Most practice owners think charity is something you do after the business is successful — once there's more time, more margin, or less stress. But what if giving back isn't the reward for success… what if it's the catalyst? In this episode of the Private Practice Owners Club Podcast, Nathan Shields sits down with longtime friend and entrepreneur Will Humphreys to unpack one of the most overlooked drivers of sustainable growth, culture, and fulfillment: building meaningful partnerships with charitable organizations. Drawing from deeply personal experiences — from local community initiatives to life-changing work in Africa — Will shares how aligning business purpose with charitable impact transformed not just his companies, but his leadership, his team culture, and his perspective on success itself. Together, they explore how generosity creates momentum inside organizations, why charitable partnerships improve recruiting and retention, and how purpose-driven businesses outperform those built purely around profit. They dive deep into:Why charitable giving isn't a “nice-to-have,” but a powerful leadership leverHow partnering with charities strengthens culture, retention, and recruitingThe connection between profit, purpose, and long-term sustainabilityHow even small, local initiatives can create outsized impactWhy giving back reshapes mindset, reduces burnout, and restores perspectiveHow involving your team in charitable efforts turns values into lived behaviorWhat practice owners can learn about leadership, resilience, and gratitude from global communities If you've ever felt burned out, disconnected, or stuck chasing growth without fulfillment, this conversation will challenge how you think about leadership, success, and the true role your business can play in the world.
“Internally, we've kind of moved from a model where kind of engineering kind of owned R&D, to a model where everyone is now in R&D” says Canva CTO Brendan Humphreys. On this episode of the Tech Disruptors podcast, Humphreys tells Bloomberg Intelligence senior technology analyst Anurag Rana how the web-native platform is expanding into the enterprise while leaning into AI, including a disciplined API layer to ship quickly, broad use of coding assistants with strict human-in-the-loop review and hiring for “AI-native” skills alongside companywide experimentation. Humphreys also covers how acquisitions like Affinity and Magic Brief fit the road map, and why compliance, governance and brand control are central as Canva targets 1,000-plus employee companies.
Top Stories for January 3rd Publish Date: January 3rd From the BG AD Group Studio Welcome to the Gwinnett Daily Post Podcast. Today is Saturday, January 3rd and Happy Birthday to John Paul Jones I’m Peyton Spurlock and here are your top stories presented by Gwinnett KIA Mall of Georgia. Gwinnett couple handcuffed at home after fake hostage call Why warming up your car on cold mornings might actually be hurting it Judge again pauses Georgia execution amid parole board conflict questions All of this and more is coming up on the Gwinnett Daily Post podcast, and if you are looking for community news, we encourage you to listen daily and subscribe! Break 1: Kia Mall of Georgia STORY 1: Gwinnett couple handcuffed at home after fake hostage call Christmas Eve turned into a nightmare for Fredis Mejia and his wife. One minute, they were watching a movie. The next? Police with guns and shields were storming their home on Sugar Mill Drive. Through his security cameras, he saw officers surrounding the house. Moments later, he was on the ground, handcuffed. His wife, terrified it was immigration officers, refused to open the door until neighbors convinced her. The reason? A fake 911 call claiming a woman was being held at gunpoint. The caller gave an address that doesn’t even exist—4051 Sugar Hill Court. Gwinnett police say they acted quickly, fearing someone’s life was in danger. But Mejia says they treated him and his wife like criminals. “No apology, nothing. They just left,” he said. Police now believe it was a “swatting” incident, where false reports trigger a heavy police response. It’s illegal, and those responsible could face serious charges. STORY 2: Why warming up your car on cold mornings might actually be hurting it We’ve all done it. It’s freezing outside, so you grab your coffee, throw on a coat, start the car, and let it idle while you finish getting ready. Feels like the right move, right? A warm car, defrosted windshield—what’s not to love? Well, here’s the thing: that old habit might actually be doing more harm than good. Back in the day, when cars had carburetors, warming up your engine was necessary. But modern engines? They don’t need it. In fact, idling too long can damage your engine. Fuel doesn’t fully evaporate in cold weather, which