Morning lessons: Psalms 113, 138; Exodus 32; Luke 1:26-38.  Praise the Lord.  Sing Praises you servants of the Lord; O praise the Name of the Lord.

The practice of singing praise to the Lord goes back to biblical examples from the Red Sea deliverance to Paul and Silas in prison. Producing hymns and making music that glorifies God is an act of worship now and into our eternal home in Heaven.

Where there is a worshiper, there is a singer. Forgetting that our hearts are always singing praise to someone or something, we often have a small view of the importance of expressing our worship of God through song. The psalmist calls upon us to “make a joyful noise unto God!” Over these 75 years, the ministry of music has lifted our hearts and sent our spirits soaring. Blessed with talented leadership and the dedication of thousands of volunteers, choirs of children, youth and adults lifting their voices and ringing bells and playing instruments have marked every season. So, we join with the saints in heaven as we “Sing praise to God who reigns above, the God of all creation!” Our scripture reading is Psalm 98.
