Welcome to the Always Bayern Chelsea show. Football season is well underway now and the 120th episode is a complete recap of the summer 2025 transfer window. Danny and Jim break down the incomings, outgoings, and more as well as rate the entire window for both Chelsea Football Club and Bayern Munich. Buckle up because this was one of the most crazy windows in recent memory. And don't worry YES we will be streaming the Champions League match between Bayern Munich and Chelsea. As always Chelsea did A LOT of business. Key incomings for Enzo Maresca included. Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho, Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Estevao, Buonanotte, Dario Essugo, Andrey Santos, Jorrel Hato, Paez, Penders, and Sarr. Outgoings were Nico Jackson, Broja, Felix, Madueke, Christo, Ugochukwu, Mathis Amougou. Carney, KDH, Matos, Chilwell, Gilchrist, Humphreys, Veiga, Beach, Bergstrom, Bettinelli, Kepa, and Petrovic while players loaned out including partner club Strasburg were Paez, Penders, Sarr, Anselmino, Castledine, Kellyman, Samuels-Smith, Wiley, and Nicolas Jackson to Bayern Munich of course. Chelsea netted about 5 million euros in profit this window. Pretty impressive business. Bayern Munich's transfer window was less desirable. The club notably struck out on their main transfer target dating back many years Florian Wirtz, other key misses were Nico Williams, Bradley Barcola, and sadly many more. The lack of alignment between the supervisory board, sporting board, and even coaching staff made this a difficult window for Vincent Kompany and the Bavarians. Luckily there were some key incomings including Diaz, Tah, and Bischof. With Nicolas Jackson joining on loan from Chelsea. Sadly Bayern Munich lost key players who are already missed by the club, some of which left on a free transfer including Sane, Dier, and Thomas Muller. Other outgoings were Tel, Coman, Wanner, Aznou, Kratzig, and Vidovic. Players that left on loan were Palhinha, Kusi-Asare, Zaragoza, Peretz, Ibrahimovic, Zvonarek, and Buchmann. It's yet to be seen if this window will improve the squad for the long run but Bayern did net roughly 10 millions euros in addition to massive savings in the wage depart. On todays podcast, I speak with Australian Army Black Hawk and Chinook helicopter veteran Kevin Humphreys. Kevin is an inspiring and transformative international keynote speaker, mentor, and author. He's well-known for smashing stereotypes and transforming self-leadership. Graduating top of his pilot's course at just 21, Kevin went on to serve in the Army for 20 years flying Black Hawk and Chinook helicopters. He deployed on numerous overseas operations. In 2006, Kevin was one of the Chinook pilots who flew in under fire into a hot HLZ to pick up the Canadian Special forces in the battle of DA Nile. 24 Commandos were left on the ground facing 300 Taliban. Head back to listen to episode 100 with Craig Hamburger, he was one of the 24 Commandos on the ground that day, and speaks about the respect he has for Kev and the other Chinook pilots that day. Towards the peak of his career, Kevin contemplated suicide and suffered a breakdown due to a cocktail of mental illness, alcohol abuse, and a toxic culture. Kevin not only got back on his feet but also back in the air again, spending the next ten years as a Search and Rescue helicopter pilot, flight instructor/examiner, Chief Pilot, and Director of Operations. Kevin was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for his command and courageous leadership under fire in Afghanistan. Kevin was also recognized as the role model for the most recent Military Order of William recipient in the Netherlands (their oldest and highest honour). His impact as a mental health advocate and founder of COR INFINITUS, which gives dignity and respect to the families of those who have served their nation and taken their own lives, was also recognized with the award of a 2023 Community Citizen of the Year. In this episode, we're joined by Nicky Humphreys and Ally Lewis, the founding members of Dyslexia Awareness Northern Ireland, for a transatlantic talk on dyslexia. Nicky Humphreys did her PGCE Primary in 2004/05; in 2016, she commenced a postgraduate diploma in teaching literacy to learners with dyslexia/SpLD through the Northern Ireland Dyslexia Centre. She worked as a tutor for the Centre in Belfast for a few years before setting up her own small business teaching children in her local area and working with her local schools. Her professional body is PATOSS. She is married to Marshall and they have three children. She loves spring/summer and holidays. Ally Lewis is a former pediatric and neonatal nurse who transitioned into education after having children. Her personal journey into literacy advocacy began when her son struggled with reading and spelling in early primary school. Frustrated by the lack of support and resources in Northern Ireland, Ally pursued structured literacy training in Belfast. Since then, she has become a passionate advocate for children with dyslexia, offering support to families and working one-on-one with students in schools. Together, along with Jodi Snowdon (who now works for NESSY), Nicky and Ally founded the Facebook page and advocacy group in Northern Ireland, DANI (Dyslexia Awareness Northern Ireland).