means it can wash away the oil that lubricates critical parts like pistons and cylinders. Less oil equals more wear and tear—and a shorter engine life. So, what’s the better move? Start your car, wait 30 seconds, and drive off gently. The motion warms the engine faster than idling ever could. And if your windshield’s iced over? Grab a scraper. Don’t just sit there waiting for the defroster to do all the work. Oh, and if you’re driving an EV, preheat it while it’s plugged in to save battery range. STORY 3: Judge again pauses Georgia execution amid parole board conflict questions A Georgia judge hit the brakes on Stacey Humphreys’ execution—again. Originally set for Dec. 17, the lethal injection was paused last-minute, and now Fulton County Judge Robert McBurney says there’s more to sort out. The issue? Possible conflicts of interest on the state parole board, which decides clemency. Humphreys’ lawyers argue two board members shouldn’t even be involved. One, Kimberly McCoy, was a victim advocate during his trial. The other, Wayne Bennett, was the sheriff overseeing security when the trial moved to Glynn County. “Pressing pause is the right move,” McBurney wrote, calling the concerns “non-frivolous.” Humphreys, 52, was convicted of killing two women in a Cobb County real estate office back in 2003. His defense team says he deserves a clemency hearing without potential bias. Both sides have until Jan. 19 to file more arguments. For now, the clock stops. We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.874.3200 for more info. We’ll be right back Break 2: Ingles Markets STORY 4: Virginia-Highland staple Murphy’s sold to father-son chef duo After 45 years, Murphy’s Restaurant, a Virginia-Highland institution, is changing hands—but not entirely leaving the family, in a way. Tom Murphy, who opened the beloved spot in 1980 as a Georgia State class project, has sold it to father-son chef duo Gregg and Matt McCarthy. They’ll officially take over on Jan. 5, 2026. The McCarthys are no strangers to Murphy’s. Gregg was executive chef from 2005 to 2009, and Matt joined as executive chef in 2023. “Murphy’s is more than a restaurant—it’s a cornerstone of this community,” they said. For decades, Murphy’s has been the go-to for brunch, wine tastings, and cozy dinners. And now, it’s ready for its next chapter. STORY 5: Historic Campbellton Park expands as development in South Fulton County continues Tucked along the Chattahoochee River, about 30 miles from Atlanta, lies the quiet, nature-filled city of Chattahoochee Hills. Mayor-elect Camille Lowe has big plans to make this hidden gem more accessible—without losing its charm. One of those big ideas? Expanding Campbellton Park from 18 acres to 95, thanks to a $2.5 million public-private effort led by the Trust for Public Land. Christine Hassell, who oversees capital projects for the Chattahoochee program, says the park is part of a larger vision: connecting one million people across 50 miles, from Atlanta to Alabama, through trails and river access. With new trails, birdwatching spots, and a rich history woven into the land, the park is already drawing visitors. And with MARTA’s bus rapid transit and local business revitalization underway, the area is poised for thoughtful growth. Break 3: GCPL Passport STORY 6: Teen accused of stealing thousands in East Cobb Venmo scam A 17-year-old is accused of pulling off a bold scam at a busy East Cobb intersection, tricking drivers into handing over thousands of dollars under the guise of collecting donations for a basketball team. Police say Antrez Jenkins stood at Johnson Ferry and Lower Roswell roads, asking for $1 donations. But when drivers opened payment apps like Venmo, he allegedly grabbed their phones and transferred much larger amounts before handing them back. One victim, Brenda Laskey, said it happened to her on Christmas Day. “He was messing with my phone, and I grabbed his and said, ‘Give me my phone back now!’” she recalled. When she got home, she discovered $2,000 had been drained from her account. Laskey immediately changed her passwords and called 911. Police arrested Jenkins at the same intersection, charging him with robbery and theft by deception. STORY 7: 25-year-old Georgia police officer battles stage 5 kidney failure At just 25, Officer Quas’Jon “Q” Flowers is facing a battle no one sees coming in their twenties: stage five kidney failure. A two-year veteran of the Albany Police Department, Flowers has been fighting a hereditary kidney condition since his teens. His health took a sharp turn in recent years—his kidney function plummeting from near-normal in 2021 to just 5–9% now. Doctors have placed a dialysis catheter, and he’s preparing for at-home treatments while awaiting final approval to join the kidney transplant list. A living donor could change