Jude's admonitions to the church continue toward his goal of equipping true believers to identify and oppose any who would seek to diminish or deny the glory, majesty, dominion, and authority of Jesus Christ our Lord. This equipping involves discernment sharpening, and faith building. Jude supplements his brief letter with references and allusions to greater scripture – both Old and New Testaments. In this context, the depth of his writing is better appreciated, thus we will seek to enhance our understanding of his words with several cross references. For the last couple sermons, our series in Jude has been organized according to 2 columns recording his descriptions of the ungodly and his admonitions to the holy in verses 16-23. Placing these references side by side, we find the contrasts are helpful in understanding our calling to contend for the faith once for all delivered to the saints. Whereas the ungodly are scoffers – the holy keep themselves in the love of God and whereas the ungodly follow their passions – the holy wait for the mercy of Jesus. In verse 18, Jude uses the phrase: “in the last time” as a reference to the societal context of a world in the post-incarnation side of history. This reference echoes Peter's use of “the last days” in II Pet 3:3. Given this understanding and corrective against an exclusively 'yet future' application of these texts, it nevertheless stands to reason that their relevance for the church has only increased since the time of their writing therefore let us listen with all the more rapt attention.

Truman The Adequacy of Words. Genesis 1:1-4 - In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Pastor, our God is a God who speaks. p52 His word is powerful and creative. p53, true? All divine acts are performed by speech. (4) Judgment, Gen. 3: 17ff, 6:7, 11 :6f, Ps. 46:6 (5) Grace: Luke 7:1-10, Rom. 1:16 His word is a means of His presence. p53 How is divine speech a fundamental aspect of the special relationship that exists between God and those made in His image? The Word as God's Presence 1. God's name is placed upon his people; Gen. 17:5, Num. 6:21, Deut. 12:5, etc. (cf. above, A, 2,8), I Sam. 12:22, Isa. 43:1,7, 45:3f, 62:2, Amos 9:12, Matt. 28:19f, Rev. 2:17,22:4. 2. The word is written on their heart: Deut. 6:6, Prov. 3:3,7:3, Ps. 119:11, Ezek. 11:19[, 18:31,36:26,37:23,27, Isa.ll:9, 51:7,54:13, Hab. 2:14, Ps. 37:31,40:8, Jer. 24:7,32:40, John 6:45, II Cor. 3:2f, I Thes. 4:9, Heb. 8:8-12, I John 2:27, Jer. 31 :31-34 key text. His word is active and powerful. p54 “As Lord, God controls all things, and controls them by his speech. All of God s actions are performed by his word, his speech. His "decretive will," therefore, by which he controls the whole course of nature and history , is a function of his word. Everything happens because God has ordered it to happen by his word.” - Dr John Frame Words are the means God has chosen for His presence. p57 Presence, or Covenant Solidarity (priestly office) a. "I will be with you," Gen. 26:3,28:15,31:3,46:4, Ex. 3:12,93:14, Deut. 31:6,8 23, Judges 6:16, Jer. 31:33. Isa. 7:14, I Cor. 3:16ff, John 17:25, Matt. 28:20, Rev.21:22. God's chosen means for revealing Himself to His people. p57 Knowing God 1. God knowable (Rom. 1:21 ), but incomprehensible (Isa. 55 :8-9). a. In one sense, all people know God (Rom. 1:21 ) b. Only believers possess saving knowledge, knowledge of God as friend (John 17:3, Matt. 11:27, John 1:14,1 Cor. 2:9-15,1 John 5:20). Some of what I say below will pertain to both kinds of knowledge, but I am focusing on the first. 2. To know God is to know him as Lord (Ex. 14:18,33:11-34:9,1 Kings 8:43, I Chron.28:6-9): "that they may know that I am the Lord." Without a clear word from God, a clear promise, we are without hope. Words in Service of the Divine. Are human use of words important in theology? Words are the human means of responding to God and communicating with each other about God. p57 The importance of history. p58 Exodus 12:26-27 - And when your children say to you, ‘What do you mean by this service?' 