Quiero que hoy pongamos toda la atención a un evento que ocurrió con Jesús y dos mujeres totalmente opuestas: María a los pies del Señor, Martha en medio de sus ocupaciones diarias, alejada totalmente del Señor, con una vida espiritual pobre y con un sin número de actividades.Dice Lucas 10:38-42 "38 Aconteció que yendo de camino, entró en una aldea; y una mujer llamada Marta le recibió en su casa. 39 Esta tenía una hermana que se llamaba María, la cual, sentándose a los pies de Jesús, oía su palabra. 40 Pero Marta se preocupaba con muchos quehaceres, y acercándose, dijo: Señor, ¿no te da cuidado que mi hermana me deje servir sola? Dile, pues, que me ayude. 41 Respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Marta, Marta, afanada y turbada estás con muchas cosas. 42 Pero solo una cosa es necesaria; y María ha escogido la buena parte, la cual no le será quitada.”Jesús interviene en esta escena y nos dice algo radical: hay una sola cosa por la que realmente debemos preocuparnos. No nos dice que hay diez, ni siete, ni cuatro. Solo una. A lo largo de los evangelios, vemos que a Jesús no le impresionan las actividades de los hombres; A Él le agradan las personas que saben establecer sus prioridades y no solo el hacer por hacer.Hoy te pregunto: ¿Cuáles son tus prioridades? ¿A qué le estás dando verdaderamente el primer lugar en tu vida? Algunos viven obsesionados con mantenerse activos, pero ese exceso de actividad —ese afán de querer cumplirle a todo el mundo— te está llevando a perder efectividad. Te metes en tantas cosas al mismo tiempo por no saber decir "no", que al final del día terminas dándote cuenta de que no haces bien ni lo uno ni lo otro.La cultura de hoy nos vende la mentira de que tener una agenda a reventar y vivir permanentemente ocupados es sinónimo de éxito. ¡Gran error! Nos hacen creer que si no nos queda ni un hueco en el día, si no tenemos tiempo para jugar con los hijos o para sentarnos a comer tranquilos, entonces somos personas eficaces. Pero la realidad es que una vida verdaderamente vacía es aquella que está llena de movimiento desde la mañana hasta la noche, corriendo de un lado a otro solo para mantener a los demás contentos.Si no tienes una mañana tranquila, si perdiste el espacio para preparar un buen café y sentarte a disfrutarlo en paz, o si ni siquiera te permites el lujo de aburrirte un ratico para dejar que la mente divague, has perdido la quietud. Y no lo olvides: los grandes descubrimientos y las mejores decisiones de la vida nacen de la quietud, no del ruido de las exigencias de la gente.Jesús lo dijo: "Venid a mí todos los que estáis trabajados y cargados, y yo os haré descansar." (Mateo 11:28, RVR1960)Cristo tiene el poder de darte verdadero descanso, pero mientras sigas concentrado en cumplir las expectativas de los demás, tu vida no va a avanzar. Hay batallas que son buenas, pero tú no tienes que pelearlas todas. Sencillamente, no puedes decirle "sí" a todo el mundo.¿Y sabes por qué nos cuesta aplicar este principio? Porque en el fondo, nuestro mayor problema es querer quedar bien. Ese afán de decirle que sí a todos y de estar metidos en todo nace de una profunda necesidad de aprobación.Parece que hoy en día somos especialistas en agradar a todos menos a Dios. Pero, lastimosamente, en ese momento se perdió el foco, se perdió el enfoque y se perdieron los estribos.Intentar agradar a los hombres a costa de tu relación con Dios es el peor error que puedes cometer. Cuando cedes a la presión de quedar bien, de hacer lo que el mundo te exige y de decir solo lo que otros quieren escuchar, terminas alejándote de tu propósito. Te vas perdiendo hasta llegar a un punto ciego, a un punto de no retorno... tal como le ocurrió a Moisés.Las consecuencias de agradar al sistemaEl asunto es que cuando tratas de agradar a las personas por encima de a Dios, la historia no termina ahí: siempre hay graves consecuencias. Quien vive intentando agradar al sistema, al jefe, a los empleados o a la familia, termina cediendo en sus principios y acabas haciendo lo que no debes solo por encajar. Estás priorizando la opinión y la comodidad de los demás por encima de tu convicción.He visto a muchos fracasar por seguir el consejo equivocado, por vivir pendientes de lo que el otro dijo, pensó o señaló. Hoy vengo a confrontarte con estas preguntas:¿Qué importa que la gente ya no quiera caminar contigo?¿Qué importa que a la gente le moleste la verdad que estás diciendo?¿Qué importa si te critican por estar siempre hablando del Señor?Es mil veces mejor agradar a Dios que a los hombres, es mejor agradar a Dios que ceder ante un sistema corrupto que va en decadencia. Hoy en día, por agradar al empleado, le permiten hacer lo que le da la gana; por agradar a los hijos, los hijos terminan gobernando la casa. ¡No! Vamos a tomar la Biblia y vamos a decidir agradar a Dios por encima de cualquiera.Grábate esto: cuando agradas a Dios, te va bien; cuando agradas a los hombres, siempre te pagan mal. Preocuparte por la aprobación de los demás silencia la voz de Dios en tu interior. Empiezas a escuchar tantas voces y opiniones —que si fulano dijo esto, que si mengano piensa aquello— que terminas haciendo una mescolanza en tu cabeza y perdiendo tu rumbo.Hoy vengo a decirle a la iglesia: vamos a tener carácter para que podamos escuchar la voz de Dios en el corazón.Caminar en la ruta de agradar a los demás termina haciéndole daño al propósito que Dios te ha dado. Deja de vivir del qué dirán. Deja de preocuparte por complacer a quienes te rodean. Tu única prioridad debe ser que tu vida le agrade a Dios; lo que piensen los demás no tiene por qué gobernar tus decisiones.Cuando te paras firme en tus convicciones y aprendes a decir "no", algunos se van a alejar. Hay quienes prefieren huir antes que recibir corrección, y terminan aparentando ser lo que no son. Entiende esto: hay muchos que hablan muy lindo, pero viven muy mal.El que brilla por fuera es porque tiene talento, pero el que brilla por dentro es el que tiene carácter. No impresiona una buena labia ni la apariencia externa; lo que verdaderamente sostiene tu vida es tener al Espíritu de Dios adentro. Un talento sin carácter te convierte en una persona dañina.
