On this episode of Rumors of Doing Good, Rob sits down with Jitendra Nayak from Odisha, India, who has chosen to live life alongside the Dalit community. Rather than observing from a distance, Jitendra enters into their daily realities—sharing in their struggles, celebrating their resilience, and witnessing the quiet ways hope and goodness take root. In their conversation, they explore what it means to journey with people whose stories are too often overlooked, and how deep presence, long-term relationships, and solidarity can cultivate a kind of goodness that grows slowly but meaningfully. Jitendra's experience challenges us to rethink what it means to do good in our own communities, and invites us to notice the whispers of hope happening all around us.

In Matthew 13, Jesus taught about the productivity of the Word of God. He then addressed things that will limit its effectiveness, especially what he called thorns. Four specific things are named that represent thorns that choke the influence of the Word of God.
Welcome to Being a Parent is Hard! This week's episode, Living Among the Mean Moms, focuses on why some moms are unkind, even downright cruel, to other moms and/or other people's children. Whether it's gossiping, bullying, or excluding others, managing mean moms and teaching your children to manage this kind of difficult behavior, is an important survival skill in today's crazy world. When parents prize academic, social, or athletic competitiveness over basic values and kindness, thoughtless and hurtful behavior often ensues. The Vanity of Life Under the Sun Without the Son, Pt. 13Living Among the DeadEcclesiastes 9:1–12 | King's Chapel Live StreamEcclesiastes 9 confronts one of the hardest realities of life. Death touches everyone.Life under the sun often feels unfair, unjust, unpredictable, and unkind. The same struggles come to the wise and the foolish, the righteous and the unrighteous. No amount of wisdom, success, or effort can fully shield us from pain, loss, or uncertainty. This passage forces us to wrestle honestly with the brokenness of life in a fallen world. But Ecclesiastes does not leave us in despair. In the middle of life's uncertainty, we are reminded of a deeper hope. God holds His people in His hands. God sets His favor on His people. And through His Son, we are given a hope stronger than death itself. This message points us beyond the futility of life under the sun to the joy and security found in Christ. While this world is temporary and fragile, those who belong to Jesus are never abandoned or forgotten. If you have been wrestling with fear, discouragement, suffering, or questions about the meaning of life, this sermon is a reminder that even in a broken world, there is lasting hope in the Son.Connect with King's Chapel in Longwood, FL - ▶️ www.kingschapelfl.com▶️ https://www.facebook.com/KingsChapelfl▶️ https://www.instagram.com/kingschapelfl/For the GLORY of our Great GodFor the GOOD of our NeighborEcclesiastes 9 sermon, hope in suffering sermon, life and death Bible teaching, meaning of life Ecclesiastes, hope in Christ sermon, King's Chapel Longwood FL, biblical hope in hard times, God has us in His hands
Fr. Matthias Shehad explores the meaning behind the angel's question to the Marys at Christ's tomb: “Why do you seek the living among the dead?” He discusses how we often look for life, fulfillment, and God in places that are spiritually dead, such as worldly pursuits, fixation on the past, or merely external religious rituals. Fr. Matthias emphasizes that true life is found in repentance, love, holiness, and active communion within the Church. Drawing on Scripture, he highlights how the resurrection invites believers to leave behind spiritual death and embrace the new life Christ offers. He encourages reflecting on where we seek satisfaction and challenges us to walk away from places that bring no true life, trusting that God provides abundant, eternal life beyond what the world offers. #Resurrection #SpiritualLife #ChristianFaith #Repentance #FaithInChrist #ChurchCommunion #StPaulHouston #Coptic #FrMatthias Subscribe to us on YouTube https://youtube.com/stpaulhouston Like us on Facebook https://facebook.com/saintpaulhouston Follow us on SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/stpaulhouston Follow us on Instagram https://instagram.com/stpaulhouston Visit our website for schedules and to join the mailing list https://stpaulhouston.org
by Elder Chris McCool, Pastor (preached on April 5, 2026) On Easter Sunday of 2026, we looked at four questions that were asked of the ladies who came to Jesus’s tomb on Resurrection Day: Who shall roll us away the stone? Why seek ye the living among the dead? Why Weepest Thou? Whom Seekest Thou?...
Resurrection Sunday Service 2026 | Pastor Beau Bekendam
Luke 12:1-12 If Easter is true, our assumptions about reality need to change. We functionally assume: Death is final, that Power wins, and that Time is the eraser of all things. Bodily resurrection, however, means that Life can come out of Death, Weakness can defeat Power, and Hope can come from the most unlikely of places. Easter means there is always more to the Story.
This week we stepped into the resurrection story in Luke 24 and heard the question that still echoes today: “Why do you look for the living among the dead?” From the very beginning, God's heart has always been about relationship. In the Garden, He walked with humanity—close, present, near. Sin didn't just make us guilty, it created distance. But the entire story of Scripture is God relentlessly moving toward His people, refusing to give up on relationship, making a way for restoration. The cross deals with sin—but it was never the end goal. The resurrection reveals what God was after all along: life with Him again. If we reduce the gospel to sins forgiven, we stop at the doorway. But the invitation is deeper—into communion, into nearness, into relationship restored. From the Garden to the empty tomb to the Spirit within us, the story has always been this: God didn't just want to forgive you—He wanted you back. For more info, you can go to our website, check us out on Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube. 4/5/26 Service
We seek life through things like security and comfort; and there is nothing inherently wrong with wanting some measure of these things. But the life we seek is found in Jesus. It is in Jesus that we have been made alive!
Listen as Pastor Lawrence preaches from Luke 24:1-12.
In this Easter message, I walk through the story of the empty tomb in Luke 24 and focus on the angel's question, “Why are you looking for the living among the dead?” I challenge both skeptics and believers to consider what the resurrection really means—not just as something to believe, but as a truth that should transform how we think and live. Ultimately, I invite people to stop looking for life in the empty things of this world and to follow the risen Jesus, where true life is found.
Since the Garden of Eden, the human default has been the blend. Not total rebellion — just the mixture. God's blessing on our terms. Resurrection life with one hand still on the grave. It's the oldest deal ever offered, and we keep taking it. This Easter message asks the question the angels asked the women at the empty tomb — Why are you looking for the living among the dead? — and follows it all the way from Genesis 1, through the kosher laws, through the Fall, through the cross, to the Feast of Firstfruits and what it means that Jesus rose on that exact day. If you've ever wondered why God won't bless the mixture, why willpower never fixes what's broken at the root, or why you feel stuck even though you're saved — this one's for you.
Discussion QuestionsSermon Overview Because Jesus was raised as he predicted, you can trust all his promises.Digging Deeper 1. When you think about the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, what questions arise in your mind? 2. Why is it important to see (and believe) that Jesus' resurrection is both true and meaningful? What is lost if we abandon either of these? 3. Please read: Luke 24:6–7 “He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.” It was noted in the sermon that, in verse 6, the angels don't tell the women to remember that Jesus said the Son of Man would be delivered, killed, and raised—but that he must be delivered, killed, and raised. It had to happen. Why? Why did it have to happen? 4. How does Luke 19:10 (“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”) help us arrive at a solid answer to #3 above? 5. What are some of the historical details Luke provides for us, his readers, so that “we may have certainty” regarding the historical truthfulness of Jesus' resurrection from the dead? 6. Jesus predicted (promised) that he would rise from the dead, and then he did what he said he would do: he rose from the dead. Does this fact strengthen your confidence that he will do the other things he has promised to do as well? How so? 7. Jesus claimed that he could forgive sins (sins ultimately done against God). How does Jesus' resurrection from the dead help us trust that through him we truly can find forgiveness for our sin, guilt, and rebellion against God? 8. Jesus promises eternal life to those who trust him. How does his resurrection help us believe this promise? 9. Jesus has promised to come again to take his own to himself. How does his resurrection help us believe he will do what he has said in this regard? 10. Was there anything in particular from this sermon that helped you once again to marvel at the majesty of Jesus in his triumphant resurrection victory over sin, Satan, and the grave? Please share. Prayer