27 you shall say, ‘It is the sacrifice of the Lord's Passover, for he passed over the houses of the people of Israel in Egypt, when he struck the Egyptians but spared our houses.'” And the people bowed their heads and worshiped. Is the ritual of Passover meaningless without the historical framework in which to understand it? What was the role of the prophet? Sermon- The Second Commandment, Heidelberg Catechism - Lord's Day 35 - Questions 96-99, Exodus 20-1-12-John H. Johnson, Tyler Orthodox Presbyterian Church-2023-01-08--HEIDELBERG CATECHISM-PART 3- OUR THANKFULNESS- LORD'S DAY 32-52-LORD'S DAY 35- Questions 96-99--Q96. What does God require in the second commandment---A. We are not to make an image of God in any way,-1- nor to worship Him in any other manner than He has commanded in His Word.-2---1- Deut. 4-15-19- Is. 40-18-25- Acts 17-29- Rom. 1-23. -2- Lev. 10-1-7- Deut. 12-30- I Sam. 15-22, 23- Matt. 15-9- John 4-23, 24.--Q97. May we then not make any image at all---A. God cannot and may not be visibly portrayed in any way. Creatures may be portrayed, but God forbids us to make or have any images of them in order to worship them or to serve God through them.-1---1- Ex. 34-13, 14, 17- Num. 33-52- II Kings 18-4, 5- Is. 40-25.--Q98. But may images not be tolerated in the churches as -books for the laity----A. No, for we should not be wiser than God. He wants His people to be taught not by means of dumb images-1- but by the living preaching of His Word.-2---1- Jer. 10-8- Hab. 2-18-20. -2- Rom. 10-14, 15, 17- II Tim. 3-16, 17- II Pet. 1-19.
The Wisemen understood the times more than the chief priests and the scribes. Being religious and even being in the church doesn't mean you will understand what God is doing in the earth today. We are missing what is happening in our day. We are missing the signs of the times. Because we are missing it, we are being shaken. I want to be more like the Wisemen and less like the chief priests and scribes. The scripture says, “Those who sit in darkness…Have seen a great light" (Matt. 4:16). I want to be watching and waiting, being able to be led by the signs of the times. The prophetic word shined for them when the star didn't. When what was leading them in the natural went dark, that which was supernatural didn't. When things get dark and our star disappears for a minute, what do we lean on? We lean on the spoken and written word of God. Q86. Since we have been delivered from our misery by grace alone through Christ, without any merit of our own, why must we yet do good works---A. Because Christ, having redeemed us by His blood, also renews us by His Holy Spirit to be His image, so that with our whole life we may show ourselves thankful to God for His benefits,-1- and He may be praised by us.-2- Further, that we ourselves may be assured of our faith by its fruits,-3- and that by our godly walk of life we may win our neighbours for Christ.-4---1- Rom. 6-13- 12-1, 2- I Pet. 2-5--2- Matt. 5-16- I Cor. 6-19, 20. -3- Matt. 7-17, 18- Gal. 5-22-24- II Pet. 1-10, 11. -4- Matt. 5-14-16- Rom. 14-17-19- I Pet. 2-12- 3-1, 2.--Q87. Can those be saved who do not turn to God from their ungrateful and impenitent walk of life---A. By no means. Scripture says that no unchaste person, idolater, adulterer, thief, greedy person, drunkard, slanderer, robber, or the like shall inherit the kingdom of God.--Q88 Q. What is the true repentance or conversion of man---A. It is the dying of the old nature and the coming to life of the new.--Q89. What is the dying of the old nature---A. It is to grieve with heartfelt sorrow that we have offended God by our sin, and more and more to hate it and flee from it.--Q90. What is the coming to life of the new nature---A. It is a heartfelt joy in God through Christ, and a love and delight to live according to the will of God in all good works.--Q91. But what are good works-- -A. Only those which are done out of true faith, in accordance with the law of God, and to His glory, and not those based on our own opinion or on precepts of men.

