Life can be full of challenges; we can face them fearfully or courageously.God's children should remember that his ways are far higher than ours. We shouldn't try to understand them, just trust & obey him!We should base our obedience on God's commands that we already have (in the Bible), learning & obeying them.We should ask God to give us his power, love & self-control as we choose to be courageous.Remember, God is with us, he knows our future, and his plans work!2 Timothy 1:7, Joshua 1:1-9, Joshua 6:2-20

In Part 2 of Show Us Your Human, I sit down with Darren Palmer, a leader, entrepreneur, and someone who is incredibly passionate about connecting with others. We dive into the truths behind leadership that are rarely seen—the struggles, the doubts, and the human side of great leadership.ICYMI: About Darren PalmerDarren M. Palmer is a dynamic Serial Entrepreneur and the co-founder of one of the nation's fastest-growing agencies, Prosperity Partners Agency. With a mission to empower families and entrepreneurs, Darren and his partners are equipping leaders with the tools and strategies needed to achieve financial freedom. Before entering the insurance industry, Darren founded Self Publish -N- 30 Days, the #1 self-publishing company in the world, serving high-level entrepreneurs and helping them turn their stories into seven-figure platforms.Through mentorship and experience, Darren discovered the keys to building wealth—but also realized the deep gap in financial literacy within the business community. Refusing to stand on the sidelines, he became a solution in the marketplace, teaching others how to build legacy, protect income, and steward their financial future with confidence. What Makes Darren GreatWe kick off the conversation with an important question: What makes you great? Darren shares that his resilience and deep faith are what truly set him apart. He believes that faith fuels resilience—his ability to keep going even when life gets tough. Resilience, as Darren explains, isn't about never facing challenges, but about keeping faith through the trials. Darren's perspective on leadership is that trials and tribulations are part of the process, and they're what make us more than conquerors. The Struggles and The Strength Behind ResilienceAs we dig deeper, Darren reflects on the struggles that all great leaders face but don't always share with the public. He talks about moments when he's faced real doubts—whether it's in his personal life, in his business decisions, or in his role as a father. Even when Darren has felt like giving up, he speaks to the mechanisms he uses to fight back: controlling his thoughts, his tongue, and his temperament. He shares how positive thinking and speaking life into situations has helped him overcome the hardest challenges, even when it feels like life is constantly knocking him down. The Power of Faith in LeadershipFor Darren, his faith is the cornerstone of his resilience. He explains that, although he experiences moments of fear and doubt, he knows that faith—not perfection—is what keeps him going. Resilience comes from having a belief system strong enough to weather the storms of life. Darren explains that faith and doubt can coexist, and they often fuel each other in a powerful way. Doubt is the human experience, but faith provides the strength to carry on and take action in the face of it.The Power of Speech and ThoughtA key part of Darren's approach to resilience is his ability to control his thoughts and words. He describes the discipline it takes to train your thoughts to stay aligned with the promises of his faith. He acknowledges that we all have thoughts of doubt, but it's important to not let those thoughts dictate our reality. Verbalizing life and affirmations helps Darren stay in alignment with his purpose, no matter what challenges come his way.Your Team as a Source of StrengthWe also talk about the importance of having the right support system. Darren explains that resilience can't be done alone—surrounding yourself with people who align with your values and beliefs is critical for navigating life's toughest moments. Darren emphasizes that as leaders, it's crucial to be transparent with your team, especially in difficult times. By doing so, you allow your team to connect with you on a deeper level and gain strength from the humanity that's often hidden beneath the leadership façade.Taking Ownership of Your Own StoryTowards the end of the conversation, Darren talks about his personal growth and the realizations he's had about his role as a father, business owner, and leader. He reflects on how he used to resent his children because of the unmet expectations he had about being the perfect father. But he quickly realized that he couldn't hold them responsible for his past. Leadership requires self-awareness and a willingness to grow beyond personal struggles, which is exactly what Darren is doing.Key Takeaways:Resilience is not about avoiding challenges but about