La nicaragüense Sheynnis Palacios, Miss Universo 2023, visitará Costa Rica el próximo 27 de febrero junto a una comitiva de la franquicia del concurso. Será su primera visita a un país centroamericano después de su triunfo en el certamen en noviembre pasado. La visita de Palacios a Costa Rica es organizada por el canal de televisión OPA, que indicó este jueves en un comunicado que el evento tiene como fin "celebrar la belleza, la diversidad y el empoderamiento femenino en la región centroamericana". Además resaltaron que su visita “marca un hito especial para la región y en particular para la comunidad nicaragüense en Costa Rica”. Palacios es la reina de belleza mundial que más tiempo ha tardado en regresar a su país. La joven cumplió más de tres meses de haber ganado la corona, y todavía no hay indicios de que vaya a volver a Nicaragua, donde el régimen de Daniel Ortega y Rosario Murillo criminalizó a la organización Miss Nicaragua. Sheynnis Palacios, Miss Universo 2023, agradeció públicamente este miércoles a Karen Celebertti por todo el tiempo que trabajaron juntas desde que fue coronada como Miss Nicaragua hasta su preparación previa al certamen de belleza mundial de Miss Universo en El Salvador. La publicación de Palacios se da dos días después que Karen Celebertti anunciara su retiro y renuncia a la franquicia de Miss Universo en Nicaragua, después que la dictadura la desterró y criminalizó junto a su familia, acusándola de “Traición a la patria”. El régimen atacó a la familia de Celebertti después que el triunfo de Palacios provocara un estallido de alegría de miles de nicaragüenses que salieron a las calles a celebrar con la bandera nacional, desafiando el estado policial impuesto por más de cinco años.

La directora de la franquicia de Miss Universo en Nicaragua, Karen Celebertti, se pronunció por primera vez en las redes sociales, después de haber sido desterrada y criminalizada junto a su familia por la dictadura nicaragüense, tras el triunfo de Sheynnis Palacios como Miss Universo 2023.  En su cuenta de Instagram destacó su recorrido y trabajo en Miss Nicaragua por más de dos décadas, y también anunció su renuncia y retiro de la franquicia del más importante certamen de belleza mundial.  En su publicación de redes sociales, Celebertti aseguró que siempre enalteció el nombre del país sin ningún tipo de sesgo, limpio de arraigos políticos, sin discriminar por raza, religión o región geográfica”.  La dictadura acusó a Celebertti, a su esposo Martín Arguello, y a su hijo, Bernardo Arguello, de un rosario de delitos, entre ellos traición a la patria, después que el triunfo de Palacios provocara un estallido de alegría de miles de nicaragüenses que salieron a las calles a celebrar con la bandera nacional, desafiando el estado policial impuesto por más de cinco años.

Leslie At Large | Episode 10: So where did the road take Leslie this time? With her radio turned up, she took off for a quick solo overnight trip to Managua. Leslie At Large | Episode 6: This week Leslie shares about her experiences and the lessons learned this past weekend.  She dusted off her old pageant crown and enjoyed spending the day with the Miss Nicaragua candidates while they were doing a photoshoot on the beautiful beaches at Gran Pacifica.  Being a former pageant girl, Leslie enjoyed getting to know these young women…they were all amazing and beautiful in their own way. After hanging with the girls, it was time to bring out the cowboy hat and boots, and get back to her Texas roots. It's rodeo time in Nicaragua.  We loaded up some of the residents from Gran Pacifica, and off we went to Villa El Carmen to watch some bull riding. While sitting in the bleachers, and just observing the men, women, and children, it always brings a smile to my face. The simplicity of life and the reminder that we are all the same.