On April 26, 2020, Bro. Houston takes a message from the text II Pet 1:3. His topic is “How to Virus Proof Your Faith Part II”. He speaks on how we can continue to grow in Christ even though we are physically separated from each other. He is not limited to our physical church buildings, but is with us no matter where we go. Listen as he discusses how our bodies are God’s tabernacle. We are obligated to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.

The title for today's message is borrowed from a line in the Robert Frost poem: “The Road Not Taken”. Frost muses in retrospect how the course of one's life can often present tow options and the eventual consequences are realized along the way which may have been obscured at the time of choosing. Such is the situation in the diverging paths of Abram and his nephew Lot in Genesis 13. This seemingly insignificant negotiation of where to graze one's numerous flocks has ripple effects for generations as the biography of the patriarch's history in the land unfolds. For Abram, the incident serves to illustrate Godly character and faithfulness based on his confidence in the promises of God having returned to calling on His name. For Lot, however, this moment marks a parting of ways which will probe to be a path of severe discipline. The parenthetical narrator's note in verse 10 foreshadows judgement on the horizon for the inhabitants of Lot's new home town, as Moses reminds the reader “This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.” The scenario provides a telling contrast documenting the fruit of these decisions through the next few chapters o0f Genesis. Calvin writes of Lot's decision in particular: “...even as he thought he was living in heaven, he had already sunk almost into hell.” Yet despite Lot's misplaced affections which take their eventual tole on his livelihood, his homeland, his lineage, his dignity, and his relationship to Abram, he is mercifully spared ultimate judgement as Peter declare of him that he was eventually rescued as a righteous man greatly distressed by the conduct of the wicked around him (II Pet 2:7). Themes featured in our text today will be expounded further as the record continues...
Verse one of Peter's first epistle to converts across the Roman empire identifies his credentials, the nature of his audience, and the area in which they lived. As to his qualifications and office, he simply introduces himself as “Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ”. He does not go to great lengths asserting his leadership position in the church, rather he emphasizes the shared experience of all true believers from eye witnesses of Jesus' glory to new converts in distant gentile lands as (II Pet 1:1) “to those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ.” Peter identifies his readers as 'elect exiles' – a weighty term strong enough to bear the sovereign grace of salvation and the unique calling of the Christian requiring resolve and endurance. We are elect as we are chosen by a personal and mighty God who has ordained for Himself a people who would be ransomed unto the praise of His glory, chosen in the mystery of His merciful counsel from eternity past. We are exiles in that our new identity in Christ has so radically set us apart from the ordinary state of fallen man that we find our experience is one of a sojourner, a citizen of a holy and independent nation (I Peter 2:9a, 11). Finally verse one reveals what geographical and national regions these exiles are estranged in. History places these territories all to the north of Asia Minor (modern Turkey). The gospel was dispersing quickly through the Roman regions unto the known world and with it came apostolic letters of strengthening encouragement for the early church, these treasured letters were proclaimed and preserved through the ages even unto our hands today...
Waiting is one of the hardest things for me to do. I would rather work then wait. Somehow I always end up in the wrong lane or the wrong line, and I‘m forced to wait. Psalm 33:20 reminds that “Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.” II Pet.3:9 says “the Lord is not slack concerning His promise,… Not willing that any should perish .“ God’s delays are not His denials. He has a greater blessing in store for you. You can be sure that one day the waiting will end, and you will start worshipping and praising Him. Keep trusting in the Lord to work on your behalf. You’re waiting will turn into worship and praise.
We believe that the Bible is the sole basis of faith and service to God. The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation to those who believe, for in it the righteousness of God is revealed (Rom. 1:16-17). The Holy Scriptures is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished for all good works (II Tim. 3:15-17). God has purposely hidden His words in mystery (Rom. 16:25), so that men who strive to understand the Scripture through their own worldly knowledge can never come to know the truth (II Tim. 3:7). The gospel preached by those who are not sent by God is called by the Apostles “another gospel” (Gal. 1:6-7). And the use of the Gospel which deviates from the truth or from its true meaning will ineluctably lead to perdition (II Pet. 3:15-16).

