Hello friends! The one and only William Harries Graham returns to the show for episode 1572! Like most of Austin, I've watched William grow up to become an amazing music artist, wonderful man. And like most of Austin, I have been grieving the loss of his dad, Jon Dee Graham as an inspirational artist and friend after his passing in March. While caring for his dad after his second spine surgery, William wrote and recorded his new EP, the gorgeous and (mostly) upbeat, "Belrose Motel" out this Friday, June 5th on Strolling Bones Records. We have a long and deep conversation about losing his dad, dealing with his own grief and the whole community's grief, keeping his dad's music and memory alive, writing and recording "Belrose Motel" at home, how his passion for architecture informs his music, producing Jon Dee's last album, New Order, and much more. I was honored to sit and have this conversation with my old friend, William. He is a truly talented and special soul. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did. ON AIR je talk show hudebního publicisty Pavla Kučery s hudebníky a lidmi z hudební branže. Nový díl je uveřejněn každý týden na YouTube kanálu kytary.cz.

We have a very special guest on the show today - it’s everybody’s favourite socialite, influencer, and stylist - Lynn Harries! We chat Sex and the City, where not to be seen in Sydney this summer, and of course – Lana Del Rey. Living and breathing fashion, his work styling with brands such as Dinosaur Designs, have galvanised his impact on the Australian fashionscape. Lynn has also made a name for himself commentating on life in the Eastern Suburbs. He dissects what makes Sydneysiders tick - whether it be an overpriced dining experience, or a new hole-in-the-wall dessert place you wait hours in line for. This episode was produced and edited by Nick Hibbs. Out of the Box is recorded at the fbi station in Redfern, which is on unceded Gadigal Land. We pay our respects to Gadigal elders past and present and recognise the ongoing colonial violence committed across this country. Wherever you’re tuning in from in so-called Sydney, the land always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Send us a textWhat if the real question isn't “Is tech good or bad for kids?” but “How much, when, and to what end?” We sat down with Melissa Harries again, a psychologist with a sharp eye for evidence, to unpack what decades of research actually say about phones, gaming, and social media—and why the dose often makes the poison. Rather than fearmongering, we explore the markers that matter: sleep quality, school engagement, emotional regulation, and the social skills that only grow through real-world practice.Mel breaks down how dopamine-driven design keeps kids (and adults) hooked, why “just five more minutes” rarely works, and the simple leverage most families overlook: control the Wi‑Fi, not just the device. We get practical with black-and-white household rules that avoid grey-area arguments, term-by-term contracts that adapt as kids grow, and data caps that keep mobile access useful without undermining boundaries. We also confront the tough bits—cyberbullying, misread comments, the temptation to block instead of repair, and the reality that girls often face higher social media risks around body image and mood. This conversation looks beyond scare stories to what builds resilient, capable humans: boredom that sparks creativity, play that demands negotiation, and communities that agree on common-sense age limits so no child is the “only one” left out. Whether you're co-parenting across two homes or just exhausted after a long day, you'll find steps you can try tonight—devices out of bedrooms, scheduled internet off, notifications tamed—and a mindset shift from policing to coaching. If you're ready to swap power struggles for clear structure and more real-life wins, press play and join the conversation. If this helped, follow the show, share it with a friend, and leave a quick review to help others find it.Check out our socials on Instagram and Facebook at LeaveALightOnPodcast, and connect with us there.Share your stories with us and lets Leave a Light On

It's almost two decades since photographer Cath Harries set out to work on a book documenting London's finest pubs. As she walked the streets of the capital, however, she found herself wondering about a new project: London's most extraordinary doors. The idea took hold, and she found herself embarking upon a project which would take a decade and a half. Listen to Country Life podcast on Apple PodcastsListen to Country Life podcast on SpotifyListen to Country Life podcast on AudibleThe resulting work has come together in a book, Doors of London, which sees Cath's photos partnered with words by historian Melanie Backe-Hansen. There are wooden doors, glass doors, scary doors, brightly-coloured doors, mural doors and even a door which is — quite astonishingly — some 50ft high... complete with knocker which only a fairytale giant would be able to reach.Cath joined James Fisher on the Country Life Podcast to talk about her journey, how she went about pulling it all together — and the one door in London which she was banned from photographing, despite it being one of London's most famous. Today marks the start of a special series of shows in collaboration with island radio station Openlab and Tedx Dalt Vila ahead of the event in March. We hear from Regenerative Architecht Finn Harries who created the designs for Juntos Farm to transform our food system on the island. He says it used to be a place which created beef and hamburgers but now the farm has completely been rebuilt and is well on the way to changing the fact that only 2% of the food grown here is consumer here and most of it is imported. Juntos has become a place for community and gatherings and talks as well as food production and its is Finns first role as an architecht straight out of university. In his TED x Talk he touches on how this position came from a feeling that perhaps designing and building more place and spaces on planet earth didn´t quite feel right after all that he had experienced. You can hear him on stage on March 29th here in Ibiza at the Palacio De Congresso. Tickets are available here. Catch the radio show Tuesdays at 6pm on Openlab.fm
