Organized crime groups in North Africa and Europe are increasingly using children as drug mules to transport illicit substances across borders. This disturbing trend involves several key aspects:Recruitment and Exploitation:Targeting Vulnerable Youth: Crime groups often recruit children from impoverished backgrounds or those with limited familial support.Coercion and Manipulation: Children may be coerced, manipulated, or lured with promises of money, safety, or a better future. Methods of Smuggling:Physical Concealment: Drugs are hidden on or inside the children's bodies, in their clothing, or in items they carry.Reduced Suspicion: Authorities may be less likely to suspect children of smuggling, making them attractive targets for traffickers.Routes and Networks:Transnational Operations: Children are used to move drugs between North Africa and Europe, exploiting porous borders and using various transportation methods, including boats, vehicles, and on foot.Complex Networks: Organized crime groups operate sophisticated networks that facilitate the movement of drugs and manage the logistics of using child mules.Risks and Consequences for Children:Legal and Physical Dangers: Children face significant risks, including arrest, imprisonment, and physical harm from handling dangerous substances.Psychological Trauma: The experience can lead to severe psychological trauma, impacting their mental health and future prospects.Law Enforcement Challenges:Detection and Prosecution: Identifying and prosecuting the adults responsible for exploiting children is challenging, as criminal organizations use various tactics to evade detection.Protection and Rehabilitation: Ensuring the safety and rehabilitation of child mules requires coordinated efforts between law enforcement, social services, and international organizations.International and National Responses:Policy and Legislation: Governments and international bodies are working to strengthen laws and policies to protect children and combat the exploitation by criminal groups.Awareness and Education: Efforts are being made to raise awareness about the issue and educate communities to prevent the recruitment of children by organized crime groups.(commercial at 8:18)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Feared drug cartels are using 'unlimited' supply of child migrants in Europe as foot soldiers to shift cocaine threaten them with rape and torture if they fail to sell enough, investigation finds | Daily Mail OnlineBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-moscow-murders-and-more--5852883/support.

Attorney Kurth Brashear doesn't shy away from addressing the challenging governance issues facing the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod today. Drawing from his extensive experience in both church leadership and legal practice, he offers a candid assessment of how the church's governance structures sometimes hinder rather than help our shared mission.• Developing a heart for church mission comes from understanding that God wants all people to be saved• The "clearinghouse concept" facilitates sharing of synodical resolutions across districts to improve communication• Prior approval process lacks transparency, leading to mistrust and uncertainty within church leadership• Many church leaders fear speaking openly about opportunities for improvement due to potential repercussions• Term limits for synodical officers would remind us that no one is irreplaceable in God's mission• Current electoral system gives equal weight to congregations regardless of size, creating representation imbalances• Commissioned ministers' voices need greater recognition in church governance and decision-making• Primary focus should remain on the 98% we agree on rather than the 2% where we differ• Healthy organizations handle difficult conversations well rather than avoiding themThe Balance of GrayGod, doubt, and proof walk into a podcast... it goes better than you'd expect!Listen on: Apple Podcasts SpotifySupport the showJoin the Lead Time Newsletter! Emily Ley, founder of Simplified, tells CBS News' Jo Ling Kent she's paid more than $1 million in tariffs since 2018 and can't survive new hikes. Now, she's suing President Trump, arguing the trade policy bypassed Congress. Mohsen Mahdawi, a green card holder, was arrested earlier this week in Vermont. He was among the students who led protests at Columbia University against the Gaza war. He is not charged with a crime, but the Trump administration wants him deported. Prior to his detainment, Mahdawi told CBS News about his fear that a long-awaited appointment to become a U.S. citizen was a "honey trap." The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office has released bodycam video showing deputies searching the home of actor Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, before they were discovered. Warning, some of