APOSTASY- UNGODLY MEN Apostle Jude cautions that certain ungodly men have crept in unawares turning the grace of God into lasciviousness; showing a desire for, or unseemly interest in, erotic sex, provoking lust. This is being done by their denials of Jesus and mocking His divine holiness. “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not,”(II Pet. 2:1-3). Peter describes the ungodly men revealed in Jude that operate in the last days. They will promote a religious system denial of the blood sacrifice of Jesus. They will go the way of Cain. They run greedily the way of Balaam, the way of the hireling, after rewards of men,”(Num. 22). Perishing in the gainsaying of Core; insurrection against God and His man Moses (Num.16:10 and Heb. 5:4-6), “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, today have I begotten thee. 6 As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec,”[Thou art a priest forever](Heb. 5:6).

JOINT HEIRS WITH CHRIST “And if ye be Christ's then are ye Abraham's seed, and justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” Gal. 3:29. We are made spiritually perfect forever according, “For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified” Heb. 10:14. Paul saysChristians are heirs, Col. 4:7. Peter says we are heirs, (I Pet. 1:4); James says we are heirs, (Jam. 2:5). The Will shows the inheritance, a new nature (II Pet. 1:4), life of peace with God, (Rom. 5:1), an inheritance in Heaven, I Cor. 2-9, an inheritance on Earth. “ ...his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.” Acts 14:3. Apostle Paul says that we are Joint heirs with Jesus Christ. “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, buy ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ, if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” (Rom. 8:25-17). “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” (Lk. 12:32). The focal point in the history of salvation is the cross of Jesus Christ. The significance is spoken of as a ransom paid to redeem enslaved man, an acquittal before the divine bar of justice, or a victory over sin and death, the effective powers in salvation belongs to God and not to man. Salvation is a free gift of God. Do not trust your feelings, they change. Stand on God's promises in the Bible. They never change! “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” (Jn. 6:37). In His infinite grace and mercy, God ordained this exchange.
Jesus Took Our Curse God wants you mature and free. “He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, shall also freely give me all things.” Rom. 8:32. “We have everything we need to grow in the fullness of Christ.” II Pet. 1:3. “You are free in Christ!” Jesus said in Jn. 8:32, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Our sacrifice, “For ye are bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” I Cor. 6:20.If the Devil can deceive you into believing you're not free, you won't experience the freedom which is your inheritance. You can be free from deep spiritual, mental and emotional turmoil. The truth will set you free. Once free, you will quickly mature! For example, in Gal. 5:1, we see, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” Jam 1:22-27,22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. 26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. 27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
This is the fifth class on the book of Hebrews. This Bible class was taught at the Pilot Point Church in Pilot Point Texas. The following is the outline of the class. Son versus the prophets Hbr 1:1-2 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by [His] Son Hebrews 1:2-3 He appointed heir of all things 2. He made the worlds 3. He is brightness of God’s glory 4. The express image of God 5. Upholding all things by the word of his power 6. Purged our sins 7. Sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high Jesus is greater than the Angels Chapter 1:4-2:18 Angels God has used angels to carry messages from Himself to man. communicate with us outside our five senses • God has used angels to arrange blessings for humans. • God has used angels to deliver us from harm. • God has used angels to answer prayer • God will use angels to escort me to Heaven when I die. Comparing Jesus with the angels Jesus: • Only begotten Son • Direct lineage to God • Worship Him • Sits on the throne • God the father calls Him God Angels: • They're not • They never • Never worshipped • They serve • Ministering spirits Hebrews 2 1 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. 2For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, 3how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, 4God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will? Drift also Leak Out Acts 13:52…. filled with joy • Ephesians 5:18… filled with the Holy Spirit • 2 Corinthians 7:4…filled with comfort • Matthew 5:6… Hunger and thirst • Romans 15… filled with knowledge Hebrews 2 (NKJV) 1 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. Hebrews 10 (NIV) 28Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? Hebrews 2 (NKJV) 1 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. 