Most people think following Jesus is about getting to heaven.Jesus had something much bigger in mind. When Jesus called His first disciples, He didn't simply invite them into a relationship—He immediately gave them a mission:“Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of people.”In this opening message of our “Wait…What?” series, we explore one of Jesus' most challenging truths:Rescued people were never meant to become spectators. What happens when curiosity with the supernatural opens a door you can't close? In this intense, uncensored episode, TruthSeekah and Arien share their raw testimony of diving deep into dark witchcraft, spells, and the occult, only to find themselves tormented by shadow entities and demonic oppression. What started as seeking spiritual power quickly spiraled out of control.Their journey to find a safe haven and true spiritual freedom led them right into the doors of the Hosanna Assembly of God in Louisiana. Little did they know, this church would soon explode into national headlines as a cult, the very real scandal that inspired HBO's True Detective Season 1. From surviving an 8-foot shadow entity attack in an open field to coughing up blood and hitting absolute rock bottom, this is a story of extreme spiritual warfare. But more importantly, it is a story of radical redemption.Hear exactly how Jesus and the fire of the Holy Spirit provided instant deliverance, and how true Biblical mysticism differs from the dark traps of the occult.

In Part 3 of Childhood Vows, Pastor Mark Bonilla shares how a divided mindset can lead to a controlling heart instead of a trusting heart. From comparison, not enough, good enough attitudes we learn how to control and manipulate people and situations to create our desired outcomes instead of trusting which leads to the best outcome. These “childhood vows” shape who we are and many times we don't realize they are taking place. They affect relationships, marriage, parenting, confidence, and even your relationship with God.Through the story of Martha and Mary we see how a divided mindset does not allow us to see the very best in a situation. However, it is not until Martha finally sees Jesus for who he really is ‘Messiah, Son of God, Teacher that he mindset shifts and she can find true peace. In this episode, we listen to a pointed question put forth to subtly persuade a person, as portrayed in Sangam Literary work, Aganaanooru 250, penned by Selloorkizhaar Maganaar Perumboothankotranaar. The verse is situated amidst the swaying seashore trees of the ‘Neythal’ or ‘Coastal landscape’ and recollects an incident and presents its consequences. In this trip to the shore, we perceive scenes of playful fun and more, as we listen to the confidante say these words to the lady, intending to persuade her to further her relationship with the man: “What could be the reason? Long may you live, my friend! Tormented by the muddled spray of the brimming waves, the swaying Laurelwood tree's bee-buzzing fine pollen scatters down, making the young sand to waft with a fragrance, amidst the picturesque mounds on the shore. Here, when we were playing together with our many mates, asking the helpers on his tall, ornamented chariot to step aside, a man wearing garlands around his neck and head, came close to us, and rendered words praising our lined sand houses. Without receiving words any in response, he parted away from there. From that moment, suffering deeply, which causes thick arms to wane, and troubled by the slander of cruel-mouthed womenfolk in this beautiful, little hamlet of the fisherfolk with exquisite nets, filled with groves by the shore, with bangles slipping away from the forearms, we remain. And so, along with us, the shore too sleeps not, in the middle of the night!” Time to take a walk on that ancient shore and learn more! The confidante starts with a question, pondering on why certain things are happening. Then, she takes us to the seashore and points to how a dancing ‘Punnai tree’, dashed against by the brimming waves, drops its fragrant pollen on the sands, imbuing it with a delicious scent. On such a pretty spread of land, the lady and herself had been playing with many other friends, the confidante recollects. Then she talks about how a man had arrived there, stopped his chariot, asked his helpers to stay a little away, and had come close to them, and praised the sand houses they had been building. Those girls overcome with their sense of shyness, did not reply to him, and he had left quietly, the confidante remembers. Then she talks about how from that moment, there had been significant changes. As we have always seen, the confidante does not separate herself from her friend. So, she says that their arms had been thinning, the womenfolk of the town had been spreading slander, and because of that, their bangles had been slipping away. What the confidante actually means is that these are the changes that are visible in the lady! The confidante concludes by remarking how the shore too does not seem to get a moment of sleep, just like them, even in the dark hour of midnight! That note about the shore sharing the plight of the lady subtly speaks about the sisterhood felt with this element of nature! To us, these words may seem rather cryptic, making us ask, ‘What is the confidante trying to say?’. To understand what she means, we have to know of a protocol that seems to be inherent in these love relationships between the man and the lady. It all starts with the man’s eyes falling on a lady, then he falls in love with her, and wins her affection in return. But the tale does not end there! Apparently, the man has to convince the lady’s confidante about his love for the lady, and if convinced, the confidante will take his message to the lady, and after getting her consent too, will arrange for those trysts, which will deepen the relationship between the man and the lady, and from there, the confidante will go on to nudge the man to marry the lady, as we have seen in songs many. Quite complicated indeed! It makes me smile to think what people in the future will have to say about our so-called ‘simple and seamless’ courting practices of today! Returning to the verse, these words are the confidante’s way of telling the lady, ‘The man seeks your company. I know that you are in love with him too. Shall we take this forward?’. Their innate sense of modesty prevents them from speaking plainly, and that’s the reason for these particular musical words that transport readers across the ages to the past, and spread the delight of the scents and sights of that pristine shore forevermore!