remaining faithful and hopeful even during hard times.Faith and doubt can coexist, and your faith can fuel your resilience in times of uncertainty.Controlling your thoughts and words is crucial for maintaining the right mindset in leadership.Surround yourself with a supportive team who can help you grow and hold you accountable. As leaders, embrace your humanity and let people see the authenticity behind the title.Resources Mentioned: Darren's website: www.selfpublishn30days.com Find Darren on social media: @selfpublishn30daysIf you're ready to grow as a leader, join me for my free monthly leadership workshop at rockygarza.com/confidenceKey Timestamps:00:00 Introduction to Unfinished Leadership00:49 Defining Resilience01:25 Facing Life's Challenges04:35 The Power of Thoughts and Words09:09 Maintaining Optimism and Integrity14:13 Faith as a Foundation17:49 The Role of Doubt in Belief18:04 Energizing Conversations19:42 The Power of Free Will21:07 Facing Doubt and Building Resilience23:42 Breaking Industry Molds25:50 Financial Literacy and Legacy28:05 Personal Reflections and Growth33:04 Embracing Humanity and Connection35:45 Final Thoughts and EncouragementTo join Rocky for his next free virtual event, go to https://rockygarza.com/beyondsuccessSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/trgs/donations

I never was fat. I was just muscled. Pudgy. Fluffy. I went to college, discovered sports, and my skin felt wonderful. That began a lifelong love affair with/ exercise. I also found the ice cream cooler at the end of the cafeteria. I might've put on a little weight in college! Maybe not the freshman 15, but more padding!!! After college, I was selected for a job on a cruise ship as a working journalist and had a wonderful time sailing worldwide.  I was terrified about gaining weight with all the gorgeous food they had. And I had a wine budget formy dining room table guests! After the ship, I travelled around by myself overseas.  Back in the states, I did several jobs before meeting my forever fellow. We moved to the West Coast, married, and had two children.    I was challenged to maintain a weight of 140- 150 pounds during this time. At 5 feet 2 inches, that is just too much for me.I had tried Weight Watchers back on the East Coast and tried it again, counting everything I ate, weighing, measuring, and wondering when my next snack would be. Well, it worked until 2020, when it didn't work. I found my way to intermittent fasting through Gin Stephens. That was back in 2021, November 6, to be exact, is the day I started.  I jumped on the wagon right then. I am the “pull off the Band-Aid kind of gal”, and I plunged into fasting between 16 and 18 hours. I began right away with the clean fast cause Gin schooled me.  I had impressive results and fell short of my goal of 125. When I started, I weighed 142, I think. And when I weighed in at 125, I had shed 17 inches of body fat. That was from November 2021 to February 2022. Yup! right through the holidays, ha ha! My first interview with Graeme (# 141 in 2022) shares that journey and success. Today, with Graeme, I wish to share…how I navigated open heart surgery and kept my fasting life alive…as the medical staff cheered and took notes!!To join the Patreon Community. "We all have our own thing, and we all have to make that decision every day about what's in it for us, is it worth it, and is it worth my time." Notable Moments 00:36 When to Say Yes or No 03:22 Invitations Increase with Familiarity 08:02 Facing Life's Tough Challenges 12:14 Managing Life's Responsibilities 14:17 Get Organized for Success Sometimes, the most powerful tool you have is a simple “no.” During my years at Disney, I learned that it's okay to not say yes to every opportunity. The more important thing is knowing which doors to walk through and which ones to keep closed. Success isn't about overloading your calendar. It's about making conscious choices so your time and energy add up to something worthwhile. I've seen leaders rise by grabbing big opportunities. Djuan Rivers seemed to say yes to challenging new roles again and again. He didn't accept every little invitation though. He chose the moves that advanced his career and expanded his world. On the flip side, I said no to a lot of late-night banquets and endless committees so I could be ready for what really mattered the next day. It comes down to this: “Is it worth it?” That's the question I challenge myself with all the time. The best use of your time is investing in things that help you grow, personally and professionally. Say yes to the adventure, the project, or the role that stretches you, but don't be afraid to save your time for when it counts. And here's another secret: A big part of making your life easier is tackling the hard things head-on. Write down the tough conversations you're avoiding, make a plan, and just get it done. Don't let the easy distractions pile up and rob you of bigger opportunities. Master the art of yes and no—your