Hey, soccer fans! The Chicago Fire made a statement in their draw against Inter Miami CF this weekend. Despite a lack of goals by both clubs, the Men in Red showed the league that they can go toe-to-toe with the best in MLS. Both clubs had opportunities to find the net, and Chicago couldn't find the finishing touch to steal a win late. Hopefully this adds momentum and confidence as the club looks toward a tough stretch of matches. In this episode Nick also examines the reported offer the Chicago Fire have made to Kevin De Bruyne, previews the Fire's next match against FC Cincinnati, and discusses Chris Brady's development. At this point, watching the Chicago Fire feels like some sort of punishment. After being obliterated by Messi-less Miami in front of 55,000 spectators and Jason Derulo, a change of venue didn't help as they lost to DC United in Bridgeview. Alex Campbell and Joe Chatz of OnTap Sports want to talk about those games as little as possible, so they take listener questions! Is there any hope for this team? Who deserves to be kept around? How long would a proper rebuild take? We try to provide some answers and optimism on the CHGO Fire Podcast.
It's the second part of our online tasting with Paul Holgate and Chris Brady from legendary Australian brewery Holgate! Oh, and they tell us all about their 125 year old Coolroom!
Alan is joined by DJ and Tim to discuss a stunning away win against the Supporters' Shield leaders (at the time). First, the Fire have named their new training center. Just weeks after it felt hope had been restored, the Chicago Fire continue to barely flicker. Three losses in their last four, including an embarrassing loss to league-worst San Jose and only slightly helped by a crazy 4-3 win over Philadelphia have the Fire once again looking like one of MLS' worst teams. Alex is joined by Joe Chatz to break down the games and explain what's going on at Soldier Field. Meanwhile, Chris Brady is not going to France and nobody knows where Xherdan Shaqiri is going. Episode 67: Leaders Start with Why Questions to Ponder: Have you ever been asked to do something by a leader and not fully understood why? Have you, as a leader, ever asked your team to do something without explaining the task's true purpose? 1. Leaders Start with "Why" BOOK: Start with Why, by Simon Sinek Knowing the vision and direction as a leader is paramount. BOOK: Leadership Lessons from the Age of Fighting Sail, by Chris Brady Leaders who possesses a clear and unwavering belief in their vision become a beacon of inspiration for their team. You need to know where you are headed and why it matters. This fosters a sense of authenticity and credibility that is inherently persuasive. Team members are naturally drawn to leaders who can articulate What How Why BOOK: StrengthsFinder 2.0, Gallup and Tom Rath A leader's ability to get others to believe in and follow her isn't solely dependent on the vision itself, but also on their ability to effectively communicate and share it. A leader must convey the "why" in a way that resonates with her team.listening, understanding, and empathizing A leader's consistent actions, integrity, and accountability play a pivotal role in earning and maintaining the trust and respect of their team. 2. Leaders Pinpoint Essentials Effective leadership involves several crucial elements. resilience in the face of failure. “Major on the majors and minor on the minors.” Focus on the big picture. Transparent communication is key. QUESTION: Are you a communicative person, whether it is with your family at home or with those at work? QUESTION: What is it that I can do, that nobody else can do all the time? Your people want to do what they are good at. Get out of their way and let them do it. Leaders Empower with Purpose Empower through a clear sense of purpose. By explaining the "why" behind actions and decisions, leaders encourage their teams to take ownership of their responsibilities. Work during the day to make a living. Work during the night to make a life. If you are not happy where you work, work hard enough to earn your way out. MO's Final Thoughts If you want people to follow you, you need to know why you are doing what you are doing. You need to give your people the reason to follow you. Don't ever be upset if someone isn't following you. There are no bad teams, only bad leaders. You need to be willing to put the work in. People want to follow someone who is passionate and knows what they are doing. Get out there, work hard enough and find your why. Live in the why! With the return of three starters from international duty, Orlando City will have a rejuvenated and deeper lineup. Fortunately, goalkeeper Chris Brady has proven to be a great shot stopper. In the second half of the show, Nick looks at some of the transfers from around Major League Soccer. This summer transfer window has teams very active, whether adding depth for a playoff run or re-arranging their rosters for the future. Hey, Fire fans! The Chicago Fire are coming off a mid-week match at BMO Field, and unfortunately