The Fire have played three games since our last show: an entertaining draw vs Messi and friends, a sloppy and crazy 3-2 loss to Cincinnati, and an humiliating blowout at the hands of Gregg Berhalter's former assistant B.J. Callaghan and Nashville SC. What's gone wrong, what's not working, and what can we conclude after 10 games? Then, the Chicago grassroots soccer community, Edgewater Castle FC President and General Manager Andrew Swanson joins the show to talk about the team's new podcast ‘Stone By Stone,' promotion and relegation and the state of the lower-division landscape. At this point, watching the Chicago Fire feels like some sort of punishment. After being obliterated by Messi-less Miami in front of 55,000 spectators and Jason Derulo, a change of venue didn't help as they lost to DC United in Bridgeview. Alex Campbell and Joe Chatz of OnTap Sports want to talk about those games as little as possible, so they take listener questions! Is there any hope for this team? Who deserves to be kept around? How long would a proper rebuild take? We try to provide some answers and optimism on the CHGO Fire Podcast.

Hey, soccer fans! The Chicago Fire are back home and the USMNT are defending the Gold Cup - it's a great weekend for soccer in Second City. Your Men in Red welcome Nashville SC to Soldier Field and look to steal three points from the 2nd best team in the Eastern Conference. Though down a couple starters to international duty, you can bet that Hany Mukhtar and Dax McCarty are going to be on their game looking to counter-attack the Fire. Tune in to hear how Nashville stacks up against Chicago, and how the Fire can find a way to win. Also, there's drama in the Fire locker room as striker Kacper Przybylko posts on social media about going to a place where he is valued. Where there's smoke, there's fire...and the Fire locker room may soon be ablaze. In the 2nd half, our host Nick looks at notable matches from around the league and around the country. When not watching the Fire, his eyes will be on Atlanta vs. Montreal, LAFC vs. San Jose, and Vancouver vs. Seattle....and the USMNT! The Gold Cup Quarterfinals kick-off July 8 and 9, and Nick's picking the USA to repeat as champions. Hear his other picks leading up to the final by listening to every minute of our latest episode of Feed the Fire.Let us know what you think about the state of the Fire and the USMNT in the comments below. Hey, Fire fans! The Men in Red put on another joke of a performance at Charlotte FC during their midweek match. Despite the first half goal from Kacper Przybylko (who nearly turned a breakway into a blunder), the Chicago Fire allowed the opposition two late goals. The club from the Queen City saw Brandon Cambridge announce himself to MLS with a two goal performance. The Fire again showed their mental weakness, their tactical incompetence, and poor defending. In the show's second half, our host looks at the salaries of the Chicago Fire, as recently released by the MLS Players Association (MLSPA). It's not surprising that Shaqiri is vastly underperforming his contract, but the numbers paint a bigger picture of incompetent spending and clueless roster building. Nick compares the Fire roster salaries to LAFC - a team known for constructing solid rosters year over year - and poses the question: What if we took $4 million from Shaqiri's contract and spent it on better players on the bottom half of the roster? Let's Go, Sky! Next, DJ Benny The Bull and CJ Hawk could not stop screaming, dancing, and flopping after the Chicago Fire's exceptional performance versus Charlotte. Then, finally, the Fire came to play, beating the newest club in The MLS 3-2. Kacper Przybylko scored two in this match, extending our unbeaten streak to five games. Vamos Fire!!!! To conclude this week's episode, we broke down the Chicago Red Stars match versus Gotham FC. Our hosts attended this match in person and had a great time seeing our beloved squad beat Batman's and new owner Eli Mannings's squad 2-0. CJ Hawk was especially thrilled to see one of his favorite soccer players Kristie Mewis play in person though she did not have an excellent game. After the match, we got to meet and get autographs from some of our favorite players. We met Tatum Milazzo, Alyssa Naeher, Yuki Nagasato, and Sarah Luebbert. So, Red Stars, let's keep on rolling!!! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/ben9314/message

Then they talk about all the news from the last week. They go over the Chinonso Offor deal, and Ruben explains why it was good, even if at first glance it looks like they got hosed in the deal.
