrew Pharao and his host in the Red Sea: for his mercy endures for ever. 16 To him who led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endures for ever.
In this episode, we look at some of the great declarations of God's mercy in the Scriptures.

God's Mercy is néw every morning!
What was David really saying when he asked God to hear his cry? Let's look further into this as we continue to explore the topic of God's mercy when we cry, using Psalms 27 as our basis.
Introduction: - The 'art of the deal' isn't helpful when you're dealing with God. - Salvation is not a ‘negotiated settlement'. 1) Jephthah, The Rejected Son (v1-3). 2) The Search for a Saviour (v4-11). 3) A War of Words (v12-28). 4) God's Mercy Missed (v29-40). Conclusion: - Salvation is not a deal to be done! You can't buy God's blessing. But you can plead for God's mercy. - See the Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector (Luke 18:9-14). - Are you missing out on God's mercy?

Jesus Followers' Personal Relationship with Jesus Comes from Humility as Sinners Through Seeking God's Mercy in Prayer MESSAGE SUMMARY: We do not deserve it; but we able to come to God, in a Personal Relationship with Him, because of His Mercy. We are all sinners. As Paul tells us in Romans 9:18: “So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills.". With God's Justice without His Mercy and His resulting Grace, you would face only eternal death as Justice for your sins. We can never enter God's presence for prayer when we are in our pride with our focus on ourselves. Also, Paul reminds us, in 1 Corinthians 1:30-31, that, in your Salvation through God's Grace, Jesus makes us “boast” only in the Grace provided us by God: “And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, ‘Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'”. We can only enter God's presence when we humble ourselves in Jesus. Humility and penitence before God invite His presence – here I am, Lord; just as I am; have mercy on me a sinner. TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, everything in me resists following you into the garden of Gethsemane to fall on my face to the ground before you. Grant me the courage to follow you all the way to the cross, whatever that might mean for my life. And then, by your grace, lead me to resurrection life and power. In Jesus' name, amen. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Heartlessness. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit's fruit of Kindness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f). God's mercy is what qualifies you for a last minute miracle.
Fr. Mark tells us God wants us to experience His mercy.
Here's how you can receive God's mercy over your life! Listen and be blessed.
Rev. Tim Sandeno of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Gorham, Maine, joins host Rev. Brady Finnern to study 2 Kings 23. God had mercy on Judah. Josiah had a reformation in the temple of the worship practice of God's people to assure that they would focus their hearts, souls, and minds on the LORD. His reformation reminds us that we are in need to re-evaluate where our hearts have created idols so we can repent and focus our attention again on Him. “O Holy Spirit, break us from our idols and grant us a new heart to worship You with all of our heart, soul, and minds on Christ's faithfulness and mercy. Amen”
- Speaker: Joe Skinner - It's easy to say that God is merciful and just. Scripture is full of verses that talk of God's mercy and justice. But it's difficult to know how those interact with our suffering. That is what we will begin to look at in today's lesson as we talk about God's mercy and justice in our suffering.

Message from Joshua Earl on June 27, 2021
In this fifth sermon, Habakkuk finally submits to faith in Yahweh. He explained his response as a POEM with- -1- the message - a prayer written down as a song to be sung in formal worship services- -2- the messenger - the prophet Habakkuk who served as a seer, speaking for Yahweh- and -3- the manner - according to Shigionoth, which described a style of music that was lively, emotional and majestic in its worship of God. Habakkuk then wrote out his PETITION to Yahweh. It was based on his reaction as he collected the facts about Yahweh and became alarmed with great fear. It included his request for Yahweh to preserve His people and to proclaim this intention along the way. It asked Yahweh to recall mercy in the midst of His correction by surrounding it with compassion.

Of what mercies can believers be sure, even in the midst of the hardest circumstances- Pastor leads his family in today's -Hopewell -Home- passage. 2Samuel 15-13-37 prepares us for the first serial reading of morning worship on the coming Lord's Day. In these twenty-five verses of holy Scripture, we learn that even while He was disciplining David, Yahweh was merciful to him through His surprising providence, favorable presence, and hearing of prayer-all which blessings unfailingly belong to believers in Christ.
Psalms 103:11-14 NKJV “For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father pities his children, So the Lord pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.”

Sometimes God allows us to become miserable. I know it sounds harsh and unloving, but occasionally God allows us to wallow in our own messes so that our eyes may be opened to His ability to reduce and save. In this edition I believe there are many who will be greatly encourage to know that the Lord's mercy never comes to an end.