2For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, 3how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, 4God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will? Outline for chapter 2:5-18 Another problem associated with angels In the first chapter the writer emphasizes the Son’s deity now, he emphasizes Jesus humanity to complete the picture of why the Son is greater than the angels. • Not only God but man and He can bridge a gap that the angelic host could not. 5It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking. 6But there is a place where someone has testified: • “What is mankind that you are mindful of them, a son of man that you care for him? 7You made them a little lower than the angels; you crowned them with glory and honor 8 and put everything under their feet.” • In putting everything under them, God left nothing that is not subject to them. Yet at present, we do not see everything subject to them. •[9But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.10In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, Not only did Jesus become flesh • Not only did Jesus live in the flesh • Not only die in the flesh • But He was raised in the flesh • He assended in the flesh-He is still a man, He kept His humanity Hebrews 2 (NKJV) 5It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking. 6But there is a place where someone has testified: • “What is mankind that you are mindful of them, a son of man that you care for him? 7You made them a little lower than the angels; you crowned them with glory and honor 8 and put everything under their feet. SIDE STUDY ON THE DESTINY OF CHRISTIANS James 2: 26 for as the body without the spirit is dead, Philippians 1:21-24 21For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.22But if I am to live on in the flesh, this will mean fruitful labor for me, and I do not know which to choose. 23But I am hard-pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better; 24yet to remain on in the flesh is more necessary for your sake. To depart and be with Christ for that is very much better. YOUR RESURRECTED GLORIFIED HUMAN BODY - God’s extreme makeover. Resurrection of mortal body Romans 8:10-11 If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Philippians 3:20-21 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. Resurrection Mar 12:24 Jesus replied, “Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God? 1Cor 15:12 Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? The scope of our redemption demands it. The Biblical view of man. (Gen. 1:12, 18 &25) 2. Death - the enemy of God. (I Cor. 15:26) 3. Salvation means, literally, to be made whole. Heb.10:39 Salvation of soul. 1Cor. 5:5 Salvation of Spirit. Rom 8:23 The redemption of our bodies. Our destiny demands it. God became a man with a body. (John1:1, 14) 2. Jesus’ destiny is our destiny. (Rom. 8:17) 1Cr 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, [and] become the firstfruits of them that slept.3. He promised we would never die. (John 11:25-26) Our new environment demands it. 1. “New heavens and new earth” (II Pet. 3:13 - Heb. 1:12) 2. Powerful unimaginable changes. The ultimate makeover (I Cor. 15:37) 1Cr 15:35-38 But someone will say, "How are the dead raised? And with what kind of body do they come? “You fool! That which you sow does not come to life unless it dies; and that which you sow, you do not sow the body which is to be, but a bare grain, perhaps of wheat or of something else. But God gives it a body just as He wished, and to each of the seeds a body of its own Incredible Change Our new environment demands it. Powerful unimaginable changes. Actual changes no digestive system - (I Cor. 6:13) no sexual relationship - (Mt. 22:30) no aging - (I Cor. 15) glorious - (I Cor. 15) powerful - no handicaps - (I Cor. 15) perfectly fitted for our new home - (I Cor. 15) I John 3: 1-3 1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure 2 CORINTHIANS 5:1-4 Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile, we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 2 CORINTHIANS 4:16-17 Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, Romans 8:17-18 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. IT WILL HAPPEN AT THE 2ND COMING OF CHRIST There will be 3 great signs. (I Thess. 4:14-18) 1. The last great trumpet. 2. The shout of Michael. 