Have you ever felt the desire to explore songwriting as a creative outlet? Whether you are just playing with the idea, wondering where to begin, or you've got notebooks full of songs and you're wondering what to do with this treasure trove of ideas, you're sure to find something of value in today's episode. I went on a little bit of a journey here, sharing my story of the pivot I made over a decade ago, when I stepped away from the opera profession and shifted to writing and singing my own songs... So much of a journey that I decided to break this episode into 2 parts, with part 2 going deeper into what YOU need when you're getting started with exploring songwriting as a creative outlet. So stay tuned! In part 1, I talk about why I felt called away from the well-trodden operatic path and into the wilderness of blazing my own trail as I began writing my own music and rediscovering my voice through songwriting. I pray that hearing my story will ignite some spark of inspiration in you to follow your inner voice, follow your heart, and answer the calling that's leading you to find your own artistic voice... so you can experience the joy and freedom of expressing yourself through your voice ~ in your own words, with your own stories, your own melodies, in your own creative style.
In this episode, I'm sharing the real story behind how I turned my blog into a profitable business — and the deeper truth God recently revealed to me: I've been asking Him to bless my business, without actually building it with Him. I open up about my early struggles with affiliate marketing and ads, the mindset shift that led to Boss Lady Bloggers, and why I'm no longer separating God from business. If you're tired of treating your blog like a hobby and ready to build with strategy and purpose — this one's for you.◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️✨ Build a Profitable Blog Business — Start Here

Today is a special episode because, after five years, this podcast is ending. You'll hear why in this episode. Debbie and her husband, Sam Harrington, talk about why it's time for a finale, about getting old, about legacy (and how it's different for the two of them, right now), about their life during the past decade, how it's changing even now (they're both 72), and about what lies ahead, at least creatively. Frankly, Debbie doesn't sound very happy in this episode, but that's because this has been a hard decision. Debbie thinks it's the right one; Sam needs convincing. Episode Summary:An engaging, lighthearted but deep conversation with philosopher Nate Klemp about his new book, 'Open: Living with an Expansive Mind in a Distracted World' which explores cultivating spaciousness in order to access the deep well of peace and creativity within our minds. This episode serves as a thought-provoking exploration of inner spaciousness and the art of discernment in our daily lives, offering listeners practical insights and inspiration for their own journeys of self-discovery and creative expression.Nate is a New York Times bestselling author, philosopher, and founding partner at Mindful magazine. His journey from academia to exploring philosophy as a way of life led him to co-found Mindful magazine and author several impactful books. I'll admit, I was nervous to speak with Nate, but his down-to-earth nature quickly put me at ease. "Open" isn't just a book; it's a journey Nate invites us to embark on, exploring inner spaciousness in a distracted world. What's Good Dimah Fam! There's something truly special about finding your own creative outlet. It's like uncovering a hidden treasure within yourself. Imagine this: you're going through the motions of everyday life, with its work, chores, and routines. It can feel like you're just ticking boxes, right? But then, you stumble upon this activity - be it painting, writing, cooking, or even gardening - and suddenly, there's a spark. This spark, it's more than just a hobby. It's a gateway to a whole new realm, a world where time melts away and your imagination runs free. It's like stepping into a universe where the usual rules don't apply, and you're the creator of your own experience. It's exhilarating, isn't it? That sense of "what's out there?" that pushes you to explore further, to see what you can create. It's not just about making something; it's about the journey, the exploration of your own depths. But here's the thing: it's not always sunshine and rainbows. Just like anything worth doing, creative endeavors have their ups and downs. There'll be days when ideas flow like a river, and then there'll be times when you hit a wall. This infamous "writer's block" or its equivalent in any creative field. It feels like you're stuck, and everything you create just doesn't feel right. It's frustrating, I know. But you know what? These challenging times are part of the journey. They test your resolve, your passion. It's in these moments that you learn the most about yourself. And remember, it's not about being perfect or creating masterpieces every time. It's about expressing yourself, exploring new ideas, and most importantly, enjoying the process. So, when you find that thing, that creative outlet that ignites a fire in your soul, cherish it. Nurture it. There will be highs, there will be lows, but the key is to keep pushing through. Keep seeking that creative spark. Because at the end of the day, it's this journey of creation that brings true happiness and fulfillment. It's not just about what you create; it's about the act of creating itself. That's the real magic. Thanks for listening!

