Send us a note about this episode. We'll reply and thank you on a future episode“Journalism is dead.” You've heard it. You've probably said it. And honestly, the evidence seems pretty hard to argue with. Newsrooms gutted, trust in tatters, cable news turned into a gladiator sport. But what if that story, the one we keep telling about journalism, is itself bad journalism? Neil Brown thinks so. He's a 40-year editor and president of the Poynter Institute, and he is, by his own admission, an optimist about the media. When he tells you why, it might genuinely change how you think about where good information comes from. For most of his career, Emilio Umeoka was rarely still. His leadership roles at companies including Microsoft and Apple took him across Brazil, Asia and Silicon Valley, managing global teams and navigating constant change. But long before he stepped away from corporate life, he had already started asking himself a different question: what comes next? Unlike many career transitions, Emilio's wasn't triggered by burnout, redundancy or crisis. Instead, it was the result of a deliberate process of reflection, planning and experimentation. With support from a transition coach and later through Stanford University's Distinguished Careers Institute, he began exploring what work, contribution and purpose might look like beyond a traditional executive career. In this conversation, Emilio speaks with Angela about preparing for life after corporate success, the challenge of "losing the logo" and separating your identity from the company you've spent decades representing. They discuss why retirement is becoming an outdated concept, the importance of staying curious, and how longer lives may require us to rethink careers, learning and contribution altogether. Emilio also shares the practical lessons he learned from his own transition, including the value of community, the role of experimentation in finding a new direction and why he believes purpose is something we continue to discover rather than something we find once and for all. In this episode of the Always Better Than Yesterday Podcast, host Ryan Hartley sits down with executive coach, therapist, speaker, Ironman athlete and bestselling author Nick Jonsson.Nick's story is one of extraordinary contrast. From climbing the corporate ladder and appearing outwardly successful to privately battling burnout, addiction, depression and profound loneliness, Nick shares the painful truth behind what many high performers experience but rarely talk about.Together, Ryan and Nick explore executive loneliness, the cost of hiding our struggles, the danger of suffering in silence and why vulnerability may be one of the most powerful leadership skills available to us. Nick shares how losing his marriage, career, health and identity ultimately became the catalyst forrebuilding a more meaningful life. This conversation explores leadership pressure, psychological safety, men's mental health, addiction recovery, healthy community, peer support, coaching, purpose and what it means to create spaces where people can finally stopperforming and start being human.About Executive Loneliness & The Limitless Life AssessmentNick Jonsson is best known for bringing global attention to executive loneliness — the hidden struggle experienced by many leaders who appear successful externally while privately carrying isolation, anxiety and pressure. His work now focuses on helping leaders create healthier, more connected and more sustainable ways of living.Central to this work is The Limitless Life Assessment — a holistic framework exploring eight key areas of life including health, relationships, finances, purpose, career and environment. The assessment encourages people to stopviewing life through the narrow lens of work-life balance and instead measure what truly matters. The work includes executive coaching, therapy, psychological safety facilitation, recovery work, men's groups and holistic leadership development. The goal is to help people build lives that are not simply successful — but sustainable. Those with ears, let them hear.Always love,RyanConnect with Nick JonssonWebsite: https://www.nickjonsson.com/Life Assessment: https://lifeassessment.nickjonsson.com/Book – Executive Loneliness: https://www.nickjonsson.com/executive-loneliness-bookLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-jonsson/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jonssonnick/Podcast – The Limitless Podcast: https://www.nickjonsson.com/podcastConnect with Always Better Than YesterdayWebsite: https://abty.co.uk/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alwaysbetterthanyesterdayuk/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/abty/Men's Group (Akira): https://abty.co.uk/akiraJoin our mailing list: https://abty.co.uk/contactSign up for coaching: https://abty.co.uk/coachingPlease email questions and reflections to:podcast@abty.co.uk