everything, offering better outcomes and a shorter wait. The Albany Police Department is rallying behind him. “We lift him up in strength and support,” they said. Nearly 90,000 people in the U.S. are waiting for a kidney transplant. If you’d like to help, visit www.donatelifegeorgia.org to learn about organ donation. The state of Georgia has just suspended the execution of 52-year-old Stacey Humphreys scheduled for this Wednesday. Because two members of its pardons and parole board have alleged conflicts of interest, the clemency hearing scheduled for today has now been “postponed until further notice.” Humphreys had already made headlines earlier for his exorbitant and jaw dropping last meal request which you have to hear to believe. Finally, as Florida continues its record setting year of executions, its last lethal injection is set for Thursday, just as new research shows public opposition for the death penalty is at its highest level in nearly 50 years. At the Crexendo UGM, Amy Humphreys, Chief Operating Officer at Simplicity VoIP, joined Doug Green, Publisher of Technology Reseller News, to discuss her company's customer-first approach, its long-standing partnership with NetSapiens, and the innovations shaping its growth in UCaaS, texting, and AI. Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Virginia, Simplicity VoIP provides unified communications solutions to businesses of all sizes across the U.S., maintaining a fully onshore support team. Humphreys explained that after starting as a 3CX reseller, Simplicity sought more flexibility and scalability — a search that led them to NetSapiens in 2016. “NetSapiens is a true partner,” she said. “They're constantly helping us future-proof our business by adding new functionality and third-party integrations like vFax, video, and texting.” Attending Crexendo UGM, Humphreys emphasized the importance of connecting with platform leadership and staying ahead of innovation. “We came to see what's next — especially around AI, texting, and mobility,” she said. “It's about understanding where the industry is heading so we can bring richer user experiences to our customers.” A highlight of the conversation was Simplicity's success in text messaging solutions, including both native NetSapiens texting and large-scale bulk SMS through MessageMedia. “We have one client who started with 60,000 text messages a month,” Humphreys shared. “They're now doing over half a million a month. Texting has exploded — even small use cases like group messaging for schools create real value.” Humphreys also outlined emerging AI opportunities in areas such as patient referral automation, where voicemail messages are transcribed and converted into digital documents for faster workflows. “That's just the tip of the iceberg,” she said. Simplicity's “super seller” model has further expanded its reach. This hybrid program allows VARs and MSPs to deliver UCaaS under their own brand without the heavy upfront investment of a platform purchase. “We give our partners full control of the customer domain — they build it, sell it, and support it,” Humphreys explained. “We handle the porting, billing, taxation, and compliance. It's been a win-win, and we even have a case study showcasing the first super seller's success.” Reflecting on her industry journey, Humphreys credited Technology Reseller News as a valuable learning tool early in her career. “Reading TR every day helped me understand the industry when I was new,” she said. “It's still part of my daily routine.” To learn more about Simplicity VoIP's UCaaS, texting, and partner programs, visit www.simplicityvoip.net.

The latest Everhaze "Battle of the Airwaves" report has found that Fianna Fáil's leadership turmoil was the most defining and negatively framed story of the 2025 Presidential election, eclipsing all other topics across more than 16,000 radio mentions. The fallout, which was intertwined with Jim Gavin's withdrawal generated over 2,000 mentions resulting in a sustained national discussion and an average negative weighted sentiment of -43.8 pp, the lowest of the election. Amid the turbulence, Maria Steen emerged as an unexpected winner of the campaign, gaining national prominence on a non-polarising current securing 1,300 mentions largely avoiding controversy and securing net sentiment of +1.0 pp. In contrast, the two leading candidates, Catherine Connolly and Heather Humphreys, were both drawn into negative narratives late in the race, as Connolly's "Bank Representation" (-3.6 pp) and Humphreys' "Shane O'Farrell" (-4.2 pp) storylines became the most damaging stories of their respective campaigns. Connolly ultimately led the airwaves in the final fortnight (44.1% share of voice, +2.3 pp net sentiment) with coverage driven by governance reform and community advocacy themes. Humphreys followed