Heud du i wieder fränggln. Awer - un des hab i scho a boarmål bewiesn - s gehd a ohne Grand. Dann nacherd hald a weng filosofisch. Mei Deema is Geduld. Könnd "se männie scheids of Geduld" sei. Weil s gibbd dodål unnerschiedliche, sozumsåchn fassd scho audodynamische Endwigglungen in Gschbrächn. Zum Beisbiel grichd wer was nein falschn Hals und is nacherd dodål aggressief. Da gibbds sicher a boar unnerschiedliche, möchliche Ursåchn. Gloar. Vielleichd gibbds da a meddafüsische Gründ oder esodärische. Gibbds a ann widzichn Beidråch üwer mein Füsio und mei Ergoderabeudin. Odder besser gsåchd sogar mid denne. Awer zurügg zum Deema. Geduld. A weng jednfalls. Also Geduld mid Zeuch, wo ich nix dran ändern kå. Wirglich ned mei Kernkombedenz. Immer noch ned. Awer immerhin a weng. Weilers hald eigsehn hadd. Un dass des a Seechn is. Is gewissermaßn a Seechn. Bassierd mir a immer widder. In dem Fall zum Beischbiel a a fehlgeleidede Schbielård vo derre Geduld. Also Arbeidsfordschridd oder Erfolg, wemmer so sach will. Zegg mich richdichgehend fesd. Und ned blos Schdundn, sonnern a üwer Jåhre und Jåhrzehnde. Des is awer a widder a annere Abård von Geduld. Was dudn der Dudn sach? Ädümmologisch kommd des Word üwer Umweeche vom ladeinischn "tolerare", also doleriern. Also doch a Duchnd. Hmm warum dun mir nacherd so viele neggadiefe Asbeggdli eifall? Und vielleichd hadds bei euch ja a a Üwerleechung åschdoß gekönnd. Is a inneressands Deema. Müssd mer a amål n Bied dazu befraach. Der wäss da beschdimmd was... Für heud reichds mir ersd amål, dass ich da a Deema draus hab mach gekönnd, was zumindesd subjeggdief zimmlich inneressand is. All Home Care Matters and our host, Lance A. Slatton were honored to welcome Alder Allensworth & Brenda Freed the founders of Mackenzie Meets Alzheimer's Program (MMAP) as guests to the show.   About Mackenzie Meets Alzheimer's Program (MMAP):   The Mackenzie Meets Alzheimer's Program (MMAP) is a family-centered, multimedia educational program designed to help parents, children, educators, and healthcare professionals navigate the challenges of Alzheimer's disease.   Created especially for families in the "sandwich generation," it provides practical tools, guidance, and meaningful activities that support positive interactions between children and loved ones living with Alzheimer's from diagnosis through the severe stage. The program helps children and their families stay meaningfully connected throughout the journey.   At the heart of the program is the Mackenzie Meets Alzheimer's Awareness Program (MMAAP), a 5-video educational series covering each stage of the disease, along with guidance for adults raising children while caregiving. The program also includes a quick reference guide, transcripts, and accessible audio and visual resources to support a wide range of learning needs.   Importantly, the MMAAP helps children understand Alzheimer's in age-appropriate ways and gives them simple, meaningful activities they can do with their loved one to maintain connection and nurture the relationship.   Complementing the video series is the Mackenzie Meets Alzheimer's Disease Picture Book, a gentle, child-friendly introduction to Alzheimer's. The book follows a young girl learning how to understand and connect with her grandmother as the disease progresses. It includes a QR code for a free Story Song download whose lyrics are the text for the book—making the learning experience engaging, memorable, and accessible for young children and early readers.   The complete MMAP is also a valuable resource for Adult Day Centers and Memory Care Communities, offering a ready-to-run educational program for families. It helps answer common questions proactively, reducing the need for staff to repeatedly provide the same explanations. This allows them to focus more on care and connection.   Together, the program and book go beyond education—they empower families to create meaningful moments, maintain connection, and build positive memories throughout the course of Alzheimer's and other dementias.   Official Website: https://www.mackenziemeetsalzheimers.com