the video in this story is disturbing. New research finds there may be an increase in autism diagnosis rates among U.S. children. A CDC report found about 1 in 31 children were diagnosed with autism by age 8 in 2022. CBS News medical contributor Dr. Celine Gounder joins "CBS Mornings" to explain the new findings. In their fifth collaboration, Ryan Coogler directs Michael B. Jordan in one of his most ambitious roles yet—playing both leads in a haunting new film set in the Jim Crow-era South. Ross Mathews, co-host of "The Drew Barrymore Show," and his husband Dr. Wellinthon García-Mathews share the inspiration behind their new children's book "Tío and Tío," which follows two young brothers learning about love and responsibility as ring bearers at their uncles' wedding in Mexico. Psalm 111 English Standard VersionGreat Are the Lord's Works111 Praise the Lord!I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart,    in the company of the upright, in the congregation.2 Great are the works of the Lord,    studied by all who delight in them.3 Full of splendor and majesty is his work,    and his righteousness endures forever.4 He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered;    the Lord is gracious and merciful.5 He provides food for those who fear him;    he remembers his covenant forever.6 He has shown his people the power of his works,    in giving them the inheritance of the nations.7 The works of his hands are faithful and just;    all his precepts are trustworthy;8 they are established forever and ever,    to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness.9 He sent redemption to his people;    he has commanded his covenant forever.    Holy and awesome is his name!10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;    all those who practice it have a good understanding.    His praise endures forever!English Standard Version (ESV)The Holy Bible, English Standard Version. The Washington Roundtable speaks with Jeffrey Rosen, the president and C.E.O. of the National Constitution Center, a nonpartisan nonprofit, about how America's founders tried to tyrant-proof their constitutional system, how Donald Trump's whim-based decision-making resembles that of the dictator Julius Caesar, and what we can learn from the fall of the Roman Republic. Plus, how the Supreme Court is responding to the Trump Administration's broad claims of executive power. Rosen, a professor at George Washington University Law School, hosts the “We the People” podcast and is the author of “The Pursuit of Happiness: How Classical Writers on Virtue Inspired the Lives of the Founders and Defined America.” This week's reading: “Trump's Golden Age of Bunk,” by Susan B. Glasser “Trump's Disgrace,” by David Remnick “What Will Democratic Resistance Look Like?,” by Jay Caspian Kang “What Putin Wants Now,” by Isaac Chotiner To discover more podcasts from The New Yorker, visit newyorker.com/podcasts. Peter Beinart: 'I feared ethnic cleansing on a large scale, but I couldn't imagine Gaza'

Peter Beinart’s new book, “Being Jewish After the Destruction of Gaza: A Reckoning” confronts his “horror” - even as a long-time harsh critic of Israeli policies - at the devastation that has taken place over the past 15 months. “In 2023, I wrote about my concerns about the possibility of ethnic cleansing on a large scale, as opposed to the small scale ethnic cleansing that has been going on for years,” Beinart said, speaking on the Haaretz Podcast. “But I really could not imagine what we've seen in Gaza - which is basically the destruction of an entire society, most of the buildings destroyed, most of the hospitals, schools, universities, agriculture, the necessities of life.” But even worse, he explained, was the “widespread embrace of mass expulsion, not just by people on the Israeli and American right, but by people who were considered moderate, centrist, reasonable, and thoughtful. That's the catastrophe, the horror - and I would even say the evil - that I could not imagine.”See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Clifford  (Author) https://www.amazon.com/Troublemaker-Became-Billionaire-Greatest-Dissident/dp/1668027690 Jimmy Lai escaped mainland China when he was twelve years old, at the height of a famine that killed tens of millions. In Hong Kong, he hustled and often slept overnight on a table in a clothing factory where he did odd jobs. At twenty-one, he was running a factory. By his mid-twenties, he owned one and was supplying sweaters and shirts to some of the biggest brands in the United States, from Polo to The Limited. His ideas about retail led him to create Giordano in 1981, and with it “fast fashion.” A restless entrepreneur, as Giordano prepared to go public, he was thinking about a dining concept that would disrupt Hong Kong's fast-food industry. But then came Tiananmen Square democracy protest and the massacre of 1989. 1930S