at 37.3% (-2.6 pp), her tone weighed down by ongoing justice and departmental accountability discussions. Gavin's residual post-withdrawal commentary held 18.6% (-3.6 pp) and remained strongly associated with leadership fallout. Local radio again proved decisive, accounting for 72% of all mentions, while national talk shows supplied narrative framing and tone moderation. Overall sentiment across the campaign closed slightly negative (-0.8 pp net), underscoring a cycle defined more by leadership disruption and controversy than by policy promotion. Speaking about the findings, James McCann, CEO of Everhaze said: "Jim Gavin's withdrawal from the race, and the ensuing fallout for Fianna Fáil's leadership, will likely stand as the defining story of the 2025 Presidential campaign. Equally striking is how Maria Steen's absence from the ballot became an unexpected advantage. The sheer volume of her mentions, combined with their notably non-polarising tone, propelled her into national prominence without the burden of controversy. It's also unsurprising that Catherine Connolly was the only candidate to finish with a positive sentiment score, largely because Heather Humphreys' campaign struggled to generate strong counter-narratives capable of offsetting a series of negative stories." The Battle of the Airwaves: Irish Presidential Campaign 2025 report analysed more than 16,000 radio mentions from 60 stations nationwide, tracking sentiment, share of voice, geography, and trend dynamics between 24 September and 25 October 2025. Everhaze is an Irish-built PR intelligence platform that tracks real-time media coverage across radio, print, and online sources in Ireland and the UK. Its technology combines broadcast capture with AI-driven analysis to map who is getting talked about, where, and in what tone. The platform is widely used by communicators to monitor campaigns, understand sentiment shifts, and measure share of voice. See more stories here. Ellen Coyne and Pat Leahy join Hugh to talk about the all the latest from the presidential election campaign. There is one topic dominating the campaign today, or two related topics: Catherine Connolly's record as a barrister who worked on behalf of financial institutions in the aftermath of the property crash, and Fine Gael's negative campaigning around that record. A video posted by Fine Gael to social media and an interview Humphreys gave to a Sunday newspaper drew attention to the issue but also drew a huge negative reaction, from Connolly supporters but also from those who believe Connolly should be above such criticism due to how barristers are assigned cases. Ellen assesses Fine Gael's tactics. Who is their video really aimed at: voters or journalists? Meanwhile Pat has been speaking to members of the Bar to find out whether Connolly has any case to answer. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Nuacht Mhall. Príomhscéalta na seachtaine, léite go mall.*Inniu an t-ochtú lá déag de mhí Dheireadh Fómhair. Is mise Siubhán Nic Amhlaoibh.Tá an Teachta Dála Paul Murphy, ón pháirtí Pobal Seachas Brabús, ag agairt iarrthóir uachtaránachta Fhine Gael, Heather Humphreys, as clúmhilleadh. Baineann na himeachtaí, a thionscain Murphy inné, le ráitis a rinne Humphreys i ndíospóireacht ar an chlár This Week de chuid RTÉ Raidió 1 Dé Domhnaigh seo caite. Sheol Murphy litir dlíodóra chuig Humphreys mar gheall ar ráitis a rinne sí a bhain le ról Murphy in agóid i gcoinne táillí uisce i Ráth Miontáin, Tamhlacht i mBaile Átha Cliath i mí na Samhna 2014. Ba é Murphy duine de sheisear fear a cúisíodh as príosúnacht neamhdhleathach a dhéanamh ar an tánaiste Joan Burton agus a cúntóir Karen O'Connell ina ngluaisteán ar an 15ú de mhí na Samhna 2014. Fuair giúiré i gCúirt Choiriúil Chuarda Bhaile Átha Cliath an seisear neamhchiontach i ngach cúis in 2017. Dúirt Murphy nach raibh aon trácht le déanamh aige ar thionscnamh na n-imeachtaí clúmhillte faoi láthair.Tá Catherine Connolly go mór chun cinn sa rás don Áras, de réir na pobalbhreithe is déanaí. Dúirt 38% de dhaoine a ghlac páirt sa phobalbhreith Irish Times/Ipsos B&A go vótálfaidís don iarrthóir neamhspleách agus gan ach 20% ag tacú lena céilí comhraic Heather Humphreys, iarrthóir Fhine Gael. 5% a thug le fios go dtabharfaidís vóta céadrogha do Jim Gavin, an t-iarrthóir de chuid Fhianna Fáil a d'éirigh as an rás ach a bhfuil a ainm go fóill ar an pháipéar ballóide. Dá seasfadh na figiúirí sin lá na vótála, thoghfaí Catherine Connolly ar an chéad chomhaireamh. Agus gan ach seachtain fágtha go dtí go rachaidh daoine chuig na botháin vótála, deir 18% nach bhfuil a fhios acu cé léi a dtacóidh siad agus deir 6% eile go bhfuil rún acu a vóta a mhilleadh. Dúirt 12% nach bhfuil sé i gceist acu vóta a chaitheamh. Nuair a cuireadh ceist ar dhaoine cad é an tréith ba thábhachtaí dóibh a bheith ag iarrthóir, dúirt 3% gur “duine a labhraíonn Gaeilge” an tréith ba thábhachtaí. Dúirt 39% gurb é an rud ba thábhachtaí ná go mbeadh duine ann “a mbeadh cur chuige gníomhach acu agus a labhródh amach faoi chúrsaí”.Tá sé i gceist ag Leabharlann na Breataine cárta léitheoireachta an scríbhneora Éireannaigh nach maireann Oscar Wilde a atheisiúint, 130 bliain i ndiaidh don bhunchóip a bheith curtha ar ceal mar gheall ar a chiontú as “gníomh ró-mhígheanasach”. Dúirt Holland: “Bhí Oscar i bpríosún Pentonville ar feadh trí seachtaine nuair a cuireadh a thicéad chuig Seomra Léitheoireachta Mhúsaem na Breataine ar ceal, mar sin ní bheadh a fhios aige faoi, rud a bhí go maith is dócha.”