With the Lakers hearing the devastating news of the injuries to Luka Doncic, keeping him out at least a week, the team spent their first game on the road against the Sacramento Kings, knowing they were without their two top players. And even with the depleted corps, the Lakers, who were out there, came together as Austin Reaves carried the team with a career-making performance (51 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists) and was backed up by Deandre Ayton's best game as a Laker (22 points, 15 rebounds), the Lakers pulled away late for a 127-120 victory. Check in as the LFB has something to say about how the Lakers played in the absence of Luka and LeBron, Austin's career-high game, Ayton's coming-out party, and what the bumpy road looks like ahead for the team over the next few days. The Lakers, without Luka and LeBron, head to SacTown, but we're not injured as we give you our analysis on the Lakers Fast Break podcast! The Lakers are back in action as they face off against the Kings in the first of a back-to-back in Sacramento. And despite shooting 40% from the field, the Lakers found their true strengths in getting to the line (25-30) and playing a newly found tough defense (outrebounding the Kings 53-43 and forcing 15 turnovers) that got the Lakers ahead early and were the reasons for a strong fourth quarter as LA pulled away from Sac Town 113-100. Tune in as the guys share thoughts on the game, the Lakers early domination, and what happened the rest of the game. The Knicks coming off a 3 game losing streak came out the gate struggling. The talent, speed and pace of the Kings overwhelmed the Knicks in the first half. Slowing Brunson down with double teams and traps, the Knicks needed to find other sources for scoring and so they did. Josh Hart finished with 31 pts 8 asts and 9 rebs, Divencenzo tallied 21 pts and Brunson ultimately was able to dissect the defense with 35 pts and 11 asts. After hearing news of Julius Randle being out for the season its seemed as if there was an impending doom to this team, as if things were on there way downhill but this team will not be beat without a fighting chance and they proved it with this game. After being down most of the game the Knicks beat the Kings the way they knew how, tough defense leading to offense and being physical with the opposing team. CP The Fanchise and Alex Trataros take over this post game to discuss the win, the Julius Randle situation, Knicks playoff positioning and much more! Get 20% off plus free shipping at Manscaped. Step into the world of print passion and perseverance with Rob Turner, Sactown Magazine's co-founder and publisher, as he recounts the enthralling saga of bringing a city magazine to life amidst the digital revolution. From an unexpected car accident catapulting his career to an ambitious return to his roots in Sacramento, Rob's story is one of unwavering vision, entrepreneurial spirit and a love for his home town. Our conversation charts his path from a UC Davis alum to a magazine owner, alongside his wife and business partner, Elyssa Lee. We explore the challenges of starting a print publication when the world is going digital, revealing the relentless drive that have defined Rob's personal and professional journey. We discuss the gritty reality of launching Sactown Magazine on the cusp of the Great Recession. It's a tale of initial triumphs quickly tempered by economic turmoil, yet marked by a resilience that saw the magazine emerge stronger and more connected to the Sacramento community than ever before. The story isn't just about surviving; it's about thriving against the odds, adapting content to stay relevant, and harnessing the power of local, quality storytelling to captivate and engage a city on the rise. Rob shares the tactical shifts in editorial direction and the serendipitous growth spurred by a competing publication's end. This chapter of Sactown's chronicle is a testament to adaptability, strategic opportunity, and the enduring allure of a magazine deeply committed to its city's narrative. This is an episode that celebrates the resilience of local journalism and the unique charm of city magazines in fostering community pride.

On today's episode I compare this era of Kings basketball with what happened in the late 90's and the turn of the century. Last season very few people expected the Kings to be a playoff team and yet they finished 3rd in the West. In 1998-99 the Kings made the playoffs in an abbreviated 50 game season as a 7th seed. Not many thought the Kings would make the postseason that year, but it ended up being the start of a long run of success. I see many similarities between this Kings team and the ones from the "glory" years more than 20 seasons ago. The question is will this era of Kings basketball led by DeAaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis be able to go further than the teams with Bibby, Webber, Vlade, Peja and company? Only time will tell, but something special appears to be brewing in Sactown! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
On today's episode I reflect on being back in Sacramento and the amazing people I continue to run into every day. I ran into a fan at a gas station, and we talked about the early years of the Kings in Sactown. I share what it was like back in the 80's and my memories of travelling with the Kings. Back then the Kings flew on commercial flights, and it made for some interesting stories. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
NBA training camps open soon and on today's episode I talk about the anticipation for this year's team. It reminds me of more than 20 years ago when the Kings became the darlings of the NBA. I play my radio call from a playoff game vs the Mavs in 2002. To this day it is one of my favorite Kings games of all time. I then go over the other teams in the Western Conference. I compare some of the teams to the Kings. Bottom line other than Denver I think Sactown is as good as any team in the West! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