What does it truly mean to rewild yourself? In this powerful, impactful episode, I had a conversation with Jesse Wolf Hardin, an American author, activist, musician, artist, herbalist, and wilderness guide to explore the concept of ''rewilding". This conversation goes far beyond ecology. It's an invitation to remember that we are not separate from nature. We are nature. In this episode, Jeremy Alder shares his unique journey from being homeschooled in Texas to navigating college life and eventually finding his passion in stand-up comedy. He reflects on the impact of his strict religious upbringing and how it shaped his perspectives on culture and personal development. Episode 345Today we're joined by Jeff, a true pioneer from the wild, formative years of rock concert touring — what he calls the “pirate years.”Jeff recently published his book, How to Be a Lighting Guy (During the Pirate Years of Concert Touring), a firsthand account of building a career during the birth of modern concert lighting. From running liquid light shows in the early 1970s — including for Grand Funk before they were even Grand Funk Railroad — to experimenting with the first analog moving lights like the Cyklops, Jeff was there as the art and technology of live lighting were being invented in real time.He worked with Fantasee Lighting, pushed for the early R&D of computer-controlled moving lights with Morpheus Lights, and directed or designed lighting for legendary artists including Warren Zevon, Jimmy Buffett, Steve Miller Band, Huey Lewis and the News, Santana, Cyndi Lauper, Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, and Grand Funk — who fittingly bookended his career.Jeff's journey came to an unexpected halt in the mid-'90s due to a collapsed vertebrae, but his perspective on success, failure, and longevity is what truly defines his story. As he writes in the final line of his book:“Though I have a lot of memorabilia… learning how to succeed at a lifetime of losing was my biggest reward.”He's here to talk about how life on the road has changed, what it was like when concert touring had no rulebook, and why sometimes the greatest success doesn't look the way you expect. This episode is brought to you by Main Light and Artistry In Motion

The Christmas Tree With One LightSnow fell in soft, quiet sheets over the small town of Willow Glen, covering rooftops and porches with a gentle white blanket. Every house on Maple Street shimmered with lights—blue, gold, red, and green—each one competing to outshine the next.Every house… except one.At the corner of the street stood Mrs. Alder's home, dim and silent. No garland. No wreath. No warmth in the windows.Only a single, small Christmas tree sat by her front door—so simple, so worn, it looked like it belonged to a memory more than a season. And on that tree, barely hanging on, was one single working light.Children passing by would whisper,“Doesn't she know it's Christmas?”“Maybe she doesn't have family anymore.”“Maybe she doesn't care.”But young Daniel, age eleven, didn't just wonder—he worried. He remembered Mrs. Alder from before her husband passed. She used to bake cookies for the neighborhood kids and tell stories from when she was a teacher. But lately, she barely opened her door.Something inside Daniel tugged at him each time he saw that lonely tree. Finally, on Christmas Eve afternoon, he took action. He went door to door and asked his neighbors for “just one extra ornament,” nothing more. Some gave ribbons, others tiny bells, others a spare string of lights. One neighbor gave a silver star that had belonged to her parents.By evening, Daniel had filled a grocery bag with bits of Christmas from the whole community. He trudged through the snow to Mrs. Alder's home, heart thumping, and knocked. After a long pause, the door opened a crack. Her eyes softened when she saw him.“Daniel? Is everything alright?”He held out the bag.“We… um… we thought your tree could use a little help.”She looked puzzled. “My tree?”Daniel pointed to the tiny, drooping thing by her steps—the tree with only one faint light blinking like it was tired.Mrs. Alder blinked fast, and for a moment, Daniel thought she might close the door. Instead, she stepped outside into the cold, touched the tree gently, and whispered,“I bought this tree with my husband our very first Christmas. It's the last decoration we had together… I couldn't make myself replace it.”Daniel nodded. “You don't have to replace it. But maybe… we could help it shine again?”Mrs. Alder looked into the bag—at the ornaments, the ribbons, the star—and her chin trembled. She whispered,“Let's do it.”So they decorated the tree together. One neighbor, seeing them outside, stepped over and added a string of lights. Then another came with hot cocoa. Then another brought a blanket for Mrs. Alder's shoulders.Soon the entire street—families who had barely spoken all year—gathered around that tiny tree, each adding something of their own. When they plugged in the final strand of lights, the tree glowed brighter than any other on Maple Street. Not because it was the biggest, or the newest, or the fanciest——but because every piece of it was given with love.Mrs. Alder wiped her tears and said softly,“Thank you for helping me remember what Christmas really means.”And from behind Daniel, someone said,“No… thank you for letting us be part of it.”That night, the tree with one single struggling light became the tree that lit the entire neighborhood. How to connect with AgileDad:- [website] https://www.agiledad.com/- [instagram] https://www.instagram.com/agile_coach/- [facebook] https://www.facebook.com/RealAgileDad/- [Linkedin] https://www.linkedin.com/in/leehenson/

