Under Secretary Quinn is the top person in the National Cemeteries Administration and he shared the importance of preregistration in order to even things out at the time of death. He spoke on many issues important to veterans and their families but the Veterans Legacy Program was dear to his hart, The VA now has a program where friend and relatives, at no charge, can leave pictures and messages to the family. All in all he was an inspiring speaker.

Our first episode – Getting Into Product Design – is a discussion with Matthew Quinn, principal of Atlanta-based Design Galleria Kitchen & Bath Studio, where he shares his advice on an interior designer getting involved in product design, which he has been doing for a little over 10 years.

Matthew Quinn provides community relations for Rosecrance Health Network in the Chicagoland area. Rosecrance is a non-profit treatment agency that focuses on treatment for substance abuse disorders for both teens and adults. He completed his Bachelor's Degree in psychology at the University of Notre Dame and Master's Degree in clinical psychology at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Matthew is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) in Illinois. He was the program coordinator for an adolescent Intensive outpatient Program (IOP) for eight years prior to coming to Rosecrance five years ago. He has been a therapeutic mentor for troubled teens and counseled adolescents and adults in individual, couples, and family counseling for the past 15 years.

There are a couple of effective jump starts, but for the most part, this is a slow dread of an episode. Inger Stevens stars as 27-year-old Nan Adams, driving cross-country. Emerging unscathed from a blown-out tire (“By rights . . . somebody should have called for a hearse,” a mechanic tells her), she is haunted by a seemingly omnipresent hitchhiker. You can probably guess where this one's heading, but like the “shabby, silly-looking scarecrow man” himself, this episode is hard to shake. “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street" “We are in a time where we fear the other,” Jordan Peele told his audience following the premiere screening of Us at South by Southwest. “Maybe the monster that we're looking at has our face.” This was a recurring theme on The Twilight Zone—and it reached its bleakest apotheosis in this first-season nightmare, in which an idyllic suburban street runs riot from a creeping paranoia that pits neighbor against neighbor. “For the record,” Serling intones at the episode's end, “prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy . . . and the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to the ‘Twilight Zone.'” It's like Serling was looking right into our souls.