Matt Pearson, Senior Pastor of ClearView Baptist Church in Franklin, Tennessee speaks on "Why Do You Look for the Living Among the Dead?"
The question “Why do you seek the living among the dead?” reveals our tendency to look for life in things that cannot give it because we do not fully trust Jesus' promises. True life is found only in the risen Christ, through whom everything else in life is rightly understood. Sermon Preached by Chris Lewis on April 5, 2026 Foothill Church exists to glorify God by living as disciples of Jesus who make disciples of Jesus. https://foothill.church Learn about our For the Sake of His Name 2-Year Discipleship Journey: https://foothill.church/FTSOHN
Jesus' death on the cross paid the full price for sin, but the resurrection completed God's redemptive plan by defeating death, Satan, and the power of sin once and for all. The empty tomb is verified through eyewitnesses, the sealed rock tomb, the angelic announcement, and Jesus' post resurrection appearances to many, including more than 500 people at once. Because He lives, believers share in His victory and can boldly proclaim not “He was risen,” but “He is risen”—a present and eternal reality.

Since the fall of the Syrian regime in December 2024, the NGO Handicap International has recorded 725 accidents and nearly 1,400 victims of landmines and explosive ordnance throughout the country, compared to 933 victims in 2023. The increase in these figures in recent months is partly due to the return of residents to war-torn areas previously occupied by Assad's forces.
