For a seven-hour plane ride and the resulting return trip to Portland, this means 'Mission Accomplished.' So what can we take away from the Galaxy's win over Mount Pleasant? Maybe nothing? On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira discuss the Galaxy's win in the round of sixteen in the Concacaf Champions Cup while trying to figure out what we watched and how serious the competition was. Did Vanney start too strong a lineup? And what does it mean that the Galaxy beat the teams they were supposed to beat and now top the CCC standings? Plus, is it time for some "big boy soccer?" Are the Galaxy in trouble when it comes to Toluca? And finally, the guys talk about the trip to Portland and why you can't trust the Galaxy to win on the road until they actually win on the road. Let's talk! -- Corner of the Galaxy is kicking off Season 18, just a few shows past number 1,280! And we can't wait to show you everything we've got in store for 2026! We're back with another AFTN Soccer Show packed full of Vancouver Whitecaps, Major League Soccer, CONCACAF Champions Cup, and general football chat. It was a another two-game week for the Whitecaps, with two victories in two different competitions and two clean sheets to boot. The 'Caps dispatched a tough test in Costa Rican side Cartagines on Wednesday night in Champions Cup action to set up a Cascadian clash with Seattle in the next round. They followed that up with a Canadian derby win against Toronto on Saturday. We pick over the bones of both matches and the main talking points coming out of them. Plus we round up this week's action around MLS West and look at how the battle to be the Canadian number one goalkeeper is playing out down in Florida between Max Crepeau and Dayne St Clair after their derby. It was a good week in Whitecapsland all round, with two key pieces signing contract extensions and some new corporate deals announced. We chat with one of those key pieces, MLS Defender of the Year Tristan Blackmon, about last year's heroics, his very eventful and headline-making offseason, his new deal, what the club and city mean to him, and the season to come. The bad news? The 0-0 draw at home was convincing at best and downright difficult watch at worst. So what can the Galaxy do? Hosts Josh Guesman and Sophie Nicholaou discuss the Galaxy's woes in their first 270 minutes of soccer in 2026 and why the midfield still feels disconnected. But maybe the defense is stepping it up while the midfield and offense figure it out? No shots allowed on goal for San Miguelito, and the Galaxy have only given up one goal in the first three games (minus the PK against NYCFC). But can the Galaxy's defense do it all? And what happens if the Galaxy get scored on first? Can the offense figure it out before the pressure really ramps up on this team and the coaching staff?