Julia Ling is an accomplished actress, dancer, producer, and a Marine Corps veteran. Hiram Murray is an accomplished actor and also a Marine Corps veteran. Together they are unstoppable! Their recent project is Veteran Powered Films a production company whose mission is to empower veterans and servicemembers to create and tell their stories through film. When military servicemen and women leave the service, they can experience a difficult transition back to civilian life. They leave behind a community and brother/sisterhood that supported them through difficult times. Veteran Powered Films aims to provide a sense of purpose and community through films made by veterans for everyone! One thing every veteran can agree on is that Hollywood usually gets it wrong when telling stories about veterans. Hiram and Julia are driven to provide the most authentic portrayal of veterans on film because they both feel responsible for the image of what a veteran is. After their successful short-film TANGO DOWN, they've started work on a full-length feature film Homestead. A new trailer of which is linked below. Ever felt like your wheels are spinning out or feel like you are chasing the rat race? Here is what Harry Stone has to say for an intro, and so excited to have him on the Careers in Review Podcast talking about how to find meaning beyond your 9-5. You may ask yourself, how did a mortgage underwriter from Florida become a recruiter at some of the best companies in the world? While pinching myself, I too ask that question, and the answer is through hard work, networking, and a little bit of luck.As a graduate of JPMorgan Chase's Mortgage Banking Credit Program, I started my career working in a highly regulated, fast-paced, and analytical environment. Since then, I've applied my business acumen to the human capital space, and have loved it ever since. With a diverse skillset, I've worked in-house on full-cycle, executive search, and sourcing teams, hiring for various functions around the world. My passion lies in leading and building new teams, and I've been lucky enough to do so at JPMC, Google, WeWork, and TikTok.I have experience leading diversity recruiting events and thrive in driving cultural change through an organization. I'm a die-hard Florida State Seminole fan, concertgoer, and content creator, and look forward to connecting with other LinkedIn users.Connect with HarryConnect with Eddiana

Penelope Spheeris is a film director, producer and screenwriter. She directed all 3 of "The Decline of Western Civilization" with a 4th one on the way. Welcome to another episode of the SpEd Prep Academy Podcast: "The Power of a Creative Outlet for Special Educators". In this solo episode, I delve into the dynamic world of special education and the integral role that creativity plays within it. We've all felt a bit like Batman, the steadfast, highly skilled superhero always ready to face the complex challenges of the classroom, but we can't forget about our own personal Robin- that refreshing perspective, solace, and sometimes much-needed comic relief.Join me on a journey as I share about how I pulled myself out of a dark time within my career, found the Robin to my Batman and how having a creative sidekick might be the spark YOU need to overcome the stressful feelings that come with being a special educator.Listen in to learn:The unique challenges faced by special education teachers, which include high levels of stress and the risk of burnoutThe importance of having a creative outlet to mitigate these challenges, provide balance, and enhance personal and professional skillsWhy special education teachers have innate creativity, which stems from the need to cater to diverse learner needs, devise individualized education plans, keep students engaged, and solve unique problems.Potential creative options for special educators to engage in outside of the classroom, such as writing, artistic pursuits, crafting, gardening, cooking, music, and more.We all need our own personal 'Robin' to balance the 'Batman' within us. As we continue to face the challenges of the special education classroom, let's remember to also cultivate the human side of us and focus on our passions and hobbies outside of those 4 walls of a school. This not only benefits us personally but also contributes to our effectiveness and resilience as educators. If you are ready (or even just curious) about opening a TPT store but are unsure of where to start, Kamryn Shea VA can help.Book a FREE consult call and my daughter and I will give you all the details about how to get started selling today!Get the Writing IEP Impact Statements GROWING BUNDLE! and become a rockstar at crafting the perfect impact statements for your students today! I got to spend a lunch break with Ha Mai, the mind, soul, and heart behind the brand Fur Face Boy. A highly attentive-to-detail T-shirt brand representing Ha's loves, pop culture, and all of the quirkiness in between! I spoke to Ha about how Fur Face Boy came about and why he started it back in 2009. We spoke about how he came up with the name. We spoke about the journey the brand and he has made these past 14 years and the different versions of the brand. We spoke about the difference between when he started (MySpace and the beginning of the Twitter era and social) to bring the brand back now. We spoke about the advice he gave me in 2010 and how it still translates now. Was awesome to catch up with Ha and great to see Fur Face Boy. Check out the Collab shirt on TheFurFaceBoy.com where all proceeds of the sale will go to 2nd Harvest Food Bank. Episode #637 Is it important for all men to have a creative outlet? Most men haven't bothered to cultivate a creative outlet. But if you want to live a life of fulfillment and freedom, to express yourself and be who you are, then you must have a creative outlet. Start by figuring out what would be a creative outlet for you. Something that inspires you to express yourself and something that can fill you up when you do it. If you don't have that creative outlet, you start to bottle yourself up and play a little bit smaller in your relationships Your wife, your kids, your family...everyone in your life will get less of you. If you lack a creative outlet, it can leave you feeling a little more empty at home, and that shifts you from being the alpha to becoming a beta. Slowly but surely, you lose your power. In this episode, we are going to go into detail about the importance of having a creative outlet, and how to find out what your creative outlet can be. __________ Hungry for more?