Send us Fan MailThis episode is about something I believe quietly destroys more lives than most people realize. It is not always trauma. It is not always failure. It is not always lack of opportunity.Sometimes, it is our unconscious reaction to everything. In this solo episode of Alison Answers, I'm talking about the difference between reacting to life and intentionally creating it.Because so many of us think we are thinking things through, but what we are really doing is reacting.I share insights from my book The Wake Up Call and walk through how we move from reaction mode into creation. In this episode, I talk about:- Why most people are reacting more than they realize- Why worry is a form of visualization- How your brain prepares your body for what you repeatedly focus on- Why fear can start to feel like wisdom- How hypervigilance trains the brain to search for danger- Why calm can feel unsafe when your nervous system is used to chaos- How language shapes identity- Why mediocrity is so expensive- How repeated thoughts become practiced identity- Why creation requires action, not just wishful thinking- How to stop rehearsing fear and start creating the life you actually wantIf you have been feeling anxious, tired, stuck, uninspired, or like you are constantly reacting to life instead of leading it, I want this episode to be a wake-up call.Timestamps:00:00 Intro00:58 Stop reacting and start creating02:41 The thing quietly destroying people's lives03:28 Thinking vs reacting04:18 Old programming, fear, and childhood conditioning05:21 Rehearsing disaster and worst-case scenarios06:40 A tool to calm the body and interrupt reaction08:26 Reacting to life vs creating it intentionally09:03 Rehearsed fear vs rehearsed future10:03 Worry is visualization11:18 What world is your brain preparing you for?12:33 How focus strengthens neural pathways12:57 Hypervigilance and searching for danger15:08 When rehearsed fear starts to feel like wisdom17:06 Why people become addicted to reaction18:53 Why calm can feel unsafe20:09 Creation requires presence21:55 Letting go of struggle and seeking wisdom22:21 Why society rewards mediocrity23:49 Wanting more does not make you shallow26:14 How people slowly settle for less27:47 The real cost of mediocrity30:01 Identity is built through repetition30:51 Why language matters31:55 How to interrupt painful identity patterns33:30 Creation requires action35:08 Life is built one thought, one feeling, one breath at a time37:08 The inherited story vs the consciously created story38:11 Are you reacting or creating?39:24 Take charge of your life39:51 Closing message and how to support the podcastConnect with Alison:Instagram: @alisonanswers | @lagercounselingWebsite: LagerCounseling.comYouTube: Alison AnswersFacebook: Alison Lager Lcsw CasacPurchase Alison's book: “The Wake Up Call”Alison Answers Facebook Group: Join HEREWomen of Excellence FB group: Join HERE⚠️ Crisis Resources:Lager Counseling ServicesCall: 516-221-2123Text: (914) 363-0381Wantagh: 3408 Park Ave. Wantagh, NY 11793988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (24/7, free, confidential)Call or text 988 | Visit 988lifeline.org
What if your podcast doesn't actually need more episodes — it needs more intentionality? In today's episode, I'm talking about one of the biggest mistakes I see podcasters making when it comes to business growth. So many creators are publishing incredible content consistently, yet they're still struggling to generate clients, visibility, authority, or revenue from their show. And honestly, I think it's because most podcast advice is still far too focused on downloads alone.I'm sharing why intentional strategy matters so much more than simply creating more content and how podcasters can start treating their show like a true business asset instead of another marketing task. I'm also pulling back the curtain on my new eight-week coaching program, Podcasting for Business, and exactly how we help podcasters connect the dots between their content and their business goals. In this episode, I cover:Why consistency alone is not enough for podcast growthThe role intentionality plays in business-focused podcastingHow strategic positioning can increase discoverability and authorityIf your podcast feels disconnected from your business growth, this episode will help you rethink the way you approach your show entirely.Find It Quickly: The secret to achieving real business growth from your podcast (2:02)What we focus on in Podcasting for Business (3:53)The first run of Podcasting for Business (6:21)Growth does not come from more episodes (8:21)Mentioned in this Episode:Podcasting for Business: gaffincreative.com/coachingPrivate podcast series: gaffincreative.com/privatepodAli Haney's Brand and Market