3. The appearance of Jesus with all the spirits of the saved who have died. Then the resurrection of dead Christian bodies & then the changing of all our bodies. All in the blink of an eye Hebrews 2 (NKJV) 5It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking. 6But there is a place where someone has testified: • “What is mankind that you are mindful of them, a son of man that you care for him? 7You made them a little lower than the angels; you crowned them with glory and honor 8 and put everything under their feet. The Jews spoke of 3 worlds The world that was = the world before Mt Sinai 2. The world that is = as the Jewish nation 3. The world to come = when the Messiah comes Hebrews 2 (NKJV) 5It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking. 6But there is a place where someone has testified: “What is mankind that you are mindful of them, a son of man that you care for him? 7You made them a little lower than the angels; you crowned them with glory and honor 8 and put everything under their feet. In putting everything under them, God left nothing that is not subject to them. Yet at present, we do not see everything subject to them 9But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. 10For it was fitting for Him, for who are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
Test the Spirits Seduction from the True Faith Evangelist Derek Prince made this bold statement, “I suppose for every one person the devil deceives by atheism, there must be thousands persons in hell whom he deceived by religion. False religion has deceived humanity down through the ages, century by century, in untold numbers. And this situation has not changed today.” The Bible warns us very clearly that deceptions of religion are going to increase in a remarkable measure. And those that believe are going to be subjected to every kind of pressure to seduce them from their true faith. He deals with two main forms of deception in this teaching: 1) Departures from Christianity - that is deceptions which claim to have their origin to being Christians, and often lay claim to the title of Christian. 2) Those type of religion or spiritual activity which lay no claim to being Christian. With reference to departures from Christianity, (I Tim 4:1:5), “You cannot depart from the faith unless you have been “in the faith”. This activity is traced directly to evil spirits or demons. They are called seducing spirits and the teachings they bring forth are called doctrines of demonism. The ultimate goal of these seducing spirits is to win people away from the Lord, Jesus Christ. (II Pet 2:1-3), False teachers in the church, privily bring in heresy that being damnation. Heresy is not rejecting Scripture totally it is choosing how much of the Scriptures you will believe. "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good," said Paul (I Thess. 5:21) . "Beloved, believe not every spirit," wrote John, "but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world" (I John 4:1)
Name Above Every Name Jesus Christ is unequaled in Power, (Psa. 69:6). He has a name above every name,” as is shown in (Phil. 2:9-11). In (Hebr. 2:17, 3:2), He “is a Faithful High Priest,” that never fails. Since He is unchangeable, (Heb. 2:22, 23), and (Heb. 13:8), “Jesus Christ, the same yesterday . . . today, forever,” we can depend upon His love and mercy. The majority people today would not deny that Jesus existed. Most would not deny that He died upon the cross. What they do deny is that Jesus is the Savior-- the Christ/Messiah. They deny that He is God come in the flesh. They deny His virgin birth, His sinless life and they reject that His death upon the cross was sufficient payment for our sins. They reject His triumphant Resurrection! They scoff at the idea of His Second Coming. (II Pet. 3:3-4), “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers [mockers], walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” We have every confidence in the authority of our Lord and the total defeat of Satan. The rebellion against God is great as people are filled with all unrighteousness.

Holy Communion tonight. DO NOT MISS CREATIVE MIRACLE SERVICE WITH ALBERT FRIDAY NIGHT 10/7/16. Snares, Trials and Temptations SIN THE HEART A person has no resistance at all to demons without Jesus! “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me,” (Phil. 4:13). The natural man without Christ, is spiritually weak and highly susceptible to infestation by demons. There is little he can do about fighting off demons if Christ is not dwelling within him. Our God said He is able --and he He knows how to deliver you! He intended that you and I have all joy, peace, victory and rest in our walk. He knows how to deliver you from all snares, all trials and temptations. If you will obey, commit and trust Him! “The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations,” (II Pet. 2:9). “. . . God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape that ye may be able to bear it,” (I Cor. 10:13). When the spirit or the heart is the stage where sin is enacted, it is a spiritual sin. Every Christian has a fleshly body and God is specific about how. He feels about the behavior of the flesh in such scriptures as: (Gal. 5:17; Rom. 8:7,8; and Jude 23), which says: “. . . hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.” The Lord knows that our own understanding is corrupt, selfish, self-centered. It doesn't matter that we've been born again and Christ's blood applied to our heart. Our reasoning remains untrustworthy! Our human understanding is suspicious, fearful.
