Moving ahead in our series to Pearl Jam's highly regarded 1995 tour covering the first of two nights from Milwaukee's Summerfest. This year saw many changes for the band including a new drummer with Jack Irons, no Ticketmaster venues played or corporate sponsorships promoted and a change within their sound to fit what they were evolving into. This Milwaukee show comes at a time that was pretty controversial - it was the first show in two weeks since Ed was stricken with food poisoning at their Polo Fields show in San Francisco. The incident was seen as a turning point for the band that was dealing with their own internal struggles. It was either get on the same page as a team, or come to terms with the reality of a possible break up. This show allows us to dig into some topics about what the band's future looked like and how they were about to overcome the challenges laid ahead for them. Three days after would be the famed Soldier Field show, so the turnaround in order to get on the same page happens quick. This show will deal with a little bit of ring rust, but after a speech where Ed addresses media spreading rumors about him and the band, the show is kicked into the gear that we love from 1995 performances. Not For You, Alive and Blood are the headlining moments, but the show stealer comes from a duo named Lightning And Thunder well known throughout the upper midwest for covering Neil Diamond songs. With the movie Song Sung Blue having recently come out featuring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson that chronicles their journey, a big part of it included this moment where they sang Forever In Blue Jeans with Ed in front of a crowd of 30,000. We'll also dig into Ed's vocals at the time and how mentors of his encouraged him to limit his screaming in order to preserve longevity. We discuss whether it would've been wise to take advice from either Neil Young or Roger Daltrey, and perhaps share a baseball analogy along with it. As a matter of fact, there are many baseball analogies featured in this episode! The 1988 divisional playoff game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears, started on a clear day. As the second quarter came to a close, a dense fog rolled into Soldier Field in Chicago, reducing visibility to about 15–20 yards. The game would go down in history as "The Fog Bowl." Welcome to Part 2 of the second annual Seeing Them Live Year End Concert Review show, where a panel of returning guests share their favorite live music experiences from 2025. Host Charles brings together an eclectic group of music enthusiasts including Andy, Jessica, Steve, and superfan Dawn Fontaine to discuss the most memorable live music experiences of 2025.Dawn shares highlights from her incredible 55-show year, including intimate performances by New York punk bands The Lousekateers and Typhoid Rosie at JJ's Tavern in Florence, Massachusetts, and her milestone 50th Soraia show at Music Fest in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The conversation takes an extraordinary turn when Dawn recounts her once-in-a-lifetime experience winning a contest in 2002 that put her on the Rolling Stones' private jet, where she met and chatted with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and the late Charlie Watts. The band even played her favorite song, "Can't You Hear Me Knocking," at the Denver show the next night. Dawn also discusses her new role booking shows for Soraia, turning her passion for the band into a dream job that allows her to be part of their team.Steve brings the star power with his account of seeing Lady Gaga at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, which he ranks in his top 10 concerts of all time despite not being a superfan. He describes the show as mind-blowing, with incredible choreography, costume changes, and an intimate piano performance of "Die With a Smile" that transformed the energy of the 18,000-person venue. Steve also highlights seeing St. Vincent at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, praising her guitar skills and stage presence influenced by David Byrne, as well as catching Joan Jett with Alanis Morissette and being amazed at how Joan's voice hasn't changed over the decades. His Vegas weekend also included the Psychedelic Furs at House of Blues and Adele at Caesars Palace, making for an unforgettable concert trip.Andy rounds out the episode with his diverse concert year, starting with the mesmerizing guitar work of Mdou Moctar at The Space and a spontaneous third-row experience seeing Los Lobos and Los Lonely Boys at Hard Rock Gary. His spring break trip to Vegas delivered a surprise highlight when he caught Joe Russo's Almost Dead at Brooklyn Bowl, calling it his surprise concert of the year with their incredible double guitar attack. Andy also shares his Bonnaroo experience, seeing Neil Young perform his new song "Crime in the White House" at Meigs Field (where they unknowingly appeared in the music video), and attending Riot Fest to see Jack White and the Beach Boys with John Stamos. The episode wraps with the group discussing their most anticipated 2026 shows, including Iron Maiden, Radiohead, Guns N' Roses with Public Enemy and Ice Cube, and the long-awaited Rush reunion.BANDS: Adele, Alanis Morissette, Ashley Gavin (comedian), Beach Boys, The, Beaches, The, Billy Idol, Black Crows, The, Buddy Guy, Cocktail Slippers, The, Cure, The, Dead & Company, Dogs in a Pile, Florence and the Machine, Gary Numan, Grunge Worthy, Guns N' Roses, Ice Cube, Idiot Kids, The, Iron Maiden, Jesus and Mary Chain, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Joe Russo's Almost Dead, Lady Gaga, Lamp, Los Lobos, Los Lonely Boys, Lousekateers, The, Luke Combs, Marcus King, Mdou Moctar, Mighty Suicide Squirrels, The, Mogwai, Neil Young, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Otis and the Elevators, Pretenders, The, Psychedelic Furs, The, Public Enemy, Radiohead, Rolling Stones, The, Rush, Rush Tribute