Podcast: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-brand-market-podcastConnect with Haylee:Podcasting for Business: gaffincreative.com/coachingInstagram: instagram.com/hayleegaffinWebsite: gaffincreative.comReview the Transcript: https://share.descript.com/view/GobXjmY4GfzPodcasting for Business Program is now taking applications! Send us a note about this episode. We'll reply and thank you on a future episodeEvery PR professional has sat in a meeting where leaders ask you to “show up in AI”Here's the problem. The AEO/GEO industry has built an entire measurement apparatus around citations… the moment an AI visibly names your brand. But the research shows that moment is essentially an echo of a decision that was already made, upstream, in conversations that left no trace. Brands have been optimizing for the receipt, when the purchase decision happened days ago.The deeper irony is that the work which does move the needle in those invisible conversations looks exactly like what PR teams have always done. Original research. Expert voice. Earned credibility. Third-party validation. The toolkit that has historically been the hardest to attribute is, it turns out, the one doing the most work in the AI era. Send us a note about this episode. We'll reply and thank you on a future episodeThere is a prayer that crisis communicators have been quoting for decades. “Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”It sounds right. It feels grounding. But maybe it's been pointing us in the wrong direction the whole time. The problem is the concept of CONTROL. Because control, in a crisis, is a myth. And every strategy built on the assumption that you can control the outcome of a crisis is a strategy built on sand. Let's replace that idea with INFLUENCE. Doing that replaces an entire philosophy.Alongside that shift comes something more uncomfortable… the suggestion that when a crisis hits, the quality of your advice has almost nothing to do with your frameworks, your playbook, or your years of experience. It has to do with who you are as a human being. As a parent. As a citizen. As a person who is also living through the same world your client is trying to navigate. The professional and the person are not separate. And pretending they are, may be the most dangerous crisis communication strategy of all. You can feel yourself changing. And not everybody around you is comfortable with the version of you that is finally waking up.In this deeply honest and emotional conversation, Stacey Brown and I explore what really happens when healing changes your personality, your energy, your relationships, and the way you move through the world.Healing is often spoken about like it is peaceful and beautiful. But the reality is that healing can feel uncomfortable, isolating, and deeply confronting. The more you heal, the harder it becomes to abandon yourself just to keep other people comfortable. We talk openly about boundaries, emotional growth, changing friendships, family dynamics, romantic relationships, and the difficult truth that sometimes people only loved the version of you that kept betraying yourself for them. This episode is about reclaiming your voice, honoring your nervous system, trusting your intuition, and allowing yourself to evolve — even when the people around you do not fully understand the version of you you're becoming. If you've been feeling different lately… quieter, more aware, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from old versions of yourself, or aware that you no longer fit where you used to belong, this conversation is for you.Towards the end of the episode, we also reflect on the powerful poem The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer — a reminder of what it truly means to live authentically, love deeply, and stop hiding who you are.Key Themes✨ How healing changes your personality and identity ✨ Why boundaries become necessary during spiritual growth ✨ The impact healing has on relationships and family dynamics ✨ Learning to stay true to yourself without shrinkingTakeaways✨ Healing changes how you tolerate energy and relationships ✨ You are allowed to outgrow old versions of yourself ✨ Boundaries are self-respect, not punishment ✨ The people meant for your journey will evolve with youSound Bites✨ How has healing changed your personality? ✨ Why would you want to stop others from growing? ✨ Disappointing others to stay true to yourself ✨ The healed version of you cannot live the old life anymore ✨ You stop reacting and start respondingAlso available to watch on YouTube If this episode resonates, please like, comment, and follow the podcastConnect with Nimesh

The table is full, the voices are loud, and somewhere between the agenda and the first agenda item, you go quiet. Not because you don't know what to say. Why do some neighborhoods suddenly explode in value while others stay stuck for years?