*Léirithe ag Conradh na Gaeilge i Londain. With Catherine Connolly showing an unprecedented lead for a presidential candidate one week out from polling day, could her campaign only be derailed by something extraordinary at this stage? Cormac McQuinn and Harry McGee join Hugh Linehan to discuss Connolly's seemingly unassailable lead, the repetitive nature of recent debates, and with posters for Connolly and even Jim Gavin outnumbering Humphreys in some Dublin Fine Gael strongholds, could the party be accused of adopting a low energy approach to this campaign? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Catherine Connolly holds a commanding lead in the presidential election with just over a week to go before votes are cast, according to the latest Irish Times/Ipsos B&A opinion poll. The poll finds that Connolly, on 38 per cent, has almost double the support of her nearest rival, Fine Gael's Heather Humphreys, on 20 per cent. Support for the Fianna Fáil candidate, Jim Gavin, who stopped his presidential campaign last week, but is still on the ballot paper, is at just 5 per cent.Pat Leahy joins Hugh Linehan to talk about the significance of Connolly's lead, the mountain Humphreys now has to climb to win and what her campaign may do in the final week of the race. Heather Humphreys, the Presidential candidate for Fine Gael, speaks to Rachel in a one-on-one interview.
Presidential campaign exchanges intensified between the Connolly and Humphreys camps, while in the Dáil the Government short-circuited a no-confidence motion with one of their own.
As independent candidate Catherine Connolly and Fine Gael candidate Heather Humphreys enter the final nine days of the campaign, Jack Horgan Jones and Ellen Coyne join Hugh Linehan to launch our daily podcast coverage.A motion of no confidence in Simon Harris over controversies in Children's Health Ireland and waiting times for scoliosis surgery was itself a presidential election event. Meanwhile Heather Humphreys has been on the campaign trail in Monaghan, with Ellen following her. It's safe ground for the former Cavan-Monaghan TD. But is she spending too much time on home turf? Jack and Ellen compare the Humphreys and Connolly campaigns. Connolly has led in the latest polls, but who has the momentum? The Humphreys campaign is seeking the support of disenchanted centre-left voters, with help from ex-Greens Brian Leddin and Pauline O'Reilly, who this week said they regret their former party's support for Connolly. The two-horse race means intense focus on the nature of the two candidates. Could that mean the result will be more divisive than presidential elections past? Hosted on Acast. Alabama travels to Georgia for a 6:30 Central kickoff on Saturday night in a game televised on ABC. Georgia is a 3 1/2-point favorite on FanDuel as of Monday morning. Jay Greeson and Chris Lee discuss the matchup and hit the following topics: Georgia's Kirby Smart is just 1-6 against Alabama, including a loss to the Crimson Tide last year under Kalen DeBoer. However, the Bulldogs carry a 33-game home winning streak, last losing in Athens to South Carolina in double overtime on Oct. 14, 2019? Which quarterback is more ready for the big stage? Gunner Stockton was clutch, leading Georgia from eight points down in the final minutes in Knoxville two weeks ago by hitting London Humphreys with a beautiful touchdown strike and then hitting Zechariah Branch with a 2-point conversion before the Bulldogs won in overtime. On the other hand, Alabama's Ty Simpson is 41-for-46 for 608 yards, seven touchdowns and no interceptions since the Florida State loss. Who has the play-making edge? Georgia's receiving corps is thought to be better than last year's, with even second-teamers like Humphreys being good enough to make big plays. As for Alabama, Germie Bernard has been consistently good and Ryan Williams (who made the biggest play in last year's game) has shined in his return from injury. Will Alabama's Jam Miller return from injury? And if he does, how much will it matter if Alabama's offensive line doesn't perform closer to its potential? Who'll keep possession of the