A simple mismatch of love languages in childhood can follow us for decades — shaping who we believe we are, how we show up in relationships, and even how hard we push ourselves to "belong." This week, I'm sharing a client story that perfectly illustrates how an early emotional misunderstanding can turn into a lifelong identity filter… and how quickly things shift when we address the actual root. In this episode, I break down what really happens when a child receives love in a way that doesn't match how they personally recognize love. Before we have language or context for the world, our subconscious is already deciding what things mean — and sometimes it decides, "I don't belong," "I'm not important," or "I have to work harder for love." These beliefs don't always come from trauma. Sometimes it's just… a simple mismatch. I walk you through common issue with a client who carried a "not belonging" feeling since early childhood. No trauma. No big event. Just years of feeling unseen because the love they needed didn't match the love they received. And when we followed the emotional resonance back to the very first moment that feeling formed, it shifted in a single session. This is the power of knowing what to look for — and why hypnotists don't need psychology degrees or complicated therapeutic techniques to facilitate deep identity-level change. When you understand emotional development, presence, and process, the subconscious will show you everything you need. In this episode, you'll hear: How childhood misunderstandings turn into adult identity patterns Why love language mismatches create people-pleasing, perfectionism, and self-doubt Why decades of therapy may not touch a belief that formed before language How emotional resonance reveals the exact moment a belief began Why some transformations happen faster than you'd ever expect What this means for you if you're exploring hypnosis for yourself — or training to use it with clients If you're curious about how simple shifts can transform someone's internal world, this episode will give you a powerful behind-the-scenes look at what really creates change.

Most conversations in startups begin at zero: what's the idea, who's the customer, how big is the market. But the stage before that, when you know you're ready to be a founder yet the direction is still completely undefined. That strange, uncomfortable, high-potential zone Aditya Agarwal calls “minus one.”In this episode, Aditya and Prateek Mehta breaks down what happens in this “figuring out” stage. The questions people avoid, the habits that matter, and why some of the best companies begin long before their founders have any conviction. We get into how this stage is evolving in the AI era. Exploration cycles are faster, technical founders can test more directions than ever, and the gap between “I'm experimenting” and “I'm running a real company” has narrowed. India's builder ecosystem is shifting too: more second-time founders, more people with real outcomes behind them, and far more comfort sitting with ambiguity.Aditya shares his own minus-one moment after Facebook, his startup acquisition, Dropbox's IPO, and Flipkart, and why that transitional period changed the way he thinks about early-stage startups. Prateek brings on-the-ground view from Bangalore, where ambition, technical depth, and the appetite to explore hard problems from robotics to voice models to AI infra are rising. This episode is for anyone who feels they're between missions. What is going on with health insurance claims? According to recent data from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), the volume of claims filed rose 21.8% in the financial year 2025, but the total amount settled by insurers increased by only 12.88 %. This stark mismatch has spilled over social media – where stories of claims going unsettled, settled for lower amounts of being endlessly delayed, are rife. Adding to this issue is the steep rise in health insurance premiums. Earlier this year, the IRDAI, had directed that premiums for senior citizens not be revised by over 10% a year – this came after senior citizen premiums were going up by 50 or 60% in many cases. Why is there a growing mismatch between claims filed and settled? How much of an effect does the rising cost of medical services play in this? Do both the insurance sector and private hospitals need better, more stringent regulation? Laurence Endersen is an investment professional with over 30 years of experience and author of three books, including The Compounder's Element, who champions patient wealth building through understanding one's natural investing temperament and staying disciplined within it.Episode Sponsor: Fiscal AI is a modern data terminal—use my link for a two-week free trial plus 15% off: https://fiscal.ai/talkingbillions/EPISODE NOTES3:00 - Laurence shares formative experiences: working in his father's TV repair shop taught him the real difficulty of earning money, while losing his mother at 13 accelerated his maturity and independence. His father's entrepreneurial spirit and inventor grandfather sparked curiosity about how money works beyond academic theory.8:00 - Introduction to