Crusaders! Summer is officially OVER! We’re closing out the sweaty season with a full recovery for Snooki and, exciting news besties, her first drink in weeks! Round of applause for making it through surgery and your dry season, Snooki. Meanwhile, Joey’s had the worst summer of his life and if you thought he was being dramatic, he’s ready to spill his secret that will even devastate Snooki. We’re talking police and detectives on the scene. We are OVER IT, good riddance summer, we are fully decked out for fall! Not everyone was having a chaotic summer, Joey’s boyfriend Billy went viral on TikTok, Noah Beck has reportedly been following the trend, all the way from Paris. Hulu’s ‘The Shards’ is getting confusing, the duo talk ‘80s glam on set and are asking… where’s the horror? Meanwhile ‘Dancing with the Stars’ is casting quite the lineup, Snooki is hoping for a Julia Stiles vs. Jenna Dewan dance off! Then bestie shares her regrets on donating her iconic ‘Jersey Shore’ outfits. What a sin. Everything from spiked bracelets to rhinestoned sunglasses are making a comeback… as vintage. And speaking of iconic luxury looks, Snooki dismisses the rumors and the haters concerning her Gucci bags. Set ‘em straight mawma! While Joey breaks down the cultural shift with Gen Z trading luxury for experiences. And no episode would be complete without our messy mawmas on the hotline, calling in from ex-boyfriends with fetishes to kink play. Oh and someone wilded out and terrorized a McDonald’s on a 3 a.m. drunken hunger hunt… we’ve all been there. Right? As promised, we went to Bethenny's Supermodel cafe and despite all you have read and seen about the establishment down the street in East Quogue, we have a few things to say. Seems the town of Southhampton as well as New York State does too considering their violation notices, fines and what not. In other Hamptons news, Margaret Josephs has some Golden Life drama as things with the OG RHONY crew tend to be a tad bit different than hanging with Teresa and gang. Crystal Kung's RHOBH future is not at all what everyone expected. RHOBH films the new season as Dorit and Erika chat. Everyone seems to be coming for Shannon these days both on and off RHOC. Last, but sure as F not least, The Shards reigns supreme. Almost three weeks out from major surgery, Snooki joins us post-op to give the full inside scoop on having a hysterectomy and the reality behind recovery. Snooki has learned through her “hyster-sister” community that major surgery requires major downtime, what was initially understood as a two-week healing period is actually two months. Bestie breaks down the truth from having her organs rearranged to never having her period again. Meanwhile, Joey gives us a life update from Piki’s second birthday to his new favorite drink of the summer. While Joey has been sipping wine, Snooki is officially completing her first dry month. What better reward is there post-surgery recovery than a dry martini? As ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ is coming to its close, Snooki talks ending speculation and TikTok easter eggs. It’s been 15 years of growing up on the Shore, are we really ready to say goodbye to what started it all? Speaking of TV, Snooki and Joey catch us up on their latest binges from Hulu’s ‘The Shards’ to Emmy Rossum’s new ‘Furious.’ Did we forget to mention that Joey is premiering on Hulu? We’re leveling up! And in the world of celebrity, all of us experienced a great loss in Hayden Panettiere, the woman we all grew up with and who stood up for all women as she herself experienced postpartum depression, trauma, and grief. A hero on and off the screen, Snooki and Joey remember their dear friend and all her kindnesses. We love you Hayden, rest in peace our Ice Princess and Queen. I'm joined by Daily Mail reporter Jacques Peterson, and we dissect the backlash over Andy Cohen's surprising claim that Housewives' politics don't matter, and we break down Ultimate Girls Trip, including Vicki's insanely insensitive reaction to Kyle crying. Plus, Jacques gives his hot take on why he couldn't stand House of Stassi, and we share some wild scoop on Danny's behavior at Jasmine's wedding on The Valley (which naturally had me confessing to my own past wedding blunders). We even go head-to-head on the new copycat show, Double Lives of Suburban Wives, discuss Shards, and Jacques grills me on what it was really like growing up in LA during the 1980s. It's that time of year again—the September issue is back and this year is Chloe's first September issue as Head of Editorial Content at American Vogue. Fifteen years ago, before she interviewed at Vogue, she watched the 2009 The September Issue documentary to prepare herself for what was to come. Now it's her moment to be at the helm of the issue celebrating “the January of fashion.” Co-host Nicole Phelps and Vogue's Director of the Global Fashion Network, Virginia Smith joined Chloe to