Project, Soraia, Sonic Youth, St. Vincent, Talking Heads, Typhoid Rosie, Yeah Yeah Yeahs.VENUES: Aragon Ballroom, Bonnaroo, Brooklyn Bowl, Caesars Palace, Crypto Center, Douglas Park, FM Kirby Center, Foxborough Stadium (Patriots Stadium), Garcia's, Hard Rock (Gary, Indiana), Hotel Figueroa, House of Blues (Las Vegas), JJ's Tavern (Florence, Massachusetts), Meigs Field, Metro, The, Music Fest (Bethlehem, Pennsylvania), Redwood Bar (Redwood Grill), Riot Fest, Salt Shed, The, Soldier Field, Space, The, Sphere, The, Tabernacle, The, T-Mobile Arena, United Center, Vic, The, World Music Theater, Zinzenplatz stage (at Music Fest). Heartbreak has a shape, and tonight it looked like a perfect throw to Cole Kmet that deserved a different ending. We sit with the loss to the Rams and refuse to look away from the fine print: Caleb Williams was electric, the drops were brutal, and the fourth-quarter edges weren't sharp enough. Pride is real, so is frustration, and both can push a team forward if you translate emotion into habits. We dig into the sequence that swung the game, why route effort matters when the ball is late or underthrown, and how veterans like Kmet steady a rookie-heavy supporting cast. Caleb's leadership arc shows up on the field and behind the mic—taking blame, spreading credit, and setting a tone that demands more from everyone, including DJ Moore. We talk development without excuses: cleaner stems, stronger hands, smarter situational football, and the boring details that separate “almost” from “advance.” The Soldier Field crowd and the weather did their part. Now the offense needs to match that energy snap to snap.Zooming out, we tackle the Mike Tomlin step-down and what it means for Steelers culture, plus a blunt look at the AFC's shifting hierarchy. The Patriots look ahead of schedule, and that should make a lot of teams uncomfortable. We sort quarterback narratives that got loud this weekend—who elevated, who folded, and why context matters when you hang 30 and still walk off a loser. Finally, we circle back to Chicago's runway: keep Kmet, rebuild Loveland's confidence, demand relentless effort from every route, and give Caleb the infrastructure to turn highlight throws into winning scripts. If you felt the sting and still see the future, you're in the right place. Hit follow, share this with the diehard in your life, and drop your take: what single change would have flipped this game—and what's the first move you make this offseason?Support the show-----------https://www.MTPshow.comOur Social Mediahttps://linktr.ee/MTPSHOW-----------Hosts: Mike Marcangelo, Dave Clarke, Rayshawn Buchanan, Bob KellyProducer: Craig D'AlessandroInquiries: Craig@mtpshow.com

The magic that kept the Chicago Bears alive amidst many moments of potential death ran out in a snowy and cold day in the Windy City. Patrick was at the game, Rob was on his couch, but both of them are shockingly optimistic about what this loss says about the future. Plus, Patrick documented his adventures to Soldier Field. You'll hear that before Rob and Patrick chat about where to place blame, where future excitement lies, and we also make fun of Aaron Rodgers.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
The Chicago Bears are DONE, and Packer Nation is celebrating. The Rams ended Chicago's Cinderella season in overtime, and your calls flooded in with pure, unfiltered joy. From Randy's wife in Minnesota declaring "hell is coming" for Ben Johnson to Beer Cheese's increasingly unhinged rants about Bears fans being "betas," this episode captures the raw emotion of watching your rival's dreams shatter on their home field. We break down why Caleb Williams isn't the elite quarterback the media wants you to believe he is—he's throwing prayer balls that happen to land, not making calculated throws. We examine the statistical improbability of Chicago's luck streak and why regression to the mean is inevitable. Plus, serious discussion on whether Green Bay is following the Buffalo Bills trajectory and what that means for Matt LaFleur's future. The episode closes with an original song celebrating Chicago's frozen dreams dying at Soldier Field. Subscribe and leave a review if you enjoyed the Bears' suffering as much as we did. A staunch Matt Lafleur defender hits the breaking point. After years of pushing back against emotional fan reactions and demands to fire the coach, the evidence from Saturday's playoff collapse against Chicago has become impossible to ignore. This episode examines what happens when analytical thinking meets undeniable reality. The discussion explores the psychological concept of "need for cognitive closure"—why fans rush to definitive answers—while acknowledging that sometimes the stopped clock is finally right. From Bill Huber's scathing Sports Illustrated piece to James Jones admitting "his seat just got real hot," the media consensus has shifted dramatically. Former players are calling out the team's lack of heart, effort, and basic football fundamentals in the biggest moments. The contrast with Ben Johnson's Bears—a team with inferior talent but superior belief—raises uncomfortable questions about culture, motivation, and what exactly is missing in Green Bay. With Ed Policy watching the meltdown from the Soldier Field press box, the "easy decision" has flipped: keeping Lafleur now requires more courage than letting him go. Czabe welcomes a trio of guests today, starting with ERIC GITTER and BRYAN WOLF, who explain why they have no enthusiasm for travelling south to Soldier Field for just the second-ever playoff meetings between the Packers and Bears in the modern NFL era. The Jets have basically given up. Melissa Stark can't read the room. Trevor Lawrence is loved by his team, and now has a bling-bling smile. Black Monday claims some more coaches. Are the Vikings sold on J.J. McCarthy? K-Balls, Trackman, and the rise of deep bomb kickers like Cam Little. The NFL's playoff seeding used to be much worse than it is now.
