The crew meets the Ashen One, a mystical AI that Hitomie and the Fremen have been hiding all along--and turns out it's an evolved form of Ash the Business Robot from Android world!? With the Danites growing impatient, Hitomie plays her final card to bring Omie into her master plan...will the long lost friends finally reclaim the connection they once shared, or is the world of Dune too cruel for Omie to bear? Jen Ellison is a director living in Chicago, IL.
The Crew gets super high! With Ruddy having accidentally ingested the hyper-potent and sacred Water of Life, the Fremen decide to test the Shuffle Crew with a spice ritual that gets them super high! Omie has to finally come clean to Hitomie, and Phia has to somehow convince her Moritani superiors that everything is super normal despite being high as hell! It's Shuffle Quest! It's time to ride the sands of Arrakis! Hitomie, still furious after learning Omie has the powers of their religion's priesthood, leads our heroes to a secret outpost of free, self-sufficient Fremen in order to learn more about the Red Star's presence. But with unresolved resentment lingering between the two old friends (plus Ruddy and Phia's growing hatred of the boring world of Dune), things are bound to boil over. It's Shuffle Quest! Omie can hardly believe her luck--reuniting with her long-lost friend Hitomie, but also joining a faith that centers women with a focus on charity and good works? Sounds basically perfect! But not everything is as it seems in the world of Dune, and also Phia and Ruddy need to drum up something to do or else they're just going to sit around bored while Omie does religion stuff. Also remember: Hitomie doesn't know Omie stole the power of the priesthood from the Followers of Elohim...she probably won't mind if she finds out, right? It's Shuffle Quest! Holy crap, it's Hitomie! Omie's long-lost childhood friend is back, as a Reverend Mother of the Bene Gesserit on the world of Dune! Will Omie and Hitomie overcome their thorny past and rekindle their friendship? Meanwhile, Phia and Ruddy come to grips with being stuck in a world they both find extremely boring. Enter the weird world of spice, deserts, worms, weird guys, wet guys, creepy guys, and scary guys! It's Dune! Our heroes travel to a universe of noble houses and weird spice politics, finding themselves in the employ of the noble house of Moritani. The Shuffle Crew is given a mission to investigate a rogue sect of Bene Gesserit priestesses on Arrakis, but what they find is more than they bargained for. It's Shuffle Quest! This week we’re all comedy and kids! We’re joined by comedian Tim Kazurinsky to talk about his time on “Saturday Night Live”; we’ll get his review on how Eddie Murphy did hosting the show! Jen Ellison from Second City is with us to celebrate the Chicago comedy institution’s 60th anniversary. Comedy podcast host Jim Flannigan joins us to talk about his podcast “What Do We Know,” and children’s author Steve Metzger tells us about the book Yes I Can Listen.
Jen and Erica end out our season on an American classic: Everclear.
There was a great Chicago Reader article in 2009 when China Place Liquor City opened in Chicago and it took us years to get down there and finally get some bottles and baijiu and then several more to film more Drunk Monkeys and finally try Red Star Erguotou Baijiu on-air for you.
Marolo also makes a wonderful Chamomile Grappa and, spoiler alert, Jen and Erica are not drinking that in this episode. They *are* trying Marolo Grappa di Barolo. Look, at this point in filming a season, we're all several drinks into the night, if you know what I mean.
Rosé was the trendy flavor of the summer and so Jen and Erica are trying Svedka Rosé Vodka, vodka with added Rosé wine.
Let's say right off the bat that we don't blame Ricura Horchata -- it's a cream-based liqueur and however long that should be fresh, we're sure it was sitting around the house for far longer than that.
Jen and Erica have some trouble saying "Bulle Rock" but they get there while tasting Copper Horse Bulle Rock Gin.
Jen and Erica are trying a Stroop Waffel liqueur available in the US from World Market.
Jen and Erica are starting off the season with a gauntlet! Friend of the show John Mannion, who has his own show John Drinks, sent us a box of Drinks by Dram. The set came with five mini-bottles and we drink them all in a single episode. We plow through: * Williams Chase Pink Grapefruit Gin * Chase Eureka Lemon Marmalade Vodka * Sharish Blue Magic Gin * Dark Matter Spiced Rum * Ableforth's Cold-Distilled Absinthe
Remember when we said we'd be "back in 2018 with more episodes"? Well, 2019 is the new 2018. Anyway, we've got eight great episodes in the can and we'll be releasing them every Friday morning for the next eight weeks. Check out drunkmonkeyshow.com for more information, or follow us on Twitter or Facebook.

Jen and Erica approach Southern Comfort Lime with trepidation.
Jen and Erica crack open a bargain bin find: a Hazelnut Espresso Vodka from Crater Lake Spirits of Bend, Oregon.
Erica's brother and sister-in-law sent her this White Rye Whiskey from South Carolina some time ago and she and Jen are finally trying it. Thanks, Christopher and Katie!
Jen and Erica are trying tiny bottles of a German party drink, Kleiner Feigling.
Jen and Erica are trying something they hope is good for a change: Meletti 1870 Bitter, from the same maker as the great Amaro Meletti.
Jen and Erica are trying a Cucumber Lime Vodka from Svedka.
Jen and Erica are back in the studio, this time trying Lil Tasties, samples of tea-based liquors from Townshend's Tea and Thomas & Sons.
It's our final liquor tasting from this year's Chicago Women's Funny Fest - Jen and Erica are trying NutLIquor, a peanut butter liqueur.
Live from the 2017 Chicago Womens Funny Fest, Jen and Erica are trying Baileys Almande, an almond milk version of Baileys Irish Cream. Erica is really excited to try this one, because of her lactose intolerance.

Live from the 2017 Chicago Womens Funny Fest, Jen and Erica are trying the turpentine-can shaped Stillhouse Original Moonshine Mint Chip Whiskey.

This week, she looks at the history of the... movement?... and where it is now. PLUS, the loveable robot Patreon reappears, and we talk about something other than Hamilton on Talking Musicals, kind of!
