Passage: Hallelujah! My soul, praise the Lord. 2 I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing to my God as long as I live. 3 Do not trust in nobles, in a son of man,[a] who cannot save. 4 When his breath[b] leaves him, he returns to the ground; on that day his plans die. 5 Happy is the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, 6 the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them. He remains faithful forever, 7 executing justice for the exploited and giving food to the hungry. The Lord frees prisoners. 8 The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord raises up those who are oppressed.[c] The Lord loves the righteous. 9 The Lord protects resident aliens and helps the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked. 10 The Lord reigns forever; Zion, your God reigns for all generations. Hallelujah! Song: Put Not Your Hope in the Nation (https://open.spotify.com/track/6REeImTJOjU7WgXvEFCK7o?si=deeb873990fe436b) (Psalm 146) by Paul Zach and Wendell Kimbrough Lyrics: Put not your hope in the nation Put not your hope in a king Trust in the only one who opens eyes And sets the pris'ner free He is the maker of heaven He formed the earth and the sea Our help will come from the Lord our God Our gracious king of peace Praise the Lord Praise the Lord Praise the Lord O my soul Praise the Lord Praise the Lord Praise the Lord O my soul He is the hope of the hungry He is the Lord of the feast Our Father's house always opens wide To welcome refugees The fatherless find a Father The widow rests in His strength The heart of God is forever home To all the poor and weak Prayer: Lord, make me an instrument of your peace: where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen. -St. Francis of Assisi
Devotional Prayer by Be Inspired by His Word © Song by Elevation Music Let everything That has breath Praise the Lord Praise the Lord I'll praise in the valley Praise on the mountain I'll praise when I'm sure Praise when I'm doubting I'll praise when outnumbered Praise when surrounded 'Cause praise is the water My enemies drown in As long as I'm breathing I've got a reason to Praise the Lord Oh, my soul Praise the Lord Oh, my soul I'll praise when I feel it And I'll praise when I don't I'll praise 'cause I know You're still in control Because my praise is a weapon It's more than a sound Oh, my praise is the shout That brings Jericho down I won't be quiet I won't be quiet, my God is alive How could I keep it inside? But He gives us more and more grace [through the power of the Holy Spirit to defy sin and live an obedient life that reflects both our faith and our gratitude for our salvation]. Therefore, it says, “God is opposed to the proud and haughty, but [continually] gives [the gift of] grace to the humble [who turn away from self-righteousness].” So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you. Prayer, testimonies, announcements and offering. One of the most powerful weapons that God has given us for warfare is praise and worship (Psalm 149). The beauty of this weapon is you don't have to focus on the enemy, you focus on the One who deserves our attention. This message includes several stories from the Scriptures that illustrate this powerful truth.
We were created to know and worship our Creator. And PRAISE is actually a weapon that God has given us to do battle with. And the beauty of this kind of spiritual warfare is that we don't focus on the enemy but on the One who is worthy of all of our attention.

I love the chorus of the old Imperials song called Praise the Lord - "Praise the Lord He can work through those who praise Him. Praise the Lord for our God inhabits praise. Praise the Lord for the chains that seem to bind you, serve only to remind you that they drop powerless behind you when you praise Him." Yes there is power in praise. Let's praise Him today in spite of any and all challenges!
Praise is matter of two ingredients: Time and attention. As we praise God, we build a foundation of faith upon His attributes which anchors us deeply in His love and gives us confidence in His character.

There is so much power in praising the Lord. I love the words of the old Imperial's song Praise the Lord - "Praise the Lord, He can work through those who praise Him Praise the Lord, for our God inhabits praise Praise the Lord, for the chains that seems to bind you Serve only to remind you that they drop powerless behind you When you praise Him."
For Jesus Followers, God Has Compassion on Them, His Children, as they Praise and Fear Him MESSAGE SUMMARY: As a Jesus Follower, then you believe that God is the Creator of the Universe and that God is the Sovereign Lord of the Universe. Therefore, as Sovereign Lod, God merits your fear, respect, praise, and awe for the Grace, love, and mercy He has given to you. Proverbs 1:7 tells you that the “Fear of the Lord”, while bringing the Lord's “Compassion” and “Blessings”, also, brings you “Knowledge”: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.". David models again and again, as in Psalms 117:1-2, how we should praise God: "Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in his commandments! His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.". In Psalms 112:1-2, David again admonishes you to praise and to fear the Lord: “Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in his commandments! His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.". Therefore, God, as our Father, has compassion on us His children as we praise and fear Him. TODAY'S PRAYER: Father, when I read even part of the story of Job, I too am overwhelmed by your “wildness.” Your ways and timing are beyond me. Job moved from hearing about you to having “seen you.” Lead me, Lord, on a pathway so that I too can pray as Job prayed: “My ears had heard of you, but now my eyes have seen you” (Job 42:5). Praise the LORD------Praise, O servants of the LORD,---Praise the name of the LORD--Blessed be the name of the LORD---From this time forth and forevermore----From the rising of the sun to its going down---The LORD's name is to be praised.-----The LORD is high above all nations,---His glory above the heavens.---Who is like the LORD our God,---Who dwells on high,---Who humbles Himself to behold---The things that are in the heavens and in the earth-------He raises the poor out of the dust,---And lifts the needy out of the ash heap,---That He may seat him with princes----With the princes of His people.---He grants the barren woman a home,---Like a joyful mother of children.-----Praise the LORD-
