Paul Herrold of the Sons of Speed sits in for Jill this Week. Paul and Tom opened a topic-packed first segment discussing the coming off-road ready Ford Explorer Tremor. That conversation was followed up by news that Kia vehicles were recently compromised by a group of white-hat hackers, using the maker's app. More on this story as news is released. Still in the first segment, Paul recounted the events surrounding his and fellow Sons of Speed editor Brendan Appel's efforts to drive an all-electric Hyundai Ioniq 5 N from the Chicago area to the Gingerman Raceway in South Haven, MI. The tale includes not only charging issues, but track woes as well. In the second segment Paul and Tom are joined by Robert Duffer, Senior Editor at the Car Connection. Robert recently spent time with both the redesigned Bentley Continental GT Speed and the Kia Carnival Hybrid minivan. Robert also shared his impressions of the legendary Goodwood Festival of Speed. In the last segment Paul and Robert are subjected to Tom's “Touring, Limited, or Platinum?” quiz. Paul wrapped up the show by sharing his impressions of the Ford Bronco driven in serious off-road conditions.

Subaru Rally Team USA's head honcho Bill Stokes gives the inside story of how Travis Pastrana's "Family Huckster" Subaru GL with active aero came to be and why it made an appearance at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed (where it placed 5th overall). Bill Stokes has a cool job. In fact, as the Motorsports Manager for Subaru of America, he may have one of the slickest gigs in the automotive industry. A few weeks ago, both Bill, and Ryan Douthit (our guest co-host on this episode), attended the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed and on this episode of the Hemmings Hot Rod BBQ podcast we talk to both about their experience. We also learn what it was like to turn a 1983 Subaru GL wagon into an 860-hp, 5th place overall finisher, with Travis Pastrana behind the wheel. And Ryan talks about what it was like to capture media. This was a fun episode that we all hope you'll love!

Auto - Rund ums Auto.
We're back to discuss a new crossover and a wild enthusiast oriented event. First Benjamin talks about the new 2022 Mazda CX-50, which looks rugged and tough in all the marketing, but as it turns out that marketing is doing all the heavy lifting. Is the CX-50 comparable to a Forester Wilderness? And how much does that matter? Then Sami comes back from merry old England and the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which he described as a celebration of all things performance and speed. He talks about the new race cars, the hill climb and bowing to Dukes, because he was raised that way. Listen, subscribe and don't forget to get in touch! The guys are always eager to hear from you.