talk about their favorite stories from the issue and the behind the scenes mania of the elaborate photoshoots. They began by discussing the cover shoot photographed by the inimitable Steven Meisel starring Kaia Gerber and Homer Gere, two of the leads from Ryan Murphy's adaptation of The Shards by Bret Easton Ellis. This cover, featuring the young starlets in beautiful Chanel, calls back to the 1992 cover shoot of their parents Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere, shot by Herb Ritts. As far as the fashion message being conveyed in the shoot, Virginia explained, “We kept talking about this idea of designers looking back at the past to reinvent their future, and that tied in with the whole nepo-baby thing, and certainly made sense for our cover stars.” In her Editor's Letter at the front of the book, Chloe spoke about connecting with the cover stars over their shared experience of having famous parents and her embrace of the “nepo-baby” label. Homer, in particular, is new to the limelight and Chloe called him up. "Look, as someone with famous parents, you can run away from it, but that's not gonna work,” she told him, “And you should be proud of your parents. I'm proud of my parents—they've certainly made me who I am.” Nicole then spoke about Nathan Heller's deep dive with Demna. “[Demna] accomplished so much at Balenciaga and I think that has given him an assurance that he can take on this new challenge of Gucci. And he's really leading with fun.” The story includes a portrait of Demna, which was shot just days after the flashy Times Square resort show. Anna politely, but pointedly insisted that he not show up in all black, and he obeyed her wishes, showing up in a white t-shirt. They also noted a few other standout stories including Gaby Wood's profile of Marta Ortega, who has been responsible for leading Zara into the future over the past few years, Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin's maximalist train car shoot featuring the West End's favorite actors, Mattie Kahn's profile of conductor Gustavo Dudamel, and Adrienne Miller's conversation with Julia Louis Dreyfus about her upcoming Broadway debut. Also on today's episode, Chloe and Chioma caught up after Chloe's family trip to France. They discuss Chioma's latest Nicole Kidman cover shot by Venetia Scott and written by Giles Hattersley. “She's just got such presence,” Chioma noted, recalling a starstruck moment she had while greeting her at the Met Gala, “this kind of quiet, sphinx-like presence.” They also chat about the book club pick and Chioma's upcoming travels to Switzerland and Greece! The Run-Through with Vogue is your go-to podcast where fashion meets culture. Hosted by Chloe Malle, Head of Editorial Content, Vogue U.S.; Chioma Nnadi, Head of British Vogue; and Nicole Phelps, Director of Vogue Runway, each episode features the latest fashion news and exclusive designer and celebrity interviews. Ryan Murphy's The Shards is here, and apparently senior year in 1980s Los Angeles involves drugs, secrets, questionable hairstyles, mysterious new students, cults, serial killers, and absolutely no reliable narrators.Jillian is joined by her husband Tyler to break down Episodes 1 and 2 of The Shards, based on Bret Easton Ellis' novel. We break down Bret's growing obsession with mysterious new student Robert Mallory, whether Robert really was at that screening of The Shining, Matt's disappearance, and the increasingly disturbing threat of The Trawler.Plus, we get into the gloriously over-the-top '80s vibe of it all, debate who could actually be behind the murders, and rank our Top 5 “Now That's What I Call Camp!” moments that includes Debbie's completely unhinged parents, Susan Reynolds doing the most as student body president, and Bret rewriting his own reality in real time. And, of course, Tyler has plenty of Takes on spooky vans, aquariums, 26-year-olds playing high schoolers, and a homecoming party at the Beverly Hills Hotel.00:00:00 Reenactment - Bret-Robert-The Shining00:01:34 Intro to pod00:04:02 Behind the scenes00:19:14 Recap Episode 100:22:55 Recap Episode 200:26:28 Top 5 Camp00:27:53 Terry and Steven00:31:35 Debbie's mom Liz00:33:46 The Trawler00:37:51 Susan Reynolds00:41:20 Bret Easton Ellis00:47:48 Whodunit00:50:57 Tyler's TakesThank you to Matt Buechele (@mattbooshell) for creating our new theme song. I am officially the last remaining human on Earth who has never seen Rüfüs Du Sol live, and watching everyone's tour footage is testing my spirit. Speaking of wild video, we pivot to the stunning, surreal camera footage captured during the recent earthquake in Colombia that had everyone on social media doing a double-take. We take time to celebrate the incredible life, vibrant legacy, and immense global impact of Syd Towle following her tragic loss, reflecting on the lasting impression she left across the internet and beyond. On a lighter note, we dive into the