Siri and Matt Del Negro talk about how to keep going in the face of rejection and the hope that comes afterward.Matt Del Negro is an actor known for Scandal, The Sopranos, The West Wing, and now, City On A Hill. His book “10,000 Nos” talks about his experience with being told no as an actor and teaches others how to handle rejection. What You Will Learn: How to take a risk Reframing the “no” Maintaining confidence in yourself How to go first When to quit something that isn't making you happy
Matt kicks things off with a really interesting story about how a girl and a trip to Italy changed him from a D1 lacrosse player at BC to an actor in NYC. How Georgianne Walken caused him to lose one job, but then got him the gig of a lifetime on the Sopranos. He also shares stories about his first day on set and his audition where he got a rare pat on the back from David Chase. Then Chris Caldovino joins the podcast. Chris followed Terry Winter from NY to LA and was the only other client of Terry’s fake agency. When Chris was hired for the Sopranos he got the role of Billy Saragusa…But after one day the writers changed his name to Billy Leaotardo and that’s the way it stayed. Chris may be the only person killed by Steve Buscemi in two different shows! BTW ever since the Milton Berle huge cock episode we've been getting a lot of e-mails and Steve is finally going to set the record straight about who’s packing in Hollywood. The Golden Poddy awards have been released and you’ll be surprised at what Talking Sopranos has been nominated for. I've known Matt Del Negro for several years. You would never think he's an actor who has had key roles in The Sopranos, The West Wing, NCIS, Chicago Fire, and a dozen other movies and TV series. Why I make that statement is because he is so down to earth, so humble and if somebody asked me to guess his occupation, I would never think "actor". When I heard that Matt was releasing the book ‘10,000 NOs: How To Overcome Rejection On The Way To Your Yes’, I was so excited for him. I've listened to his popular podcast 10,000 NOs and was curious – was it simply transcripts of interviews or something completely different? Meet the guy who plays Matt Del Negro in real life, my friend Matt Del Negro. https://www.matthewdelnegro.com/ You can get the book here: https://www.10000nos.com/

Today we have a friend of mine on the show – the very talented and creative Matt Del Negro. As an actor Matt has built an impressive career playing a wide range of roles in features, television and theater, including shows like "Scandal," "The Sopranos," "The West Wing," "Teen Wolf,” "Goliath" with Billy Bob Thornton and most recently “Huge in France” on Netflix which my husband and I binge-watched- and you must check out! Despite his impressive resume, Matt describes his career as being told “No” for a living and in July of 2017, he launched his podcast, 10,000 "No"s, where he sits down with successful people from all walks of life and discusses the rejections and struggles they've had to overcome on their journey to where they are today. Also, something I recommend you check out - It’s available on iTunes, Spotify and at 10000nos.com. In today’s episode we discuss: How Matt became an actor What his experience working as an actor has taught him about rejection How certain failures led him to his greatest successes And much much more! We actually recorded this episode while I was in Paris last spring! So this is a delayed release. But there wasn’t anything particularly time sensitive in our convo and I think it’s just as valuable as it was then. Hope you guys enjoy the show! I first heard Rob Grupe’s story on Matt Del Negro’s podcast 10,000 No’s (which you all should be listening to as well) and was amazed by his story and what he has been able to overcome. Frankly, Rob’s story is a direct result of his own decisions as you will hear in the podcast. But through those mistakes Rob as taken ownership of them and has made a decision to learn from them and at the same time help others from what he’s learned. Rob and I get into his life documenting his drug addiction and jailhouse stories but also what he’s been able to achieve since his release from prison. Here is his official bio… Rob Grupe overcame several drug addictions and spent 7 years 6 months and 18 days in prison. After several near-death experiences while being over 300 pounds, health and fitness helped him turn his life around. He started his journey as a personal trainer and worked his way up to now owning his own gym, Twice Bitten CrossFit. Twice Bitten CrossFit is now the largest CrossFit gym in Oklahoma City, which happens to be one of the unhealthiest cities in America. Rob has already been able to help over 1000 people achieve health and fitness success through his gym, but he wants to do more. Rob’s mission is to continually search for learning opportunities and experiences that positively change people's ways of thinking, inspire strength, desire, perseverance and motivation to have physical, emotional and spiritual breakthroughs. Since being released from prison he has taken full advantage of his second opportunity at freedom… To date Rob has helped his clients lose over 1000 inches and 4000 pounds and become the strongest healthiest version of themselves with each training session. He also has set a goal of impacting over 10,000 people's lives through health and fitness within the next year. Rob Grupe spent 7 years in jail, learned from his mistakes and is now living, No Ordinary Life.