markets came through Australian state privatizations in Sydney—experiencing “day one pops” felt like magic compared to traditional work, though he admits being “curious and clueless” initially. The addiction to stock market gains revealed the difference between “power by the hour” versus “share of value” business models.13:00 - Evolution of investing philosophy: “Most of my learning has been in the last five years of those 30.” Key revelation: understanding what game you're actually playing matters more than technical prowess. Patient compounding over long horizons (the “n” in the formula) reduces pressure on achieving exceptional returns.22:00 - The “elements” framework: investors have natural temperaments—Lar identifies as a “Compounder” focused on long-term wealth building. Mismatch between element and strategy causes problems. “If you're always improving, your best days are always ahead.”38:00 - On competitive advantages: companies with pricing power, network effects, and multi-decade runways compound extraordinary value. “The delta between a good business and a great business is seismic over time.”52:00 - AI's impact on investing: tools democratize analysis but won't eliminate competitive advantages. “With these tools you're more likely to go up to the third or fourth question—but so will everybody else.” The real edge remains knowing when you have enough information to act.68:00 - Definition of success from Stephen Covey: “Live, love, learn, and leave a legacy.” Acknowledges having “a billion heartbeats” behind him with an “indeterminable number” ahead—emphasizes time as ultimate constraint.Podcast Program – Disclosure StatementBlue Infinitas Capital, LLC is a registered investment adviser and the opinions expressed by the Firm's employees and podcast guests on this show are their own and do not reflect the opinions of Blue Infinitas Capital, LLC. The New York Giants just can't get out of their own way. In Mike Kafka's first game as interim head coach, Big Blue blew an early lead and fell 27–20 to the Packers at MetLife, dropping to 2–9 on the season and extending their losing streak to five games. On this episode of Locked Up Sports, Bob and Brett break down everything from Jameis Winston's up-and-down performance in relief of Jaxson Dart, to a defense that once again melted in the fourth quarter, to a run game that flashed with Tyrone Tracy Jr. but couldn't carry them all the way. Then we turn the page to Week 12 in Detroit, where the Giants are more than 10-point underdogs against Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown and a 6–4 Lions team looking to bounce back after a frustrating 16–9 loss in Philly. We'll hit the betting line, matchups, injury updates on Dart's concussion status, and what a realistic “path to an upset” looks like — if there even is one — as the Giants look to snap an 11-game road losing streak.

In this solo episode, Dan Englander breaks down a truth most agency owners quietly suspect: the majority of sales and marketing advice out there was never written for firms like yours. Most “agency growth” tactics are built for high-volume, productized services with large addressable markets—not for boutique, complex-service agencies selling trust, nuance, and strategy to a few hundred ideal clients.Dan calls this dynamic “The Great Mismatch.”He unpacks why the standard playbooks fail, what constraints actually define upmarket agencies, and how to replace random referrals with a systematic, high-trust growth engine. In this episode • The Great Mismatch: How agency sales advice got optimized for SaaS and high-volume lead-gen firms, not for complex, relationship-driven work. • The Three Constraints Framework: Why your resources, offer, and market size determine your best-fit growth strategy. • The Trust Recession: Why decision-makers are slower to move, and how to build credibility in smaller, skeptical markets. • High School Gym vs. NFL Stadium: How to visualize your true total addressable market and stop over-optimizing for scale. • The Two-Pronged Framework: How to balance direct outreach with systematic referrals and partnerships. • The Referral Engine Playbook: Step-by-step—identifying “Referral-Ready Connectors,” mapping your market in LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and running collaborative intro calls that produce real pipeline. • Partnerships Without the Awkwardness: Why commission-based partner pitches don't work and how to build trust-first collaboration loops.Key Idea “Most of what's being sold as ‘agency growth' advice assumes you have a sales team, a simple offer, and a massive market. But if your service is complex, your team is lean, and your clients are few, you need a different operating system entirely.” — Dan EnglanderResources Mentioned Relationship Sales at Scale → salesschema.com/book Referral Network Diagnostic Workshop → salesschema.com/diagnosticTakeaway For boutique agencies, growth doesn't come from chasing more leads—it comes from getting more leverage out of the relationships you already have. The sooner you recognize The Great Mismatch, the sooner you can build a system that actually fits your market, your team, and your offer.