"From Thrace, his worldly name being Anastasios, he was a slave to some Turks, and they compelled him to embrace Islam in Smyrna. As a penitent, he was tonsured at the monastery of Esphigmenou on the Holy Mountain. Tormented by his conscience, he desired to wash his sins in his own blood, so he went to Smyrna, where he showed a Cross and an icon of Christ's Resurrection to the Turks. He was beheaded on April 19th, 1819, at the age of nineteen. He appeared to his spiritual father, Germanos, after his death." (Prologue)

He is one of basketball's towering figures: "Mr. Clutch," who mesmerized his opponents and fans. The coach who began the Lakers' resurgence in the 1970s. The general manager who helped bring "Showtime" to Los Angeles, creating a championship-winning force that continues to this day. Now, for the first time, the legendary Jerry West tells his story -- from his tough childhood in West Virginia, to his unbelievable college success at West Virginia University, his 40-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers, and his relationships with NBA legends like Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, and Kobe Bryant. Unsparing in its self-assessment and honesty, West by West: My Charmed, Tormented Life (Little, Brown and Co, 2011) is far more than a sports memoir: it is a profound confession and a magnificent inspiration. This message centers on the profound significance of Good Friday—not merely as a day of reflection but as a moment to receive the transformative power and grace of God. The speaker emphasizes that Good Friday is "good" because of what Jesus' death accomplished for humanity, rather than just the event itself.Main Scripture: Romans 12:2, John 14:6Topic: Good Friday, Passover, EasterSupport the show ------------------------------------------WANT MORE?Say You Love Me 1: Building Healthy RelationshipsToxic 1: What are Toxic Thoughts? It's time for a dessert bracket full of madness to come down to one. The listeners voted. Did we listen? And what does that say about us? Come for the results, stay for the emotional baggage. Plus, we vibe out (even if our pets can't) with something that sure felt like small talk but, for technical podcasting reasons, wasn't.TSHE (might) Recommend / the jury's still outScarpettaTovalaConnect with the show! This is your show, too. 3. The debate shifts to the historical Nero, examining his legacy as both a builder and a man tormented by violent mistakes, including the murder of his mother. Germanicus notes that modern perceptions of Nero are often filtered through Victorian sentimentality or biased historical accounts. They compare contemporary leadership to a generational decline in Rome, moving from the magisterial balance of Augustus to progressively "weak" subsequent cohorts. Germanicus observes that the current emperor is too restless for the meditation required of a leader, which is visibly wearing him down. The speakers anticipate a period of chaos and renewal in America, similar to Rome's transition to the Flavian dynasty after Nero's suicide. The session concludes with a play about Xerxes' defeat, suggesting a similar "messenger of defeat" is currently heading toward Washington to report the failing war effort. (3)NORSEMEN

In Part 2 of the Christian-ish series as we examine how Godly sorrow brings repentance. We will never be able to experience the fullness of what God has in store for every believer unless we yield to the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus never called people to comfortable or casual Christianity. He called us to deny ourselves, take up our cross daily, and fully surrender our lives to Him.Main Scripture: 2 Corinthians 7:7-10Topic: Bible Teaching, Bible Study, Christian Leadership, Kingdom Builders, Living on a Mission, Use Your Gifts, Serve God, Pray Give Serve, Faith ForwardSupport the show ------------------------------------------WANT MORE?Say You Love Me 1: Building Healthy RelationshipsToxic 1: What are Toxic Thoughts? In a week filled with headlines about rising tensions between Iran, Israel, and the United States, many people are asking a deeper question:What did Jesus say about times like this?In the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 24, Jesus spoke directly about wars, global unrest, fear, and the uncertainty that would mark the last days. Hour 1: Silver & JD kick things off on a Friday with the Warriors' stunning win over the Houston Rockets in overtime last night, filled with contributions and intensity up and down a depleted roster. Although one win alone doesn't change the predicament of the Warriors' season, does this kind of fight make Steve Kerr want to continue coaching? Should the Warriors front office be more aggressive if Steph Curry and Draymond Green are invested in competing hard, even if the team appears destined for the play-in tournament? The guys unpack it all on The Sports Leader.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Richard Matheson's I Am Legend is often called the first modern vampire novel. Preceding Salem's Lot by 21 years, the story follows a would-be scientist named Robert Neville who also happens to be the last man on Earth. Tormented by the memory of his wife's horrific transformation, not to mention the hordes of vampires trying to break through his heavily fortified home, Neville spends his days systematically euthanizing the undead and searching in vain for a sustainable cure. But a surprising discovery throws his efforts into question while destabilizing his lonely life. In the latest episode of Bloody FM's The Losers' Club podcast, co-hosts Jenn Adams, Mac Gerber, Ashley Casseday, and Dan Caffrey revisit this seminal text as they explore the titles mentioned in Stephen King's Danse Macabre. Is Neville a likable protagonist? Do we understand Matheson's musings on germs? Why do adaptations always skew towards zombies and why does that ending pack such a punch? They'll answer these questions and more while discussing Matheson's larger body of work and incomparable contributions to the horror genre. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
