Never in the long, storied history of The Kevin O'Connor Show has KOC managed to hit ALL 30 NBA teams in one BONANZA of a podcast... until now! Headlined by the Golden State Warriors landing Jimmy Butler (and whether that move makes them a contender), what an incredible 2025 NBA Trade Deadline. The biggest LOSER on Deadline Day was the Phoenix Suns -- whose future now looks beyond bleak as they deal with the aftermath of failed Kevin Durant trade talks (and now: a toxic locker-room). But the Milwaukee Bucks aren't too far behind! KOC and Tom explain how the Kyle Kuzma deal spells doom for Milwaukee in the form of Giannis Antetokounmpo potentially asking for a trade as soon as this summer! And, why the Cleveland Cavaliers went from rich-to-richer in acquiring De'Andre Hunter from the Atlanta Hawks. Kevin explains why the Hawks' Deadline activity showed him that Trae Young's future in ATL is now in serious doubt. Plus: Tom and Kevin don't exactly see eye-to-eye on the MARK WILLIAMS fit with the Los Angeles Lakers. And what on earth were the Toronto Raptors doing acquiring Brandon Ingram? Why the Sacramento Kings acquisition of Jonas Valanciunas could be a jumbo-sized win, and so much more. This episode has it all, just hit play. The Lakers changed the NBA world overnight by pulling off one of the biggest trades in NBA history by adding Luka Doncic to their roster. Once this move was made, it started a rollercoaster of events that followed which now include the Lakers looking to make another trade. But this time, it seems that they are now targeting a player that NY has long coveted, Jonas Valanciunas. LA is fully in championship contention and pushed all their chips on the table. NY now must respond if they still want to add Valanciunas to this team... Troy Mahabir breaks all of this down! The New York Knicks have two main trade targets currently and could look to pull off a trade for one of them by the trade deadline. Backup center Mitchell Robinson continues to miss time with no indication of when he will return to NY. Jonas Valanciunas has been linked to the Knicks since the offseason, so the interest is clearly there. What's more surprising is the Knicks reported interest in Atlanta center Clint Capela. Capela had drawn interest from NY a few months ago but nothing ever came of it. But now NY seems to be showing trade interest once again in the ATL center... Troy Mahabir breaks all of this down! Washington Wizards vs. LA Lakers NBA Pick Prediction by Tony T. Wizards at Lakers Injuries Bey and Brogdon are out for Washington with Bagley doubtful. Hood Schifino, Vanderbilt and Wood are out for LA. Davis is questionable with LeBron probable. Recent Box Score Key Stats Wizards at Lakers 10:30PM ET—Washington drops to 6-35 following their 123-100 road defeat to Sacramento. The Wizards shot 36% with 24% from three. Jonas Valanciunas off the bench scored 23 points with 12 rebounds. Kyle Kuzma chipped in with 13 points with seven rebounds. Washington allowed 48% shooting to the Kings with 31% from three. LA fell to 22-18 with their 116-102 road defeat to the LA Clippers. The Lakers hit 50% with 33% from three. LeBron James posted 25 points with 11 assists. Rui Hachimura contributed 19 points with seven rebounds. LA allowed 53% shooting to the Clippers with 37% from three.
Multiple NBA insiders have linked Jonas Valanciunas to the Knicks since the offseason and with Mitchell Robinson still out, the Knicks could be forced to make a move. Since the interest is there, Valanciunas makes the most sense for NY. The trade wouldn't cost them a lot, allow them to have more availability off the bench and continue to expand the rotation. NY only makes this move if they know something about Mitchell Robinson that we don't. But if the Wizards are going to make this with NY, they want their first round pick included in the offer or there will not be a deal... Troy Mahabir breaks all of this down! Washington Wizards vs. Philadelphia 76ers NBA Pick Prediction 1/8/2025 by Tony T. Wizards at 76ers Injuries Bagley, Bey, Brogdon, Davis, Poole and Vukcevic are out in Washington with Kuzma questionable. Embiid, George, Lowry, Martin and McCain are out for Philadelphia with Drummond questionable. Recent Box Score Key Stats Wizards at 76ers 7PM ET—Washington fell to 6-28 after their 135-112 home defeat to Houston. The Wizards shot 46% with 38% from three. Corey Kispert scored 23 points with four rebounds. Jonas Valanciunas had 18 points with four rebounds off the bench. Washington allowed 52% shooting to the Rockets with 39% from three. The Washington Wizards are getting (marginally) better. The Wizards have won 4 of their last 11 games and played their most complete game in a recent 125-107 win over the Chicago Bulls. With their strength of schedule set to ease up the rest of the way, several Wizards fans have been asking if there's a chance of the Wizards playing themselves out of a Top 5 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Greg Finberg joined this week's Bleav in Wizards podcast to fully react to that question. We also discussed the improved play of Jordan Poole and Alex Sarr, the trade value of Jonas Valanciunas and Kyle Kuzma, and provided our once per-year update on former Wizards draft pick Yannick Nzosa. Recently, he spoke to the media about potentially joining the Knicks and being traded. THIS IS INSANE. I know we are in trade season but some targets shouldn't be linked to the Knicks and DeAndre Ayton is one of them. But thankfully, Ayton and his contract doesn't fit with New York. However, another target constantly linked to NY is Jonas Valanciunas and he is the MOST LIKELY trade the Knicks will make if they decide a move is needed... Troy Mahabir breaks all of this down! Unfortunately, the Wizards' youngsters were not so impressive, which is not what fans want to see as the team takes a 14th straight loss. Plus, some chatter about the top 4 draft prospects.