Laurent and Gerard have an explosive conversation with Bryan Long, Executive Director in JPMorgan's Commodities Group. They explore why U.S. energy market signals are failing to support new capacity investments, despite soaring demand (especially from datacenters). Key issues include misaligned pricing, liquidity constraints, and hedging challenges, all of which deter long-term private capital.Key Takeaways: Current price signals don't support investment in new generation, even as large load growth (e.g., datacenters) is accelerating. Market structures must evolve to better reflect long-term price signals and attract private capital. Supply-side issues: New natural gas peakers and battery storage (BESS) face fragmented development, rising CAPEX, procurement delays, and tariff risks. Industry response: Major consolidation in the IPP space—private equity-backed assets are being acquired by integrated players seeking scale for hyperscaler deals.Possible solutions may include Repricing of forward curves, Government-backed long-term contracts, Regulatory reforms, Technological advancements Bottom line: Something must shift—be it policy, pricing, or tech—to align investment incentives with future demand growth. The next several years should be great for traders in the middle of the action. Conclusion: Between the Large Load Growth and the Investment Capital, who will blink first? ------------ Bryan Long is an Executive Director in JPMorgan's Commodities Group, focused on wholesale power & renewable energy transactions. With 20yrs+ experience across various U.S. Power trading, origination and management roles, he has deep understandings of electricity market structures.
Cutting Off the CCP: Deterrence Through Nuclear Proliferation and Total Economic Isolation. Jim Fanell and Brad Thayer discuss critical, urgent actions required to counter the PRC's strategic forces threat. Given the severe strategic mismatch, Fanell argues that warfighting proliferation must be considered, suggesting nuclear capabilities and proliferation in Seoul, Tokyo, and even Taiwan to change the calculus in Beijing and Washington. Thayer emphasizes that the current downturn in the PRC's economy presents an opportunity to accelerate Xi Jinping's fall, recommending a political warfare strategy focused on evicting Xi Jinping and the CCP from power. Fanell clarifies they are not recommending armed conflict, but rather a strategy of power politics and isolating the PRC, treating the CCP as an evil, pariah regime by denying them access to US money, stripping them of Most Favored Nation status, and removing them from the World Trade Organization. The most important recommendation is the necessity for US leadership to admit failure as the critical first step to repairing damage to US authority and its allies.