Jeremy Alder! Comedian! Ex-preacher! Almost A Grown Man! Friend! Delight! More! We have a great chat! You have a great listen! About Jeremy Alder: Homeschooled in the heart of Texas by fundamentalist missionary parents with a penchant for conspiracy theories, Jeremy's childhood was anything but conventional. Now married with children of his own, Jeremy's material delves into the trials and tribulations of growing up homeschooled, the complications of religion, the mysteries of marriage, the chaos of parenting, and the existential crisis of aging—all with a healthy dose of skepticism and silliness, dry wit and charm. Jeremy headlines comedy clubs and bars around the country and has opened for several nationally touring acts, including Demetri Martin, Russell Howard, Tom Papa, Aparna Nancherla, Nicole Byer, and Chad Daniels. He has been a featured performer at numerous comedy festivals, including Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, SF Sketchfest, Big Sky Comedy Festival (Best of Fest), Asheville Comedy Festival, and Cleveland Comedy Festival (Best of Fest). Jeremy's Dry Bar Comedy special, “Purity Pants”, has generated over 6 million across platforms. About his album "Almost A Grown Man": Jeremy Alder's debut comedy album Almost A Grown Man is out courtesy of Blonde Medicine. A ‘güero' born, raised and homeschooled in South Texas, Jeremy was steeped in a world of alternative facts and fervent beliefs and learned early on to find humor in life's absurdities. Alder started comedy 10 years ago and now he's got an autobiographical hour of jokes and stories about growing up weirdly religious and homeschooled in Texas, young marriage, remarriage, and fatherhood. Also, plenty of God, sex, drugs, and guns to keep it interesting.  The album was recorded in the historic small town of Hillsborough, North Carolina, where Jeremy lives. Said Alder, “I recorded the album at a bar around the corner from my house. There were a lot of locals there, including the mayor, as well as my wife and kids. It felt like a community event!” Jeremy went to seminary after college, where he developed a humorous and provocative preaching style that sometimes got him in trouble. When a personal crisis led him to stop preaching and going to church, he turned to standup. The comedy community quickly became his new spiritual home, which he will be the first to tell you, is not a good thing. Jeremy met label heads Dominic Del Bene and Jessica Mozes by coincidence outside a show and found another supportive community in Blonde Medicine. Almost a Grown Man will is available wherever comedy is heard. Thanks for listening! And this is only the first HALF of our conversation. A married woman in a poly relationship is planning to visit a boyfriend who lives in a different city for a month. But since they made these plans, she started seeing yet another man. Should she tell the guy she plans to visit about the new guy? Should she do it before the trip so he can pull the rip cord if he needs to? Can you peg your dom? She is a switch, so she knows both sides of the dom/sub dynamic. Her dom wants her to peg him, but she worries she'll slip into dom mode. Dan coaches her on how to stay submissive in her head. Our guest this week is Jeremy Alder. The former fundamentalist Christian pastor made a U-turn and became a comedian instead. Their loss is our gain- Alder is dryly funny, sweet and bold in the face unkind, hypocritical Christianity. He and Dan talk about the disaster of homeschooling, buying guns for loved ones, and having a slutty phase after leaving the church. And, a gay man has been getting together with a guy for 10 years in a casual, friends-with-benefits style arrangement. Nobody in his life knows about this relationship. But after 10 years, the guy is suddenly not responding to any of the caller's texts. Is this a cruel, cowardly break-up? Or much worse?
