Welcome in for another edition of the Morning Espresso from the SDH Network, brought to you by Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's premier undergraduate learning experience and soccer powerhouse.Atlanta United scored first, but lost control of the match with Nashville afterwards. Following the goal, Nashville outshot Atlanta 10-2 and had 70% possession. They eventually found an equalizer and the match finished in an unfulfilling 1-1 draw. Atlanta is back in action next Saturday in Chicago against the Fire, who will be missing their goalkeeper Chris Brady following his red card in the first half of the Fire's 0-0 draw with Orlando.LA Galaxy lost last night in Kansas City 1-0 even though they didn't concede a shot, the goal was an own goal in the 13th minute. The Galaxy also lost both of their star wingers, Joseph Paintsil and Gabriel Pec, due to injury. Other MLS highlights of note include Vancouver going unbeaten in 10 games after a 2-1 win over RSL, Miami bouncing back from two home losses with a win over Red Bulls, and New England keeping their hot streak going since putting Carles Gil into a free role in their 3-5-2 shape.Parity is alive and well in the NWSL as the top 8 teams are separated by 4 points. Kansas City and Orlando are tied for the top spot with 15 points so far in the season.A verdict is expected tomorrow by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in the Club Leon case against FIFA over their spot in the Club World Cup. If FIFA's ruling is upheld, then we'll see the playoff game between LAFC and Club America go ahead. The winner of that would start the tournament here in Atlanta against Chelsea on June 16. Harry Kane has finally won a trophy after almost 700 games as a pro for club and country. Of course it wasn't straightforward... Bayern drew to RB Leipzig 3-3 on a late goal from the opposition and needed Leverkusen to slip up in their game later in the day, which ended 2-2 giving Bayern the title. Two big promotions, Pisa in Italy and Paris FC in France. Pisa hasn't been in Serie A since 1991 while Paris FC hasn't played in Ligue 1 for 46 years. Nothing beats Burnley's celebrations for getting back to the Premier League, they had Natasha Bedingfield on hand to sing the unofficial promotion anthem for them "Unwritten". She sang it for the fans at Turf Moor and the squad sang it with her in the locker room.Playoffs are set in Mexico and Argentina, they'll start next weekend. Champions League in Europe returns this week with Barcelona and Inter hopeful on injury returns while PSG and Arsenal try to shake off league losses over the weekend.More Espresso Tuesday on the SDH Network, presented by Oglethorpe University.

Two Sporting KC Rumors and Vermes Says it's Pulskamp's Job

For the Glory KC

For the Glory KC is back with the 116th episode of the show!  Sporting Kansas City have not one, but two rumored signings coming to town. While it's two rumored players, they are both from the same team. The first one we learned about early last week appears to be the Designated Player #10 the team has been saying they are chasing. That's Manu Garcia (learn more about Manu here). The second rumor is for right-winger Magomed-Shapi Suleymanov (more on Shapi here). Both players play for Aris in the Greek first division. The rumored combined fee, according to GiveMeSport's Tom Bogert comes in around €5 million. We get into the details and stats for each player and try to decide if these feel like good signings. One notch in favor of Garcia, despite his lower numbers are those of another Spanish midfielder Mike Burns brought to MLS. Look at the stats both before and after arriving in MLS: La Liga: 74 GP, 3 G, 9A, 4,702 min LALiga2: 49 GP, 4G, 1A, 3,044 min Premier League: 28 GP, 2G, 2A, 1,799 min MLS: 157 GP, 39G, 45A, 13,402 minutes and an MLS MVP That player? Carles Gil for the New England Revolution. He joined just a year younger at 26-years-old and went from relatively unimpressive numbers to being one of the best players in the league. There is no saying if Manu Garcia can do that, but Vermes and Burns surely have to hope so. It's worth noting that both Garcia and Suleymanov were held out of Aris' game this weekend. Teams don't do that for no reason, but it's always possible it still falls through. Randomly snuck into the middle of this rumor conversation was a prior rumored signing, Unai Hernandez, who appears headed to Saudi Arabia for big money. We also found a way to work in Dom Dwyer leaving the Oakland Roots. In addition to talking rumors, we have to mention the second straight preseason loss for Sporting KC, this time to Chicago. It's tough to take much from a game we didn't see, but there were some good quotes from Peter Vermes and Erik Thommy. One of those quotes was Vermes confirming he's happy with John Pulskamp as the starting goalkeeper and he has no plans to add a veteran keeper. It'll be an extremely young GK room with Pulskamp (23), Ryan Schewe (22) and Jack Kortkamp (16 now, 17 on the 28th). Is that the right decision? Finally, the KC Current and the entire NWSL have their schedule announced. They open the season (again) against the Portland Thorns, this time on March 15th. They play a perfectly balanced 26 game regular season schedule, 13 games, against all 13 other teams, before a break, then they repeat the task after the CBA summer break. There were some potential road trips combining SKC and Current games on the docket as well. 23 of those 26 games are on National TV (ION, ABC, CBS, CBS Sports Network, ESPN and Prime). At some point talking about the Current the subject of watching games at a bar to avoid buying Amazon Prime came up. One potential spot, is the female-owned The Dub KC. If you heard us talking about them and want to support them, check out their Instagram or website. In the Digital Crawl, we touch on a few more topics, including: SKC II schedule Robert Castellanos update USMNT and USYNT And Neymar! Here is a rundown of topics (and approximate start times): Sporting KC Rumor: DP #10 Manu Garcia - 5:01 2nd Sporting KC rumor for a Winger - 22:28 Another preseason game for SKC, another loss - 32:27 Thommy to forward and no veteran competition for Pulskamp - 38:05 KC Current schedule released - 52:26 Digital Crawl - 1:06:20 Big thanks to Splitter Conspiracy (listen to them here) for our theme music made with the permission of the KC Cauldron.