THE Presentations Japan Series by Dale Carnegie Training Tokyo, Japan
Before you build slides, build a picture of the people in the seats. If you don't know who's in the room, you're guessing—and guesswork kills relevance. This practical, answer-centric guide shows how to identify audience composition (knowledge, expertise, experience), surface needs and biases, and adjust both your content and delivery—before and during your talk. It's tuned for post-pandemic business norms in Japan and across APAC, with comparisons to the US and Europe, and it's written for executives, sales leaders, and professionals who present weekly. How do I discover who will actually be in the room—before I present? Ask organisers for attendee profiles, then verify at the venue by greeting people and scanning badges/cards. In Japan, meishi exchange makes it easy to capture titles, seniority, and company context; in the US/EU, check lanyards and pre-event apps. Arrive early: name badges are often laid out, giving you company mix and industry spread. Chat with early arrivals to learn why they came—training need, benchmarking curiosity, or vendor evaluation—and note patterns by sector (SME vs. multinational), role (IC vs. executive), and region (Tokyo vs. Kansai vs. remote APAC). Use this recon to sharpen examples and adjust your opening. Do now: Arrive 30–40 minutes early; greet at the door; log role, industry, and motivation on a notecard; tweak the first three minutes accordingly. What levels of knowledge, expertise, and experience should I design for? Assume a mixed room with a few veterans—design for breadth, then layer optional depth. Split your content into “must-know” principles (for novices) and “drill-down” modules (for experts). In technical audiences (e.g., pharma R&D), lab-theory experience differs sharply from front-line sales or operations in manufacturing or retail; in 2025 hybrid teams, you'll often have both. Provide clear signposts: “advanced aside,” “field example,” “Japan vs. US comparison.” For multinationals (Toyota, Rakuten, Hitachi) you can cite regional rollouts; for startups/SMEs, emphasise low-cost experiments and time-to-impact. Do now: Build slides with optional “depth” appendices; announce when you're switching gears so novices aren't lost and pros aren't bored. How do I surface biases, needs, and wants fast—without a formal survey? Work the room: short pre-talk chats expose objections, hopes, and hot buttons. Ask, “What brought you today?” and “What would make this 60 minutes valuable?” Capture signals such as scepticism (“We tried this in 2023; didn't stick”), urgency (“Quarter-end target”), or constraints (compliance, budget cycle, labour rules). For Japan's consensus-driven cultures, anticipate risk-aversion; in US startups, expect speed bias. Use these inputs to tune case studies and pre-empt tough questions. In Q&A, address stated and unstated needs—what they need to do next week, not just theory. Do now: Before you start, collect 3 needs, 3 wants, and 3 worries; weave them into your transitions and your close. How do I tailor on the fly if my planned angle misses the mark? Pivot examples, not your entire structure: keep the skeleton, swap the meat. If your personal-branding case assumes FAANG-scale resources but the room is mostly SMEs, replace big-company stories with compact, scrappy plays (part-time champions, Canva-level assets, LinkedIn cadence). Call the audible: “Given today's mix, I'll show the SME path first; enterprise folks, I've got a parallel track in the appendix.” The credibility boost is immediate. Avoid the “corporate propaganda” trap—audiences in 2025 are ruthless about relevance and authenticity. Do now: Prepare two versions of each example (enterprise vs. SME; Japan vs. US) and a one-line “pivot declaration” you can say aloud to reset expectations. What causes audiences to tune out in 2025—and how do I prevent it? Mismatch of complexity, thin takeaways, and slide-centric delivery send people to their phones. Overly high-level ideas with no “Monday morning” actions feel like fluff; hyper-jargon without scaffolding feels exclusionary. Hybrid fatigue persists post-pandemic—attention spans are shorter, and AI tools raise the bar for specificity (“Show me the checklist, not the vibe”). Combat this with concrete metrics, timelines, and contrasts (Japan vs. US adoption curves; consumer vs. B2B sales cycles). Keep slides lean; make listening valuable by telling the room why their world changes if they act. Do now: Promise three actionable takeaways in minute one—and deliver a one-page recap at the end. What is the prep workflow that consistently works? Plan the talk, not just the deck: rehearse, record, and review before you're live. Use a phone to record a full run-through; check pace, jargon, and clarity. Replace “nice to know” slides with one story per insight; trim to time. Build a closing action list (for leaders, sales, and ops). As of 2025, layer AI-retrieval signals into your outline—clear headings phrased like search queries (“How do I…?”, “What's the best way to…?”) and time markers (“in 2025,” “post-pandemic Japan”). This makes your messages more discoverable in internal portals and external search. Do now: Final checklist—headlines as questions, bold first sentence answers, optional deep-dives, two alternate examples, 60-second closing actions. Conclusion Knowing your audience is the difference between a speech that lands and one that launders time. Build intelligence before the first slide, validate it on the door, and keep tuning as you go. Rehearse, record, and review. Then close with a clear, useful action list leaders can execute this week.