fun, chaotic trends currently taking over TikTok this week—including the viral, bittersweet moment between a dad and his toddler that has the entire internet in tears because the little guy announced he's officially ready for a "big boy bike." Finally, we hit the screen with Robert Pattinson's work as Chris Hansen in Primetime, followed by our full breakdown of two major new streaming releases hitting Hulu: the long-awaited adaptation of The Shards and the relentless new drama Furious. TV critic Dan Fienberg from The Hollywood Reporter is back to review some new shows, including USA Network’s Anna Pigeon, HBO’s reptile-trafficking docuseries Monsters of God, and Ryan Murphy’s latest exercise in excess, The Shards. Nick and Dan also catch up on the latest news from the Big Brother house and talk about what else is happening in television. Later, Esmeralda Leon and Nick catch up on the weekend, talk about Heat, and get into some truly bizarre celebrity phobias. Alfred Hitchcock couldn’t stand eggs, Tyra Banks is afraid of dolphins, and Jennifer Aniston apparently has serious issues with water…and tricycles. Yeah, it’s pretty weird. [Ep 481]
Kaia Gerber and Homer Gere are Vogue's September cover stars! They had the glow of two people running on adrenaline and very little sleep when they joined The Run-Through for their first joint interview just ahead of The Shards premier day. The two stars of Ryan Murphy's new adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis's book were candid, funny, and clearly delighted to be doing press together for the first time. Asked for her elevator pitch, Gerber, a Ryan Murphy veteran who counts herself among Ellis's biggest fans, called the show a "seductive drama thriller" following privileged teenagers at an elite 1981 Los Angeles prep school as they collide with obsession, identity, and violence. Gere, for whom this was his first-ever podcast interview, offered a punchier synopsis: Euphoria, he said, "if it was in the '80s and was also a horror and was also Glee." Much of the conversation turned, fittingly, to what makes Ellis's work so unsettling in the first place. For Gerber, the answer lies not in the show's more graphic moments but in the eerie flatness with which her character and the rest of the cast greet even the most traumatic events. "A lot of the horror comes from the lack of reaction to the horror," she explained. Gere agreed, describing it as less shock than slow-building dread. The two also traced the emotional throughline back to their September cover shoot, photographed by Steven Meisel. It was another first for Gere, though Gerber has worked with the photographer since she was thirteen. Watching him find his footing on set, she said, felt like he'd "been doing this since you were 13." Gere and Gerber had the intimate, inside-joke energy of two people who've spent the better part of a year together on set. There was the cast's six-person group chat, unfortunately nicknamed "The Sharts"; Gere's failed attempt to sneak home a pair of the show's leather pants, which he wore, by his own count, for six months straight, and the very sweet wrap gift that Gere chose for Gerber. Check out vogue.com for the cover story and photo shoot! The Run-Through with Vogue is your go-to podcast where fashion meets culture. Ryan Murphy has become one of the most prolific forces in television over the past decade, with series across genres ranging from "Glee" to "9-1-1" to "American Horror Stories." His latest is "The Shards," co-created with Bret Easton, who is the author of the novel by the same name. The program is set in Los Angeles in 1981 and follows a group of friends (and a teen serial killer) at a prep school. Following a discussion of the show, the hosts discuss Murphy's journalism background and the success others have had crossing from reporting into entertainment, including Cameron Crowe and David Simon. About the show Streamed & Screened is a podcast about movies and TV hosted by Bruce Miller, a longtime entertainment reporter who is the retired editor of the Sioux City Journal in Iowa and Terry Lipshetz, managing editor of the National Newsroom for Lee Enterprises based in Madison, Wisconsin. (00:00) Happy Monday! Fred saw the new Spiderman movie and he actually thought it was good. Fred has also been watching a new series on Hulu called The Shards, based on the book Bret Easton Ellis. Turns out the show is pretty different from the book, shocker. Wouldn't it be nice to just chew on a leaf? Hardy had to remove rabbit guts from his yard last night so his dog wouldn't get into it. (00:20:02.45)(00:33:55.93) WHAT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT: The Red Sox have now lost two in a row to the A's after falling short to them 4-3. Mike Tomlin helped Aaron Rodgers get his spark back and was close to retiring when Tomlin got fired, but stayed because he had to have a full circle moment with Mike McCarthy.