You can do all the healing work and still feel stuck. That does not mean you are failing. It may mean you are trying to force something your soul is not ready to move through yet.In this solo episode, I share a grounded and honest reflection on divine timing, aligned action, self-care, and the uncomfortable space between who you have been and who you are becoming. So many people are feeling this right now. You have healed. You have released. You have done the inner work. But the next chapter still does not feel fully here. This episode is a reminder that forcing outcomes can create more resistance, and sometimes the deepest movement begins when you stop chasing and start listening.I talk about trusting your intuition over fear, learning to feel the difference between aligned action and pressure, connecting with your guides, and allowing your self-care to become the foundation for your next phase. This is not about doing nothing. It is about taking the right actions from the right energy.Because your soul cannot be forced. And what is delayed may still be being created for you.Key Themes✨ Why forcing outcomes can block your next level of growth✨ How to recognise aligned action versus fear-led pressure✨ Why self-care is essential during spiritual transformation✨ Connecting with your guides and Akashic Records for deeper trustTakeaways✨ You are not behind just because something has not arrived yet✨ Delay does not always mean denial✨ Your body and intuition often know before your mind does✨ The next chapter may require you to release old expectationsSound Bites✨ Every decision is a learning curve✨ Trust your intuition over fear✨ Your soul does not have a religion✨ You cannot force your soul✨ Stop chasing and start listeningAlso available to watch on YouTube If this episode resonates, please like, comment, and follow the podcastConnect with Nimesh✨ Email: nims@nimesh-radia.com✨ Website: https://nimesh-radia.com✨ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nimesh.radia✨ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nimesh.radia✨ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/nimesh-radia✨ Book a Discovery Call: https://calendly.com/spiritualjourney/30min✨ Book an Akashic Record Reading: https://calendly.com/spiritualjourney/akashic-record-reading✨ Spiritual Journey Membership: https://nimesh-radia.com/spiritual-membership/✨ Spiritual MentorshipMy 14-week Spiritual Mentorship is currently available for the price of 12 weeks and includes Akashic Record Training. In this episode of Predictable B2B Growth, Javier breaks down Adidas' Backyard Legends World Cup campaign and explains why this 5-minute ad is a masterclass in storytelling, positioning, attention, and brand-building.The campaign features Timothée Chalamet, Lionel Messi, Bad Bunny, Lamine Yamal, Jude Bellingham, Trinity Rodman, David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, and Alessandro Del Piero. But the reason it works is not because Adidas stacked the ad with celebrities. It works because Adidas built a legend.A rumor. An undefeated local crew.A guide.A challenger team.Nostalgia.Stakes.Cultural relevance. And a story people immediately want to repeat.Javier connects the Adidas campaign back to a bigger problem in B2B marketing: too many companies position themselves as the hero. They talk about their product, their website, their team, their features, and their company updates — while the customer gets pushed to the side. The best brands do the opposite. They make the customer the hero. They become the guide. They create stakes. They build belief. They tell a story the market wants to carry for them.In this episode, Javier covers:How Adidas used rumors and folklore to create instant attentionWhy Timothée Chalamet works as the guide, not the heroHow the local crew became more interesting than the global celebritiesWhy nostalgia only works when it serves the storyWhat B2B brands can learn from Adidas about positioning and narrativeWhy long-form content works when the story earns the audience's timeHow to make your product feel natural inside the customer's worldWhy the strongest brands create belief, not just awarenessIf you're a founder, marketer, revenue leader, or B2B executive trying to build a brand people remember, this episode is a reminder that great marketing still comes down to one thing:A great story, told well.Send us Fan Mail Thanks for listening to Predictable B2B Growth.Want predictable pipeline (not random acts of marketing)? You can tell them they're wrong, which will end the conversation and cost you the relationship. Or you can find the thing they want more than being right and take them there instead. This is something most communications professionals learn the hard way and never quite put into words. Every difficult client, every resistant leader, every person digging into a position that will hurt them, they are not just wrong. They are running two competing motivations at the same time. Nothing is working… and you're running out of patience. You're taking action. You're trying everything. And still… nothing is shifting. No momentum. No clarity. No breakthrough. At some point, it stops feeling spiritual… and starts feeling