are coming off another draw. While a draw at Eastern Conference power New England may have felt like progress, the draw against Toronto FC certainly felt like a loss. The Fire changed up their formation, moved players around (Koutsias to the wing? Never again!) and would have ended up with a much worse result if not for the likes of goalkeepers Chris Brady and Spencer Richey. It looked like the Fire were playing for a draw in the second half and already thinking about their next US Open Cup match. But they can't overlook FC Cincinnati! The Men in Red travel to the Queen City (yes, another city with that nickname) to take on the top team in Major League Soccer right now. I don't think Brandon Vazquez will miss like he did in the first meeting between these squads, and Lucho Acosta certainly won't be a late sub for the orange and blue. This could be an ugly game for the Fire, who will have to rely on turnovers and quick counter-attacks if they are to have any chance at a result. Twitter - Facebook - Spotify - YouTube

Hey, Fire fans! The Fire are unbeaten in four matches, have moved up to 6th in the Eastern Conference standings, and are trending higher. Their latest result - a 2-1 victory over Minnesota United - was the Fire's best match of the season. The attacked cohesively, maintained control of the game, and made the tactical and formational adjustments to preserve the victory. In this episode, Nick recaps the goals, the coaching moves, and statistics of the Men in Red's latest performance. He also looks at young goalkeeper Chris Brady's performance. Despite the howler, he came up with a number of good saves, and has the right mentality to excel in the future. Brian Gutierrez also continues his performance as the engine driving the Fire's offense, and the attention he receives from opposing defenses is opening up lanes for wingers Haile-Selassie and Mueller, and wing-backs Souquet and Navarro. DDR - or Data Driven Recruitment, what is this, why do we need it and how do we get there? I don't think any one topic has achieved wide spread consensus as quickly as being 'data driven'. What does this really mean and why is it better than the other thing? How are recruiting teams which operate in a data driven way, different from those that do not? You will learn - Difference between Data Driven / not Data Driven (pst - it's a sliding scale) - Data maturity model - how to analyse the state of TA function in relation to DDR - Where is data most important in the recruitment process? - How do we collect this data / manage this data? - How does data translate into insight into decision making? - What is the ultimate goal of DDR? All this and more..... With w/ Christine Ng, Head of Talent & Media (Quantum Motion), Andrew Gadomski, Managing Director (Aspen Analytics), Chris Brady, NA Talent Acquisition Leader (Sage) & Mary Kay Baldino, Head of Talent Acquisition at R1 RCM

Anonymity in a time where any and every move is monitored, tracked, and logged is certainly something to grab a hold of and hang of for all that it is worth. Now, even more than ever when we are seeing governments overreaching their proverbial hand in more ways than one, any way to “hide” is critical. One such way is the rapidly growing world of crypto currencies. More or less having a genesis in approximately 2009, crypto has become an almost fully normalized method of buying and selling, and the governments are not happy. Crypto is unregulated, hard to trace…and well…can be absolutely confusing. Block chain, mining, digital wallets, and so on. Well, this week on The Malliard Report, Jim welcomes Chris Brady to the show to help clear up some of that confusion. “Chris Brady is a New York Times best-selling author, speaker, humorist, and businessman. His books include Launching a Leadership Revolution (co-authored with Orrin Woodward), PAiLS, Rascal, A Month of Italy, and several other titles on leadership and success. Chris is the CEO and Creative Director of The Life Platform. He is also the executive publisher of Obstacles Press, and one of the Founders of All Grace Outreach, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Chris is also serving on the board of Wisdom International, a radio ministry committed to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world. Chris is listed on the Inc. Magazine Top 50 Leadership and Management Experts and is one of the Top 100 Authors to Follow on Twitter. In 2017, Brady was listed Richtopia's Top 200 list of most influential authors in the world. Chris also serves on the board of Wisdom International, a radio ministry committed to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world. Chris and his wife Terri have four adult children and one grandchild and live in North Carolina.” While we all wish we could have nabbed a Bitcoin or two back in the day, we can only long for “way back when” for so long. Instead, head over to Chris' website where you are able to watch some of his seminars, order his books, or just reach out to him personally. Wanting to jump deeper into the duck pond?