Luego probaría suerte en el Deportivo antes de marcharse a Estados Unidos. Nacho se formó en Paterna, pisó el primer equipo en 2017, pero la enorme competencia le obligó a probar suerte primero en Las Palmas y en Elche después. Orlando City claimed another big road victory in a difficult place for visitors to get wins, and the Lions did it with only one shot on target all night on Wednesday. Duncan McGuire's strike late in the first half held up and the hosts didn't look particularly threatening after the opening moments of the second half thanks to a cool, calm, and collected Orlando City side that bossed the midfield, thwarted the Nashville attackers, and frustrated the hosts all evening — mostly by keeping the ball and not giving the Tennessee-based club a chance to unleash its lethal counterattack. We break down the match and another big three points against an Eastern Conference contender, presenting our unanimous pick for Man of the Match. Jake Catanese from The Blazing Musket jumped on with us to tell us about the chaos that's been going on in New England in the wake of Bruce Arena's exit as coach of the Revolution. The Revs may be a bit discombobulated since the coaching change, but they still have Carles Gil and you can probably expect Gustavo Bou to play as well. Big thanks to Jake for both his Revolution knowledge and his friendship. Our mailbagbox was jam packed! Then we preview Saturday's game. The Interim Cup or the Omar Gonzalez Derby? Whatever you call it, both teams are a mess. What's going on with the Revs now that Bruce Arena has resigned? An interim to the interim manager, players refusing to train, and still no answers about what Bruce did in the first place. Never mind all the injuries and departures on defense. Carles Gil can singlehandedly will this game still, right? Jamie Rooke joins the show to break down the fallout, what it means for New England, and what more chaos could come. You can catch up on his work for Last Word on Soccer here and here. HTHL has obtained an advanced copy of the C38 open letter to the Rapids front office and ownership, to be released Thursday morning. We've also learned about a walkout protest planned for the 20th minute on Saturday. We skim over the letter, highlight key parts, and discuss how it could be received by those it was directed at. Rapids fans care, do you Josh and Stan Kroenke? Then Matt discusses what he knows about the planned protests for Saturday, what they could look and sound line at scale, and how you can participate if you're so inclined. We disagree with a few of the things said in the open letter. "Mistreatment of press and bloggers" could be referring to the Rapids 2 incident from back in March. We would not use the word "mistreatment" to describe what happened there. You can refresh your memory on that situation here starting at 25:38.

Orlando City experienced its highest point of the season on Wednesday in a 5-1 blowout win over the New York Red Bulls to reach its first-ever U.S. Open Cup final. Unfortunately, the Lions followed that with one of the season's lowest lows, by conceding twice in a four-minute span in stoppage time Sunday to turn three points into none at D.C. United. This 2022 season sure has been a roller coaster ride. Dave Rohe and Michael Citro are here to talk about all the key discussion points from the two matches and, as always, make our selections for Man of the Match. We've also got a new signing to discuss, which adds more depth to the midfield. And we'd like to address that whole bus parking thing that people seem to want to discuss, with some input from Junior Urso's comments after Sunday's game, actually. The Pride were back to their non-losing ways after a week off, grabbing yet another draw in what is now four straight matches without a loss (1-0-3). The players and interim manager Seb Hines haven't given up on this season and that's about as inspirational a story as we've had on the Pride's side of things this season. Kudos to all involved and long may it continue. We give our thoughts on Sunday's 2-2 draw at Kansas City, which despite the loss of a multi-goal lead, was certainly a decent result for Orlando, all things considered. OCB was off this week, and that makes us a little sad because we didn't get to see Jack Lynn score a goal for the Young Lions. He'll get a chance this weekend at Toronto and hopefully he'll net two just to make up for lost time. This week's mailbag asked us about purple smoke, what we thought of PRO's take on the two contoversial calls in the Philadelphia game — which only made us angry all over again — and (for some reason) made us construct a softball team out of Orlando City players. If there's anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the next show, just ask by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. Finally, we gave our key match-ups and predictions for Orlando City's upcoming match this Saturday against the New England Revolution. Carles Gil's name might have come up. Stay safe and enjoy the show! Here's how No. 305 went down: 0:15 - The July grind finally came to an end with vastly different outcomes. The bottom line is that the Lions will play for a trophy in September. 47:00 - The Pride get on the scoresheet twice and bring home a hard-fought point against one of the league's hottest teams. 58:06 - Our mailbagbox and our predictions for the Lions against the Revolution. The MLS Team of the week consists of 11 starters, 1 coach, and 7 bench players (similar to an honorable mention, not necessarily players who didn't start.) Ben Bender was recognized as a Bench player in the MLS Team of the Week in Week 3 following his play against Atlanta United. The Charlotte FC defense did a fantastic job keeping NE Revolution''s Carles Gil at bay with the exception of conceding the penalty kick score. I am interested to see how Miquel Ramirez has the Crownheads defending the MLS leading goal scorer 6'2 Brandon Vázquez and Luciano Acosta the Argentine midfielder who leads the MLS in Key Passes with 17. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/charlotte-fc/message