ball? Georgia is running 80 plays to the opponents' 58 on average, while Alabama held the ball for 52 of 103 offensive snaps in its last game two weeks ago vs. Wisconsin. Which defense is better? Georgia gave up 371 passing yards to Tennessee but played the run respectably (4.1 per carry on true running plays), while Alabama gave up 149 yards (ULM) and 209 (Wisconsin) its last two games. Analytical models have this one as a virtual toss-up, with Georgia favored by a half-point at home (with a 2 1/2-point home-field advantage factored in). Causal Inquiry in International Relations (Oxford UP, 2024) by Adam R. C. Humphreys and Hidemi Suganami defends a new, philosophically informed account of the principles which must underpin any causal research in a discipline such as International Relations. Its central claim is that there is an underlying logic to all causal inquiry, at the core of which is the search for empirical evidence capable of ruling out competing accounts of how specific events were brought about. Although this crucial fact is obscured by the ‘culture of generalization' which predominates in contemporary social science, all causal knowledge ultimately depends on the provision of empirical support for concrete claims about specific events, located in space and time. Causal Inquiry in International Relations not only explores existing philosophical debates around causation; it also provides a detailed study of some of the most fundamental methodological questions which arise in the course of causal inquiry. Using examples drawn from philosophy and from the study of international relations, it demonstrates what is problematic about established ways of thinking, brings new clarity to both philosophical and methodological questions, and seeks to enhance collective understanding of the contribution that causal inquiry can make to empirically rich and critically aware scholarship about world politics. It concludes by situating ‘causal inquiry' in relation to other forms of inquiry employed in the study of world politics, emphasizing especially the often unnoticed dependence of causal inquiry on precisely the kind of knowledge of specific events which historians are well placed to provide. Adam Humphreys is Associate Professor and Head of Department in the Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Reading. Plate tectonics tells us all about how the continents are drifting along at a centimeter or two a year, ever so gradually reshaping the surface of the earth, remaking the ocean floor, and causing earthquakes and volcanoes the world over. But what if it went a lot faster? In this episode, Todd and Paul chat with geophysicist Sarah Peterson about the CATASTROPHIC version of plate tectonics that has become the leading model of how the Flood happened. Sarah walks us through both the basic concepts of tectonics and how Catastrophic Plate Tectonics explains even more than the slow, conventional version. If you've ever wondered how volcanoes, earthquakes, and continental drift fit in the creation model, this episode is for you!Papers mentioned in this episodePetersen, Sarah and Baumgardner, John (2023) "Catastrophic Plate Tectonics and the Tectonics of Western North America," Proceedings of the International Conference on Creationism: Vol. 9, Article 33.DOI: 10.15385/jpicc.2023.9.1.54Available at: https://digitalcommons.cedarville.edu/icc_proceedings/vol9/iss1/33Austin, Steven A.; Baumgardner, John R.; Humphreys, D. Senator Tom Clonan responds to remarks made by Heather Humphreys in relation to a now-scrapped government proposal to reform disability payments.
Harry McGee and Ellen Coyne look back on the week in politics:· The presidential race is the only show in town with Fine Gael recovering remarkably well from the news last week that Mairead McGuinness was dropping out for health reasons. Within days of that bombshell, Heather Humphreys and Seán Kelly emerged as rivals for the party candidacy, but Humphreys' momentum and popularity across party lines makes her a strong favourite to win the race for the nomination. · And while Fine Gael can count three legitimate potential candidates, Taoiseach Micheál Martin is playing his cards close to his chest with Fianna Fáil yet to put anyone forward. Perhaps former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern will eventually get the nod? · Will Sinn Féin throw their support behind Catherine Connolly in the absence of an obvious candidate in their own ranks? Mary Lou McDonald aside of course. Plus, the panel picks their favourite Irish Times pieces of the week:· Walking the Boyne Valley Camino, and Rose of Tralee winner Katelyn Cummins. Hosted on Acast. In Houston, Texas, the 1970s was a decade marred by violent crime. From high-risk adults to completely innocent children, the era saw little mercy.
