Today's Bible reading Job 42:1-17. Recommend reading Psalm 31:1-8; Psalm 25:1-22; Psalm 51. We see God restored Job and gave him double for his trouble! We serve a mighty God who tests us ! Refine and purifies us too! There's no exact timetable of how long Job suffered but the happy ending is that God sustained him and blessed more than her had before! Stay strong family prayers up all over the world Amen

Scripture Reflection for Jan. 29, 2024: Lord, Teach Me How To Suffer by Priests for Life
Help me continue making great biblical content for listeners everywhere, everyday at patreon.com/JeremyMcCandlessToday we dive deep into "The Lord's Prayer, seeking insights from the teachings of Jesus. In today's episode, we explore the profound passage in Luke 11:1-13, where Jesus' disciples ask him to teach them how to pray.Episode Notes:Most of life's challenges revolve around relationships and conflicts. If Jesus were here today, how would he teach us to navigate these issues? What if the Apostle Paul were present? Would he guide us similarly? These questions lead us to the idea that, based on the New Testament, they might initiate what we now call a church—a gathering, teaching, and spreading of the word.In Luke 11:1-13, Jesus' disciples approach him, asking to be taught to pray, just as John taught his disciples. This sets the stage for the Lord's Prayer, a model that divides into two parts: addressing God's concerns and personal needs.Addressing God's Concerns:"Father, hallowed be your name." Acknowledging God as our Father, we venerate His name, recognizing the importance of knowing His character."Your kingdom come." Praying for the future realization of God's complete plan for the earth, emphasizing the Kingdom's arrival when Jesus returns."Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." A profound statement highlighting the purpose of prayer—to align our desires with God's will, seeking His purpose on earth.Addressing Our Personal Needs:"Give us each day our daily bread." A daily prayer for provisions, extending beyond physical needs to encompass all necessities for daily living."Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us." Seeking daily forgiveness and recognizing the importance of forgiving others."Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the Evil one." Praying proactively for protection from temptation and spiritual challenges.Jesus reinforces the importance of persistence through a parable. A friend's persistence at midnight results in obtaining bread. Jesus encourages asking, seeking, and knocking, promising that those who do so will receive, find, and have doors opened. This persistence aligns with the broader prayer, emphasizing God's willingness to provide, especially the Holy Spirit for spiritual strength. Conclusion:The disciples' request to learn how to pray reflects a desire to understand the essence of prayer. Learning to pray involves facing challenges beyond our abilities and fostering dependence on God. This passage underscores the significance of developing a profound prayer life, recognizing the primacy of our relationship with God.Join us in exploring the transformative power of prayer, aligning our hearts with the divine and trusting in the guidance of our loving Father. Remember, being a great prayer is more valuable than being a great preacher, emphasizing the importance of a meaningful and impactful prayer life.fe.Support the showMy Amazon Author Pageamazon.com/author/jeremymccandlessJeremy McCandless is creating podcasts and devotional resources | PatreonHelp us continue making great content for listeners everywhere.https://thebibleproject.buzzsprout.com

None of us is on this earth by mistake or surprise to God. It was His pleasure to cause the mystery of our being to be unveiled in the world. His agenda for our lives is so great hence He chose to create us in His image and likeness. He left a void in us that only He can fill and this is His way of helping us experience the fullness of who He is so we can fulfil our God given destiny for our lives.
After delivering a young girl from demon possession, magistrates of the town had Paul and Silas beaten and jailed. While in the depths of the prison, Paul and Silas began praising God. We know the story about how the chains came off and the jail doors opened, and of the conversion of the jailer and his family. We are challenged in this teaching to praise God in the darkness, not when it is easy, but when it is hard and necessary. That is when people watch you the most and your testimony is the most powerful.

Remember as a child what it was like—when you fell down, who picked you up? When you were scared, who did you run to? For most of us, the first place we ran is to mom, dad, grandma, — to someone who took care of us. We had simple faith that they will make it better, But then something strange happened. We stopped running, not altogether, but we stopped running to our parents, and it became so easy to run to other things. Today is return to our childhood in Christ as we reflect on what it is to be God's child and to run into His loving arms. This is “Lord Teach Me!”
“Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”” Mark 9:23-24 NKJV --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/porcia-boateng7/support

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God...
God's covenant people must diligently teach their covenant children all God's covenant commandments by speaking of them all the time everywhere so they too love God together. Love your children in the Lord. Diligently teach your children to love the Lord. To diligently teach your children to love the Lord, do so all the time and everywhere. - Matthew 6:9-13 / How important is prayer in your life? The truth is, for many followers of Christ, prayer is one of their most neglected resources. Crawford Loritts says there are four aspects of prayer that should be at the forefront of our thinking. We should realize that we are praying to a Person, we are to pray for His plan, we should pray for his provision, and pray for His protection. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Jesus told his disciples, “I have called you my friends.” May we learn to imitate Jesus in being a good friend. In this time of prayer, we consider, what are the attitudes, the virtues of a true friend? Do we turn to Christ when we find it difficult, do we ask him for the help to be a good friend? A meditation by Father John Agnew.
Is there a correct way to pray? That's exactly what the disciples of Jesus wished to find out. Tune in as we discuss His answer.