energy, focus, and future will thank you. Tragedy struck the towing industry multiple times in recent weeks as three tow operators lost their lives while performing roadside assistance. These deaths underscore the critical importance of Move Over laws that many drivers continue to ignore despite the fatal consequences. From the heartbreaking stories of Ken Sopasto in Florida and Richard Rodriguez in New York—both killed while working roadside—to the harrowing account of an Oklahoma City tower who narrowly escaped death when his quick-thinking colleague pulled him from a burning truck, this episode explores the very real dangers towing professionals face daily. As one veteran tower put it, "You can wear all the fluorescent you want, have all the fancy flashing lights, have all the trucks behind you. All it takes is that one person not to pay attention."Beyond safety concerns, the episode delves into troubling legal issues plaguing the industry. In Kansas City, a mother-son duo faces 18 felony charges for allegedly conducting illegal tows, falsifying documents, and harassing vehicle owners. Meanwhile, in Australia, a woman received a shocking $5,000 bill for a routine tow—a predatory practice exploiting regulatory loopholes. The violence directed at towing operators continues as well, with three tow trucks mysteriously set ablaze overnight in Brampton, Ontario. It's not all grim news, however, as Montana recently passed legislation giving towing vehicles preference in roundabouts, acknowledging the unique challenges these vehicles face. The American Towing Recovery Institute also announced numerous upcoming training opportunities across the country, including specialized sessions for handling electric vehicles through their new EV Clever app.As we wrap each episode, the message becomes increasingly urgent: stay on the passenger side of your truck, remain vigilant, and prioritize safety above all else. The towing industry shouldn't have to count more fallen colleagues simply because drivers can't be bothered to move over or slow down. Have you witnessed drivers ignoring Move Over laws? What will it take to change this deadly behavior?

Episode 58 When Michelle Taylor lost her son in a tragic house fire, she thought the nightmare couldn't get worse. She was wrong. Fueled by junk science, broken forensics, and a crime lab running on expired credibility, the prosecutors turned a grieving mother into a murder suspect. Twelve debris samples. Twelve false positives. And a justice system more interested in closing a case than finding the truth. This is the story of how bad science—and worse judgment—can burn an innocent life to the ground. Michelle Taylor stands for sentencing on May 30th. The fire didn't destroy her life. The system did. A mother's grief. A lab's lies. A system that chose conviction over truth. This is Michelle Taylor's story. This podcast is a true crime podcast about arson and criminal fires. Life will surprise you. It likes to throw curveballs at you at unexpected times. Will you swing or duck? Lent is nearing Holy Week, and we're reflecting on how a righteous man like Joseph faced chaos with virtue.  Picture this: Joseph's world flips upside down, yet once God's will clicks, he doesn't hesitate. He steps up as husband, guardian, and defender. Today's culture tells men to run from unplanned challenges, abandoning women and kids, and staying at work until 10 PM to "provide for your family." Joseph shows us differently. He prays, discerns, and acts. My challenge to you: take that hurdle in your life and hit your knees. Seek God's will through prayer today. Don't let the world's Herod choke out your call to greatness.  We kick off with St. Michael's prayer and close with St. Joseph, terror of demons—your spiritual wingmen. This episode's for men ready to ditch passivity, root themselves in Scripture, and prepare for life's game days. One week from Holy Week, it's time to fight. This is your battle cry, your call to arms.”  “Once his eyes were opened to the will of God, without hesitation, he leaned into it fully and embraced it with great virtue.”  “We were not made for comfort. Mitochondrial dysfunction as we age has been linked to muscle dysfunction, metabolism, overall energy levels, and resiliency. But what makes our mitochondria fail as we get older? It turns out to be related to a disruption in a process called mitophagy, the natural repair and recycling process that normally rebuilds and recreates healthy mitochondria to replace damaged ones. When mitophagy fails, mitochondria lose efficiency and cannot do their jobs, and we have a power failure. The compound that's key to keeping mitophagy happening normally is called Urolithin-A, and that compound is lacking in most of us because of a change over time in our gut microbiota. Timeline is renewing this process and making our mitochondria better with their product Mitopure. It will help you repair your cells, increase your strength, and become healthier.