frustrating, even scary. This is the part no one talks about. You've outgrown your old life… but your new one hasn't arrived yet. This is the void. And if you don't understand this phase, you'll either force something that isn't aligned… or shut down completely. In this episode, I break down what's actually happening beneath the surface — why action feels blocked, why timelines aren't landing, and why this phase is not here to test you… it's here to prepare you.We go deep into the real tension you're feeling right now — between your human need for certainty and your soul's demand for trust.I also share how to move forward when you still have real responsibilities, real pressure, and can't just sit and wait. This isn't about doing more. It's about becoming someone new… before your reality catches up.Key Themes✨ The void as a sacred recalibration, not a pause✨ Why forcing action is creating more resistance✨ The real tension between ego control and soul trust✨ Releasing identity, timelines, and old energetic patternsTakeaways✨ You're not stuck — you're between timelines✨ Not all action is aligned — energy matters more than effort✨ This phase is building you, not blocking you✨ You can move forward without needing certaintySound Bites✨ Your soul has worked lifetimes to be here✨ Nothing is working because you're not meant to be who you were✨ You're not being denied — you're being redirected✨ The void is not empty — it's sacred✨ Less action, deeper alignmentAlso available to watch on YouTubeIf this episode resonates, please like, comment, and follow the podcastConnect with Nimesh✨ Email: nims@nimesh-radia.com✨ Website: https://nimesh-radia.com✨ Discovery Call: https://calendly.com/spiritualjourney/30min✨ Akashic Record Reading: https://calendly.com/spiritualjourney/akashic-record-reading✨ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nimesh.radia ✨ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nimesh.radia ✨ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/nimesh-radiaUpcoming Event✨ Soul Spa Retreat — Glastonbury (June 5–8, 2026) A deep reset for your soul through guided meditation, healing, and connection https://nimesh-radia.com/soul-spa-retreat/✨ Full Moon Webinar ✨ Sunday 31st May ✨ 9pm UK | 4pm EST ✨ Live energy update, guided meditation, and collective Akashic Records message ✨ Free to join ✨ Register here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/BemyIHczQ1uxG0jzFBE0pgSpiritual Journey Membership✨ A safe space for real conversations, not surface-level spirituality ✨ Monthly live calls, energy updates, guided meditations, and community ✨ Built for people navigating real change, not just talking about ithttps://nimesh-radia.com/spiritual-membership/This podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Podtrac - https://analytics.podtrac.com/privacy-policy-gdrp

Send us a note about this episode. We'll reply and thank you on a future episode50 percent. That's how much of the global population now trusts generative AI when searching for information about companies and brands. More than Instagram. More than Facebook. More than social media in general. And that number climbed 7 points in a single year. The data comes from the Page Society's annual Harris Poll study. 14 countries, more than 15,000 people surveyed in December 2025. Consumers aren't just using AI more. They're believing it more. And most of them aren't clicking through to the source. They're reading the AI answer and moving on. For communicators, this changes the job. It's no longer enough to optimize for search engines, you now need to optimize for the AI that sits on top of them. What does generative AI say when someone types in your brand name? Is it accurate? Is it current? Or is it surfacing something you said or did 20 years ago that no longer represents who you are? In this episode of Predictable B2B Growth, Javier sits down with Nick Turner, CEO of Dreamdata, to break down what it really takes to build predictable growth in today's B2B landscape.Nick shares lessons from leading Dreamdata through a $55M Series B raise, including why focus—not expansion—is the key to scaling, and the metrics that actually matter to investors: growth rate, gross retention, and burn efficiency. They also dive into the reality behind AI hype, why most companies misunderstand its role in go-to-market, and how businesses should think about delivering real customer value instead of chasing buzzwords. The conversation explores the growing importance of brand, the long B2B buying cycle, and why over-reliance on short-term demand generation can quietly kill pipeline. Nick also challenges how sales and marketing teams use automation, emphasizing that while marketers can scale communication, sales still depends on genuine human interaction. At its core, this episode is about cutting through noise—focusing on the right customers, solving real problems, and building a growth engine that's actually sustainable.Key Topics and TakeawaysFundraising strategies for Series BThe role of AI in SaaS growthImportance of customer feedback and focusPredictability in growth metrics is crucial for Series B success.AI is a tool to deliver value, not a buzzword to chase.Focus on a specific market segment to dominate before expanding.Listening to customers is the most reliable way to build products.Chapters00:00 Introduction to Nick Turner and Dream Data01:51 Fundraising Journey and Predictability Metrics04:47 The Role of AI in Business07:55 Listening to Customers and Market Feedback11:20 Navigating Investor Conversations13:11 Defining Predictable Growth16:27 Focus and Market Positioning20:37 Metrics for Success and Burn Multiple22:44 The 30-Day Blackout Challenge23:45 The Sales Cycle and Brand Awareness26:34 Marketing and Sales Alignment29:43 The Evolving Role of Sales32:43 AI in Marketing vs. Sales39:23 Customer-Centric Growth StrategiesResources & LinksDream Data - https://dreamdata.ioNick Turner LinkedIn - https://linkedin.com/in/nickturnerChet Holmes - The Ultimate Sales Machine - https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Sales-Machine-Target-Profits/dp/1591842158Send us Fan Mail Thanks for listening to Predictable B2B Growth.Want predictable pipeline (not random acts of marketing)? Send us a note about this episode. We'll reply and thank you on a future episodeYour Organisation says it's aligned. It probably isn't.And the problem starts at the top.Zora Artis and Wayne Aspland have spent 7 years studying the gap between what leadership teams say they're doing and what's actually happening inside organizations. And their findings are uncomfortable. In their latest global study, drawing on interviews with 55 CEOs and senior executives across five continents, they found that leaders routinely leave strategy meetings carrying completely different understandings of the direction they just agreed on. Nobody admits it. And communications professionals get handed the impossible job of aligning everyone else around a strategy the leadership team hasn't genuinely aligned on themselves. In this episode, we break down why the gap has barely moved in seven years, what's actually driving it, and what communications professionals are uniquely positioned to do about it. In this episode of Predictable B2B Growth, Javier sits down with sales leader and advisor Michael Muhlfelder to unpack what's really breaking modern revenue teams. They dive into why AI and automation are accelerating bad sales processes instead of fixing them, and why most teams are still missing the fundamentals—especially when it comes to qualification, signal detection, and true buyer understanding.Michael shares hard-earned lessons from decades in sales leadership, including the concept of moving from “pain” to “untenable” moments in buying decisions, why experience still matters in an AI-driven world, and how companies are unknowingly creating churn by ignoring customer signals. This is a straight talk conversation about getting back to what actually drives revenue: strong process, human connection, and disciplined execution—before layering in technology.Key TopicsThe evolution of sales from manual to automated processesThe importance of experience over age in leadershipDistinguishing between speed and process problems in AI adoptionThe role of signals in customer retention and churnThe significance of human-to-human connection in salesChapters00:00 Introduction to Sales Methodology03:34 Michael's Sales Journey06:45 The Concept of Sales as a Service09:30 Navigating the Chaos of Sales12:36 AI's Impact on Sales Processes15:34 The Importance of Qualification in Sales18:33 Reconnecting with the Human Element in Sales21:37 Understanding Pain Points and Financial Implications24:35 The Role of Senior Executives in Sales27:37 Closing Thoughts on Sales and Marketing Alignment27:56 Aligning Marketing and Sales for Revenue Success30:41 The Importance of Focus in Business32:39 The Role of AI in Customer Experience39:29 Understanding Customer Signals to Prevent Churn42:40 The Value of Experience in Business Leadership52:33 The Human Element in AI and BusinessResourcesThree Takes on AI Podcast - https://www.threetakesonai.com/podcastCalm Oceans Sales - https://calmoceansales.comMichael Muhlfelder on LinkedIn - https://linkedin.com/in/michaelmuhlfelderSend us Fan Mail Thanks for listening to Predictable B2B Growth.Want predictable pipeline (not random acts of marketing)? Send us a note about this episode. We'll reply and thank you on a future episodeEvery comms professional knows the playbook. A crisis hits, you move fast. Holding statement, talking points, media plan, stakeholder map. You do it well because you've trained for it. You bring the plan to the CEO expecting alignment and instead you get a polite nod and silence. Not pushback. Not disagreement. Just silence. And that silence is worse than any argument because it means the CEO has already stopped listening. Not because your plan was bad, but because it was solving a problem they weren't thinking about. This is the gap that quietly erodes the comms function's credibility in organizations everywhere. Communicators are passionate people. That passion is their greatest asset, until it becomes a bias that pulls them toward issues that feel urgent but aren't connected to the core business. And when that happens enough times, the CEO doesn't fire you. They just stop inviting you into the room.
